Marcus couldn’t say that he wasn’t disappointed when his foot connected cleanly with Luke’s jaw. He had seen the man move quickly on his feet, even executing Movement to multiply his speed. Perhaps Luke was just slow on his feet. After all, it Marcus’s first assault was direct and came from the front, so Luke could easily anticipate it. That was one plausible explanation, but Luke was supposed to be adequate in combat. He found that guy at a fight club, for God’s sake. For that reason, Marcus was a little skeptical. For now, he decided that Luke might just have made a careless mistake.
After the strike hit, Marcus shuffled backward, establishing a distance of 15 feet for Luke to recover. In this kind of friendly test/fight, he wasn’t going to press his offensive advantage forward. He was more interested in seeing what Luke could do. Sure enough, Luke took initiative. He sprinted forward, transitioning into a Movement-facilitated jump mid-dash. Luke had the high-ground, and he used to it to strengthen his vertical strike aimed at Marcus.
The bount was already marginally stronger than Marcus, and with the height advantage, there was no way Marcus could directly block the attack. However, that’s exactly what he did. His face was void of expression except for an unyielding steel behind his eyes. He wasn’t angry at all. No, that adrenaline-fueled look in his eye was a sign of his full investment in the heat of battle. He was ready to deal with Luke head-on.
Marcus swiped his left escrima stick upward from his chest to meet Luke’s blade. Obviously, it was met with a superior force of Luke’s attack. However, there was something very peculiar that happened the moment the weapons met. Luke lacked the energy sensory to detect this, but Marcus had left an imprint of his reiatsu on Luke’s blade at the point his escrima stick made contact.
The mark of reiatsu was only present for a split second before vanishing. And when it vanished, it propelled the blade backward with a force so sudden and powerful, it’d knock Luke’s sword out of his hand. Because Marcus held back with the technique, the blunt end of his sword could only smack into Luke’s forehead with a strength of 100. Still, it’d hurt like hell.
As Luke dealt with the aftermath of Marcus’s counterattack, Marcus braced himself as Luke’s body ran into him. He clentched his shoulders and began to retreat backwards to avoid losing balance. Unless Luke could counter, he’d likely end up falling to the ground. If successful, Marcus would once again retreat backward. Now, however, he drew his phone and typed out a message.
“I showed you something new. Your turn. I want to see what you can do, Luke. At your level, you can summon a doll, right? Please show me what your doll is like and how you can fight alongside it.”
Reiatsu Remaining: 1900/2000 (-100 for Shadow Punch)

Reiatsu Remaining: 1900/2000 (-100 for Shadow Punch)
{Shadow Punch}
Technique Name: [Shadow Punch] (Learned)
Class: [4]
Technique Type (Kido, Hollow/Arrancar Technique, Human World Dweller Technique, Other): [Other]
Usable By (Technique is available to which races?): [All Races]
Technique Element: [None]
Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): [Insert Below]
Marcus's fighting style is extremely fast paced and is focussed on eliminating his opponent as quickly as possible by dominating in close-combat with his lightning fast speed and superhuman strength. However, in hopes in increase the amount of blows he can land in a period of time, Marcus has created this technique. All it requires for activation is direct contact or contact through a weapon, and Marcus must then leave a minuscule imprint on his target that way, even if the contact is for a split second. Marcus may then activate this technique whenever he wishes, and doing so causes the target to be hit only in the area that Marcus had contacted with a force similar to a punch with the power of the user's strength or reiatsu strength behind it. The technique lasts for five posts, and unless activated before then, it will fade away. While the reiatsu is being focussed, only mastered techniques may be used due to the concentration required to purge themselves of Marcus's reiatsu.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): [Insert Below]
Stated above.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) (Insert Below)
First of all, this technique requires the user to pay 100 reiatsu to activate. In addition, in order to be used, the user must first make contact with his opponent, making it impossible to land without having already closed the distance first, forcing the user to rely on his or her own abilities to use this technique. In addition, one with an energy sensory of more than 200 may detect the reiatsu placed on them.
There are ways to remove this technique. Either by concentrating reiatsu on the area that had been touched, the target may rid themselves of Marcus's trace of reiatsu after two posts. Quincy, due to their natural ability to absorb reiatsu, only take one post of focussing their reiatsu to rid themselves of the shadow punch, and after two posts, whether they're aware of the technique or not, they will unconsciously absorb it.
