-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 5'7 / 168 lb
Physical Description:
Constantly growing and changing is what Raygin does. He is still quite a young Shinigami, so his appearance changes as his life style changes. He changes as he grows, as he becomes more mature. Raygins appearance changes as his life changes, making him something of a living mood ring! Just kidding. But seriously, Raygin is still growing. He is a young man after all, still in the prime of his youth! Recently, Raygins appearance changed once again but not in a way that makes him unrecognizable. This young man is growing up, and he is growing up fast.
Firstly, Rays hair. His hair is still as spiky as usual but the pattern in the spikes are a tad bit different now. His hair flows downwards, ending in jagged tips. He has a very prominent spike on the front of his face. Basically, it's still spiky but its not a bush like it was once before. Raygins hair is no longer raven black anymore, rather it has become a chestnut brown color that seems to shine gently in the light, while in the dark it looks more dark brown. Raygin likes his hair, he likes his new hair color. He takes care of his hair, taking regular showers and making sure it's clean.
Raygins face has lost the "baby fat" it had previously. He now has a much more sharper appearance, a far more attractive and confident face. His face is still capable of showing a mixed amount of emotions, and is still rather youthful as it always is. His eyes are now a light shade of gold and still show the fire of life they always have. Some of the Kawada servants say that Rays newly colored eyes represented a change in him, since they had used to be black and red. The servants think his new eyes mean something about him as changed, which is entirely possible! Raygins face is still able to adopt many emotions; happiness, silliness, sadness, respect, attraction, anger, rage, fear.
His skin has a light tan to it, no longer being just white. He's been spending a lot of time outside recently, so it makes sense that his skin has taken on a darken tone. Oh! Speaking of his skin! Remember those scars he used to have on his arm from training with Zeroshiki? Well, they're gone. He had them removed. Kaido is cool like that. Rays arms lack any sort of scars, in fact, the only scar he still has is the one inflicted to him by the Quincy; Caesar. The scar is located directly on his heart. He kept that particular scar as a painful memento of the day the Vandenreich invaded. If one touched Raygins skin, the feeling would best be described as a polished stone. Its hard, but it isn't rough.
Rays body is stronger now. He has much more muscle definition from the rigorous new training he does. His body isn't large, rather it is slim and designed for speed. His body perfectly hides the amount of power he possess now and can easily make someone believe he is either a runner or a fit Kido caster. Hell, he can pull of a suit quite easily if he wanted to. Raygin takes care of his body, he likes the feeling of "being fit". Being fit is good! Wait, lets not get off track. Probably one of Rays most unattractive features is his calluses. Rays got calluses on his knuckles. The servants like to joke that Raygins got warts on his knuckles and they refuse to believe him when he corrects them! They are NOT warts they are calluses! Ray punches things, his knuckles needed a way to defend themselves. He often wears hand straps during training, as it is proper protocol for boxing.
Rays got a variable wardrobe, but lets go over his Shinigami Shihakusho. Raygins has some edits done to his, to make him stand out a bit amongst the other thousand black robes of Soul Society. First thing that needs to be mentioned. Raygin does NOT wear a Hakama, despite it being dress code for him to wear one. He, honestly, hates them. He doesn't like the idea of running around in a big poofy skirt. So, Raygin decided to give himself something a little different. Raygin wears close fitting black pants. They are designed for full range of movement, being designed after human world jeans and sweat pants. Hell, Raygin still says they are just tight sweat pants but he ended up getting convinced they weren't. So, Raygin happily wears his pants over his Hakama. Sadly, sometimes he has no choice but to wear them.
Other than the hakamas, Rays got really not other issue with the rest of the Shinigamis wardrobe. Raygin wears a wear shitagi beneath his standard black kosode. His kosode has some edits done to it to make it more personalized. First, the complete lack of sleeves. Ray didn't like them, so he ended up trying to remove them himself. He ended up ripping them off...leaving torn piece around where the sleeves should have been. But hey! No sleeves! On the back of his kosode is the symbol of the Kawada, the golden pheonix. Raygin has finally taken to wearing his families crest, though he truly doesn't like the idea of advertising it around. The gold is catchy and all and yeah the design is nice, but to him it feels silly. Raygin wears the standard sandals and socks of the Shinigami, though sometimes he wears combat boots. Rays got a few extras he wears from time to time. Sometimes he wears arms bands, headbands, and a scarf from time to time though he sometimes just goes out without them.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
- Caesar - Out of all the members of the brainwashed Vandenreich, nobody strikes more fear and anger in this Shinigami heart than this old man. The source of Raygins past turmoils, the one who sent Raygin down the path of despair. No matter what it takes, or how long he waits, Raygin will make sure Caesar pays the price for everything he has done.
- Lying - Come on, he can deal with the truth of something. He's a trustworthy individual as well, there is literally no need to lie to him. Just be direct and tell him what's on your mind.
- Racism - There is no need to judge someone based on their race or skin color. Sure, a lot of Arrancar seem bad but there are good ones out there somewhere. Different face but same race, right?
- Getting Into Fights - "Can't we talk about this? Surely there are better ways to solve our grievances with one another besides senselessly beating each other up!"
- Confrontation - He'd rather not be the target of someones anger or an argument. Stepping into one to stop it is fine, but he hates being called out on something and have to listen to someone yell at him or lay into him.
- Hospitals - After how the stress of his surgery and the post-op recovery, Raygin would be fine if he never had to step into another hospital again.
Likes:
- Talking - Oh god he just doesn't know when to shut up. Raygin is a chatter mouth, running it as much as he can whenever he can. Sure, he knows to be quiet when he has to be but the second that "no talking" sign is removed that mouth is open again.
- Being Funny - Well, Raygin thinks he is hilarious. Comedy is in the eyes and ear of the beholder, so while one person might find him hilarious another might find him annoying. Though, at the end of the day he just wants to make people laugh.
- Company - An extrovert at heart, Raygin loves being around people. People means things he can talk to and make laugh
- Monster Hunter - Okay...so he used some of the Kawada Money to get himself one of those N3ds things the Humans have. The first game that caught his eye had this big freakin dragon on it getting beaten up by a bunch of dudes with HUGE FREAKIN WEAPONS. He had to have it. He loves it. Don't get him talking about it.
- Katrina Kawada - Raygin likes a lot of people, but this one deserves special mention. She's a special someone to him, someone he can't quite imagine life being normal without. Sure, she gets mad at him a lot, but Raygin enjoys her and her company. She's a true friend, someone he can count on.
- Exercising - When Raygin still had his heart injury he was incapable of working out like he could. In fact, even simply exercises could leave him on the ground and crying in pain. After his surgery was a success he was able to resume his daily regime, albeit having to start over from scratch.
- Snack Foods - Oh my word, junk food is like the best food in the world. Raygin loves himself some chips, candy, soda, noodles. He loves to eat junk. It's so good but so bad.
Flaws:
- Joker - Raygin is one of those guys who things he is the funniest thing in the world. He loves goofing off, cracking jokes, and talking. This leads to two different people in the world. Those who find him funny and those who find him annoying.
- Low Self Esteem - Raygin looks down on himself to a ludicrous degree. He is often apologizing for himself, telling others he isn't competent to do something, or simply agreeing with peoples insults against him. He always trys to hide it with a smile, but despite the goofy demeanor, Raygin has a miserable outlook when it comes to himself.
- Forgetful - It's something many people have noticed about the young man. He is an incredibly forgetful person, easily messing up the name of somebody he has just recently met.
Habits:
- Pulling Pranks - He enjoys a good laugh at someone elses expense. Raygin will often pull innocent pranks, like filling up somones socks with pudding. It's funny and doesn't hurt anyone! Except Ray when the person comes back to beat him up.
- Training - Ever since he was given the greenlight to begin his training again, Raygin has thrown himself right back into his work out schedules. Sure, he had to start all over but hey at least it isn't hiding in his room!
- Saying Aye - It's just a odd word he picked up. "Aye, how are you?"
Fears:
- Caesar - There is only one man in the world that can instill genuine terror into the Shinigami. Not even the Primera himself can, initially, cause Raygin true fear. But Caesar? Raygin has a reaction even at just the mention of the mans name.
- Losing Himself - It happened before. He had fallen to despair once before. He can never allow himself to be taken away by despair again. Raygin has to remain strong. He cannot lose himself again.
- Becoming the Head of the Kawada - He's noticed it. The disappearances of the Kawada. There aren't many of them left, and Rays worried he might be forced to become the head of the Kawada.
Goals:
- Defeat Caesar - Raygin will make him pay. He will make the man atone for his crimes against the world. Somehow, it will be him that brings Caesar to his knees. All Raygin wants. All Raygin wants is for Caesar to say he's sorry and truly mean it.
- Obtain Bankai - There was a time where Raygin once had a Zanpakuto so close to him that he was able to achieve Bankai. Raygin wants it again, to unlock the ultimate level of power for his current weapon.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Overall Personality:
Personality time, huh? Ah, this is gonna take awhile. Hah. Okay! First things first; Raygins got a varied personality. He is usually happy, goofy, and lovable. Other times he is more quiet, reserved, and mature. Sometimes he is sad, depressed, and moopy. He is a very shifting personality that is usually determined by outside forces. Is Raygin bi-polar? Not really, he just has a wide range of emotions. His personalty is varied, but it isn't so varied he is multiple people.
First off, Raygin is a nice person. Ray is known for being one of the more humane Shinigami, and yes there are some Shinigami which would give Hollows and Akki runs for their money. Raygins kindness is one of his most defining features as it is one of the first things somebody will remember about him. Raygin is the sort of guy that will help you no matter the situation, lend you a shoulder to cry on, listen to your problems and try to make you feel better. He has good standing with the Rukongai civilians, being one of them for a number of years. Raygin is known for being a kind soul, it's one of his most defining features without a doubt. In fact, Raygin shares this kindness to people that he should consider his enemies which is something that has gotten him looked down on a bit recently.
Ray considers himself to be a clown. He likes to make people smile, laugh, and just have a good time. He is a natural born entertainer, always trying to bring out the laughter in people. That being said, his attempts at humor typically just make him look like a huge idiot. He doesn't tell very good jokes either, but he always tries at that's what matters....right? Anyways, Ray isnt above making a fool of himself to get a laugh out of someone else. He believes that life is hard, and a smile a day is good for ones health. Something that ties into this is that Raygin can get....over excited. If something interesting is happening, he gets interested in something, or gets to involved he has a bad habit of flying off the handle. He loves to have fun and laugh, and loves it when others do the same.
However, being a goof isn't all there is to Raygin. He has been known to act very mature and responsible when he needs to be. He is not a clown 24/7 anymore, he knows when its an okay time to have fun. This is why some people think Ray is bipolar. They get used to seeing the goofy side of him that when they see the "normal" side of him they think it's someone else. It's honestly quite silly to tell you the truth. People are silly! Raygin is a kind, respectable young man who would happily give you the clothes on his back if you needed them. Raygin is polite, showing people respect and referring to people with the honorifics they deserve. He shows women respect more so than anyone but Captains. Raygin is very chivalrous as well, and has no problems holding doors and getting chairs for women.
Raygin is a determined young man. He holds a lot of value in hard work, and is willing to pus himself to the extreme in order to figure something out or better himself. This is a semi bad habit, pushing himself. Raygins determination also credits to his desires to protect people. He dislikes death, even going as far as to outright refuse to kill people, and does whatever he can to stop untimely deaths. Its a shame he doesn't have a medical based Zanpakuto. Raygin will, without doubt, sacrifice himself in order to keep someone close to him from being killed. He is a hard worker, thats all that needs to be said.
However, Raygin does have his flaws. One of these flaws is his desire to not cause death. It's something that has marked him as a "weak warrior". In fact, it took Raygin twice as long to kill a Hollow than other students in his academy days (two hours of running around / dodging the hollow and not hitting it). He tried to convince the Hollow to stop being evil. Well, he finally managed to kill the Hollow because his teacher assured him that upon death a Hollows soul is purified and reborn in Soul Society as a Pluse, and that everything it had eaten would be purified as well. Still, Raygin doesn't like it. He doesn't like killing and goes out of his way to keep from killing someone. He had his life stolen from him at a young age and he cannot stand the idea of stealing someone else's life.
When it comes to fighting, Rays got some conflicted views on it. First off, he hates getting into fights and the idea of fighting. He's a peaceful person and would rather settle something through discussion or bartering. However, if Raygin gets into a fight he very easily falls into the typical Fighter mentality of loving it. In battle, Ray loves the rush of combat but he dislikes getting into fights. Silly, huh? He doesn't really like getting hurt either. He doesn't like getting into arguments either, being the kind of person who might do what someone says just to not start a fight.
Now, around women...Raygins not the brightest individual. Yes, Raygin treats a woman with respect. Yes, he knows the birds and bees. But something thats typically a issue with Ray is he is dense. When a woman tries to flirt with Raygin its like flirting with a rock, it just doesn't get through. It takes very persistent flirting to get to Raygin. This, however, does not mean Raygin is ignorant to love. But he is without a doubt heterosexual. Raygin is a romantic person, heavily believing in true love. He is not one who does casual sleeping around, rather he prefers to share the bed with a woman he loves. Yes, he slept around once and it was a three way but in his defense he was drunk! And zombies appeared afterwards! Alright! To sum it up; Rays the kind of guy that treasures and cherishes a woman he has fallen in love with! He's a loyal partner, never going behind his womans back or betraying her if he can. Moving on.
Racism? Ray, a racist? Hah! What a silly thought. No. Unlike most Shinigami who dislike another race by simply...being that race is not something Ray follows. So what if you're an Arrancar, Bount, Human, or Quincy? Who cares about that? It's the person you hate, not their race. Raygin doesn't care what race you are, because one person does not make up an entire race. Rays met Humans, Arrancar and other races that could arguably be good. However, there is one race Raygin will never believe can be "good". The Akki. Raygin believes the Akki are truly evil. The Vandenreich, on the other hand, holds mixed feelings for him. He believes they are brainwashed and need to be saved.
Raygin usually has his anger bottled up inside him, never letting it out. However, when Rays anger comes out it's typically explosive. Angry Ray will lash out at whatever has pissed him off to this point. Usually, his anger only comes out under a very few specific circumstances. Harming his friends, betraying him, trying to kill him, being evil, making him wear hakamas are just a few of the things that can make him angry. Rays anger can be either passive aggressive, or full on aggressive. Full on aggressive? Ray will be happy to punch you until he feels he needs to stop. Passive aggressive? Eh, he just wont like you and wont respect you.
A flaw Raygin has is that it is hard for him to let things go. A good example of this was his friend Hibiki, who Raygin saw as an idol and a rival. Raygin wanted to impress Hibiki and be seen as a equal and despite his death Raygin is still trying to do this and not moving on. Another issue Ray has is he that he lacks a solid resolve. His reason for fighting is shaky and is constantly shaking. He lacks a steady resolve for why he fights, and without one it hinders him in combat. Ray can also have random days of being depressed. He bottles up a lot of his negative feelings, and sometimes they slip out.
Rays a glutton. He has a appetite very similar to Son Gokus from the series, Dragon Ball Z, in that he is willing to eat anything and has a near bottomless stomach. Raygin has a wicked fast metabolism, letting him eat an entire meal then be ready to eat again in an hour. He loves meats, spicy things, sweet things, salty things. Raygin loves unhealthy foods, it being a seriously guilty pleasure of his to eat high calorie or carby stuff. Raygin isnt required to eat a impossible amount of food, but given the chances he is more than able to. This is why it's usually required at dinners or social gatherings that the amount of food Raygin eats is watched carefully, least he eat the all the servings.
