Nycha wasn’t surprised when Garret declined her offer to stop by her hotel room to dry off. She was a little crazy to think a random stranger who quickly became friends with her, would want to go to her hotel room to dry off his clothes and talk with her alone. In part, she was somewhat glad he didn’t as she realized her crazy request only after he declined. Her stomach gave off another growl, this one a little louder than normal, which made her grab at her stomach. She thought to herself, ‘Settle down. We’re going, we’re going.’ The stomach growl made her a little embarrassed and hoped that Garret didn’t hear it and if he did, that he would simply laugh it off instead of comment on it.
As he walked over and picked his sword up, he did so with much ease as far as she saw it. She couldn’t even attempt to fathom just how much it weighed and guessed that was partially a reason why he was so strong. As he got himself set right, he spoke of the hotel as an inn and restated that it wasn’t a good idea to go into town. Was he bipolar? First he agreed to go get something to eat and now he wanted to stay out of town. She wasn’t going to eat some fish from the river, that wasn’t that good of an idea. Then he changed his statements once again and wanted to see what the cuisine was in this age. It was obvious he had spent too much time in Soul Society and hadn’t been to the human world to enjoy the delicious food that was around.
“Are you alright? Did I hit you a little too hard with that last attack? Do you need some of my healing? You’re acting a little weird stating one thing and then changing it in a moment. If you need something from me, just ask. Yes the hotel is similar to an inn and yes it is safe for you to go into town, I’m with you remember. I’m taking you to the steakhouse next to the hotel. You’ll enjoy it better than that venison you had in your bag,” she stated, “Just follow me.” Without hesitation, she turned and began walking towards the restaurant. Nycha expected him to follow her. She could tell by his energy if he was or not and if he wasn’t she could persuade him to.
The route wasn’t too long and they made the small hike within a half an hour. The town was filled with buildings of all sizes. The streets held vehicles that zoomed by them at high speeds. People lined the sidewalks on both sides of the street. It was surely much different from Soul Society was and there was nothing but cement and asphalt instead of grass and trees. Of course, people stared at her as she walked due to her appearance. Nycha was used to it though and didn’t let the stares or random yelling comments from the people she passed by bother her.
Within a few more minutes, they had arrived at the steakhouse and Nycha opened the door for Garret. Hopefully,he had kept up with her and would simply enter into the restaurant and smell the delicious aroma that was emitted. As soon as he had entered, she would follow him in and head to the employee at the greeters counter. “Table for 2 please,” she asked the employee. At first, the employee didn’t know what to say or act as she had entered the building and asked the request. After a few moments she lead them to a table and Nycha sat first and ushered Garret to do the same.
When the waiter arrived, he asked what she wanted to drink and simply ordered water for them both. She also placed an order for 2 steak and potato platters with a medium rare cook. The waiter gave her a weird look before disappearing and placing the order. “I hope you don’t mind me ordering for you. I figured you would like whatever I ordered since you don’t know much about the cuisine here. So, tell me some more about yourself before the food arrives. Where do you live? Anything special about yourself besides your curse?” she asked him.
She wanted to get to know him better so that she could better train him. The more she knew, the more she could use what he knew to help him out as well as have the information for her. Of course, Nycha would give more about herself, but she was curious to find out as much as she could about him.
