-Basic Information-
Name: Genrou Tsuchigumo (lit. Original Son of the Earth Spider tribe)
Age of Death: [Insert Here]
Real Age/Age of Appearance: 750 years old / 50 years old
Birthday (Month/Day): April 3rd
Blood Type: O +
RP Sample (Optional): [Insert Here]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 7'7"
Physical Description:
By no means does Genrou of the Tsuchigumo family appear to be a man of regalia, from his dark and sunken skin, to his waxing yellow eyes... He seems almost feral. Among most of mankind his height alone is enough to garner attention, and among the Plus his behemoth build has many ponder if he is in-fact born of the Beastman tribe.
In regards to his face shape, one could easily define his sharp nose and almond shaped eyes as Arabian in description. His jawline boxy, and cheekbones prominent in an almost faux malnourished appearance create an almost bi-racial European-esque definition to his appearance. The bags which crest along the bottom of his sharp honey gold eyes seem to often reinforce the impression of sickness upon first glance at him. Yet littering his face like decaying harvest upon amber fields is a thick five o' clock shadow that has odd patches that sequence between patchy and nigh-full, an obvious sign of disregard to his own personal upkeep one would think. If it were not for his thick, full, and kinky jet-black hair he could perhaps be mistaken for a terminally ill patient. The thick greasy locks of his mane are often pushed back, knotted into a pony-tail that can just barely keep his wild shoulder length hair in check.
While dressed in the traditional Shinigami uniform, he does have several alterations that breach standard dress code for a soldier, the first and foremost being the Tsuchigumo House's crest. Woven in vermilion thread into the left breast of his ebony Shihakusho is a ornate spider with only six legs, its thorax upwards and its face directed towards his abdomen, as if burrowing. Other than that the alternations are more minor, as in oversize sleeves, an entire lack of socks, and often times he will simply forgo a top entirely to reveal his... Dad bod.
Whilst bolstering a tremendous physique... he lacks the refinement and stony sculpting one may expect of a warrior. Rather than worry himself over beautiful muscles, he possess... A bearish dad body, complete with a wide frame and a slight gut. Despite his obvious lack of athletic build, his muscles conditions aren't afflicted by lethargy, he simply is heavier in set than most. While perhaps he could spend the time to refine his muscle shape, he is content with his arms like canons, and his great round shape, confident and comfortable he quite proudly displays his great hairy chest and belly to the discomfort of many when challenged.
During his time within a Gigai he is actually of an entirely foreign appearance; instead of being crafted in the likeness of his mighty broad body, it is more within the realm of... small, Japanese, and androgynous. Often clad in flesh pale as moonlight with eyes brown as rust, his Gigai is actually always without hair... Bald through and through, a hairless imp without defining age or gender; upon encounter one could even mistake Genrou as either ten or thirty-seven, you simply can never be sure. The Gigai itself is often dressed in a variation of sweatsuits and sneakers, almost akin to the wardrobe of a middle aged Gym Teacher and yet due to the doll-like appearance of the body it simply... adds to the mystery.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
Nobility: As a person from one of the many lesser Noble Houses, he was raised among aristocrats and those seeking to feed on both their affection and wallets. He understands the absurdity of Nobility, and the absolute insanity of the sovereignty they are granted by the Central Forty-Six. That said, despite it being both hypocritical and wrongly rooted in snide ego, he is a stanch opponent to those who worship the Noble Houses and that which they stand for.
Party Poopers: As a self-described Trickster, Genrou, is against those who get between him and his amusement. While not inherently evil, his actions often drip a sadistic flavor too strong for many. He is by no means a "Bad" man, but by no just means is he a "Good" man either. It is because of this that those who are overly serious, or even excessively disassociated, are simply unappealing to him; He seeks reaction to his action, an explosion to his ignition!
Himself: Does Genrou hate himself? Perhaps on some deeply untouched level of his psyche, yeah. This, however, refers to that which afflicts him. For the last two hundred years Genrou has survived by sheer desire; his body at war with itself as his body is devoured like a ripened apple by a maddening autoimmune disease which cannot be cured. It is this blight upon his body, this disease born of him, and that will end him which invokes the greatest loathing in Genrou.
Sweets: Do we all scream for ice-cream? Not Genrou, that's for sure. He has an utter disdain for even remotely sweetened foods, and will not consume anything that is excessive in sugar. He is a man of spice, a beast who seeks a fire in his belly and on his tongue! While it has caused issues in the past, Genrou in fits throwing dessert plates, he actually has begun to simply carry around a vile of hot sauce. Now, either the food gets ruined, or he is having some Carolina Reaper flavored ice cream.
Powder Blue: No idea why. He simply loathes this color. Is it based off of something he has compartmentalized into the deeper untouched parts of his mind? Maybe, but right here and now... Genrou outright just finds it ugly.
Winter: Perhaps being a dramatic person with a deadly disease is not the best cocktail on the menu, but its the drink Genrou was served; and now his exaggerated motions brings him a great disdain for the season which knows only two things; Purity, which Genrou no longer has, and Death, which Genrou awaits with baited breath.
Likes:
Reading: As it is for many, reading for Genrou is an escape from his own shackled fate... In the pages of the novels which litter both office and his room he feels... Reborn. He can be anywhere, and anyone in the books he collects, and while he prefers great romances, he can not deny his affection for classic crime dramas. Absorbed in the many books that tell of grand heists, and often times the great minds which solve the unsolvable crime, Genrou is almost inspired... Not to solve crimes, but to create unsolvable mischief.
Smoking: Yeah, yeah he probably shouldn't with his ailing health, and yet he does anyway. He actually keeps a cluster of tobacco crop at the Fourth Division barracks he uses to cultivate and perfect his own hand-rolled cigars and cigarettes. He earnestly finds solstice in the hot smog filling his lungs, the pungent odor swashing over his tongue, and most of all the nicotine entering his body & giving his system that fix it so desperately craves.
Gardening: While he cannot be bothered to groom himself, oddly enough, Genrou can be bothered to create, manage, and generally care for an entire collective of gardens. While some of the herbs grown do carry medicinal properties, he actually genuinely enjoys being able to give life and shape it into something beautiful... Whether it be a ripe tomato or an Azalea in full bloom. This likely stems from his inability to produce any child of his own, and so being able to groom & grow something is a fixation that deals with an almost objectification of controlled chaos. He is unable to control the world outside his garden, but within it... He is the decider, not whoever decided to saddle him with a broken body.
Chess: He doesn't actually know how to play, he simply enjoys touting arrogant analogies which tie in with the game. Often he will be caught parading around under the facade that he is a brilliant mind who views the world much like a chessboard, and while in-fact he views life as a game, he sees it more as... Twister than Chess. Which, for the record, he knows the rules of.
Flaws:
Kenpachi Syndrome: Often times due to a culmination of his persona, demeanor, and appearance he is mistaken for being a Kenpachi. After all, his mighty bearish form that towers over much of humankind is enough alone to make one assume that he is a warrior among warriors. Though his aggressive manner of speech, his naturally gruff and booming voice, and as well his confident stature and stride all create a misconception for those unaware of his actual status. Why would this be a flaw? Many people find themselves rather frightened being treated by him, despite having an assortment of specializations in varying medical fields, and so he is many times left dictating to lesser Surgeons or Doctors directions on how to best operate on patients.
Excessively Extroverted: He... Is a chatterbox. Plain and simple. He loves to talk, be around people, and just swash himself in the attention of others and swaddle himself. The excessive nature of this trait comes from the crossing a clear line into toxic behavior, as he cannot be alone; He needs an audience, a stage, actors, and a slew of applause as he makes big reveals. This creates tension not between just himself but those around him... He may divulge secrets nonchalantly to someone simply for them to explode and create an even bigger crowd. The complete disregard to human decency is itself alarming, and while many may dislike it... He is clever enough to keep himself from breaking any laws which could land him in hot water.
Dissociative: Genrou has endured great tribulation across his life. Not a year he can recall is one he fancies or considers especially bright, almost always considering his life to be just a great big comedy; amusing someone, but not him. It is because of the great mental-emotional burdens which he had been saddled with at a young age, as a noble and only heir to the Tsuchigumo bloodline, that his mind as a safety mechanism to prevent the formation of a full blown sociopath compartmentalized a great deal of his more intense emotions and created a generalized disassociated persona... A part of him that acts on compulsion, intrigue, and self amusement. An absolute lack of human empathy is prevalent when his world becomes grey. Though like many disorders, his trigger is not fully understood, even to himself.
Habits:
Maniacal Laughter: He wishes it weren't so, but his regular laugh and snicker sound much like the exaggerated and malicious cackle of a super-villain. A deep and sinister sound bubbling from his depths in place of a snicker or chuckle, and often times creating a sense of unease among those as this massive sickly beast cackles as if crazed.
Snapping: An unusual quirk that occurs often when nervous or deep musing, Genrou will begin to snap rhythmically. This strangeness has been a stress coping mechanism for as long as Genrou can recall, even back during his halcyon days in the Academy, he recalls being chewed out for often snapping excessively during examinations, creating a disturbance and giving students a scapegoat to blame when they failed. While unaware, the habit itself is something he picked up from a Merchant he merely caught a glimpse of in passing as a child. His young mind simply... liked it, and so its stayed to this day.
Taunting Tone: Not even intending to, the voice of Genrou simply bleeds with and excessive and heavy sarcastic sound, almost as if he lacks any sort of seriousness. Of course, those who know the quizzical Shinigami, know that his intention would never be so obvious as to be revealed by his voice.
Eating raw onions: It's weird. He knows. Though, for some reason, Genrou cannot resist the urge to eat whole onions as if they were lush, juicy, and ripe apples. He's so enamored with the habit that he actually can almost always be found with a half eaten onion on his person.
Fears:
Dying: Be it cliche or not, his most intense fear is actually his own demise... The idea of leaving this world, and it moving on without him is unnerving... He's walked these roads for over seven-hundred years, and watched as the World time and again rebirthed itself; Nations fell, bloodlines died, and the world kept moving.... Without them... as it will without him. Due to his disease many assumed he'd become a stoic but wiser man, someone with a maturity only found in their dying days, and yet as if in defiance to Reason itself, he refuses to outwardly accept, admit, or consider his own mortality.
Goals:
To End Everything In A Bang: His goal is twisted, and whether it truthfully is his truest of true goals is not something he could even say with certainty. What he does know though is that he doesn't like the idea of this world going on without him, this is HIS WORLD, and he wants it to remain that way... Even if he has to crush all of creation with his dying breath. Is this merely the ramblings of a mad man with one foot in the grave or perhaps a tactician with nothing left to lose?
Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral
Overall Personality:
It takes a great man to shoulder the burden of others, it takes a greater man to do it silently. By that quote... Genrou is no where near a greater man. He is an unruly but shrewd man who in the last couple of centuries has shifted, albeit understandingly due to disease, from being a strict and dictatorial leader who exuded a refinement befitting a Noble to... A sarcastic, soured, and overall sassy person. Even among his peers, for whom abstract personalities are a dime-a-dozen, his is an oddity... Disordered, and yet still brilliant enough to remain unchallenged in his field. This is a man who sees people as just another piece in a game he seeks to enjoy until his last breath, and yet strangely still abides by a vastly deformed and personalized morale code that very clearly conflicts human rights and decency.
As a man who has brooded in the depths of his own twisted and storming mind, he is no stranger to darkness, and perhaps it is because of the torment suffered by his own machinations that he has become desensitized to the pain of his heart. This is not to imply that he is without emotion, and in technical phrasing Sociopathic, he simply keeps himself under lock-and-key. So afraid of his own reality, this man created an outwardly dubious and frankly flamboyant persona that acts on amuse rather than benefit. As if trying to cope with his own insecurities, he disassociated to the extent that emotion is entirely foreign to him; He could feel happy, and be uncomfortable because his mind cannot grasp what it is he is feeling. This is perhaps useful in both battle and operating room, but in gatherings full of socialites he cannot help but feel... Out of place.
His obsession with Nobility, and even his fervent loathing on a public level with the special privileges of a system which encourages an imbalanced shift towards them, is hypocritical due to his own pride in the soon-to-be-extinct bloodline of the Tsuchigumo household. Though it is this hypocrisy which explains the root of his dislike, and the origin of his obsession. As someone whose birth damned his bloodline into the annals of the extinct, it is clearly triggering to be a part of a society that dotes upon what he failed to be... A proper Noble.
Often times though, the deeper insecurities of Genrou are an unnoticed blight that afflicts his weary and worn mind in silence. Outwardly, he displays a vibrant, almost peacock-esque, arrogance that is unstintingly flamboyant. Even when entirely out of his depth, his disassociation will allow him to assume a guise of a level head despite any inner demons attempting to flourish. His once dogmatic and restrictive personality now replaced with a haughty and impish ire that creates an air of caution for any approaching.
Despite the multi leveled personality he retains an entire side simply for operating... When in his capacity as a Doctor he enters an almost zen-like trance. An absolute disregard for his own despair, or even the despair of others, this is what defines his completeness; an awareness of his emptiness and acceptance of it. It is a fascinating effect that seems to be triggered only when in the midst of procedure and was likely developed by his subconscious as a means of forcing into submission is otherwise wily and colorfully assorted episodic tantrums.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
While not much of a fighter themselves, as they prefer adorning Support-type roles, due to serving as a Stealth Operative in the past they have developed a more... Clever way of fighting. Genrou often prefers not to clash head on if possible, and actually will use an assortment of Kido to maintain a decent distance between his opponent and himself. His reasoning isn't out of fear for close-range, but for creating an unease in their opponent; wearing down the prey before going in for the kill himself.
Largely, Genrou prefers to be a creature of pattern in combat, mainly to create a false sense of security. He'll strike in patterns simply to bait his opponent into falling into the trap... The trap of them thinking they actually are in his mind, because after Genrou can confirm that the person is under the impression they have him figured... He switches from ranged, heavy, and long charging times to suddenly using short-hand casting, being up close and personal, and... using speed and dexterity together to create shallow but precise wounds.
While he is very clearly feral and vicious, he retains an almost child-like playfulness once someone is caught in his web. No more than ants to be toyed with, he will take his time making a person's mind his toy... Be it from shallow cuts revealing to be in critical junctions that impede mobility and sight or using psychological specialization to make them simply doubt themselves in this most critical moment.
Regardless, be it a strike to body or mind, the style of Genrou is simply put; Chaotic Controlled Chaos. Creating a chaotic scenario, allowing a false sense of control to be affirmed, and then with a brutal sadism stripping that security away as chaos is re-introduced with a far more sophisticated pattern. What makes Genrou so especially dangerous in battle isn't some incredible battle power, but that his style is to simply treat it as a game. He will disassociate and not allow personal investment to blind him, hence his ability to make split second decisions purely out of logic and psychological rationalization of any pattern in his opponents movements.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
Ōkumo (lit. Spider King) is the name of Genrou Tsuchigumo's Zanpaktō. The weapon itself does not follow the standard, and uniformed, appearance for a Zanpaktō's sealed state. When in it's sealed form, Ōkumo, appears as a mahogany walking stick, both polished as well preserved expertly, it lacks the fierceness of a Samurai's katana and instead brings to mind more often than not a fallen Western aristocrat when paired with the less than dandy looking Genrou. It is for this reason that often times Genrou can be mistaken for lacking a Zanpaktou by those lacking a profound level of awareness or knowledge.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases)
"Lets get funky fresh, Ōkumo"
Ōkumo-no-Shiromu (lit. Spider King of the Empty Castle)
Overall Ability:
The Overall Ability of Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu can be perfectly surmised in three words. What are these three words you ask? They are... Control, Connect, and Affect. These basic, and very much common terms when together almost entirely describe the otherwise thought abstract ability of Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu.
The first segment of the overall ability has to deal with the common element that is manifested in both stages of the weapon; a slime black as the Devil's soul. During both stages, albeit done differently in each, the user retains a unique and almost orchestral control over the slime produced by their Zanpaktou. While their is variation in how this control manifests between the two stages, it cannot be denied that it is a key trait that is overwhelmingly important to the entirety of its construct as a utility to be relied upon.
While the "Control" which is retained is an alarmingly important aspect of the overall ability of the Zanpaktou, it cannot be argued that equal to it is the "Connect" trait of the weapon. That being said, the "Connect" manifests in the sense of a collective; a hive-mind of sorts which allows Genrou to use the physical remnants of Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu in each form as an antennae. It is this unique bond which makes Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu an oddity, as it actually processes selectively the different senses of Genrou through the slime and vice-versa... This often allows for the mistake that Genrou himself is omniscient or even omnipresent when in actuality... If there isn't any slime, he can't do anything in time.
The final... and perhaps most grandiose trait of Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu's overall ability would be... "Affect". It is through this quality that Genrou has risen to great notoriety as a legendary healer. By imbuing the slime produced by Ōkumo/Ōkumo-no-Shiromu with a certain degree of his Healing Expertise, which varies between stages, he can perform outright medical miracles when the affect is at its most immense and focused.
Shikai Overall Ability:
While keeping in mind the generalized Overall Ability mentioned in the above passage, the transfiguration of Ōkumo into the Shikai stage is met with the physical changes of the sealed state into a mighty nodachi. Its slender black length like the bristled hairs of a giant, its sleek silver blade almost seemingly aglow with moonlight, and wrapped along where the blade meets the ebony wood is a porcelain wrapping. Its silken appearance almost mocking, in a "Holier than thou" way.
During the Shikai stage the user is able to produce the aforementioned black slime, but in this stage the user will generate the slime by focusing their reiatsu into the Zanpaktou, which upon receiving proper payment, will begin to bluster out legions of... Spider-shaped slime. The spider-esque creations conjured by the Zanpaktou are no more the size of Patu Digua, the World of the Living's smallest spider species.
Typically, Genrou is able to conjure fleets of these diminutive creations that number well into the thousands, but of course due to this massive fodder summoning the slight which is dealt is... Significant. First and foremost, the amount of reiatsu invested into these creatures is not even a full point. This creates the issue of... Even a non-powered Human could kill these spiders. They are without defense, and even without any real offensive measures. Though due to their minuscule energy they fit a certain expertise for espionage and amassing information... Especially due to the "Connect" trait.
While these creatures are under the "Control" and have a "Connect" to Genrou via the physical apparatus of the Zanpaktou turned nodachi, it is perhaps the "Affect" which is most fascinating in this form. During this stage of the weapon, it can only use a lesser capacity of Genrou's Healing Expertise. They themselves wielding no healing properties, but instead able to infest bodies, like maggots to a corpse, and repair them pure surgical precision. In they event that they require filament, coagulation, or anything of that nature the spiders can break down their own bodies en masse to restore non-lethal wounds (ie. Large gashes, cavities, and etc.).
Bankai Overall Ability:
The sacred rite of Bankai requires certain conditions be met for Ōkumo to transcend into Ōkumo-no-Shiromu. The first condition that the testy Zanpaktou requires is... It must be dropped as the user invokes it, blade first plunging downwards. Secondly, Genrou must not have used his Bankai in the last week. The Zanpaktou is reflective of its user in the sense that it too is soured and sassy, only wishing to be used upon the bluest of moons.
That all being said, upon a successful evolution in Bankai the physical form of Ōkumo-no-Shiromu now resembles a pale bo-staff, white as bleached bones. Upon where the nodachi form of Ōkumo was plunged into the ground a great black spring of tarry slime will bubble and froth to the surface. The slick, sticky, and oddly sweet smelling slime will form no more than an inches film over whatever terrain is below Genrou.
That which is called forth by the invocation of Bankai, the great reservoir of slime which sweeps over the land and dyes the very Earth itself black with his force... Is an extension of the Zanpaktou itself. All of those who stand upon this slick, and somewhat sticky surface are now within the beck and call of Ōkumo-no-Shiromu. The Zanpaktou in this stage does not produce any sort of spider-like golem, but instead creates a field in which the three traits; "Control", "Connect", and "Affect" are amplified to their most insatiable levels.
During this stage of his Zanpaktou, Genrou is able to use the slime to perform medical miracles, and project his own senses and powers into the slime itself. It is because of this intense affliction of himself that this Zanpaktou is considered a devious culmination of madness and pure genius. All of those within the range of the slime layer, which extends up to five hundred feet in a nigh perfect radius across the ground where they are located, are subject to Ōkumo-no-Shiromu; even Genrou himself cannot decline the malicious tricks of his Zanpaktou when it is in this form.
