Thread Title: Archer and Dragon Participants: Shibō Taitan and Vannan Harper World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: The battle takes place in a small village. It's within the country and near forests. The sun is low in the sky. Strange colors form on the horizon as it darkens. Special Conditions: None Circumstances: Shibō was alone in the village at night. Staring at the beauty of stars he so truly admired. He thought he was alone in his first time in the human world. That was a very false prediction.
Wind..... was the first thing he felt. As he stepped into the human world. For his first time in the afterlife. The home he longed to roam once more. There was only one memory he had. Death.... from a monster that had also killed his best friend and brother Jacob. Why? Why did it have to be those two? Only at the age of 18 he had died. So young.... too young.... Shibō had vowed to destroy every monster even remotely related the one whom killed Jacob and him.
His hair flew wildly in the air. So much wind in the village. The night made it even worse. No sun for warmth, the cold wind brought with it a harsh bite. Any normal being would have sneezed and coughed their lungs out. That was one of the perks of being what the other people called a "Shinigami." Shibō looked back up at the night sky. The blue was nearly gone. Now it was a very dark blue color. No need to worry, there was a full moon. Stars, they were also there. One of the few things he loved.
Sadness overwhelmed him as he stood. Alone.... no family to care for. Families didn't matter to him anymore. Shibō pushed off the rooftop of the shelter he was standing on and sailed through the air. Practically gliding as he neared to the ground. When his feet felt the solid ground there was a loud but also quiet noise. Loud as in the leaves that crunched under his feet. Quite because there was hardly any sound from his feet. Oh well, nobody around to hear me. He was thinking exactly the opposite of what was happening.
As he looked out onto the night he wondered how he got himself into this kind of things. He had a date all set up and now he was here with a superior officer watching him as he was sent on a mission to hunt down a shinigami. Somehow a rumor was spread that he was slacking off in his missions and wasn't doing what he was suppose to. Now it wasn't like the rumors weren't true, but Vannan didn't need to have this over him. So here he was in this town he had no clue about tracking down a shinigami that had somehow made his or her way into the human world.
Vannan was about to run off in the opposite direction until the officer pointed out the shinigami. Vannan turned to see and saw it was a guy. A bit of him smiled seeing that it was a man, he really hated fighting girls, it was a real pain to fight them because he couldn't help himself from trying to flirt with the girls he fought. Still a guy meant that he could at least go all out without holding back while his superior officer was watching him. Turning to face the shinigami he ran towards him forming his bow in his hand as the wind blew through his teal hair.
He jumped in the air and fired off two arrows from behind the shinigami's back. Neither of the arrows were actually aimed at the shinigami, no they were just warning shots to get the shinigami's attention. He wasn't going to finish off a fight so fast. That wasn't his style, he liked to mess around a bit during his fights before he took people out. For some reason Vannan could feel that this would be an easy fight he could draw out for a while and hopefully give the watching officer something to report back that he did actually do his job properly.
He landed in front of the shinigami his back turned to the him for a moment before he turned around to face him. The arrows he fired off would of landed on the sides of the shinigami a few moments before. Looking at the shinigami right in the eyes he spoke. “Come now shinigami scum let us do battle. For the glory of Der Kaiser I must kill you.” His bow raised up and aimed at the man he smiled. Even if the words he said made him feel sick it was what the Vandenreich wanted him to say or expected him to say. If he was going to put on a show he was going to put on the best one he could.

Two objects zipped past him. "Hmmmmm." He muttered to himself. Then he spun around hastily, on his heels. Only to see a man, a man with teal hair. And a bow. It didn't take a genius to know what this was, a Quincy. Just by the way he talked, Shibō knew he didn't mean it. The Quincy said he would kill him in the name of Der Kaiser. He didn't believe the Quincy. Most Quinces did obey the emperor. But this one did not.
"My wish is not to fight Quincy. I mean you no harm. My name is Shibō, and yours?"
Shibō mused to the teal haired Quincy. He held out his hand. Of course he didn't except a shake. But he was ready to attack if the Quincy did. His left hand was out, the right was on the handle of the Katana.
This wasn't what he expected at all from this shinigami. For him to remain so calm after two arrows had been fired at him. Either this person was always this calm and collected or he was an idiot. The shinigami's words furthered this thought as he stated that he didn't wish to fight. Sadly in this situation Vannan wasn't able to walk away freely. Normally this kind of shinigami was the kind he could get along with. So it was a shame that he had to meet him on this night of all nights.
“Dead men don't need to know my name.” Vannan jumped back away from the shinigami making sure that the distance between the two of them once he had landed was far enough so that if needed he could dodge an attack. However mid jump he raised up his arm his bow aimed at the chest of the shinigami and let go as an arrow formed and fired at the chest of his foe. There was no getting around this. Vannan was a quincy and this person was a shinigami they were meant to fight one another no matter how much they didn't want to.
As he landed he took a deep breath before running to the left of the shinigami trying to circle him off from the side. As he ran he would have his bow raised up and would fire off arrows every step he took. Even if he was shooting out his weakest arrows at the shinigami the speed of the arrows was nothing to shrug off. Vannan prided himself at the fact that his arrows were faster than he was. Once he had ran far enough to make a quarter circle around the shinigami he stopped thinking that this would be enough to keep the shinigami busy and also put on enough of a show for the one watching the two of them.

He didn't expect a warm welcome. Of course, the Quincy was surprised. Not often, did you get a Shinigami who didn't mind a Quincy. Shibō was one of them. He wouldn't care about the foolish affairs bewtween the two races. In fact, he believed the Quincies were doing right. Destroying the hollows without a trace. Everything that was or ever is a hollow needs to die. They deserve to die. These were the thoughts running through his head. Sure enough, this teal haired Quincy abided the war that resided between Archer and Swordsman. So sad... why can't the two races unite?... There were these things to do.
"Dead men don't need to know my name." There was the answer. The answer to the question Shibō had so humbly asked. What his name was. It was said in somewhat of a hostile tone. Shibō instantly stepped backwards. Then in one swift motion, he unsheathed the Katana. Hastily, desperately he reached for the hilt. Then, he practically ripped the blade out of it's scabbard. Drawing it out, in a diagnaol angle. He left it that way for a while. Until the Quincy also jumped back. Through mid-air, something within his hands glowed. It looked like.... An arrow maybe? And a bow to go along with it! This was his first time seeing one in person. Even so, he was exstatic yes, but exasperated. He had to be stubborn and refuse the friendly offer didn't he?
Seeing as he had jumped into the air and somehow, drawn a bow, it wouldn't be for nothing. Anybody with common sense would not do anything of the sort. But he was attacking. And his target-Shibō. Damn, I know nothing of Quinces! Only that they fight from far range! As if on que, an arrow came flying towards his chest. He didn't even notice until he prepared an attack himself! Stumbling and tripping.... It totally made his plan fail. The Earth howled with winds of laughter. The arrow pierced the skin. The skin just above his heart!
Even worse, something he had to put up with. A volley of arrows. A volley of the glowing objects were fired at him. Fired at him, from a counter-clockwise circle. Six of them to be precise. They weren't calculated and timed. But that didn't mean he could dodge six at a time! He only managed to stop three. Once he ducked, twice he sidestepped. The other three weren't so merciful. One hit him in the left shoulder, one in his left leg, and one in his right. The arrows hitting his legs just barely made it. They grazed by the inner parts of his legs. They burned badly but it wasn't fatal. As for his left shoulder, well he won't be able to use his left arm for a while.
Shibō limped towards the Quincy. Then, his legs collapsed underneath him. He acted as if he was in great pain and couldn't move. Lying there for a few minutes longer, to sell his story. When he was sure it was the right time he sprang up. His Katana went straight for the torso. In a diagonal slash. From the right side shoulder to the left side of the pelvis.

As he stopped moving he saw that the shinigami had fallen to the ground and was laying there motionless with blood pooling around him. Vannan stay away from the body and wondered what to do next. It wasn't like him to see someone go down this easy, after all he had gone easy on the poor shinigami so he could draw out the fight and make it last as long as possible, could it be that he found and extremly weak one that somehow made his way into the human world? If so that might of explaned why the shinigami didn't want to fight him and wanted to talk. It was a way of keeping the enemy from attack for a few more moments so that someone could have extra time to think up of a plan. It was a tactic he had used many times before in battle to out manuver stronger oponents.
Taking in a deep breath he wondered what to do next as it seemed as if the fight was over. He didn't want to end this so fast, him showing off was much better so he could make his superior officer think that he was actually working hard, but maybe this quick finish to a fight was a good thing. He could say that he uses his full force to kill off all foes of the vandenreich and he doesn't ever hold back. Either way it seemed as if this was over. He felt a bit sorry for the shinigami, but in this case he couldn't allow his feelings to get the better of him. It was either this shinigami or it would be his own later on when he returned back to base.
The bow in his hands vanished as he slowly took a step towards the shinigami that he presumed was dead. Vannan was told to collect the zanpakuto of any shinigami he had killed as a prize to show his commitment to the Vandenreich. He had a few, but he mostly disliked this practice, because he didn't have a place to keep them all, but seeing as he was being watched he had to take it. He was a few steps away from the shinigami before he saw that the shinigami sprung up and tried to slash at him. Vannan was taken a bit by surprise, however having a few feet distance between the two of them meant he had some time to react to this attack.
“Smite the enemy with hollow steel.”
As the words left his lips a blade formed in his hand. He raised it to block the strike from the shinigami and smiled seeing the damage that he had caused to his foe from his arrows. “Looks like you won't last too much longer looking like that.” Vannan wasn't one to not gloat when he was winning. Pushing back against the shinigami's blade he spoke once more “Smite the enemy with hollow steel.” Now another blade formed in his hand as he swung it downward at him. If he managed to dodge the attack Vannan would step back and wait to see what would happen. If the shinigami didn't block Vannan would if he could strike again with the second blade he made.
