Physical Description:

Like all others of the Beast Clan, Umaroth is cursed to take on the form of a beast. Most of the other clans because creatures of fur, but not Umaroth. Rather, he became a creature that struck fear into the hearts of others. He mirrored a set of animals that both fascinate and horrify the world. Umaroths body became covered in scales; his body sprouted horns and from his behind came a long tail. This member of the Beast Clan is a Reptile, a fierce one at that. It is obvious he is a sort of lizard, more close to a crocodilian in fact.

Umaroth is a tall figure, standing approximately six feet and four inches tall. Umaroths body is built, toned from the years of feral survival and swimming. He has obvious definition of muscle beneath those scales, yet remains rather slim. His body is one designed for fast movement both on land and in the water, as such a body that is nothing but a mountain of muscle would only hinder the Beast. He is, however, far large in terms of muscles when compared to the normal human. His body is covered head to toe in black scales. He is not a creature of beauty, and his scales reflect this by being dull in color, not being some sort of sparkly show of wonder. Being black in color is perfect for this creature, as the dark coloring allows him to hide much easier in the depths and absorb heat from the sun much quicker. 

One of the most prominent features of this beast however is not his scales, but is in fact his tail. Umaroths tail comes right out above his butt, a long thick appendage similar in shape to that of an iguana. Along the top of tail running its length are small dorsal fines, like those carried by crocodiles. Starting from the tip and working up are a set of jagged spikes, angled slightly to point towards the tip of his tail. The spikes only go up so far though, to about three fourths of his total tail length, speaking of length his tail about twice as long as one of his arms, so around four feet in length. It's not as dexterous as an ape's tail, but Umaroth can use it quite well. Its primary function is when is that it is used for swimming and combat.

Moving on from his tail we get to his head. Bright blue eyes look back at those who look at him, studying them and watching, eyes that are full of both caution and intelligence. He also has two sets of eyelids, a normal set for closing his eyes as well as a nictitating membrane, which is what he closes over his eyes when he is underwater. Two jagged horns sprout from the top of his head, along with three along the sides of his mandibles. Along the top of his head, besides the horns, is his own version of hair; feathers. This further cause's confusion on what, exactly, Umaroth is supposed to be. Inside his mouth are rows of razor sharp teeth, perfect for sinking into the delicious meat of fresh water fish. The meat in his mouth is pink, and his tongue is rather human like in appearance but larger than the average humans. Umaroth also possess a palatal flag in the back of his throat, a rigid tissue that blocks water from entering. This palate also has a special connection to his nostrils, which close as well when he is submerged.

The structure of Umaroths body is designed for both bipedal and four legged movement on the land, but to a keen eye it is clear that he was built more for water. His body is streamlined; the spikes that grow from his body are angled in a way that they give minimal resistance in the water. Umaroth sports a pair of lungs capable of holding his breath for two hours underwater, granted that is if he is relaxed and not exerting himself otherwise it ranges from fifteen to thirty minutes, further supporting the fact that Umaroth is an aquatic reptile. With his claws, his teeth, his horns, and the design of his body, it's obvious that Umaroth is an aquatic predator.

❋Personality❋

Dislikes:

• Humans - There is just something about them. Sure, not all of them are bad but the way they look at him. Umaroth just doesn't like the way people look at him, like he is some sort of freak. He is perfectly natural.
• Losing - Umaroth has natural born arrogance and pride. Ever since he began living in the lake he has never lost a fight, always defeating the Hollows that intruded on his territory. So now that he has begun to meet others he has realized how hard it is to accept a loss.
• Vegetables - Yuck. Give him meat, he doesn't want rabbit food.
• Being Dominated - This ties into his pride and hatred of losing. He despises having someone on top of him, someone above him. He's the one that has to be on top. He is a natural born alpha, something that he must make a reality. 
• Hollows - Filthy disgusting horrible tasting monsters that try to take his lake. There is nothing good about them and Umaroth is completely fine with destroying them all.
• Weakness - He looks down on those weaker than him, viewing them as little more than trash. It's a survival of the fittest situation in this world, those who cannot survive need to depend on the strong in order to do so.
• Clothing - It's so restrictive. Why do humans wear it? He doesn't understand it at all. Are people worried about his genitalia? They're tucked up inside him anyways so what's the problem?

Likes:

• The Water - It's fairly obvious that this is one of Umaroths likes. He, himself, is an amphibious reptile, spending most of his time in one of the Rukongais few lakes. He feels most at home under the water.
• Fish - The most delicious of marine life. Umaroth has lived off of fresh fish for as long as he can remember. He has no problem eating them raw, having never had cooked fish in his life. His favorite food, without a doubt, is any fish.
• Fighting - Combative by nature, this Beast has no problems going toe to toe with any of the beasts of the Rukongai. Even if it means he will lose, he sees it as an opportunity to both know his limits and to improve himself. The respect he gets from others if he wins is also nice. 
• Sleeping - Nothing beats a mid day nap, the sort you want after your eyes begin to get heavy from working all day. Coming from a species of rather lazy reptiles, Umaroth adopted their tradition of lounging around asleep.
• Lounging - Ties into sleeping, but sometimes he just doesn't want to sleep. He often simply enjoys lying around and doing nothing, being relaxed.
• Eating - He's a natural born gluten. He has the self control to resist simply stuffing his face, but he wouldn't mind doing so. He often eats more than he is supposed to, but can usually burn off what he's eaten by swimming the lake a few times.  
• The Quiet - It's peaceful when one can simply lay down and sleep without worry of some loud noise awakening you. He enjoys the quiet, the sound of nothingness. It's relaxing to the reptile.
• Sunlight and Warmth - He doesn't understand it, nor does he care to try, but Umaroth has a deep seated love for everything warm and sunny. If it weren't for the fact some asshole Rukongai Plus would try to stab him, Umaroth would happily lay about on the shore of his lake all day and soak in some rays. For now he is content to simply drift along the surface.

Flaws:

• Arrogance and Pride - Umaroth has a natural arrogance about him. This was formed due to his constant victories over Hollows when he was defending his territory from them, as such he is very much prideful of his talents and abilities and sees himself stronger than others, even those who are clearly stronger than him. 
• Issues with Trust - In the past, during his first few months of existence in the Rukongai, Umaroth would show himself to people more often than he does now. He was met with ridicule, with violence and attacks, so much so that Umaroth is now hesitant to allow people to get close to him. The way he was treated by others in the past has affected him to this day, causing him to act violently to most people to drive them away from him. He prefers his life of solitude and sees no reason it should change.
• Unwilling to Give Up - Even at the cost of greater injury, Umaroth has difficulties giving up. This ties into his Arrogance and Pride Flaw, but deserves its own segment. His pride will not allow him to surrender in fights unless he has absolutely no chance. If even a slimmer of victory exists for him he will push on. Fighting is what this Beast knows best, being a true predator and what not. 
• Easy Irritated - At his own weakness, his own flaws, outside sources, Umaroth has a long list of things that cause his feathers to get rustled. He's often able to ignore the outside sources that cause him irritation, but his own flaws and weaknesses will put him in an incredibly bad mood.

Habits:

• Lounging Around - Well, if he isn't swimming, fighting, or eating he will often be found simply lying around. He will ever be sleeping, relaxing, soaking in some rays, or simply watching people go on about their day.
• People Watching - Umaroth is not often a curious Beast, not being taken in by shiny things or other simple pleasures. But one things that does get him is watching. He will often lay around, one eye closed while the other focuses on people moving around and going about their day. He's a great listener, as so long as you remain relaxed so will he. Just don't start shouting around him.
• Swimming - Is there anything better? The cool water against your skin, the feeling of weightlessness, the ability to glide great distances with just little shakes of your body. There is nothing greater than swimming in a great body of water.

Fears:

• Defeat - For him, defeat is a fear that he must have the courage to fight against. Losing is his greatest shame as a predator. Those he fights are his prey, he must come out on top.
• Humans - A deep fear that is seemingly never brought up. Umaroth was hunted by humans in his earlier months in the Rukongai before he hid in the lake. While he can tolerate, even befriend them, he has a fear of humans and what they are capable of. 

Goals:

• Become the Strongest - He never wants to lose again. He never wants to face the embarrassment of losing. He will become strong. He will become the strongest. He will defeat, he will crush, he will destroy everyone who stands against him. 
• Reach the Bottom of the Ocean - Umaroth has heard about the great lake in the human world, the one that spans over seventy percent of their world. He dreams of seeing it, of swimming in it. But in order for Umaroth to endure the ocean and its pressure he needs strength. He needs to become strong.
• Find a Pack - He will never tell anyone this, but he desires companionship. He's lonely, wanting to feel like he belongs somewhere, to be wanted and loved. He wants friends, but his own pride and inability to trust others has caused him to push many people away.

Overall Personality:

Where does one begin when describing Umaroths personality? On the surface this Beast appears nothing more than a simple creature, yet deep down has a rather interesting set of characteristics. It is best to discuss the most obvious parts first, then delving deeper into his psyche. To begin, Umaroths behavior is most like that of a reptile, particularly that of a crocodile. He is best described as cautious, lazy, and hungry. These are not ample enough descriptions, so let's get right into it, starting with lazy.

As said before, Umaroth is an incredibly lazy member of the Beast Clan, having spent many years living within the same lake in the Rukongai, asleep. The aquatic reptile is content to sink to the bottom of the lake and doze off, only being bothered to move when it's time for him to acquire more oxygen. He's lethargic as can be; only doing things if he has to or it interests him. For him, sleeping is the only entertainment he needs most of the time. Even though he has to wake up to breath every couple of hours, it never seems to bother him. He simply swims to the surface, breaths for a few minutes, then falls asleep and sinks back to the bottom, letting his natural instincts wake him up when he needs to breathe. Umaroth was once not so picky where he lounged, even coming ashore quite frequently to absorb the rays of the sun.

Though lazy by nature, Umaroth is an aggressive member of the Beast Clan. When it comes to individuals and creatures he is not familiar with he responds aggressively, usually with a show of force to intimidate or frighten away whatever it is that is bothering him. Territorial by nature, he is not hesitant in attacking something he deems as a threat even if that thing happens to outclass him in every way. He is a natural born fighter, a predator, unrelenting in his attacks and ferocity. Quick to anger, in fact, and easily irritated. When he has gained the ability to speak he even comes off as a rude individual, uncaring and insulting actually. He looks down on weakness, seeing those weaker than him as scum or trash unfit to survive.

Umaroth is not one to back down from a fight, even if he were to be losing. While he will hide if it benefits him in battle, such as when he can launch a sneak attack, he will not retreat no matter what. Some think that the beast is foolish for this, willing to risk himself further injury because he will not surrender. This is because Umaroth is a prideful creature. He has lived for a long time as the alpha predator in his world, as such this as caused him to develop an incredible amount of pride. He sees it as an insult to himself to lose, to back down if there is even a sliver of a chance he can come out on top. A beast like this is not one wants to fight, as only death would stop it.

Umaroth was an beast who didn't know what it meant to have comrades or friends, to belong to a pack and rely on one another. He has only ever relied on himself to survive, so the idea of friends or a pack is alien to him. But, to say that having Umaroth as a friend is a bad thing would be a lie. It's hard for the beast to make friends, or to feel close to someone, but to those that become close to him realize just how powerful of a friend Umaroth is. He is deathly loyal to his pack and friends, willing to protect them even at the cost of himself if the bond is strong enough. Insults to his friends are insults to him. He takes care of his own, protects and supports them.

Unlike most of the other Beast Clan, Umaroth is not a totally curious individual. Some things now and then pique his interest, but often times his own laziness keeps him from satisfying those desires. Shiny things, for example, both bore and irritate him, causing him to ignore them completely. The only things Umaroth that pique his curiosity that he cannot ignore is the possibility of food. The predator is a glutton, happily eating anything he can get his mouth around. An odd habit of the Beast is his tendency to watch people. During his time in the lake he would often poke his head above the water, watching the villagers in the Rukongai continue on with there daily lives. People watching is a relaxing activity for him, though he often has no interest in doing it himself. He's not as curious as most of the Beast Clan, but he has his moments.

Fighting Style:

How does a beast fight? To fight against a beast it to pit yourself against the force of nature itself. Some beasts fight with force, others fight with stealth and speed, some take to the air to bombard their opponent, while others use poison to gain an advantage. Mother nature as given all her children the necessary weaponry to survive in this harsh world, so why would she not bless the most unorthodox of her flock? The Beast Clan all fights with their bodies, using their natural weaponry to defend them self and survive. Fangs, claws, legs, tails, all of them is a weapon that is meant to be used. Though, each of the Clan fights in their own unique way. Umaroth is no exception to this.

He is a ferocious combatant, seeking to absolutely destroy an opponent he is fighting. As Umaroth is a territorial creature, having to fight off Hollows to keep his home safe, he has been honed to show no mercy as he fights. Ripping and tearing, crushing and smashing, Umaroth fights to destroy. His fighting is often accompanied by roars, asserting his dominance over his opponent. Umaroth is not afraid of getting dirty, as that concept does not exist for him. Survival is all that matters in a fight, rules of honor do not exist for him

Umaroth is a natural fighter, of that there is no question. One look at this Beast is all someone needs to tell that he is a dangerous predator, skilled in both fighting on land and in the water. The first thing to note is that Umaroth is a fast individual, preferring to use his incredible speed to outmaneuver his opponent. Whether on two legs or four, he is capable of incredible bursts of speed and maneuverability. He uses this speed to his advantage, going in for fast attacks before retreating to a safe distance once again.

But speed is not Umaroths biggest strength. What has allowed him to survive for so long is the strength he possesses. Umaroth is fast, but his speed pales in comparison to the monsterous strength his body possesses. Combining that strength with his claws, Umaroth is capable of ripping right through flesh as if it were paper. His claws are as dangerous as any Zanpakuto, making each of his hands a dangerous weapon in their own right. It's not just his hands either, though, but his feet as well. Each toe ends with a wicked claw, which can easily cut open an opponent if a kick is landed.

Umaroth fights with his claws and legs, mostly with slashing and kicking movements. He doesn't have martial arts training, fighting instinctively for the most part. Using fast movements combined with his intense physical strength, Umaroth seeks to cut his opponents into little ribbons. But simply cutting with his claws is not all he does. The Beast also knows how to throw a punch, though doesn't prefer it due to his claws having the possibility of penetrating his skin if he does.

Claws and legs though are not Umaroths only weapons. There was one more limb he possess that has not yet been addressed. The tail that extends out from his back is as much a weapon as his arms and legs. Umaroths tail is used much like a whip, though being hit with it is more like being hit with a log. Umaroth uses his tail primarily to slap his opponents if they try to get around them, easily breaking skin or bones if it comes into contact. The spikes along the top of it also serve as a penetrative weapon, making his tail even more dangerous.

Umaroth does have one other method of attack though. As a Beast it should be obvious that he uses this to fight as well. His mouth. Filled with razor sharp teeth designed perfectly for tearing into meat, Umaroth might attempt to sink his teeth right into his opponent. Once his jaws clamp down, much like a crocodile, he will not let go. Just like a crocodile he will twist and turn his head to do as much damage as possible, even attempting to perform the fearsome Death Roll maneuver. It is advised to avoid his mouth as best you can.

Umaroths dark coloring and fast movement also enable him to be rather stealthy if he needs to. Darting between structures, or around enemies, he can reposition himself to find a shadowy spot to attack from. When choosing to use the shadows and art of stalking, he will make quick dashing attacks before returning to a hiding spot, aiming to confuse and confound the opponent.

His stealth though does not work quite as well on land as it does in his other fighting environment. It was mentioned earlier that Umaroth fights as well on land as he does in one other environment, though it is arguable that it is even more dangerous to face this beast in his true element. The water. Lakes, especially large ones, are rare in the Rukongai due to the constant arrival of new souls needing homes. But one lake remain untouched due to rumors of a deity living within it. For many years Umaroth has lived in a great body of water, his body designed and honed for swimming.

In the water his speed is unhindered, undulating through the water like that of a crocodilian using his tail to its fullest. He has no trouble maneuvering in the water, his body truly designed for swimming. He moves through the water with the speed of a torpedo, yet can make sharp turns on a dime and ridiculous maneuvers without much effort. With his dark coloring and speed, black and murky waters are a perfect hiding place for him in the water. His movement with his limbs is barely restricted while under the water, as he is simply too strong to be bothered by water resistance.

When fighting beneath the waves his most common tactics are to bombard the opponent in blows and cuts, aiming to knock as much of the breath out of them as he can. His plan while underwater is to simply drown his opponent, dragging them as far down to the bottom as he can and as often as he can. He knows that unlike him most other creatures cannot survive underwater, they have a very short timer on how long they can hold their breath for. Drowning is how he has often dealt with Hollows that invaded his territory. He also uses the spikes growing off of his mandibles to cut and sheer enemies he swims past.

Yaseishin Name Ryuken (Dragons Fist)

Yaseishin Apperance: 

When Umaroths Yaseishin is activated the parts of his body that are affected are primarily his arms. Upon the activation of Ryuken, Umaroths arms begin a serious transformation. Specific parts of the forearm, particularly around the wrist and hand, are coated in a thick shell like material that seems to be made from Umaroths very scales. These particular scales are incredibly hardened, durable enough to withstand the multiple pummeling they give. These shells cover his arms and hands, though leaving the underside exposed so that his hands are free. The shells are designed to cover and protect his hands, growing over his knuckles like a hood but still allow full finger movement. They are rather similar in design and function to boxing gloves. The gloves are incredibly durable, being harder than most of the rest of Umaroths body, equaling his strength in terms of durability.

The second feature of the Ryuken Yaseishin is what it produces. The shells that cover Umaroths hands are only the first part. The second is the green mold that is endlessly produced on the shells. It stays on the shells on Umaroths arms until it comes into contact with something else. Yellowish green in color it is a stark contract to the dull black scales of Umaroths body. Using Yaseishin has some other features as well. Small, dark colored patterns swirl around the horns that are sprouting from his head, like a tribal war paint. His blue eyes turn into a glowing green color. Small, jagged, dorsal spikes also grow from his back slightly, and the horns on his head seem to be longer now. The feathers on the back of his head now become a shade of incredibly dark red, becoming slightly longer now as well. His chest also becomes covered in tribal warior patterns.

Yaseishin Overall Ability: 

It's about time we finally get to the bread and butter of this character. What sort of ability does this Beast Clansmen, a predator like this, possess that makes him so truly feared? The secret is in the mold. We discussed how his Yaseishin, the Ryuken, causes a seemingly endless amount of green mold to be produced on Umaroths newly formed fists. This mold is the real danger of the Yaseishin. To begin, we must first address that this is not a poison. Umaroth is not a creature to use poison in battle, to use raw power and destruction to overcome his opponents. His nature has caused the development of this power, something that makes him stand out as possibility the most destructive of the Beast Clan.

The mold covering Umaroths fists is not by any means poisonous, it is in fact something else. But first lets address a few properties the mold itself has. When this mold comes into contact with anything, save for Umaroth himself, it spreads onto whatever it was that has been touched nearly instantly. The mold is incredibly fast growing, especially when in contact with the special chemicals in Umaroths scales, so it is able to self replicate itself instantly. When in contact with something else, like the environment or another person, it is still incredibly fast growing. Each post the mold grows in twice its current size, spreading across whatever it is that has become its new host. For Umaroth to begin producing the mold to begin with, he has to pay 100 reiatsu at the activation of his Yaseishin. The mold itself is physically impossible to get off, as touching it will cause it to instantly spread and grow onto whatever it has come into contact with.

So what, it's just self growing mold. That's not really befitting of Umaroths nature. No, simply growing is only part of what Umaroths Yaseishin is capable of. While in contact with Umaroths scales its effect is not activated, but when it has spread onto something else the timer begins. Ryukens mold is actually incredibly volatile, primed when the chemicals in Umaroths scales are taken away from it. Once the mold has come in contact with something and has spread onto it it has a total of three posts to grow until it explodes. Violently. 

Ryukens mold is a timed explosive, primed when the chemicals that keep it docile are removed. After three posts of growing they explode with a force equivalent to a grenade. These explosions are devastating, being able to blow apart the bodies and deal fatal injuries to opponents who have been marked. The mold itself is impossible to get off, as simply touching it causes it to spread onto the hands or weaponry of whatever has touched them. Of course, the more of the mold someone has on them the more powerful the explosion is. As there body continues to be covered in the mold, it stands to reason that the explosion will obviously be bigger and deal much more damage to a wider area. There is also the fact that Umaroths explosions generate a lot of heat, 587 degrees Fahrenheit to be exact. Even after Yaseishin ends any mold not attached to Umaroths scales remains until it explodes.

As powerful as the Ryuken is, it does in fact of a weakness. It shares this weakness with all manner of mold, a universal weakness in fact. Fire serves as the achilles heel of Ryuken. Applying fire to the mold causes it to die, the specific portion that is being burnt however. Fire is the only weakness of Ryuken, but it is also its greatest weakness. The only mold that is killed is what pieces that fire itself is touching, but the person also runs the risk of burning themselves while getting the mold off. Only fire itself works, not heat or lasers of any kind. Just fire. The mold isn't flammable so fire wont spread across it, it's simply the direct application of it.

Technique Name: [Shunpo (Flash Steps)]

Technique Description and Effects:

A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the bases of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded far easier in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by 10 times. Uses 50 Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. ALL shinigami know this when created. This technique does not take up a technique slot.

How to use technique:

A focus of reishi around the feet area, and then launching off into a single step which blurs, not unlike teleportation in appearance, except it is simply extremely fast movement. Often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat, or to dodge incoming attacks.

Technique Name: Advanced Air Ground

Technique Type: Spiritual Technique

Technique Description and Effects:
This is a technique designed especially for breakdancing and parkour, utilizing a more advanced version of air ground. While in a terrain where air ground exists, the user can create more complex surfaces like air walls, air ceilings, air ledges and even an air push. This allows the user to perform handstands and windmills on air as if it were normal ground or even stand upside-down on air as if gravity was reversed. The air push makes the air ground very elastic so that the user can jump higher and allows for slight movement even when restrained by a bakudou.

For a reiatsu cost of 25, the user will be able to momentarily cast an "air ground" on areas such as soul society and heuco mundo, allowing the user to "double jump" or cast shunpo in midair. If this technique is mastered, the user will be able to create air grounds that last for as long as a post. This can be used in creative ways to improve acrobatics and visual impressiveness.

Technique Description and Effects:
A basic technique, but one that enhances the abilities of a Beast-Clan's natural weapons immensely. By focusing Reiatsu in areas where they possess a natural weapon (i.e. spines, fangs, claws, stingers, etc), a Beast-Clan member can alter that portion of their body and change its composition so that it is as hard as spiritual steel. Not only does this make these weapons harder to damage or break, given the fact that they are based on the user's Reiatsu abilities, but this also increases the user's attack stat by 10%, but only as it relates to cutting. It also increases the length of natural weapons by a small amount, usually a few inches for claws, fangs, or spines, and very little more for anything else.

There are two versions to this technique. The Class 6 version is a brief, one-shot burst of transformation that lasts for all of one strike and then fades away. This allows the user to deal quick blows to pierce armor, but at the cost of draining more Reiatsu in the long run than a more permanent transformation. And speaking of permanent transformations, the Class 5 version lasts much longer. When activated, the higher version of Steelfang allows the transformation to remain for a total of three posts. This is increased to five posts if this technique is mastered. Additionally, the cutting strength increase goes up to 25% if this technique is mastered, but is only based on which versions are mastered.

Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc)
The first drawback is cost; this technique costs 50 Reiatsu per use for the Class 6 version, and 100 Reiatsu per use for the Class 5 version. It can be deactivated at any time. The Class 5 version also has a one-post cooldown after its effects end, whether voluntarily or when the duration runs out. Note that this cooldown means it cannot apply to any attacks used in previous posts, even if in the current one your attack has not landed, and that the Class 6 version cannot be used during this cooldown as well. In addition, each version must be learned and mastered individually, with the effects of mastery only applying to the versions the TP has been spent for. This technique still only takes up one slot regardless of versions learned.

History:

The reptiles origins into the Rukongai were sudden, as if he were a newborn opening his eyes for the first time. His life as a human was gone, the memories being nothing more than fleeting dreams he could not remember no matter how hard he tried. Whoever he was in the past life was gone. Umaroth found himself alone, finding no creatures that looked like him at all. He found himself in one of the higher districts of the Rukongai somehow, hungry and alone, only to be chased away for the way he looked. It was common in the higher districts for the Beast Clan to be treated poorly, to be seen as nothing more than Hollows.

So Umaroth was pushed further away from the center of this world, further out into the poorer districts of the Rukongai. He found his way into the forty fourth district, having to rely on stealing food from others in order to survive. Umaroth was not some lost kitten though, he knew that while he had nobody he could rely on didn't mean he was defenseless. He had his claws and his teeth, the only allies he needed. He was vicious, the wild taking over him and making him little more than a savage beast. As he ventured further out into the Rukongai, each district he visited would always have someone who would be injured by him.

It never started out as him attacking, it was always him defending himself. All Umaroth wanted was a place to belong, a place to be safe. There was one night in the forty seventh district where everything went wrong. It was supposed to be simple, sneak into a house and steal some food. Umaroth had watched that house for some time, knowing that the inhabitants had left for a friends. It was supposed to be so simple. He would sneak in, grab the food, and go. But when he was inside he was startled by the sudden appearance of the home owners wife, who has returned home early for something she had forgotten. In fright Umaroth struck her, fleeing from the building with a mouthful of whatever he could grab.

The woman's husband and his friends began to try and hunt Umaroth down, coming close numerous times. They chased him through numerous districts, there rage giving them seemingly endless stamina. Their swords wanted him, and Umaroth could not fight against so many at once. So he ran, deeper into the Rukongai and further away from people. He would find something, anything, where he longer needed to be seen. Somewhere he could survive and be alone.

He would find his home in the fifty first district of the southern Rukongai. He had eluded his hunters at last, roaming the country side of this remote district. He was starving, thirsty, and tired. He could feel his body was running on fumes. He feared his body would simply collapse on him, until his feet stepped into something wet. No, not that sort of wet. The sort of wet that was water. Looking down Umaroth finally began to become aware off his surroundings. He was standing in mud, the simple of pressure of his foot brought water to the surface.

Where there was water there had to be a source. So Umaroth searched, following the water soaked ground until he found a river. He submerged himself instinctively, swimming upstream with a joy he had not known since his time in the Rukongai. He felt safe, he felt at home. He followed the river until it opened up into a gargantuan lake, the size of which he could barely comprehend. Bountiful with fish he ate his fill, slumbering in the bottom of the lake for a few hours before needing to breath. He had found his eden, his home.

Umaroth remained in that lake for many years, many many years. It was his home, the place where he belonged. It was then that things began to change. He came ashore one day, spying a deer amongst the trees and wanting to eat it. Once he had emerged from the water he heard a gasp, looking to the side and seeing a small human girl looking at him. The two were frozen, looking at each other before Umaroth growled, those feathers on his head standing straight up in a show of intimidation. It didn't seem to work, the little girl simply standing there with her jaw dropped. Umaroth wanted to attack her, his hatred for humans burning strongly. But, she was so small. He couldn't bring himself to harm a child.

So he returned to the lake, and soon the rumors of the Naga began. He would be encountered every now and then, couple times a year. That little girl though was always the one who saw him the most. Eventually, at some point, Umaroth became slightly comfortable with her presence, even coming to her summons for him. She would talk his ears off about her day, while all he would do was float in the water and listen. He was intrigued by her words, listening and learning. He would never say a word to her, only listen and learn. She would feed him as well, so that was a plus. Then he would return to the depths to resume his normal activities of survival. But after so many years of doing nothing but swimming, something would eventually change.
