Kigen techniques are a line of abilities unique to Mod Souls; while many races have control over their own spirits and bodies, Mod Souls specialize in using their environment. This comes from their natural need to possess a temporary body or a Gigai in order to function; used to making use of the substance around them, Mod Souls can learn to extend this ability further, affecting the actual physical environment around their bodies. Kigen techniques focus on this, allowing Mod Souls to often assimilate and draw upon the natural substances around them. As they don't have a temporary body, Failures cannot learn these.

Technique Description and Effects: A Mod Soul's ability to reach out with its Reiatsu and take control of a body it inhabits is something truly unique. By simply surrounding itself with material, it can reach out, and make that substance its own body, take it in and use it as if it were part of itself, and for all intents and purposes, become its surroundings.
This technique works on the basic principle of the Mod Soul's ability to take over that which is within its surroundings. By having its Reiatsu extend from the body that it is physically inhabiting and branching tiny roots of it's own Reiatsu, the user implants them into the surroundings before taking them into their body, adding the material to the body they already inhabit, making it a part of them. In its most fundamental stages, this ability can simply be used to create a shell of material around the user from surrounding materials in very thin layers. In its most powerful of forms it can integrate entire landscapes and take control of them. While this extension allows them to sense changes in the controlled environment, they do not receive pain as a result of it. Additionally, control of the environment is effected by Skills such as Battle Focus, Strength of Will, and any other mental skill that would effect their ability to concentrate on manipulating it (Having multiples increases this further, allowing extraordinary control). In addition to control, both buffs and debuffs of a Reiatsu nature can be passed to the Mod Soul through the environment that they have extended into. This control of the environment does not extend to Reiatsu attacks such as Cero or Kido unless the attack manipulates physical material such as water or fire. In these cases it can be controlled so long as the user has Superior Reiatsu Strength to the attack's power. The environment manipulated maintains its properties, and aside from the Speed at which it moves (based on the Mod Soul's Reiatsu Strength) its features such as durability and malleability are unchanged.
At Class 8-6 the user can take in dust or spirit particles in the air and make it a part of themselves. In this most simple of forms, it is as if the air surrounding them is a part of them, allowing Mod Souls to sense anything passing through this air as if it were touching them. While this does not hurt, it is a useful sensory tool that can be used to notice incoming objects. The effective range of this ability is approximately three meters, extending to four meters at Class 7 and ten meters at Class 6. This process costs 100 reiatsu to initiate and lasts four posts before it needs refreshing.
At Class 5-4 the user can, in addition to sensing and branching their Reiatsu into their surroundings, fuse these dust or spirit particles to their skin in small layers, allowing them to actually use material they are in direct contact with. This enables them to add protective layers of material to their body in order to create a surface, much like a weapon. Areas of their body that have had this layer added to them can be considered like the edge of a sword or other weapon and can be used to attack and parry incoming slashes, though reiatsu-based attacks and the like will tend to weaken the bonds and cause the layers to peel away. At Class 5 this layer can be applied to any small patch of skin no more than ten square inches in area. At class four this increases to an entire limb. This process takes 150 reiatsu to initiate and lasts for five posts at Class 5 and seven posts at Class 4.
At Class 3, the user can extend their Reiatsu into their immediate surroundings for brief moments. Anything nonliving within five meters of their body can, for a brief moment, become as though it is a part of them. They will feel anything passing through it, and they will be able to manipulate the material within as if it were a part of their body. This lasts for roughly fifteen seconds, or about one post, and costs 175 Reiatsu to initiate every time
At Class 2 The user can spread their influence, making their surroundings part of them. This allows their soul to take root in their surroundings. With this active, they can freely manipulate their surroundings within five meters of their body indefinitely, as well as any material that COMES into this range. This ability costs 500 reiatsu to activate and lasts for eight posts.
At Class 1 The user can not only influence their surroundings, but completely fuse with it. Taking in ambient materials, a Mod Soul can modify whatever body they inhabit into a weapon using surrounding materials, transforming their body and taking on a much more intimidating form. For seven posts, this form can be maintained and utilized, though it cannot be refreshed for another three posts after that as the Mod Soul takes time to recover, blocking them from any Class level of use during this time.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): This uses the basic principle of a Mod Soul's ability to control a body it is placed within. To use, a Mod Soul Simply needs spread their spirit energy outside of that body in the form of tiny roots.
Technique Drawbacks Using this technique, the Mod Soul's surroundings becomes a part of them in every way, as such any poisons or negative ailment abilities can use the affected surroundings as a means of spreading their debuff to the Mod Soul itself. This technique's TTP cost depends on the level being mastered. 5 TTP at class 8, 10 at class 7, and so on. However, one's aptitude with the technique must be "Upgraded" when learning the next highest class, paying the new ttp cost in order to upgrade the Tech, making up for the cost as if you learned at a higher class. It also cannot be used to affect Seki Seki rock.

Technique Description and Effects: This technique utilizes the manipulation of air in order to create an offensive attack for the mod soul to use. By extending their roots into the air outside of their body, they can rapidly compress and twist the air in a confined space, creating a large amount of friction.
At base, this technique creates blades of heated air which can be used for combat, though the uses for this technique are quite diverse. Limited to the user's speed for blade movement.
At learned, this ability allows the user to create heated air currents in the shape of a blade. These blades do not have a direct damaging fire to them, but instead cause damage by sheer heat, causing objects that come in contact with the 'blades' to melt, burn, ect. Rather than blades, these areas can be considered zones of heat, and are much less visible than the version at proficient and mastered.
At Proficient and Mastered, this technique can be used to ignite the air from the friction, creating blades of fire which can burn and even cut through objects i addition to simple heating. The Learned version of this technique is still useable at higher levels.
At class 7 this technique is fairly limited. With the ability creating small knife-sized blades up to 12 inches in length. These are generally not incredibly useful against longer range weapons but they serve their purpose. Blades can only be up to three inches in width.
At class 6 this technique can create blades up to a meter in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 5 this technique can generate blades up to 2 meters in length and up to a foot in width.
At class 4 this technique can generate blades up to 4 meters in length and up to a meter in width.
At class 3 this technique can generate blades up to 8 meters in length and up to 2 meters in width.
At class 2 this technique can generate blades up to 16 meters in length and up to 4 meters in width.

Technique Description and Effects (Explain appearance, powers, and effect): This technique was devised as a means of attaining a proper body when a suitable one is unavailable. Developed by a group of mod souls that had been stranded in remote areas without any hope of finding a pre-made body for themselves. This technique uses Mod Root to reach into a Mod Soul's surroundings when it is in Pill form, and to use Ambient materials in order to possess inanimate objects or bodies that are compromised or otherwise are not properly built to be used as a body, such as a corpse or a toy without moving joints where the body is either too damaged or not made to attain motion, or an object which has suitable features but does not have an opening through which to be swallowed. By digging in and rooting themselves into the body and making slight adjustments, a Mod Soul will be able to possess ANY entity they might come across withing reasonable parameters, as opposed to having to rely on a conveniently ambient body that would be more naturally suitable.
At Class Seven, this technique allows the Mod soul to possess any reasonably shaped inanimate object so long as it has a somewhat feasably mobile body (A Stone statue would be useable, but not ab unshaped block of cement).
At Class Three, this technique goes beyond simply implanting into suitable bodies, but at this level the Mod Soul is actually able to drag in ambient material, shaped or not, and construct a body of their own design around their pill. And when this Technique is mastered at this Class, combined with a crafting skill of at least 2, they will even be able to convert any constructed bodies into a proper, functioning Gigai for repeated use.
Bodies attained using this technique must still comply to the strength:height standards outlined in Strength's stat description. Additionally a body will retain the Mod soul's stats.
Additionally, when molding these bodies, a Mod Soul cannot recklessly design them, requiring a careful balance for what they want the body to be used for. By Default, the body typically will retain the same amount of mobility as their normal body, as well as normal (aka whatever durability they would have based on strength and RS or through special techniques) durability. 100% Mobility, 0% extra durability.
However, by sacrificing some of their mobility, they can make the body less mobile, but more durable at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning that rather than 100% mobility (Speed remains the same) and 0% durability (No special defense), the user can sacrifice a percent, say 50 and wind up with 50% mobility (Speed is cut in half, 100 becomes 50) and 50% durability (50% of the user's offensive stat as extra durability). This conversion must happen at the time that the body is created.

For those who have simply Learned the ability, the body has trouble responding properly and as such whie using it, they suffer a 30% cut to instinct (after type). At the Profficient level, this is reduced to a 15% cut, and finally at Mastered, they can control the body as easily as any gigai or human body.
While this gives a lot of freedom as to the shape and size of the body the Mod Soul can inhabit. However, typically bodies taken up in this manner do not last very long. At learned, the body will at most last for six posts. At Proficient, this increases dramatically, to 12 posts. And at Mastered, bodies acquired in this manner can be converted sufficiently to the point where they can be used repeatedly without worry (However the user will need to pay for the new gigai as if it were am NPC of their current class if they wish to use it outside of the thread in which it was created.)
This Technique costs a hefty 100 reiatsu at class 7, increasing to 500 at Class 3. Additionally, this is NEVER a technique that should be used repeatedly. Every use beyond the first (within the same thread) will double the reiatsu cost, and every use beyond the fourth will result in further uses tripling the reiatsu cost. Technique Description and Effects: This technique is a mod soul discipline that typically is coupled with those who specialize in martial disciplines. By extending their invisible roots from their body, a Mod soul is able to extend what is considered a part of their gigai or body by assimilating their surroundings. This technique uses the air itself as an extension of the user's body in a physical manner. Using this technique, the user can extend the reach of their limbs by taking over the air around them. At class 6 this technique is capable of extending their reach by a full meter, allowing them to execute blows and attacks, making it seem as if they are using some sort of ranged attack. At class 4, this extends to 5 meters.
At Learned, this technique allows the user to execute attacks at 50% speed and strength, increasing to 75% at proficient, and 100% at Mastered.
How to use technique (How is it activated?): See Above
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) Costs 25 reiatsu per post at class 6, 75 reiatsu per post at class 4. Additionally, as with any Mod Root technique, this technique extends what is considered a part of the mod soul's body rather than manipulation through reiatsu, reducing the cost but making them vulnerable to contact-based hazards (Example: Poisons can spread to the mod soul through these roots). Additionally, Hidden hand extensions, while hard to see, are not infallable. Those with at least 100 senses will be able to see them (requirement increased by 50 for every point in stealth the user has, but reduced by 50 for every point in anti-stealth the target has).

Usable By : Mod Souls (Non-Giga, Non-Nakka)
Technique Description and Effects : This Technique is a True step technique, usable only by Mod Souls, specifically those who have not been tainted by hell or who have abandoned their pill form. This technique uses Mod Root to spread into the air around their bodies, completely eliminating wind resistance and even manipulating the air around them in order to shunt their bodies in any way they desire. Additionally, as the technique manipulates through mod root as opposed to bursts of reiatsu, this technique does not cause a flux in the user's reiatsu during use.
At Class 6, this is a simple step technique, only instead of being based on the user's feet being on a solid surface, this technique needs no solid base to perform, and simply shoves the user in any direction they wish at 8x their normal speed. Unlike most step techniques, this does not need to be performed in a straight line as, again, this is not simply launching from a single point, but consciously moving the user around using the surrounding air. At Profficient, the speed boost raises to 11x normal speed (increases cost to 100 reiatsu), and at Mastered the boost becomes 15x normal speed (Increases cost to 150 reiatsu).
At Class 4, this technique can not only apply to general movement and maneuvering, but also can be used to focus on a single part of the Mod Soul's anatomy in use for combat. This allows the tech to be used on a single limb. This boost is a flat 3x the user's base speed and only applies to the effected limb. At class 6 this technique is capable of extending their reach by a full meter, allowing them to execute blows and attacks, making it seem as if they are using some sort of ranged attack. At class 4, this extends to 5 meters.
At Learned, this technique allows the user to execute attacks at 50% speed and strength, increasing to 75% at proficient, and 100% at Mastered.

Technique Description and Effects : This Technique is a True step technique, usable only by Mod Souls, specifically those who have not been tainted by hell or who have abandoned their pill form. This technique uses Mod Root to spread into the air around their bodies, completely eliminating wind resistance and even manipulating the air around them in order to shunt their bodies in any way they desire. Additionally, as the technique manipulates through mod root as opposed to bursts of reiatsu, this technique does not cause a flux in the user's reiatsu during use.
At Class 6, this is a simple step technique, only instead of being based on the user's feet being on a solid surface, this technique needs no solid base to perform, and simply shoves the user in any direction they wish at 8x their normal speed. Unlike most step techniques, this does not need to be performed in a straight line as, again, this is not simply launching from a single point, but consciously moving the user around using the surrounding air. At Profficient, the speed boost raises to 11x normal speed (increases cost to 100 reiatsu), and at Mastered the boost becomes 15x normal speed (Increases cost to 150 reiatsu).
At Class 4, this technique can not only apply to general movement and maneuvering, but also can be used to focus on a single part of the Mod Soul's anatomy in use for combat. Technique Description and Effects: Mod Root is the base ability for a Mod Soul's ability to effect the gigai they have, as well as beyond. However, Mod souls are (in addition to effecting and integrating their surroundings into their gigai) also capable of turning that control inward. By increasing the concentration and consciously making an effort to modify their body's internal workings, a Mod Soul can demonstrate an incredible control over their body, inside and out.
At Class 5, this is a very superficial level of the technique. The Mod soul can modify very surface-level aspects of their body: Pigment, coloration, luster, and so on. At Learned, this is merely a cosmetic sort of application. At Proficient, this becomes detailed enough that a Mod soul can easily disguise themselves, transforming into almost an entirely new person, requiring a senses or ES of 75 (Increased by 75 for each point in Disguise or Acting, decreased by 75 per point the target has in Analysis) in order to be recognized. At Mastered, a mod soul is even capable of camouflaging themselves, requiring a target to have Senses equal to 100 (Increased by 75 per point in Disguise or Stealth, decreased by the target's Anti-stealth) in order to visually discern them, though this does nothing to disguise their reiatsu signature and they must remain stationary for this to work properly. This class of the technique costs nothing to use for the learned version, 25 reiatsu per post for the Proficient version, and 50 reiatsu per post for the Mastered version. Analysis can also be used by an enemy to see through these.

At this point, they are capable of full control over their circulatory system, capable of redirecting blood and all but eliminating their bleeding, so long as they have a 150 in Healing Expertise or a 2 in Damage Recovery. This costs 100 reiatsu to accomplish for each body part/section of the body (Leg, head, thorax).
At Class 2, the Mod Soul gains control over their own autonomous bodily functions. They can drop their body into a state of low-oxygen requirement to allow themselves to hold their breath for up to an hour (or 4 posts, whichever happens first) if they have this class Learned, they can pause their heartbeat or breathing for up to fifteen minutes (or 1 post, whichever happens first) if this ability is up to proficient, and they can even augment their brain's chemistry to eliminate addiction, physically-triggered illussions, or even stop the progress of a poison circulating through their body if they have this class of the technique mastered. Each of these modifications requires the use of 300 reiatsu, requiring a post of cooldown between uses, and require an OS superiority to do so, otherwise the user must pay 800 reiatsu.

At this level they can control their body to such an extent that they can keep their body running and functioning irregardless of damage. Using Mod Root, they can reattach body parts, maintain the mobility and function of a limb that is all but obliterated, and even continue to use their gigai despite the damage os major body systems or severe damage (But not complete destruction of) critical organs. This costs 300 (Increased to 400 at Mastered) reiatsu per post to accomplish, giving Mod Souls an ability to ignore damage even beyond a Quincy's Ransotengai. At Learned, portions of the Mod soul's body can keep functioning, but at 35% capacity (100 becomes 35) (65% lowered speed and strength, if it is the head, then senses are reduced by 65% , if it is the chest, then ES is reduced by 65%). At Proficient, this is increased to 50% capacity. At Mastered, the Mod Soul can maintain 80% functionality despite damage to the body, though destruction (As opposed to just damage) of the heart or Brain will still cause the gigai to lose the ability to continue functioning. Additionally, if a Mod Soul has HSR (250 HE), they can pay 200 reiatsu per post to regenerate damage to Vital organs over the course of 2 posts (First post brings destroyed vital organs to the 'Damaged' state, then to 'healed' the following post and thus no longer needs this technique to resume function) so long as the Mod Soul has a total of 6 points between Damage Recovery and Bleeding Tolerance. Only one MAJOR Vital organ can be regenerated at a time. Once a part of the body has regenerated, the stats return to normal.

Technique Description and Effects:
The nature of artificial souls is a complicated one, and the way they interact and perceive the world around them can be disturbing at times. Given that they have to spend ungodly amounts of time inside of stuffed animals early on in their lives, Mod Souls can go into a state of semi stasis, ignoring the world around them. As they grow more powerful however, they can unlock the ability to reverse the direction of their perception of the outside world. Whereas before, they could let the world pass them by several times as fast, using this technique, they can observe the world several times the speed they normally could, slowing it down to a crawl.
Time In A Bottle is an advance technique that alters the Mod Soul’s perception of the flow of Time. In rain, they can note individual drops falling, and watch them fall as if they were feathers. People seem to be statues, and even Shunpo appears as a slow motion step forward. With this technique, the Mod Soul is capable of noting the beginning of a motion, and starting to react the second their opponent decides the way they will attack. This effect is unnerving, and can easily make the opponent believe that their mind is being read, when in reality it is their body. Mechanically speaking, this technique doubles the Mod Souls current Instinct. This alteration only applies to the perception of time and objects, and doesn't grant other bonuses associated with Instinct, such as empathy with animals or weakness sensing. For all other Instinct related things, the Mod Soul uses their actual instinct.
How to use technique:
This technique is used by leveraging Reaitsu and altering the Mod Soul’s mind, effectively Overclocking their internal systems. Upon activation, the Mod Souls’ eyes dilate, and any breathing slows considerably.
Technique Drawbacks:
This technique doesn’t take effect instantly, and has a minimum “boot up” time of one post. The technique costs the normal amount of Reiatsu for it’s class. Energy Sensory is decreased by 20% while the technique is active, as external Reiatsu blurs together and becomes less defined as a side effect of the time dilation. This technique can be maintained up to 6 posts, but it’s drawbacks are more severe the longer it is maintained. Once the technique is ended, the Mod Soul must recalibrate their perception of time, reducing Speed by 10% per post the technique was maintained, ignoring the “boot up” post, for a number of posts equal to the posts that the technique was maintained. For instance, if the technique was used for the full 6 rounds, afterwards it reduces the Mod Soul's Speed by 60% for 6 posts.

Technique Description and Effects:
The nature of artificial souls is a complicated one, and the way they interact and perceive the world around them can be disturbing at times. Given that they have to spend ungodly amounts of time inside of stuffed animals early on in their lives, Mod Souls can go into a state of semi stasis, ignoring the world around them. As they grow more powerful however, they can unlock the ability to reverse the direction of their perception of the outside world. Whereas before, they could let the world pass them by several times as fast, using this technique, they can observe the world several times the speed they normally could, slowing it down to a crawl.
Time In A Bottle is an advance technique that alters the Mod Soul’s perception of the flow of Time. In rain, they can note individual drops falling, and watch them fall as if they were feathers. People seem to be statues, and even Shunpo appears as a slow motion step forward. With this technique, the Mod Soul is capable of noting the beginning of a motion, and starting to react the second their opponent decides the way they will attack. This effect is unnerving, and can easily make the opponent believe that their mind is being read, when in reality it is their body. Mechanically speaking, this technique doubles the Mod Souls current Instinct. This alteration only applies to the perception of time and objects, and doesn't grant other bonuses associated with Instinct, such as empathy with animals or weakness sensing. For all other Instinct related things, the Mod Soul uses their actual instinct.
How to use technique:
This technique is used by leveraging Reaitsu and altering the Mod Soul’s mind, effectively Overclocking their internal systems. Upon activation, the Mod Souls’ eyes dilate, and any breathing slows considerably.
Technique Drawbacks:
This technique doesn’t take effect instantly, and has a minimum “boot up” time of one post. The technique costs the normal amount of Reiatsu for it’s class. Energy Sensory is decreased by 20% while the technique is active, as external Reiatsu blurs together and becomes less defined as a side effect of the time dilation. This technique can be maintained up to 6 posts, but it’s drawbacks are more severe the longer it is maintained. Once the technique is ended, the Mod Soul must recalibrate their perception of time, reducing Speed by 10% per post the technique was maintained, ignoring the “boot up” post, for a number of posts equal to the posts that the technique was maintained. For instance, if the technique was used for the full 6 rounds, afterwards it reduces the Mod Soul's Speed by 60% for 6 posts.
