Thread Title: Deadly Paradise Participants: Asmoskon Masurao vs. Iwamichi Saeke World: Human World Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: PG-13 Location: Nestled in between two mountains lies a valley, budding with a myriad of various flora and fauna. The valley teems with life, but its greatest landmark is a large, crystal-clear lake. Its water is home to fish, bugs, and crustaceans of all types. This lake and this valley are definitely a paradise destination. Few people actually know of it, however. Its secret location provides helpful cover for two people ready to do battle. Special Conditions: None Circumstances: Asmoskon arrives in the hidden valley along with Iwa as part of a job/request of Kazura Uzaki. He wants to test the boy's skills, so he pits him against another of his employees (one who is not insane). Kazura watches by hidden video cameras scattered about the valley, watching the battle from his office somewhere else.

A valley of paradise...to the human's point of view, that is. Sure, there was plenty of wildlife and unique landscapes, but it wasn't -that- fascinating to Iwa. What was the point to it all? It didn't help her in any way, so she didn't care. She looked into the sky. The clouds were moving pretty fast, maybe a premonition of a storm. Iwa didn't feel like dealing with the rain either because there wasn't really any place for shelter in this valley. Shrugging, she looked down at her feet. She saw the last of the black, Hollow reaitsu disappear; she had just finished cleaning up the garbage in this area, and now she had nothing to do. So, she had nothing keeping her here, and the more she thought about it, the more ready she was to leave.
The wind rustled through the dense number of trees; it was strong enough to blow Iwa's short hair off her neck. Her eye patch flapped across her face, almost revealing the giant hole in the side of her face. The surface of the water rippled and waved in the breeze, but not many of the creatures stirred. If there were fish in the water, the wind did not disturb them. She breathed in the scents all around her - the scent of the lush grass, the lake water, the lilacs. It wasn't out of any appreciation or love of nature; focusing her mind outward helped her relax and feel at peace. This tended to be more necessary than she liked. Iwa -could- have a short fuse at times, and she knew that it was important to stifle that in order to keep her rational mind sharp.
In this case, she just wanted to make sure she took some time to practice this skill in meditation and focus. It was going well, until she sensed another presence near her. It was pretty annoying not having very good energy sensory; it made it difficult to know if threats were coming. She turned to see a boy staring at her. Unfortunately, she didn't really feel like dealing with another person at the moment. She was enjoying her solitude. But, she had to remember why she was really here. Kazura had asked her to fight this boy, to test out his skills. She wasn't against it, but she didn't like to go out of her way for someone else either. Who was this scrawny boy in Kazura's employ?
Iwa looked at the boy intently, assessing his features and personality as best she could. He didn't seem flashy or ostentatious. His power was still to be undetermined. He looked practical and determined - determined to do well. He seemed motivated. That meant she wasn't getting out of this one. From what she remembered, the boy was a Quincy, although for whatever reason he didn't become a Vandenreich. She wasn't sure how she felt about him in the organization, but that could be thought of later. She had a job to do at the moment. "Alright, let's just get this done. Are you going to start, or shall I?" This was his first test: how would he react? what would he say? She take his response and use it to further analyze the boy. She wanted to know how this battle would turn out.

Finding the small valley was something that Asmoskon had some difficulty with even with the instructions from Kazura. Once Asmoskon had picked out the mountains on each side his understanding of the environment raised however it had still taken much longer than Asmoskon had planned to reach the valley. When he had reached the valley Asmoskon was shocked yet impressed at the surrounding flora and how peaceful everything seemed. Living most of his life traveling from one city to another Asmoskon had never actually been in such a place with amazing flora that just seemed to thrive.
While taking in the scenery that was utterly breathe stealing for the Quincy he knew it was time to attend to his true objective. In all truth Asmoskon had found his way into the valley and through it by sensing the reiatsu of the individual that Kazura told him he was to face in order to establish an understanding of his own abilities. This Asmoskon found somewhat demeaning in a way yet understood why it was needed and felt that if nothing else Kazura should know what he as a Quincy is capable of. The person that he was to face though he was given a short very vague description in his opinion. It was a girl by the name Iwa and was a rouge Shinigami, but Asmoskon didn't exactly know if there was anything he should understand about a rouge other than not serving the Soul Society.
Knowing that Shinigami had a very wide variety of combat possibilities Asmoskon wasn't sure on what to expect from his opponent. He had been taught by his grandfather to anticipate anything yet watch carefully and understand things about his opponents like their movements and methods of combat in order to more affectively deal with them. During one of his lessons he had been told three methods of combat that the Shinigami mostly possessed. One of course was a method of melee combat through the use of their zanpakuto yet Asmoskon knew if the Shinigami was skilled enough that could become problematic. The second method was something called Kido that his grandfather told him allowed Shinigami to use mainly distance type reiatsu attacks that could be used to counter Quincy. The final was yet another method of melee known as Hakudo which was physical combat something Asmoskon knew he wouldn't be able to do for long if at all.
Now standing only a few feet away from who he assumed was Iwa the young Quincy watched her turn. The girl covered one eye for a reason Asmoskon didn't feel he had earned the right to ask about simply by being accepted by Kazura. Iwa didn't seem to dress like a Shinigami however yet another thing Asmoskon had noticed at first glance, but that did make sense however for he had been told she was a rogue. Before he even had the chance Iwa spoke and simply asked how the beginning of their battle was going to start something Asmoskon didn't expect, but what exactly else was there to expect he had to make a good impression on Iwa in order to earn the respect of her and continue to gain people that will stand with him against the threats of the world.
"Alright well might as well just begin . . lets see who can land the first hit" during the small gap between his words Asmoskon focused his reiatsu causing his pitch black longbow to appear in his left hands grasp. This was it every action that Asmoskon made was going to be fundamental in proving himself and he knew it better than anyone. Watching Iwa's body posture he searched for any indication of movement as he pulls back the bowstring revealing his dark red reiatsu instantly forming into an arrow. Releasing his grip on his arrow Asmoskon makes the first shot in this battle attempting to strike Iwa's right shoulder while focusing another arrow to counter any movement or attack of her own.

Iwa continued to study the boy as he began to make his move. He seemed nervous, which Iwa took to be necessary in this kind of situation, but he elected to show his strength first. She admired him a little for that. Putting herself in his shoes, it did seem like the best choice to initiate an attack. If he wanted her to go first, he would need to dodge an attack that could be anything (because he didn't know what her bakkoto was capable of). Plus, adding kido to the mix, that made it even more tricky. Although Iwa could only guess what his close-ranged combat ability was like, she did infer that it wasn't near hers. She would attack that point first and judge whether or not to use her bakkoto.
Looking at the boy's arrows, they were different than any she had ever seen - mainly because they seemed bigger. Maybe that wasn't the correct word for it, but they did seem stronger, like they were made of more reaitsu. She, unfortunately, still didn't know the inner workings of Quincy powers. But, if this boy was on Kazura's team as well, than maybe she could get him to spill that information. As soon as Iwa had seen the arrow, it disappeared. It moved incredibly fast, and it took all of her concentration to dodge it. She had to use shunpo for that, but that wasn't too difficult. It actually made this battle more interesting. Iwa could see by the boy's stance that he was ready to send another one at her the moment she emerged from the shunpo.
But, she wasn't going to make things easy for him. Since they weren't that far apart, one step would do the trick to bridge the gap and land her right next to him. She knew how a Quincy fired his arrows - like a regular human's bow and arrow. Which meant that one arm had to pull back the arrow, and the other held the bow in place. Iwa emerged from the step technique, right next to the arm Asmoskon was using to hold the arrow. If he noticed her, he would still have no time to react before she made her move. She was behind him and too close, so he couldn't turn in time to fire the arrow at her. Grasping his arm, she twisted it harshly. Then, she spun in a circle and kicked the boy in his midsection. With her strength, that should send him at least rolling a couple yards.
She wondered what he would do. Worst case scenario, she had twisted the muscle in his arm, lowering its ability to function and move swiftly and effectively; his ribs might be fractured cracked. That was worst case. At the very least, she had managed to land the first hit, which was what the kid was aiming for. She would be able to quickly show him what he was up against. He should be able to figure out how difficult it would be to beat her with just that one attack. She could keep dodging them for a long time. The way she saw it, she was at an advantage. But, that didn't mean she had won. The purpose of this battle was to test his skills. If he could figure out a way to best her in a creative way, that would be a good outcome. She liked resourceful people, and it would make the fight a lot more fun. The ball was in his court again.

In the single moment that it would have taken for his arrow to travel between them and strike Iwa she simply disappeared from his vision. In that single moment of time Asmoskon's mind searched for a reason some type of method or technique that Iwa might have used to avoid his arrow. Then everything was simply clear. She had used a stepping technique one that would have allowed her to temporarily enhance her movement speed in order to evade his first action. Yet that wasn't the only thing that Asmoskon had realized in that moment he figured out why exactly he was facing off against Iwa. It hadn't been some random test against another member of the group Kazura ran, but was one set up to have him face off against the standard disadvantages of a Quincy.
In the moment following Asmoskon felt the air behind him disperse slightly causing him to focus his reiatsu and grip tightly on his bow as he felt his right arm being twisted painfully and in an awkward fashion. "Damn it looks like I've already got to resort to it" as his thoughts filled his mind the Quincy felt a small body maneuvering around him in a basic manner that the Quincy quickly estimated. As Iwa spun into sight Asmoskon slightly curved his right hand against the grasp of her own. Feeling the blunt force of Iwa's much more immense strength than his own Asmoskon coughed harshly as he felt his body being sent backwards he moved his hand slightly forward now facing Iwa. Activating the Versteckte Pfeil with the movement Asmoskon launches the large reiatsu arrow from the palm of his hand directly at the right side of Iwa's upper body.
Traveling backwards a few yards Asmoskon tummbeled against the soft grass of the valley that had felt nothing as such. The intense pain in his chest was one that he hadn't ever truly felt simply because he'd never been hit in battle before due to his skill. "Damn I'm going to have to be aggressive, but safe and watch for any opertunities I can exploit. Well if nothing else this group isn't full of weaklings." With a small trickle of blood down the right side of his mouth Asmoskon leans on his right knee with his bow held horizontally just above his knee with another arrow ready to be fired.
Post by Iwamichi Saeke on Jul 11, 2014 20:15:32 GMT -5
Iwa had landed a strong attack, but she wasn't expecting Asmoskon to be able to react so well. Well, it meant that things weren't going to be -that- easy. He deflected part of the blow and was preparing for his own counterattack. Unfortunately, she underestimated some of his abilities. She had figured that she was safe because his arrows wouldn't be able to reach her at that awkward distance. Instead, he held his palm up, and she watched him gather reiatsu. Good thing Iwa had some time to react before he fired off this technique. She saw where he was going to aim just by the direction of his hand and his eyes. He was aiming toward the right side of her chest.
"Enkosen!" Iwa had never used this technique in battle, but she had trained it enough to be proficient enough as to only need the name of the kido. Instantly, a blanket of yellow reaitsu came from her wrist. Since it was of good size, Iwa hoped it would be enough to stop the attack. The Quincy's attack hit with good force, but it seemed that she had guessed right: it was more of a kido-like spell, which the Enkosen was able to block. It seemed Iwa's technique was enough to negate Asmoskon's attack without any harm to her. The reiatsu shield hovered in front of her a while longer after the attack. She was pretty lucky that she got that off in time, and that the attack wasn't as powerful.
The kid was preparing himself again, but his condition was pretty bad already. Blood was already coming out of his mouth, and he was bent over on the ground. Was his physical condition really that weak? So, Iwa was correct in her decision to stick to close ranged combat. The boy wasn't going to make it easy for her. He didn't give up easily - she gave him credit for that. But, she definitely wasn't giving up. There was no way she was going to lose to this boy. She began to wonder why Kazura even paired the two up in the first place. Surely he knew that she would win, there was no debate about that. Knowing that, did he expect her to go easy on him? Let him hit her a couple times just so the boy would feel better?
Maybe he chose Iwa for this mission because he knew she wouldn't go easy on him. He wanted to test Asmos in that kind of do-or-die situation. How would he respond? Knowing that Iwa would never give him a break, would he be able to counter well? Kazura would be watching their interchange, so he saw how the boy got out of the first jam. With anyone else, his counter attack would have hit and done good damage. Although the technique had failed, he was demonstrating a good ability to think and act sharply. She believed that Kazura would be pleased with the boy, regardless of the outcome. Maybe she would tell him that at the end, just so he wouldn't feel so bad.
Pointing her finger at Asmo, Iwa fired another spell. "Hado no yon: Byakurai" A white beam of light trailed from her outstretched finger toward the boy's right shoulder. This was a lightning fast technique, and since they were both still pretty close, she believed he didn't have the ability to dodge it. What would he do to counteract her attack? It wasn't a very powerful spell and had certain disadvantages. But Iwa was a master at it, and she wouldn't miss. In pain and discomfort, she wondered if he would still continue. She figured he would just shoot another arrow at her: she still was in front of him. She could remedy that, though. The enkosen on her right arm would fade soon, but shunpo would be able to get her safely away from those arrows. Iwa just had to wait till he fired again.

Asmoskon had been surprised that Iwa had been able to simply call out the name of a kido powerful enough to shield her from the Versteckte Pfeil. Although Asmoskon knew that the technique wasn't one to boast about due to its actual lack of power, but the fact that this Shinigami could activate the kido without the incantation made Asmoskon truly wonder how powerful she was and if he even had a chance of defeating her. This wasn't the time to be thinking of defeat however Asmoskon knew that the best course of action he could take was action itself. As the Iwa raised her hand and pointed her finger in his direction Asmoskon assumed the worst possible scenario to his knowledge and released the arrow he had already formed from his reiatsu directly at her finger.
As the name of the kido was spoken from Iwa's lips Asmoskon's arrows traveled the small distance until clashing with the beam of white light that was fired from her finger tip. Both forms of reiatsu clashed against one another with power that rivaled one another until both cancelled out entirely leaving nothing but steam from the clash. Asmoskon had made sure to take this very moment as an opportunity for an advantage something that he would need to hold his own against Iwa. Watching carefully the Quincy saw both his own arrow and the kido that Iwa had activated were equal in power, but that did give him an idea that most he thought wouldn't expect.
As the clash of reiatsu cancelled one another and released a small amount of steam due to the power Asmoskon fired another arrow in the same path as the first in an attempt to conceal it from Iwa's sight long enough to land a hit on the right side of her chest just as he had planned originally. "Alright now something else I can't give her a moment to strike back" Rising from his right knee back to both of his feet Asmoskon felt the pain in his chest yet fought through the best he could to leap to the right. Focusing yet again Asmoskon would fire off another arrow in the position he knew Iwa was currently located hoping that if she were to utilize the same defensive method fast enough to block his first arrow that the second would strike her left shin.

Asmoskon fired another arrow at the Byakurai that Iwa had shot. Since they both seemed to have equal power, they cancelled the force of both attacks. Iwa kept that at the back of her mind. That meant she had another way of negating one of his attacks if she wanted to do that instead of shunpo. A cloud of steam arose from the clash of techniques. Although it was difficult to see through, there wasn't a lot there. The Byakurai and the arrow weren't that powerful. So, when Asmo tried to shoot another arrow under the guise of the smoke, Iwa could still see it perfectly. She could see his hands and hid feet: his hands drew back and released another arrow. She could see that and know that he fired an arrow before she saw the attack itself.
Although she didn't necessarily like doing the same move over and over again, she knew that if it worked to keep her out of the way of those arrows, she would use it. Iwa did another shunpo to get out of harm's way. As she did so, she saw another one come toward her. Curses. This guy is annoying. Is all I can do dodge? No, I still have a long way to go, Iwa thought to herself. She had to do another shunpo, but she was able to get clear of both arrows. And, she used the second one to start another attack. Instead of getting behind Asmo, she appeared right in front of him. With all of the momentum and force from the flash step she had just used, Iwa hit Asmo square in the stomach with her palms outstretched. That would definitely hurt like heck.
Iwa counted on her strike to work well for two reasons: 1) he probably wasn't expecting her to appear right in front of him, since most of his attention was still drawn to where she last was by the puff of steam. Her flash step was fast, so she didn't think he had the ability to react to her direct attack so close to him. and finally, 2) if he tried to counter attack again using the previous two techniques, at least she was in front of him and could see every move he made. Basically, she would watch as he went tumbling across the grass once more. The pain he would feel would intensify, especially in his torso, since both her strikes were landed in that area. She stopped to watch his next actions. Then, she thought of something else.
"I'm not one for much conversation, but since I didn't even let you introduce yourself, I'll let you now. I think you need a breather anyway." She waited for Asmos' response. He could choose to answer her or not. If he didn't, well, she might like that more actually. Since she was starting the conversation, it sounded as if she was actually being nice. Giving him a break was probably too nice. Of all Iwa's different qualities, she would say that nice wasn't one of them. Nice was pretty close to showing weakness - showing emotions. It meant that you felt something, like compassion or care, for the other person. Iwa hated emotions in general; therefore, she was not prone to being nice.
She regretted her decision at conversation. But, she had started it, so she could only blame herself. Sighing, she started again, "Actually, let's just get back to the battle. I'm not that generous as to let you recover." With that said, Iwa cracked her knuckles. She was going to start kicking things up to a higher level soon. She wondered how much longer he would survive. This environment was perfect for her abilities, he just didn't know it. But soon he would. So far, all she had seen were arrows. She had tons more options at her disposal. Of course, what she would do depended on his actions as well, but at least she had a lot to work with. He could continue the conversation, if he so decided, but that would mean Iwa would attack first. Her mind was already on her next move.

Asmoskon had seen Iwa utilize the same stepping technique that she had done earlier to avoid the first of his arrows that he can attempted to hide within the small amount of steam however failed to do so. As the second arrow flew she utilized the same technique yet again making Asmoskon wonder if that was something she truly relied on while in combat or if it was simply his arrows were to fast for her to avoid with her natural speed. Before Asmoskon was even able to survey the area around him for any sign of Iwa the Shinigami appeared in front of him while he still flew through the air from his leap only to strike him in his chest once again.
Being sent backwards yet again with even more force than the first strike caused Asmoskon gasp out as he tumbled over the grass another few yards. Now laying face down in the grass Asmoskon rises once again breathing heavily with more blood running from his mouth over his chin and one nostril oozing his blood. "Damn it this girl was chosen specifically to defeat a Quincy" that was it however something that Asmoskon had over looked during the short amount of time that he had been surveying his opponent's abilities. Kazura he assumed and was almost one hundred percent positive of had selected Iwa to test his own abilities due to the fact she was perfect in defeating the standard method of Quincy combat, but Asmoskon had only recently acquired something to separate him from that obvious weakness.
Standing on his feet once again yet struggling to get the baring of his weight due to the intense pain he felt in his lower chest and stomach area. Asmoskon stares out his eyes stern and serious showing his true resolve to never give in to defeat even when things look the most bleak. As she spoke and claimed that he needed to catch his breathe the Quincy felt a piercing blade strike his emotions. How dare she! Who did she think she was! Who could have such disrespect towards others! Why would she speak in such a disrespectful manner to someone she knew so little about. Nothing but mockery something that left Asmoskon infuriated.
"How Dare You!" screamed Asmoskon as he fired off another arrow directly at Iwa only to cast aside his bow having it revert back into nothingness as he placed both of his hands in front of him crossed against one another. "Smite the Enemy with hollow steel" speaking the incantation Asmoskon activated the Hohle Schneide technique not in a single hand, but in both of his revealing now that Asmoskon held a technique which granted him a sword of dull silver splendor. If this girl truly wished to battle through close combat then Asmoskon would simply show her that she would need to do more then use the same techniques repeatedly to defeat him.

Iwa didn't think that her word would provoke him, but then again, she hadn't fully seen his character. Good, this would show her something more. It appeared that the boy had a lot of pride in himself. Even though he was bleeding heavily and severely weakened, he still believed that he didn't need a "breather". Iwa's suggestion of it infuriated him. He fired another arrow, but his anger seemed to affect his performance. He had cast aside his bow to the ground. She didn't think that was very smart of him. Pride wasn't a bad thing, until you let it cloud your judgment. His lack of self-control proved he still had a lot of growth and training to do. He was still just a kid.
First, she needed to deal with the arrow flying at her. She really didn't feel like using another shunpo. Instead, she twisted her body to the left a bit and raised her her Bakkoto, knocking the arrow out of the way. Although this was effective in parrying the attack, she noticed that the arrow had left a mark on the blade. It had cracked it a bit at the spot where it hit. Tch. She hadn't expected that. But, seeing as he had pulled out another Quincy technique that could parry any attacks with her sword, she was going to need to change strategies anyways. Her Bakkoto wasn't good anymore, unsealed. Iwa looked towards the boy; she saw the anger burning in his eyes.
She was glad that he wasn't willing to give up yet. He wasn't a boring guy, so that made the mission way better. Either way, she knew the outcome would be the same. The real test though, started right now. Iwa was going to see if Asmos' decision would work out for him, or come back to hurt him. If he used it right, he should be able to prolong the battle a little more. It was all based on his ability, and Kazura would be watching intently. Gathering her reiatsu, Iwa finally released the Bakkoto. Should she start small and grow over time? No, she wanted to keep her options open, so she might as well go as far as she could. The armor grew over her body, giving her the familiar warmth and maneuverability of the armor. It shone bright in the sun.
She wondered what the boy would think. Probably, he was still too absorbed in his rage to be in any awe or surprise. The parasite squirmed menacingly around her body; it beat to the rhythm of her own heart. The solitary, yekkow eye peered out from under the eye patch, glaring at Asmoskon. It was hungry. For some reason, she had been fighting a lot of Quincys recently, but the parasite seemed to enjoy it. Based on the appearance of her released bakkoto, anyone would assume that her abilities were of the close-ranged type. After all, unsealed, her abilities did center around that area. But her powers were much more complicated than what people might think. For now, she decided to wait for the boy's next move. He seemed intent on destroying her, but she wondered how he would do that with just the small reiatsu-sword in his hands.

While Asmoskon might have allowed his rage toward those who spit in the face of respect overwhelm his actions for a few moments one thing had struck him as important. The fact that one of his normal arrows left a knick in whatever zanpakuto this Shinigami had just released meant that in all truth her reiatsu isn't as strong as his own. That was something useful that Asmoskon tucked away in the files of his mind to aid him further down the battle. The appearance of Iwa's zanpakuto release was something that Asmoskon could see enhancing her close combat by a giant proportion. This meant that Asmoskon truly couldn't risk being struck in his chest any longer he had only taken two strikes and already his chin was drenched with his blood and one of his nostrils he could feel dripping with the source of his life.
When what looked like a small insect crawled out from beneath Iwa's eye patch Asmoskon was shocked at what he had seen yet knew if there was any type of weakness to Iwa's zanpakuto the insect would most likely be the source. Gripping the silver swords tightly as he hands shake Asmoskon centers himself imagining only victory and survive. Now was the time to show that even if he was weaker than this Shinigami that he not only as a person, but a free Quincy deserved the respect of all. "Alright time to show her that if anything to show Respect towards others. Especially people you know nothing about"
Just as the Quincy took a step forward he felt a surge of pain rush throughout and suddenly hunched over from the pain coughing up a large amount of blood from his mouth. Bracing himself from falling to the ground Asmoskon stabs both of his sword tips into the ground in front of him holding him upward as blood pours from his face to the grass dying the green color of health and peace to red the color of harm and pain. After a few moments Asmoskon moves his head back upward staring into the eye of Iwa with defiance showing her that this Quincy wouldn't go down as easily as many would believe. Pulling the swords from the ground Asmoskon sways backwards slightly only to regain his balance and rush towards Iwa holding both blades out in front of him cross against one another forming an X.
After the few brief clashes of combat that had currently occurred Asmoskon had witnessed and evaluated Iwa's fighting style enough in his opinion to assume she relied heavily on her stepping technique to initiate combat and evade against swift strikes. While she might also have kido Asmoskon had only seen two currently that aided her greatly something he knew would prove to be a problem. Now was the time to strike and Asmoskon had planned out three possible counters to however Iwa dealt with his cross slash downward against her chest. In the chance that Iwa simply utilized her stepping technique he knew she would most likely be behind him, so as soon as she would disappear from his sight the Quincy planned to spin and slash behind him.
As the second form of counter if the Shinigami raised a hand or her mouth began to move Asmoskon would leap backwards and throw the sword in his left hand forward attempting to strike her chest. The final counter that Asmoskon had thought through in the few moments he had available was one that would require him to once again utilize Versteckte Pfeil from his right hand. This would be a last resort and only realized if Iwa managed to strike directly in front of Asmoskon. If he was attacked directly the Quincy would release his grip allowing his sword to drop and form another arrow from his hand attempting to strike Iwa as swiftly as possible.

Iwa had finally re;eased her power; now that she had done so, she felt the joy and the burden of her great power. The power was a gift and it was a curse. Of course, the parasite taking residence in her eye socket and feeding off of her own life would be considered the curse. But, she knew power always came at some price. In her opinion, it was necessary to achieve her goals. So, she would deal with it whether she liked to or not. She watched Asmos' reaction to the eye surging out of its place. He looked bewildered and a little put off by the creature - the typical response. She basked in that feeling of terror and shock. Remember, pride leads to a downfall. Tread carefully.
Iwa watched nonchalantly at Asmoskon's pain. He was obviously in really bad shape. She wondered if she were to keep fighting, would he actually die? Kazura would never forgive her for that, surely. Yet, the boy was so determined. His lack of fear and perseverance was definitely something to respect; Iwa believed that was one reason why Kazura held onto him. The color of blood stained the grass under the boy's feet. He braced himself, using the swords, but it was all he could do to stand back up. He was so open! She could finish him right then. But, curiosity - that darn feeling - got the best of her. Iwa wanted to know what he was going to do. Kazura would want that too, right?
He began to charge directly toward her: a bold move. There were two swords as well, crossed in the shape of an x. He was aiming for her chest, most likely, by the way that the swords were going. She couldn't tell what he was planning, but seemed to think this was the best solution to combat her. He would be very wrong. It was simple, really, since she had released her Bakkoto. As Asmoskon was running toward her, Iwa raised a large slab of earth directly in front of him. The boy had already gained a lot of momentum, and he was very focused on his current strike. He wouldn't see it coming. The boy would hit the wall of earth directly in the face.
Iwa calculated for one more thing, however. She figured that with the swords outstretched in front of him,e might be able to break through all or part of the rock. It would be rough on his body, of course, but the rock would still break from the reiatsu in the Quincy's swords. Even still, his movements would be significantly slowed - unable to fully continue charging at her. His direction would alter a little and his two swords might not even be in the shape of a cross anymore. Iwa sidestepped away from the area right as he hit the wall. Since she was not in front of it anymore, there would be no chance for him to hit her. If the wall wasn't enough to completely immobilize his injured body, he would soon break down.
Iwa proceeded to manipulate the plants around her to grab Asmos' right leg with a vine. It wrapped around the whole leg, whether he was still running or not. With a simple command, the reed pulled back, bringing his right leg out from under him. If he was still in motion, he would probably fall flat on his face or form a split with his legs, depending on which leg was in front of the other at the time. If he had come to a complete stop, he would still probably fall on his face. Either way, his motion would be completely arrested and his body injured even more. If he could still stand and fight after all that, Iwa might just concede this fight to him.

Rushing forward Asmoskon hadn't at all anticipated the idea that Iwa's zanpakuto would allow her to manipulate the ground into rising right in front of him causing the Quincy to react in shock and slight fright twisting his body barely in time. By twisting his body Asmoskon caused the blunt force from the momentum that he himself had created to damage his right arm instead of his upper body. This caused the boy to bite down on his lower lip in even greater pain as his body continued to go through hell itself. Feeling the tug on his right leg as his eyes shut from the pain for only a moment Asmoskon couldn't react in time to keep his balance causing him to be dragged to the ground by the vines.
Now on the ground with both swords in front of him with the vines wrapped around his right leg Asmoskon looks backward at the vines as blood flows from his chin. "Damn it! Damn it! I've had enough of this and now she uses a method of complete disrespect." Swinging his left hand backwards Asmoskon cuts the vines from the root with his silver sword and rises slowly making sure that his balance is steady as he stares at Iwa the same way once again. "How dare you strike from behind! That is one of the most dishonorable and disrespectful things someone can ever do!" Throwing both of his swords toward Iwa in a cross fashion Asmoskon attempts to catch Iwa's attention on the blades that would strike her if she didn't react in some fashion.
This was it Asmoskon had never been pushed to this point in his life not even by the strongest of hollows he had encountered. Recalling his pitch black bow to his left hand Asmoskon gathers his reiatsu and forms another arrow this one more potent and focused and fires it toward where Iwa had been standing in an attempt to strike her through the her right shoulder. For even in the rage that he was in Asmoskon would never go against his own code; one that prevented him from killing the innocent. While Asmoskon knew this was a battle and had little knowledge of Iwa in his eyes she still was innocent of darkness the reason why he had never actually aimed for her head or the center of her chest.

Iwa watched as Asmoskon smashed head first into the wall. It eventually crumbled down around him, but the boy was definitely out of commission. She knew that it would be impossible to dodge from the start, even for someone like her. Her moves were just too fast, and his physical condition was too weak to carry on the fight. He lay on his back, not moving anymore. The boy was slipping out of consciousness as Iwa stood over him. She had to admit, he gave up a pretty good fight - better than most she had had for a long time. He didn't give up, even when the situation looked grim; Kazura could definitely use people like him on his team. There was no doubt that he would be able to get stronger and work on the areas where he was weakest. Maybe they could fight again after he had gotten stronger.
Sheathing her Bakkoto, Iwa looked around for one of those hidden cameras that she knew Kazura was using to watch the fight. There wasn't much in this valley, but there were still many spots to hide small objects, She found one in a nearby tree; it had the perfect angle to see most or all of the action. She didn't say anything, just motioned to the motionless body on the ground. Kazura was smart enough to know he needed medical attention. She turned her back from the camera and walked away. What was she going to do now? It would be kind of bothersome to wait until help for the boy arrived. She didn't have any reason for doing that either. Help would come regardless - she knew that.
Taking one last turn towards the boy, she cast an approving glance. She had to admire that tenacity and perseverance. Of course, Iwa knew when to give in, when to fight, and when to run away. She knew when battles could not be one; there was no shame in admitting those defeats. The boy should learn a valuable lesson: it's better to give in then to try to force a losing battle. If the weakness is there, it's there; there is nothing one can do to stop that. Pride, rage, and stubbornness - they didn't help one win a fight. Strength did. He would get stronger, though, of that she had no doubt. And, since they would be working together in the future, she would definitely be able to see his growth.
Darting up the steep mountainside and away from the valley, Iwa rested her mind on different things. What exactly was Kazura's goal for her in this battle? She didn't think he was testing her - he had received a good look at her abilities already, so there was no need to test her, especially on a new guy. Was this really going to be her job / place in the company? Training the newbies? She wouldn't stand for that; she would definitely let him know that. This whole ordeal made her feel weaker, like a worthless subordinate. She took the job with Kazura because she thought it was more of a partnership than a job. One thing was for certain: she would not be cast aside as some useless or simple pawn. She was going to be a strong part of this organization and lead it into something great - whether Kazura wanted that or not.

As the two of the employees finished up their battle, Kazura finished his coke and flipped the switch to enable talking through the hidden speakers in the valley. He was impressed with the way the two of them had fought bravely, testing each other and hopefully improving each other as well. "Good work, both of you. I have a much better idea of what you two are capable of, and am excited to see you two grow. Swing by my office on your way back into Japan and I'll pay you two for your work today." It seemed that the Rogue had been holding back on him before, and the Quincy was capable of firing arrows without a bow. Both of these hidden talents were pretty cool, and new to Kazura. Hopefully he'd see some more cool tricks in the future, and use those to grow his company towards their end goals more easily.
