In the dark solitude of his chambers, Shikitsuhiko quietly meditates. Resting his hands gently upon his thighs he contemplates the world around him. In an effort to transcend his own existence, he sends his consciousness beyond his body. Peering down at himself, he feels the weight of the world around him. He can sense everything. Feel everything. The air circling the room, the churning sand, the touch of gravity on his skin, and even the heat leaving his body. He steadied his breathing further, releasing a heavy exhale.
"What do you require?" He abruptly stated. The woman on the other side of the door stepped back, lowering her hand for she did not have an opportunity to knock before being noticed. "You are being summoned." She said softly and meekly. Shikitsuhiko's fingers began to move up and down as he slowly returned to his body. Without a word he lifted himself of the pedestal and stepped to the ground below. He opened his door and proceeded to pass the wide-eyed woman. She stared adoringly in his direction. He abruptly stopped and turned his head to the side, as if to glance from his periphery in her direction.
"Thank you for notifying me." He said politely before resuming him journey to Kouhai's throne room. His long, slender hands swung close to his sides as he calmly neared his location. There was no haste in his posture nor urgency in his gait. Upon nearing the large, stone doors, they respond as if signaled by his presence. They begin to open slowly as he passes between them. He neared Kouhai's throne, which despite its size, was the central component of the room. Placing his hands behind his back he nodded subtly, as a sign of respect. "You summoned me, Lord Kouhai?" He asked rhetorically.
Shikitsuhiko's focus was Kouhai, ignoring the presence of others in the room. "If I may, I assume you are seeking an update on..." Shikitsuhiko immediately turns to face a strange presence in the throne room. This person appeared without even him noticing her presence. Shikitsuhiko immediately unsheathed his blade and dashed in her direction, only for her to be attacked by strange creatures. Their reiatsu was vague and cloudy, as though their existence was an anomaly. He could not seem to decipher their origins or why they were attacking the woman who had intruded in the throne room of all places
How did she bypass his senses and pesquis. Even Lord Kouhai seemed shocked. Shikitsuhiko dashed toward the blanks, turning his body rapidly as he delivered successive swings of his blade. He sliced through multiple of the blanks necks as they appeared largely focused on the strange woman. Who was she? Who were they? Was it truly the Escudo? No. It couldn't be. That name belongs to a forgotten time. None are believed to exist for none have been seen in many years. They are nothing more than dust on the pages of history. Darting backwards he focuses on the room, noticing the number of blanks and the woman.

"Honestly, now. This is ridiculous. Why am I being dragged here?"
The speaker was a tall, gangly-limbed reptilian creature, covered all in white, with hair about eight feet long, a few loops of it coiling around his neck and chest as he spoke. It continued to move even after he finished speaking, giving the impression of one who was carrying a live snake on their person as they went about their life. He had about him the air of a man who was there against his will, and indeed the presence of several armed individuals looking at him, hands at the ready on their weapons, cemented such an impression. There was simply no way this creature was free to leave at any time he wanted. He stood there, meeting the gaze of Sonken Kouhai without hesitation, without the slightest fragment of obsequience, and waiting for some explanation of some sort.
Before he could get one, the doors opened, to allow a newcomer to enter. Hair of a tint that immediately brought to mind some fragrant flower, like lilacs or lavender, and eyes hidden behind a bandana, or some similarly ill-equipped piece of clothing, that covered his eyes. Yaksha let himself stroke his hair for a few good moments, movements as automatic and simplistic as if someone had begun biting their lip, or rubbing their hands on their clothing, still not speaking, as he waited for some sign of the reason for the man's presence to become clear. Perhaps he'd wronged the man somehow, with his recent escapades in Hueco Mundo? Or perhaps he was here to make some sort of grandiose appeal to the king of Hueco Mundo, ending in a ridiculous ultimatum towards him. The man opened his mouth to speak, in a way that made Yaksha wonder for a moment if he had any trouble eating...and then what the man even bothered to eat if he ever did...when someone else entered the room.
The phrase entered is a bit deceptive; there was no opening of doors, no indication of an approaching presence. With no more ceremony than a jump cut in a television show, or some -very- poorly animated stop-motion, a woman was just -there-, with a retinue of what looked like bad hollow rejects. Yaksha tilted his head to the side, beginning to take a few small steps towards the exit, when all hell broke loose. The King spoke, in the tones of one who recognized the company quite well, and then the man who covered his eyes sprung forward, with a speed and competence that made Yaksha groan internally. Why had he even -assumed- that obscured vision would matter in the slightest to anyone that existed in this place? Already, his brain was trying to connect the dots, and work out a plan for his prolonged future.
If he ran, there was a very small chance he'd be able to get back onto the sands of Hueco Mundo. He might even be capable of forming a garganta and diving through it, to get away from this place and his mundane routine. And then this man, who could probably see perfectly fine, could probably -smell- the color of Yaksha's hair or something equally ridiculous, would then start hunting him. He'd be declared a comrade of whoever this 'Escudo' was, and then he'd be openly thumbing his nose against one of the greatest forces that existed at the moment. If he did that, there'd be -no future- whatsoever where he wouldn't be dragged back to this place, with as many guards or more, and given whatever speech was meant to be given today. Whereas, if he even -attempted- to render aid to these parties, then he could quite possibly ask for a pardon of whatever sins, real or imagined, he was to be accused of.
All this went by in the span of a half second, before the hollow's jaws unhinged, and he chomped down on the side of one of the blanks, biting it in half, and then wiping away various fluids that he didn't really spare the time to look at in any detail, before he spoke in a conversational tone towards the man who was mowing through them like they were cardboard cutouts.
"So, what can you tell me about Escudo? At this point I'll take urban myths, really. Better than waiting to see what she can do."
“One of these days, I really do need to get my own room..” Ciel muttered to himself as he slowly walked the sleek white halls of Las Nochas, heading towards the throne room. Due to his rather recent recruitment at Kouhai’s hands after Ciel’s little episode in Las Nochas, a room for him has yet to actually be secured and the one he personally emptied wasn’t exactly fit to be lived in. To compensate, when Ciel needed to rest or relax Kouhai has been letting him hang around in the Throne room. It’s been rather interesting honestly; Ciel’s been able to overhear many interesting things, and most recently was the entertaining promotion ceremony of the Segunda Espada, Asuka Tan’O. She truly was an odd girl and she grew even odder after they finally me-..
Ciel’s thoughts tapered off as he grew close to the throne room’s entrance. He could hear….something coming from beyond the door. Exactly what was hard to make out for Ciel at this distance, his sealed state hampered his senses rather drastically but he could tell it wasn’t voices. Chances are it was just a couple of Arrancar fighting for some reason. Curiously he pushed forward, opening the doors to a rather odd sight. The room was filled with strange creatures. They were white and held no real expression or details to their body, although they held a humanoid shape and all seemed to be wielding a weapon, room was covered in ‘em like ants.
Despite the number though they all did seem to converage around a single point and at the center was a silver haired girl. Although Ciel couldn’t detect her presence before he entered that wasn’t entirely a surprise. She didn’t seem to be a hollow based off appearance alone..Shinigami perhaps? Either way her presence seemed to be upsetting, seeing as there was an Espada carving up the faceless creatures. Considering his position, Ciel had been made to memorize all the current Espada, although he knew nothing about them beyond their identities and rank. Kouhai felt Ciel could find that out himself. Looking beyond the looming Carnage he spoke out to Kouhai himself.
“Didn’t tell me you were planning a party Sonken.” Ciel spoke in his normal low voice that was twanged with boredom as he used Placidus in a single step to appear on the other side of the throne room, at Kouhai’s side, Ciel’s makeshift cloak being left behind due to the step. He’d turn around, sit down to the throne’s left side and looked down at the area with a now raised perspective. Ciel was never one to willingly jump into a fight, however if ordered or provoked he would. It would be now that anyone in the room who tried could finally get a solid look at Ciel. Raven black hair, eyes which glowed with hellfire. A muscular built man who's left said was claimed by some twisted, dark looking corruption, with his left side looking almost torn open and on fire.
Oddest of all however would perhaps be the jagged scar on Ciel's left breast, which looked like a fresh wound even after all this time. The singular word "Tartarus" was sliced into his flesh as if done so by a dull claw and it seemed to be constantly leaking a very visible shadow from it. However this shadow was thick and heavy like mist and pushed off into small trails as it dripped to the ground before dissipating completely.
“So, will my intervention be required? How about you, Cuarta..will you be requiring any help today?” Ciel’s question was asked open endedly to both the one doing the fighting and the king of which commanded his actions. Adjusting the focus of his fire-touched eyes to the strange girl in the center of all this he posed another question.
“Also, who might you be? I can’t imagine you entering this way bodes to well for my plans to relax.” Ciel asked, his voice piqued with intrigue. Although he wasn’t around for when Kouhai first called her an Escuda, the fact is it wouldn’t had mattered. They were a myth he had yet to be briefed on so he had no concept. Ciel sat silently, watching, awaiting an answer of either verbal or force, ready to trigger his release at a moment’s notice. Lastly though, he noticed one more presence, one Ciel had simply missed all that was going on. It looked like a normal hollow, not even a Menos class from what he could tell. Granted Ciel had no soft spots for hollows in general but he did wonder if he'd be able to survive.
This is the Akki step technique. While Akki can use step techniques from other races, this technique is particularly devastating because it belongs to them. This is the unique Akki ability for stepping.
What this technique does is allow the Akki to phase briefly in and out of their current plain of existence. In other words, they momentarily disappear, blinking out of existence. As they do, a flash of black explodes outwards. Anyone that witnesses them blinking out of existence will suddenly see nothing but blackness for that split second. It is hardly enough to affect the battle, but rather it is theatrical. The Akki, during that brief second, is gone, and cannot be attacked. This is a direct "teleportation," unlike Shunpo or Sonido, which are merely fast movement.
Averagely, this is performed at 15x the user's speed, making it one of the fastest individual steps. It is also known to be able to move forwards within three small steps rather than one. It can also be done for one. If done in three, the same distance is covered in three smaller steps, creating a theatrical flash of black with each appearance and disappearance. Additionally, there is a flash of white light when the Akki reappears and blinks back into existence. Any who witness this flash of light will suddenly see hallucinations of horrible monstrosities and new body features on the Akki in question that uses this technique, and their fear of the individual will increase.
How to use technique:
Like all step techniques, this one requires a simple step as well. It is done for 200 reiatsu per use, which is why most Akki prefer to use the steps of other races. It is an expensive step technique, but is easily one of the most powerful.
"Kill her." Kouhai gave the order. The girl was not very tall. Her silver hair reflected the throne room's moonlight as she drew her Zanpakuto. Her head shifted to one side in a confused way. "Hey, can't you just give me the Hougyoku?" she asked him. "Ohhh and I think I need your Hell ring too... Who has that again?" While she was speaking she came to be flanked by others who joined her. These were not Arrancar as she was. One of them had spiky blue hair and was a muscular male with a grin on his face and a red tattooed "5" on his shirtless chest.
He also drew a Zanpakuto. The other one who joined the silver haired woman had black hair and black eyes. He was pale and wore a black leather coat. The spiritual energy that pulsated from each of those three were very potent. Kouhai identified them. "Asa of the Escudo. Shiga Urago of the Ogatago. Zouma Santeku of the old Vaizard. Whatever technology has risen you all from the dead is marvelous, something to be taken and used for the benefit of Las Noches. If you can survive the fights you are about to endure."
"Hey, wait!" Asa said. "You guys! Why are you serving Kouhai? His rule is failing, isn't it? If you just give us the items, none of you need to die. You can just have an easy day and go to sleep. Tomorrow will come around and you'll be all the better for it! You might even get to rule yourselves without any fear of being killed by bad eggs like this king of yours. What do ya'll say? Give us a chance? Pretty please? Cherry on top? Maybe some head? I'm joking about the head. You'll help us right?"
