Which One is the True Animal

[Qaletaqa]

Qaletaqa continued to walk down the street of the Rukongai District that he had come to in search for that single Beast that had disappeared. Qaletaqa was starting to get annoyed with all of the people that were aimlessly walking around him as if at any moment he might snap and bite one of them or worse. It was much the same as when he had been alive and the pale people had treated him and his people much the same as they would treat animals and nature. Until recently he hadn't ever bothered to make it this far into one of the districts due to his unbearable rage. Zahra wasn't here right now so he wasn't sure if it would come back if he got to angry or not all he knew was that he couldn't go back to how he used to be.

So he tried to do his best to ignore all of the gasps and starring from the people that were also on the street. Some of them had dealt with Beasts before and didn't pay him any mind and others actually were rather enjoyable as children would look at him in awe and though Qaletaqa had very little vantity within his soul such a thing did bring a smile and a twing of light to his heart. Everything was going to be fine now the kids had given him resolve to find the Beast again no matter what happened he had to bring it back to his mate or else that poor Beast would be alone again. He knew that if he went missing Zahra would search for him herself and no one would be able to stop her until she found him so he had to do the same in stead of that female their happiness.

That was when suddenly there was a loud boom and Qaletaqa realized that lightning had to of just came down from the sky almost right on top of him for him to hear it so loudly. Yet as he stopped and looked up at the sky there were no clouds there was nothing, but clear blue sky and white clouds. For a moment Qaletaqa didn't understand what was going on how the sound of lightning had just been heard and yet there was no way for lightning to have struck. That was when he realized that the furless must have caused the sound since he could somehow made lightning like the clouds. Qaletaqa didn't have much choice it seemed for this furless wasn't going to stop looking for him and if he kept this up than the Beast he was looking for if not captured was going to leave.

Qaletaqa although he could easily give away his location by roaring as loud as possible would also scare the surrounding furless. If he scared them all then he'd just give them more reason to be afraid of Beasts. He couldn't do that to the ones that were actually ok with them being here. If he did such a thing he was putting other Beast in danger in the future which was something he wanted to avoid at all costs. So instead of using his voice Qaletaqa jumped off the ground into the air above the shacks reachign roughly twenty feet off the ground. Once he got as high as he could he started to look around trying to find the furless. The problem though was that he couldn't find him so he'd have to be ready for the furless to attack since he was giving away his location.

[Beast]

Just look behind you, stupid beast...

Qaletaqa had spun around and even leapt 20 feet off the ground but still hadn't seen Grodd. Even as the Byakurai trick had cleared the road, still the Beast Clansman hadn't seen the Shinigami standing right out in the open facing him down High Noon Western style. Oh well. Grodd was about to just launch a lightning bolt at Qaletaqa, but he felt that paw resting on his hand again. The golden monkey was trying to get in contact with him again. But why? Don't you dare forget my power... Oh yeah, his Shikai. He probably should have used that as his go-to defense against the charging beast.

Grodd pointed the dagger into the air like a paintbrush and began to write in the air with reiatsu charging. Even the sensory blind beast should be able to feel what was about to happen. With the words "Help me Grow, Oerwoud Hart" written in thin air, Grodd carefully grabbed the blade of the dagger with his other hand and pulled it apart. Leaves appeared from nowhere and spun around him as a pillar of reiatsu formed around the Shinigami. His dagger was replaced with bone gloves and a forearm plate as well as a massive increase in his hair length.

Now that he could potentially defend against the beast clansman's charge, Grodd prepared another Byakurai. This one would be aimed at the beast's paw. Grodd was fairly accurate, but just in his searching for the Shinigami and the Beast Clansman Qal would probably move just enough out of the way for the lightning bolt to appear like a warning shot. It should also get the beast's attention quite well. There was no one left in the street, just Grodd and Qaletaqa. The Shinigami wasn't backing down, so this should be their final showdown... Especially given Grodd's level of fatigue.

[Qaletaqa]

The wind pushed down on Qaletaqa's fur all across his body as he increased the altitude that he was at while jumping up into the air in order to get a better scene of the surroundings. If he wasn't in possible danger right now on top of trying to find a Beast that could have been taken against his will and away from his mate Qaletaqa would have actually enjoyed the sensation of the wind on his fur. As it was though he had something that he had to do and as he reached the full height of his jump he spun around turning in the air so that he could get to see the other side of the street that he had been standing on.

This furless had to be somewhere and it had to be very close due to how loud the sound of the lightning had been only a few moments ago. Sure enough as Qaletaqa turned around and surveyed the area that had been behind him he saw a single furless standing in the street now. All of the others must have scattered either at the sight of Qaletaqa a Beast jumping into the air or the lightning. Qaletaqa didn't know which had caused them all to run away and right now he didn't really care. This furless wasn't going to leave him alone to fulfill his duty which meant he had to be defeated even if it would cause more problems for Qaletaqa in the future.

Qaletaqa always planned to go against the furless with the black clothes and metal weapons yet he knew that he wasn't strong enough to take on their Alphas so he had pushed it off. Right now it seemed that his plans were being forced into action even if he still wasn't ready. The furless held his metal weapon and then seemed to draw on the air. Qaletaqa didn't understand what was going on and then as the metal weapon changed turning into what looked like gauntlets and the hair of the furless seemed to actually become fur Qaletaqa was left without words at what he had just witnessed. Qaletaqa only a few minutes ago had never seen a kido and now had just witnessed a release something he couldn't even start to understand.

What he did know though was that this furless must be taking him serious now and doing everything he could to beat him or even kill him as he extended his hand out again and Qaletaqa could see the same scene that had been played out only a few minutes ago. Qaletaqa had landed back on the street only a moment or so after the release of this furless had finished activating and now he was preparing to fire his lightning at Qaletaqa again. The otter though for all of his inexperience could somehow see what was playing out in front of him.

He couldn't afford to be kept waiting anymore though so it was time that he stopped giving this furless the chance to run away. The energy that Qaletaqa had started to feel inside of himself was difficult to control something that Zahra was much better at then him. It hadn't stopped Qaletaqa from learning how to use it for some things though and one of them was something a Beast had taught him and told him the furless normally used to beat Beasts. The furless would fire off his lightning only to see Qaletaqa vanish from his sight.

Qaletaqa couldn't execute the movement easily or even all that accurately yet, but that didn't mean he couldn't do it the technique known as Shunpo. Qaletaqa had been planning on reaching right next to the furless on his left, but instead due to his lack of control he had arrived five feet behind where he had planned and was having a hard time stopping. His lower paws were dragging across the dirt ground to slow himself down all while Qaletaqa extended his long tail outwards and used his full force to swing it towards his left in the hopes that his tail would be able to smack the furless away. Qaletaqa hadn't been able to aim all that well due to the situation yet his tail was on course and if the furless didn't do anything it'd smack into his left arm and more than likely send him to the ground.

Grodd... felt extremely drained. He was pushing himself hard and quickly running out of energy despite having done very little. His release was extremely expensive on his reserves, but he pushed through it and tried to use it best against the Beast Clansman. The Byakurai missed as Qaletaqa jumped forwards with Shunpo. Grodd recognized the technique immediately, but was extremely confused. How did the Beast Clansman know the Shinigami stepping art? Was he trained by a Shinigami, or was he just imitating it? Grodd wanted to back off and get more information, but then he saw how untrained the beast's Shunpo appeared to be.

The Third seat was convinced now that the beast clansman was just imitating the Shinigami art and that he didn't have to worry that he was attacking someone that was Gotei 13 sanctioned. After all, why would they have sent him out on this mission if Qaletaqa was permitted to be there? No, he had to be removed. Grodd had to grow stronger through forging himself in combat if he was going to supress the monster inside of him... So he stood his ground as the tail lashed out at him. The head on his hair moved to intercept the beast.

If the shunpo had worked correctly, Grodd would never have had enough time to react, but the failure meant he had five feet of distance to prepare for the rushing attack and move his hair into position. At a speed of 400, nearly as fast as Qal was moving, the long braid stood its ground and wrapped around Qal's tail. Exerting 600 strength, far beyond the Beast clansman's level of strength, the hair would stop the beast in his place. And then, the hair would pick up Qal and attempt to slam him into the ground. Not just to the ground, into the ground. Into a crater that would be newly formed and Qaletaqa sized.

Qaletaqa had only just finished executing the technique known as Shunpo which had been something that in truth even he wasn't quite ready to use in combat. He had only learned how to use the technique recently and hadn't trained enough in it for it to actually be all that reliable in combat. However, he had to push forward or else the chances of him finding this other Beast before another furless found him and would try to make him leave would just increase. He couldn't waste anymore time so he was left with no choice which is why his tail was moving to smash the furless with his full strength.

Qaletaqa though was shocked to feel a hard backlash against his tail the appendage that he could always count on in combat to be his most effective tool. He head turned around as fast as possible to see the furless's fur like hair formed into what looked to be a braid that was wrapping around his tail. Qaletaqa pulled moving his legs forwards or at least attempting to so that he would be able to pull his tail out from the braid. He immediately realized though that whatever this furless was doing he didn't have the strength to free his tail by brute measures.

Qaletaqa didn't have the time to plan out any sort of counter to what this furless was doing though or how he was able to do it because he could feel his body being lifted up off the ground from his tail. This was bad and Qaletaqa could tell that he'd be in serious trouble if this furless was able to get in even one good hit on his body. While not a particularly proud individual Qaletaqa did feel somewhat annoyed that he would need to resort to his trump card just to handle himself against the furless that he had been beating so easily just a few minutes ago.

As Qaletaqa was picked up off of the dirt street and brought up over the furless the markings on his fur began to glow brightly and then his body suddenly shrunk. The braid that was wrapped around his tail controlling his body through physical domination suddenly didn't have a hold on him due to his tail decreasing in size to the point that the section the braid had been wrapped around no longer was even present. His tail no longer even reached that long and the momentum that had built up by forcing Qaletaqa off the ground and through the air sent him into the air roughly fifteen feet.

If the furless looked up to see the Beast he'd see what looked to be like a small child form of the creature he had been fighting for the last few minutes. It had all of his features the black fur with strange markings that were now glowing. His judgmental eyes and long fang like teeth the whiskers on his face and white under belly. There would be no doubt that what he saw was the same Beast and yet how could it be when this one was only half the size of what he had been facing up to this point.

It didn't matter though Qaletaqa knew what he'd have to do next even if it would tire him out it'd free him of this furless. The small three foot otter would suddenly above the furless expand into a monstrosity over the course of only a few moments. His body growing so fast that it appeared impossible as if what this furless was seeing couldn't be fact. Qaletaqa now only a few feet off the ground was over twelve feet in height and weighed over a ton. As his body landed on the ground only six feet in front of the furless his paws crushed the dirt ground imprinting themselves into the dirt.

The Beast Clansmen that this furless had been fighting had looked like a Beast throughout the entire exchange and yet what now starred him in the eyes looked like nothing more than a monster. Qaletaqa's features were enhanced by a massive portion to his natural form while always taking on a far more feral appearance. His mouth was large enough that biting off an arm or leg could easily be accomplished his paws were so large that he could more than likely grab ahold of this furless's chest with one of them. His claws the size of his arms this was simply a monster and one that didn't appear to be in the mood to wait. Qaletaqa was starring at the furless angry that he had been forced to resort to taking on the form that used to control his life through his rage.

Qaletaqa's size was hiding his tail behind him now which was almost as long as his entire body making it far more of a threat than it had been only a few moments ago. Qaletaqa had to decide the best way to attack this furless knowing the strength of his hair. This form while it was much bigger and gave him far more power wouldn't be enough against that braid. Qaletaqa wasn't actually all that sure how he knew that, but thinking right now was something he had to do if he was going to win.

Qaletaqa could rush in and try to slash the furless with any of his claws which if successful would most definitely take care of him and leave Qaletaqa to search for the other Beast. However, it also ran the risk of killing the furless which was something that Qaletaqa still didn't wish to do until he found the other Beast. It seemed he was forced to use yet another technique that he hadn't had the time to get all that accustomed to using yet as he inhaled through his large nostrils his massive lungs expanding inside his chest. In the next moment Qaletaqa released a massive roar sending out both a sound and wind wave towards the furless that would carry with it his own strength. The size of the wave though was massive due to Qaletaqa's own size which would make evasion much more difficult for the furless than if Qaletaqa was in his natural form.

Technique Name: Howlburst

Technique Element: Wind/Sound

Technique Description and Effects: A variation of the Howlrazer Ferality, Howlburst is an attack that focuses on raw damage rather than striking at something's hearing. A common tactic from an animal to cause intimidation is to roar, something that the Beast Clan know all too well about. Howlburst is used when someone has gotten too close for comfort and the Beast wants to make some distance. Using this technique, the Beast Clan roars and releases a sound wave from their body, pushing anything away from them. The wave is equal to their Strength stat, throwing back anything that has less strength than them.

How to use technique: Take a deep breath, build Reiatsu in the throat, and release it with a scream or howl of some sort.

Technique Drawbacks: Obviously, this technique cannot be used by mute characters. This technique also targets everyone except the user, including allies. This technique costs no reiatsu, due to being a physical feat. If used this technique can only be used three times within the span of ten posts since the first use, otherwise the character will lose their ability to talk for fifteen posts.

[Beast]

As Grodd went to slam the otter Beast clansman into the ground, he could sense a change in the beast as nearly half his reiatsu pool was expended in activating his release. Suddenly, Qaletaqa became so small as to slip out of the Shinigami's vice like grip and was flung skyward. As it was hair doing the holding, there wasn't a ton of gripping power like there would have been with a hand that could reflexively tighten or a literal vice grip tool with its ridges. Having nothing in his grip any more, the Third seat smoothed out his hair mentally, letting it fall towards the ground. The hair was now four feet long from his head downwards almost to his knees. It swirled around him, ready to react to anything additional the Beast clansman did.

The small form of the otter was strange, with glowing markings and a death glare, but he didn't stay half-sized for long. The beast quickly grew to well over twelve feet tall and had to weigh at least a ton with all the flesh and bone that he had. Grodd was nearing seven feet tall at the moment as his Shikai allowed him to grow taller and taller as it went on, but he couldn't grow that tall... He wasn't even sure that his strength could support him if he grew that tall... But... Grodd had to respect the Beast Clansman. Growth was highly important to the Shinigami, so much so that the outpouring of his soul was based off of the theme of growth.

The third seat made a gesture he hadn't made in a long time. He held his middle three fingers out, touching his pinky to his thumb, and pressed this symbol to his left shoulder. It had usually been reserved for... people close to him. A sign of respect, of almost friendship. He didn't have a word for it in his mind, it just signified respect. He was still going to stop the beast, but he had respect for Qaletaqa's ability to grow so tall and so strong. He could see the otter breathing in deep for something and rooted himself by planting his feet and holding his hands up, ready to fight. He couldn't have forseen what kind of attack was coming, though.

The otter roared and Rukongai buildings started to tear up as the Howlburst ripped through the street. It wasn't wide enough to be out of the way of such an attack coming from a giant of a Beast. And if the buildings were being uprooted, so too was Grodd going to be. With no space to dodge (unless he wanted to be hit by a flying building) and not enough time or energy to try something else, he just gritted his teeth and bore the attack. He was flung backwards with enough force to throw him at least a football field away, but he stopped himself from going too far away by pooling reiatsu at his back and forming a temporary platform of air with Advanced Air Ground. It hurt to suddenly stop, but it was better than letting Qal get away by being thrown away.

Grodd jumped to the ground and landed gracefully with a roll to mitigate any falling damage. Back up on his feet in a moment, he tried to weigh his options for how to tackle this monstrosity of an otter. He already knew that he was too slow, even with his hair moving faster than he physically could. His best option was to draw the fight out and rest as his hair grew longer and he grew taller. So that's what he did. He remained a good distance from Qaletaqa, just regaining his breath and slowly planning a course of actions that didn't result in him brutally ripped apart. Qal didn't look like a killer, and had seemed to hold back this entire time, but he was still exceptionally powerful and Grodd was wary.

[Qaletaqa]

Qaletaqa began to fall back down to the dirt streets of the Rukongai the visual outlook that he had on the same area only a moment ago was vastly different to him now as his body had grown more than four times the size it had been in only a few moments. Everything had seemed so big after making himself small enough to get out of the hair that this furless was using to grab ahold of him. He hadn't been able to see the wooden buildings that these furless lived in from that height while he had been small before and it really just made him question how big of an area had been taken from nature by the furless.

Now though as his eyes grew larger along with the rest of his body what seemed to be so big to him appeared to be getting smaller and smaller until it appeared tiny. Even in his natural form the buildings that these furless lived in weren't all that big most of them Qaletaqa couldn't get on or else he'd break them. Not to mention that in order to get into them he almost always had to bend forwards while ducking his head. Now though as his massive body made impact with the ground and he could feel the ground actually give way to his weight it seemed as if he was completely different.

Qaletaqa had only ever gone into this form willfully a handful of times. He hadn't actually even experienced what it was like until a short time ago after he had already come upon his mate Zahra. It was only because of her that the rage that once claimed and consumed his soul was now lifted from him. He would have to finish this confrontation as swiftly as possible now as switching between his forms took a rather large amount of stamina that Qaletaqa couldn't afford to waste. Already he could feel his heart beat pumping faster than he would prefer with what was still ahead of him to do.

The furless that had just a moment ago actually grown to be taller than himself now looked to be nothing more than a small Beast. Qaletaqa could see that he was also bigger than all of the buildings that were around the both of them meaning that at any moment more of these furless could spot him and come to try and prevent him from finding the missing Beast. He had no other choice than to do everything in his power to defeat the furless in front of him and move on out of this form. So he inhaled and in the next instant released that massive amount of air watching in awe of what followed.

Qaletaqa hadn't ever actually used Howlburst in the form that he was in right now he was much larger than normal which meant that his lungs were naturally much larger than normal as well. To top it off his mouth was bigger than his entire head was normally so the angle and spread of the roar was much greater than he was used too. He watched in awe and horror as the buildings that the furless clung to from nature were torn apart. The furless that kept on getting in his way didn't seem to be able to withstand the roar either as Qaletaqa watched him fly backwards along with the buildings however unlike them he suddenly stopped after a short distance almost as if he hit something.

Qaletaqa watched as the furless seemingly collided with something that stopped him from being sent backwards anymore. After that though the furless started to come back down towards the ground and that's when Qaletaqa decided it'd be best to attack him and try to finish him off since it seemed he wasn't going to give up. Qaletaqa wasn't going to kill him even if he caused this much destruction which hadn't been the plan if he only beat the furless up and then disappeared he'd more than likely be pursued less than if he actually killed him on top of everything else. So he concentrated the energy that he could feel inside of himself to the fur on top of his head.

The hair would suddenly get straight and rigged almost as if each of them were metal until just as the furless rolled onto his feet the hair was fired off from the top of his head right towards the furless at 250 speed. Qaletaqa had mastered this technique unlike that technique that the furless used to make themselves faster. The ten strands of fur that Qaletaqa had just fired off towards the furless were aimed to strike him wildly across his body with only his head being unlikely of getting hit. His size once again would play a vital role though simply due to the size of his fur now. They were much larger than just thin little threads that might be able to do as much damage as a normal senbon. No these were bigger and if they hit it'd be more like getting stabbed by a pen through the flesh. Qaletaqa could only hope that this furless would pass out of run away if this was successful so he could get on his way.

[Beast]

Grodd was ready for the metal-like hair spikes that were fired at him from the top of the beast's head. His hair, now five feet long, simply swatted the needles aside, burying them in the dirt to the point where they couldn't even be seen anymore. They had been knocked aside with 600 strength at a speed almost double that of their own. In response, Grodd held up his hand and revealed that his fingernails were five inches long, nearly half a foot of hardened bone-like protein. In the same manner that Qaletaqa had shot out his hair needles, the Shinigami also fired projectiles from his body. Five razor sharp fingernails shot out of the man's hand aimed right at the otter's chest.

With it being such a big target, hitting him with the 300 strength/speed projectiles wouldn't be impossible. True, the beast clansman was faster than the fingernails, but with him being so big attempting to dodge to the side could more result in him tripping over the rubble of the buildings he uprooted. Dodging backwards would only lose ground and show weakness. And allow Grodd to gain more power as his hair grew longer and his fingernails on his left hand returned. Grodd's Shikai allowed him great defensive power that could turn ugly quickly, and if he was allowed to just rest and grow then he gained much power... Qaletaqa had to decide how to react to the nails, then had to decide if he was willing to strike at the man whose hair was nearly as tall as he was and had a vast physical advantage.

[Qaletaqa]

Qaletaqa had to finish this as fast as possible he was running out of time and soon he wouldn't be able to use either of his forms which meant that he more than likely wouldn't be able to fight off this furless. He knew his own limitations and using the strange ability that all Beasts were capable of doing wasn't something that Qaletaqa had all that much development with yet. He normally had gone into it only to make himself smaller and that had only been for brief periods of time. One thing was clear to him now if nothing else though if he wished to take the land back from the furless he'd need to develop his ability or else he'd never win.

He was stronger and faster than this furless that had been obvious from the very beginning of their battle as he had little problem dealing with him throughout most of it and yet that had taken such a turn for the worst. Since this furless had done that strange thing to his sword his hair had grown out to the point that he looked like a Beast himself and Qaletaqa knew he wasn't stronger than him anymore. He wasn't even sure he was faster than him anymore after seeing his hair get smacked to the ground. These furless could use some sort of ability as well just like Beasts. He had to get stronger, but to do that he had to get out of here and find that missing Beast.

The furless though in the next moment held out his hand and Qaletaqa watched while focusing his energy into his paws ready to try and rush the furless with their own attack like last time. He didn't have much control over it and likely wouldn't be able to stop himself very well just like last time, but now due to his size he'd still smash into the furless hopefully finishing him off. That was the plan anyway and then Qaletaqa watched as the nails of the furless moved towards him just like how his hair was used against the furless a moment ago. Qaletaqa wasn't sure how he was starting to see all these little details, but he knew he couldn't risk being hit.

In the following moments Qaletaqa used up a vast majority of the stamina that he still had after already using a fair amount of it. He couldn't evade to the sides or else he risked injuring some of the furless that he already felt bad for due to him destroying some of their buildings. He couldn't move backwards either due to the fact that he really needed to end this now and it would only prolong a battle that was starting to look like he might be defeated. So instead the massive Beast suddenly shrunk back to his natural size in an instant causing the finger nails to move through the air above his head. Qaletaqa would than vanish and reappear directly to the right of the furless.

Qaletaqa had to end this now or else he'd be to late this furless was confident in what he could accomplish and handle something that had become obvious even to Qaletaqa. In close combat since his hair had grown long he hadn't evaded or tried to dodge his hair seemed to do everything for him. Qaletaqa just hoped that his merger plan would prove effective or else he was finished as his stamina reserves were nearly gone and his body was starting to feel heavy. He turned his body to the side slightly and in the next instant his tail came across the front of the furless ready to strike him directly in his chest. He had done this last time and the braid had been able to stop his tail.

Qaletaqa though was learning as this fight continued how to fight against these furless. It was different than fighting a Beast senselessly. He actually had to come up with ways to defeat the furless like he often did against his mate. So as his tail moved to strike the furless with his full might against his chest Qaletaqa's head was turned towards the furless. In that instant his head suddenly alone from the rest of his body grew back to the size of his immense monstrous form dwarfing over the rest of his body making it appear as if he were a bobble head. It didn't matter for his head was now right on the furless making up the distance between them with it's sheer size.

Opening his mouth if the furless was able to see to the right of him while also trying to block or catch the tail that was coming right at him it would be obvious that if he wished it Qaletaqa could fit most of his upper body in his mouth. The furless though was bigger now to and Qaletaqa didn't have time to make the right fit so instead inhaling through his nostrils as swiftly as he could Qaletaqa would attempt to bite down on the right arm of the furless right as his tail would either be caught or blacked. This was the end game his fangs would sink into the flesh of the furless and then Qaletaqa would once again roar this time though it'd sound like a growl or simply muffled due to most of his mouth was closed around the arm of this furless.

Qaletaqa knew that his own mouth was going to get hurt from the sudden rush of air and due to doing it once again almost right after the last time his throat would be injured as well. If successful though this furless wouldn't be able to continue more than likely his arm would not only have taken massive bite marks equivalent to having been stabbed by blades, but also the force of the roar had been compressed all onto his arm. It hadn't been able to get out from his mouth to be pushed back either so it had basically been in a vice squished hopefully to the point that every bone in it was broken and it cause enough pain that he'd leave. If he didn't Qaletaqa was in trouble.

[Beast]

The otter dodged the fingernails by becoming normal sized again, something Grodd should have expected. In a flash, the beast was close to Grodd again, using his superior speed to lash out with that powerful tail again. If Grodd could catch it and hold on better than last time, then this fight could be over. The Shinigami directed his hair to intercept the tail and wind around it in multiple places to avoid the shrinking trick to work again, but that wasn't Qaletaqa's plan, it seemed. The Beast Clansman's head suddenly grew two sizes and looked very odd but was dangerous as Grodd's arm was suddenly swallowed.

Grodd -definitely- needed to pay more attention to things... This was the third time now that the Beast Clansman had attempted and succeeded at feinting against the Third Seat. Sure, Grodd could take a hit now and then, but this was starting to wear down on him. Especially the fact that teeth like knives were now digging into his flesh. If it had just been the bites, Grodd should have been fine to try and attack Qal from the inside of his giant head with his six inch long fingernails, but the beast drew air in through his nostrils and howled again.

While it would probably also really hurt Qal to contain all that air in his mouth, Grodd's arm was crushed by the power of concrete-smashing force being applied from all directions. Blood shot from his mouth, anime style, as the blood dripped from his arm and filled Qal's mouth. In response to the Howl, Grodd lashed out at the beast's tongue and uvula with his fingernails, which would be dangerous to the otter and hopefully cause the beast to let go of the now useless arm. Getting some distance and clutching his arm that was losing a fair bit of blood, it took all of Grodd's stubbornness and pain tolerance to not flee or pass out.

A thin fur-like hair suddenly covered the Shinigami's entire body. Rigting would allow the man to control his body with his Shikai and move it regardless of the shattered bones and torn muscles. Sure, it would hurt like hell, but he could still... do... this. Raised finger defiantly covered in blood and slightly bent... Grodd demonstrated that he wasn't giving up. Sure, he could barely stand without his Shikai holding him up and he'd run out of energy in seconds, but he. was. still. standing. Barely, but standing.

[Qaletaqa]

Qaletaqa in mid rush was actually surprised as he returned to his normal speed after executing that strange technique that he had picked up that like the furless could make him faster. He hadn't arrived right where he wanted, but he was close enough to this furless that in the next instant as the size of his head increased back to that of his monstrous form he was able to bite down on the arm. He could feel his now massive fangs pierce through the flesh and muscle of this ever growing furless. The blood that gave him life was pouring from his arm into Qaletaqa's mouth and down his throat as the otter roared and could feel something truly horrifying in the next instant.

Qaletaqa didn't like causing harm to anyone even those that deserved it which not to meant that he was doing everything he could to not kill this furless, but just make him surrender. AS the air from his lungs rushed from his throat into his mouth Qaletaqa felt pain throughout his mouth fearing for a brief moment that he might actually cause his own teeth to crack or break. He lost such thought though in the next instant as he felt the arm of the furless move in his mouth his fangs tearing up the flesh as they were forced to move with his arm. He could hear the sound of bones breaking all throughout the arm as blood began to pour down his throat as if he was eating something bigger than himself.

In the next instant though Qaletaqa felt pain in his throat even more so than the last few moments. It felt as if the weapons that his mate Zahra employed into how she fought were inside of his mouth dragging across his tongue slicing it apart causing his own blood to flow down his throat. The blood of this furless and his own was mixing inside of his mouth as he felt pain that caused him to open his mouth and pull away as it returned to normal size and blood poured from him onto the ground as if he was a container.

The ground in front of him was no longer dirt well at least not completely it was now covered in both of their blood so much of it that any on lookers would struggle to understand how either of them were still standing. Qaletaqa was struggling to handle the pain that was emanating from his mouth not only due to this furless, but his own actions and yet the pain was slowly starting to fade. It wouldn't take long now until he could just forget about it and finish this furless off without having to be slowed down. It was rather irritating he wouldn't be able to eat anything solid for a least a week.

Qaletaqa was watching this furless now though watching and waiting for the moment that he would fall to the ground more than likely losing consciousness and yet he was surprised to see the furless raise his broken arm in a symbol of defiance that Qaletaqa didn't understand. All he could see was an individual that no matter how hurt he got wasn't going to back down willfully just like a true beast. The hair of this furless was now like fur wrapping around his whole body covering him for some reason. Qaletaqa just knew that he had to finish this now or else he wouldn't be able too. He was tired and unless he could rest in a nearby area he was finished.

For that very reason it seemed Qaletaqa wasn't going to continue there was no point anymore. This furless was as far as Qaletaqa could tell barely hanging on and had no way to attack him unless he got close like last time. There were those claws that he could fire off, but Qaletaqa had evaded them last time and was confident he could do it again. He had to get away and accomplish his actual mission not his personal one. So Qaletaqa would focus his energy once again into his bottom paws and than vanish. Qaletaqa didn't need to aim this time perfectly he wasn't enhancing his speed to attack the furless. He was getting away. In the next instant Qaletaqa would arrive in an area that still had shakes standing. It wasn't that far away, but far enough he figured. If the furless got close to him again he could hide and wait for him to pass out from losing so much blood. It didn't matter though soon he'd find that missing Beast.

The Beast... escaped...

Grodd's Shikai faded back to its dagger form as he collapsed to the ground, the extra fur breaking apart and becoming chaff in the wind. He had been broken, but he had held his ground and done enough damage to force the beast to retreat. Even if Qaletaqa wanted to invade the Seireitei right now, he'd be far too wounded and the gate guardians would stop him. They were much taller than him even in his super sized form anyways. So, pleased that he had done his job as a scout and a first line of defense, Grodd passed out with a smile on his face. He was ready to return to Mika's clinic for some more healing and scolding...

Maybe the other shinigami would learn another word today...
