Character Limitations
One of Bleach: Online World’s many draws is its ability to make a number of characters in order to experience different viewpoints, see the world in different ways, and play in a variety of situations that vary from one another. However, due to a recent influx of characters and a limited amount of time available to staff members, the amount submitted lately has become overwhelming and as a result has slowed the grading process and caused new characters to be forgotten, lost, or put aside due to the amount of excess work created lately. As a result, we will be implementing a character limitation per player for the time being.
There will be a soft cap of three characters per player. This is an initial cap that is in place for every player from the time they start on Bleach: Online World, and will be applied to all players at the time of the character limitation being implemented. Those who are currently above the three-character limit will be grandfathered in—essentially, they will not be forced to choose only three of their characters and delete the rest, and in fact may maintain all current characters they have. However, anyone at or above the three-character limit will not be permitted to make further characters until they have unlocked enough character slots to accommodate all of their current characters.
While there is an initial cap of three characters per player*, the number of characters a player can have can be increased up to six by completing threads and having your characters grow. For every 15,000 CTP earned on a single character, a player unlocks one additional character slot, up to a maximum of three additional beyond the initial three. This allows a player to have up to six characters at one time. Note that this CTP requirement is static regardless of starting point; a Class 8 (0 CTP) will have to go to 15,000 CTP, while a Class 1 (14,000 CTP) will have to go to 29,000 CTP. This total of six slots is a hard cap, and cannot be bypassed once the system is implemented.
*Note that all players are subject to a three-slot initial limit at the time of implementation, even if they have qualified for additional slots on prior characters.
As stated above, any players who are above either the soft or hard limit will not be forced to choose between their characters to maintain the current limit, and will retain use of all of their current characters. Additionally, any characters submitted for grading by the time of implementation will still be graded and be considered valid to be grandfathered in. However, those above the maximum limit of six characters will no longer be able to create characters until they give others up via a new item, “The Annihilation Pill.” This item will permanently destroy a character and free up its slot once the player is at six or less characters, allowing someone to use a now-vacant slot to create a new character.
This new limitation will be implemented on Wednesday, November 14th, giving players two weeks to create and submit characters for grading before slots become a mandatory limit.
