This date certainly took an unexpected turn. Initially out for shopping and ice cream, Luke was still surprised at the suggestion that Aura presented him as well as the fact that he was actually at a waterpark. Well, it wasn’t like Luke wasn’t looking forward to it. He hadn’t been to a water park in over ten years. The last time he went to one was with his parents. Standing barefoot on the concrete floor, Luke had finished changing well before Aura did. All he had to do was strip and put on a pair of trunks after all. He had chosen to go with a light red, or pink, suit that had little different colored shark designs on it. Simple and fitting.
Looking at the locker ring he had tied to his wrist for a moment, Luke placed his hands into the pockets of his swim shorts as he looked out at the waterpark. Spreading out the awareness of his Energy Sensory, Luke scanned the indoor park in search of anything with reiatsu or could possibly be a threat. He felt Aura in, where he believed it to be, the woman's changing room. Besides that he didn’t feel anything of note. No Hollows, nobody else but them with powers, and no Shinigami. There were some people with minut spiritual power but Luke had a sneaking suspicion they might only be spiritually aware and not capable of doing anything.
Standing on the walkway above the large portion of the park that had been built to simulate a day at the beach, Luke stepped to his side as a excited family rushed past him. Watching them go down the stairs, his attention returned to the water when the wave generator began to turn on. He heard it before everyone else did thanks to his superhuman levels of hearing, but how he did amongst all the screams of joy and fun he didn’t think too hard on. It really was loud for him in here. The wave’s began to come, giving the idle swimmers some excitement as their relaxation ended when they were suddenly being bobbed up and down. ”Humans share some similarities with hippos, don’t they?” Luke suddenly heard Windstarke say.
Where did that come from? Humans are just a super evolved animal and all animals have a tendency to gather near water.
Luke explained as the waves began to reach the sandy shore. He blinked. His brown eyes rested on the water and the dozens of yellow tubes and bodies floating with the waves. Suddenly, as if static covered his vision and the channel of a tv was changed, Luke was looking at something else. There was still water. Water that was pushed by waves. Bodies and rubble floated along the surface as the flood was pushed further, and further, down the road. Quickly closing his eyes he hoped to block it out, opening them back up to see that the scene was gone. His breathing had quickened and, without him realizing it, he looked like he was going to be sick. Is water...just going to trigger me? He wondered, knowing just what that scene was. A memory.
”Everything is going to trigger you at some point.” Jäger responded as Luke leaned forward on the rail. Pushing off, Luke decided to go find Aura. She had to be done changing by now. Following her spiritual signature, Luke blinked when he noticed her back to him. His eye’s settled on her back before they drifted downwards to territories that would probably get him a judging look if she caught him. When she turned to greet him, Luke smiled in return. Her swimsuit looked good on her. He was, honestly, surprised she could pass for a high school student. Her body was rather filled out, after all.
"Come on, Luke, let's go have some fun."
”Alright.”
The lazy river seemed to be the first stop. The water was cold to him at first, but spending a few minutes in the water ended up making him used to it and comfortable. Like Aura he decided against using a tube. Like her he closed his eyes, letting the comfort of the water take him. He floated peacefully with the current. ”This is nice..” Luke commented softly. The stresses of the world flowed away from him thanks to the current. Opening his eyes and turning his head to look at Aura, the Bount noticed that she was looking upwards. He looked at her for a few more moments, having a good idea what was going on in her head as he turned to look up at the ceiling himself.
”Don’t worry..” Luke suddenly said, softly, as someone passed him in the river. ”Soon, you’ll be able to live like this everyday. You won’t have to worry about the night like you do now. I promise.” he said, before turning his head so he could smile at her.
