Circumstances: He had taken a mission that brought him to Paris. It took him almost no time to finish it so he decided to walk around the beautiful city at night. Katrina had been shopping and the street lights started to slowly turn on one by one

Vannan couldn't believe his luck after hard mission after suicide quests he got the holy grail of easy missions. Go to Paris, France and see if there are any spiritual awakened beings in the city and if there are bring them back to the Vandenreich, so they could be made into quincies. Such an easy mission he was honestly skipping down the the halls of the ice castle towards the gate room. There was nothing that could get him down, because even if he didn't find someone who was spiritually aware, he was going to spend the entire day in the city of love. Meaning he would have plenty of time to flirt with beautiful women in the city instead of spending time actually looking for someone with spiritual energy.

The moment he step foot in the city he could feel himself surrounded by love. Even though the city really wasn't that romantic he could certainly feel why people called it that. Vannan started to walk around the city trying to sense anyone with any spirtual power, however he felt nothing. He only spent a few minutes doing it before he was distracted by a few french girls talking about something while they were looking at him. He walked over to find out what was going on and all they said was they loved his hair. He would spend a few hours flirting with them before moving on. After all there was no need to stay in just one area he had all day to kill

The last time he was in Paris was...never. Vannan was enjoying all that this city had to offer. Mostly due to the fact that he had been given such an easy mission he had way too much time to kill. There was nothing like walking around a new city. Still he spent so much time messing around he didn't notice that it had became dark. That's when he sensed it a spiritual power nearby. It was faint, but there was something there. He sighed because he knew what that meant, he had to go and take a look at what it was. Still he wasn't going to let that ruin his fun, so he slowly walked towards the source of the power. He was wearing his typical Vandenreich uniform so he did stick out, he hoped he could resolve whatever he was about to meet with a fight, but he guessed that it wouldn't be the case given his last few encounters.

Katrina always had bad luck when it comes to vacations. Literally every single time in recent memory, she has gone on some rather ... interesting misadventures. Whether it was encountering a particularly attractive human world CEO or fighting a freak of nature, she has, without fail, never had what could qualify as a "good" vacation (though meeting Kazura wasn't necessarily a bad thing). This time, however, appeared to be different; it was already nighttime, and not so much as a hollow had bothered her on this particular foray into the recesses of the human world. Of course, recesses is just colorful language; she spent literally all of her time in the boutiques and fashion parlours that dot the landscape of the City of Love, being pampered and adored by the skilled beauticians of France.

Night fell on the city, the various clubs and raves opening for business. Katrina stood then on the corner, far more trussed up than normal. Make-up was on her face, glitter and eyeliner giving her a far more exotic look than normal. Her hair, normally pin-straight, was done up in waves, the bottom six-inches curled into loose ringlets. A blue dress, glittering with dappled light from the lights of the city, clung to her like a second skin, her cleavage, small as it was, clearly enunciated. She was shod in matching shoes. For once in her life, she felt like a girl. 'It is a nice feeling, for a change ...' Sapphire eyes glanced down at her shining dress. 'Though it's pretty impossible to fight in something like this ...' A sigh burst from her plush lips. 'Oh well. It has been a good day. Nothing is going to-'

A tingling on the back of her soul, and she spun around, her eyes wide with surprise. "Oh, hell no." Her voice rang out over the crowd, despite her diminutive size. The rather impressive spiritual signature was plainly not Shinigami; in fact, despite her lack of skill in sensing energy, she could plainly feel him; Quincy. Her soul burst from her body then, blue eyes wide with anger. Almost immediately, a golden sword was in her hand. "You need to leave, Quincy." She spat his race like a curse. She hated Quincy with a passion; not only because of their attack on the Soul Society. They are abominations, humans are overreaching their bounds and doomed to die. She stood, framed against the city lights, the short wakizashi blade held loosely in her hand. She was still pampered, but now the relaxed expression had disappeared, to be replaced by a tight unitard and golden haori and an angered expression.

He was taken back for a moment when he saw her, the way she was all dressed up, the color of her hair, the make up on her face and her beautiful sapphire eyes. She was really a beautiful sight, even if she was a bit short. A true smile was across his face as he saw her and realized that the source of the spiritual power was her. It seemed as if this mission had just became much more enjoyable. Here he was looking around at the girls in Paris to find a beauty and the one that really took his breath away, he only found because he actually did part of his mission. “Such beautiful hair, and amazing eyes that seem to shine as if they were gems. Cutie I think you have stolen my heart.”

Even if it was dark this part of the city still had a bunch of people still in it and he didn't want to get them involved in the fight that looked like was about to happen. So he stepped passed her using Hirenkyaku to avoid her and end up next to her gigai that was leaning on the side of a building. He smiled as he picked it up carrying it in his arms. A smile across his face as he looked back at the female shinigami. “You shouldn't leave your body just laying around like this cutie. Someone as pretty as you should take better care to not do something like that.”

Vannan slowly stepped towards her carrying her gigai in his hands to give it back to her. He really didn't want to fight with her, but he was prepared for the worst case if she did try something. For his height he was quick on his feet and what's more he had a silver tongue that matched his speed. He had often gotten out of tight situations using it. If she did try to attack him while he walked towards her he would use Hirenkyaku to dodge to the left then he would move his right hand away from holding her body up and fire off two arrows from his side bow. To try to keep her from hitting him.

If she didn't attack him and allowed him to get closer to her while carrying her gigai he would stop a foot away from her. Gently he would lower the gigai down so the feet would touch the ground first. He would position the gigai so that it would be standing upright however it would be leaning on him. Once it was out of his hands he would speak again. “My name is Vannan, so can I learn the name of the angel that has caused my heart to skip a beat?” He would have a smile across his face as he spoke, but that didn't mean that his guard was down.

He had a feeling that she might still attack him. If that was the case he would quickly step to the right and say out loud “Smite the enemy with hollow steel” which would cause Hohle Schneide to form in his hand. With the blade in his hand he would attempt to block her attack or try to redirect it away from him. If he was successful in doing any of that he would blow her a kiss and speak again. “Sorry cutie, but I think that we should dance rather than fight.” If he didn't block the attack or redirect it all he could hope was that he didn't take too much damage and would look at her with the same smile he always seemed to have on his face.

Did he- Is he- "PUT. MY. GIGAI. DOWN." She was absolutely outraged. How dare this ... this ... boy touch her Gigai?! It was- It was wrong! Sure, she probably should have used Gikongan; but she didn't have any on her! A fight wasn't on her to due list. Her hand clenched on the hilt of the wakazashi blade. She took a deep breath to calm her voice. While it worked, her eyes and flushed cheeks betrayed her irritation. "If you ... If you put me - it - down, I won't feed your intestines to the trash around us. Do you understand?" Her voice had grown cold and completely serious, betraying nothing of the storm inside her.

Katrina was finding it hard to control herself. On one hand, there was this complete stranger touching her, holding her body like a piece of meat. 'I cannot believe his presumption! He cannot treat my body like this, even if ... well, even if it is only a physical vessel.' The fact that this man ... Vannan, was it? ... has the gall to touch her without permission- who knows what's going through his perverted mind as he's holding her like this!? Her face turned redder as she thought this, her eyes narrowing in the direction of the quincy. It was wrong and- and rude, what Vannan was doing. At least to the young Shinigami.

On the other hand ... well, Katrina wasn't going to pretend that her irritant wasn't attractive. He was, most definitely. Tall and confident, with a certain devil-may-care attitude that sent Katrina's heart fluttering. Hell, if it weren't for the fact that he was so ... so ... Quincy, she might even have entertained romantic thoughts. As it was, she couldn't help but check him out, as they say. Her brilliant eyes slid down his chest, lingering on the vague outline of pectoral muscles barely visible. She couldn't help the warm flush that spread across her cheeks, nor the reflexive action of her biting her lower lip. She blinked rapidly, once, twice, her long black lashes briefly closing over her sapphire orbs.

'It doesn't matter how attractive I find him ... nor how ... capable his hands look. He is ... he is a Quincy, and must be defeated!' She swallowed hard once to steel her resolve, then flicked her gaze up to Vannan's face. A flicker of irritation creased her forehead. "... tch." He was ... just too tall, dammit. Why couldn't people just be shorter than her. She heaved a sigh, then straightened herself in an attempt to look taller. "I will not tell you again, Quincy." She steadfastly refused to call him by his name. "Put my Gigai down and flee from this place, or I will end you." Lightning crackled around her hand as she mentally prepared a Byakurai, the latent spiritual energy pouring forth like a glove around her wrist. But she didn't attack just yet, not just yet.

Vannan kept the smile across his face as he heard her speak to him. He wasn't going to hang onto her gigai for long after all she seemed upset at it, or maybe she was flustered by it. Either way she didn't attack him right away so that meant that she didn't see him as a threat just yet or could it be that she found him charming? He knew he was good looking so that was something that did cross his mind. Still he slowly stepped back and away from this girl still holding her gigai in his hands. His goal was to reach the bench that was near him as he moved he kept his teal eyes on her. Looking at her, she was rather short, but he found that cute it made her stood out more than most other girls he had met. However he did notice the sparks of electricity around her hands, there was no mistaking it that was some kind of attack.

His footsteps were light as he walked backwards to the bench his eyes never losing sight of her. That charge around her hand worried him as he placed her gigai sitting down on the bench. The bench itself was somewhat clean as clean as a public bench would be. Keeping the smile across his face as he brushed out some of the hair out of the face of the gigai. “Such a pretty face, it's a shame to have it be hidden behind your beautiful hair.” Slowly he stepped away from the body and looked back at Katrina hoping that she didn't attack him just yet.

Still if this was going to be a fight he was going to get ready. His bow formed in his right hand as he raised up his left one up out to her. “I would rather we dance than fight. Come lets enjoy the city and each others company for a while. It's not everyday I meet someone as pretty as you.” Vannan still hoped that he could avoid this fight if possible, but if not he was ready to counter an attack if needed. Closing his eyes for a moment to blink he waited to hear what she would say or what she would do.

Outrage. Outrage was written all over Katrina's face. Katrina's heated blush disappeared to be replaced by a crimson leer. Cold eyes burned into him, seeming to sear his very soul with the intensity of the stare. Her full lips parted in a snarl, revealing white teeth that were sharper than average, with the canine's being slightly longer. "Why, you-" Her voice came out as a directed pulse, a beam of pure spite directed at everything Vannan holds dear. It was hatred condensed into two words. She hated this man at this instant; his entitlement, his stupidity ... it made her angry.

No one touched her. No one even kissed her. It was unbecoming. A noble does not act like that. To touch her is a privilege, to kiss her a treat. Yet for this Vannan to act as if she were a helpless plaything ... it would not do. Even if she were not in her body, even if her body was dead and she had no attachment to it ... it was her image he was besmirching, her image he was taking advantage. For Katrina, image was everything. Anger wiped out Al thought at his presumption, that his simple flirting and touching of her body would somehow woo her, make her wish to lay with him ... it was ridiculous!

-Oh, please, sweetie. He's turning you on.- Katrina's teeth grit like nails on a chalkboard. "Just. Shut. Up!" Echoing laughter met this statement, but at least the voice followed her order. Katrina's eyes trailed to Vannan again, the anger fading a bit. '... he has a point ... this ... Vann- Quincy, this Quincy is having a rather ... distinctive effect on me ...' She shifted rather uncomfortably, her shapely thighs rubbing together. 'I never thought-' she shook her head doggedly. 'No matter. He deserves punishment.'

Suddenly, Katrina disappeared with a flurry of Shunpo. There was no indication that she was ready to do it; she was skilled in the use of Shunpo and, just as important, she was stealthy. She knew how to hide her movements. Only a subtle shifting of weight, undetectable to all but the masters. She was behind him then, killing intent on her aura. A small hand pressed against his spine, right at the base of his butt. Then, Byakurai. Piercing Lightning. A bolt of the ice blue lightning erupted from her hand. If it hit, it would slide through his spine like a knife through butter.

"You are a fool, Vannan." Her voice cut to his ears like a whip. "A ridiculous, lust-crazed fool." She jumped back than, Air Ground helping her as she slid a dozen feet backwards. "I am far beyond anything you can ever hope to nail, you pitiful human." The wind kicked up then, whipping her hair to the side, for once fully revealing the contours of her face. Her voice rose with the wind until it was one full of power and confidence. Her eyes bored into the Quincy's. "I am Katrina Kawada, a member of the Royal Kawada and far beyond your league. Yet you still try, you pathetic human."

Her voice had grown condescending, a smirk playing around her pink lips. "One last chance, Quincy. One more. Leave now, crawl back now to your pathetic Emperor and beg his forgiveness of your weakness, and I'll let you live. IF you do not, I will kill you now." She cocked an eyebrow at him, though her black Wakizashi was still clung loosely in her hand. Truthfully, she hoped he wouldn't leave. She enjoyed fighting him, and wished to get closer to him- "Eep! I did not just think that!' She sighed mentally over the cackling in her head.

In a flash she vanished from his sight, his eyes picked up a bit bit of her movement standing there where her body was would not be a smart move. He didn't believe after her screaming at him to drop her body before that she would let him go so easily now that it was out of his hands. Gathering the reishi around him he condensed it under his feet making a surface he could skate away if he needed to. In that moment he felt her fingers on his lower back. She was fast, much faster than him, but he wasn't about to get hit by something like this. Gliding on the reshi he had collected on his feet he was able to dodge the blast of reiatsu that she had made come from her finger tips.

His path away from her ended him up under a street light, he was in clear view as he looked for her, she was a bit away from him. For a quincy this meant that he had the advantage, distance was always the friend of a quicny. While most people had to get up close to fight, his race didn't they excelled at long rage fighting. As she spoke he noticed something smelt odd, it was as if someone was burning cloth. His eyes widened a bit as he felt some heat coming from his back. Rapidly he stripped off his coat and pulled off his teal shirt off tossing them both to the ground. Both of them had burn marks on them and the coat seemed to be still burning. His back had a light burn on it near his ass, however he seemed to be unharmed, his toned body illuminated by the street light.

His ears picked up everything Katrina said, it made him laugh a bit at how mad someone could get over a miss understand of what his words meant. He had no intention of sleeping with her, he may be a flirt, but he has morals. He doesn't go making girls conquests. Leaning against the street lamp he watched her waiting to see if she was going to attack while she yelled out at him. It seemed as if she wasn't going to do anything else besides threaten him and say that he should run away back to Der Kaiser. If she knew him, she would know that's the last thing he would do.

“Katrina Kawada, what a beautiful name, so now I know the name of the beautiful maiden before me”

He crossed his arms over his chest as he took a small step towards Kararina. He wasn't going to run away, he couldn't not after learning that she was a member of a royal family. This mission was turning out to be more and more interesting, if he could charm her he might have a way to get out of the Vandenreich and get his sister to safety, if he couldn't and had to take her out he could present her back to Caesar. Her being a noble could really smooth things over and allow him to maybe get a better rank then the one he had now. His arms opened up as he moved closer to her keeping his smile across her face. Not saying a word as he got closer to her. He would stop walking five feet in front of her before saying something.

“Come let's dance.”

Oh, Kami, this wasn't good. Immediately, Katrina regretted her decision. Her eyes widened in ... something. Certainly wasn't disgust. 'Oh, Kami ...' Warmth flooded her body, the now-familiar heat pooling in between her legs. 'Oh, gods, there could not be a worse time!' She shifted uncomfortably. 'Step One, remember to breathe. That's it. Step two, stop ogling his bare chest and kick his ass! Like, now!' Almost reluctantly, he tore his eyes from his ... very attractive chest (she gulped at this point) and looked him in the eye. "Whatever your plan is, it won't work." This was, of course, a blatant lie.

Now wasn't the time to get distracted. She had to ... Uh, not stare at his chest, for one. Dammit. Giving that up as a lost cause, she did her best to give this Quincy her best sneer (though the effect was lost slightly as she was still staring at his chest. "Dance? With scum? Why in the world would I do that?" Despite herself, she was breathless. She had long ago come to terms with her rather ... overactive libido, but this was ridiculous. She could barely breathe! Then again ... Vannan is the first man whose skin she saw. Even in the academy, she segregated herself from the other students. Because she knows herself, and how little control over her emotions she has.

Not that she was complaining, though she would never admit it to anyone but herself. A voice spoke up then, a little orange voice in the back of her head that she normally associated with long nights and an Anne Rice novel. "Come on ... drop the act. He likes you, you ... well, need to get laid ..." A gasp escaped her throat at this, her alabaster cheeks turning red from the tenacity. Before she could reply, however, the voice retreated with a humored chuckle.

"Grrr ..." Her eyes snapped up, latching hard to Vannans. Blue stared into blue, and Vannan would see himself reflected in those eyes, along with a million lights. The girl of moments before, undecided and overwhelmed by her emotions, was gone, leaving in her place a heartless, merciless assassin. "Shut up and die." Her sure hands plucked a Kunai knife from her belt, and with a wire. The pre-looped wires fit nearly over the hilt of the knife. Her blue painted nails suddenly flicked, and the blade was sent flying, the long wire clenched in her hand.

And suddenly it started to glow. Not like a t.v. screen, or a flashlight. Like the sun. Light intense enough to sear the retina poured forth from the wire. Purposefully, Katrina averted her gaze. It would not do to have her blinded in this fight. But, should Vannan be staring, he would find himself blinded. This was the power of Sanzeisui, the first Saiwan any Kawada worth their riches will learn. A simple spell, it nonetheless is effective, hopefully opening a hole in his defenses.

In the next instant, she tossed her haori off, the golden material catching on a nearby lamp post. If he could still see, he would get an eyeful. A skin tight leotard, covering barely her torso, but not much else, clung to her like a second skin. The brown belt hung loosely on her wide hips, weighed down with weaponry. Before he could look for more than a second, however, she was gone, a flash step sending her rocketing to him. But not behind. Too predictable. Rather, she was upside down, her blade having been drawn, aiming to cleave his head in twain.

As he eyed Katrina as he waited for her to do something. He noticed that her eyes seemed to dart back and forth from his chest to his face. It was cute to see her actually have an interest in him, she was cute, so maybe her attacking him was just a reaction and she really didn't want to fight. All her eye movement lead him to believe that this was true and soon they would be talking and maybe something more, instead of this pointless fight.

When she said that his plan wasn't going to work he couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Her lying was really bad and he could see that she had other things on her mind. He had expected her to accept his offer to dance, but when she turned it down he lowered his hand, however for some odd reason he saw her blush. “You look so cute blushing Katrina. You should do it more.” A growl came from her after he had said that. Had it been his words? He didn't know, but he was a bit upset.

That was until he looked into her eyes, her soft and beautiful eyes that reflected his image back to him. He could for a moment see how she saw him, he admitted that to the outside world he would look like a crazy person, but it was late and dark. Lost in her eyes he didn't notice the attack she had launched on him until it was too late. There was a blinding flash that dazed him. He couldn't see anything due to the light, if he had been paying attention he would have been able to at least try to move out of the way of the attack which would of resulted in him being able to at least avoid the light being flashed right in his eyes. It felt strange to be the one in a fight blinded by a bright light given what his power could do.

This was bad, he took a step back and covered his eyes hoping that the darkness from him covering his eyes would help him recover his vision. At times like these he hated the fact that he didn't have enough energy sensory to sense people's attacks or movements. He was really blind here in a fight he hadn't taken serious because of his opponent. So many mixed signals had been given, before the flash of light that he didn't know what to do about this fight. On one hand he could of taken it serious and lost the chance to flirt with Katrina, but now because he didn't he was at a huge disadvantage.

Only a few seconds after the flash bang did he feel something slide across his face, it was a blade. However instead of it cutting his face it seemed to only glide off. He had no idea that his spiritual pressure was so high compared to her's that it caused a cut back effect to happen making it so that she would be the one hurt by this attack. He stretched out his arms to try to wrap around her and he did. Pulling her close to him he smiled as his arms forced a hug on her. As his eye sight started to return he pulled her closer to him so that her face was pressed up against his chest.

He saw her clothing now, it was nothing more than a skimpy leotard. His hands drifted to rest on her lower back as he felt her soft skin in his hands. Keeping his arms tight around her so that she couldn't just pull away right away he smiled at her and looked down at her blue eyes. “Your skin is so soft Katrina, you really are a true noble. Only someone of high class could have skin that soft.” He leaned down so he could get closer to her face “I bet your lips are even softer though.” His own lips were less than a breath away from hers as he spoke. His eyes locked onto her's.

A fog had frozen her mind, leaving her unable to move, unable to think our talk or- or do anything but stare into his deep blue eyes. They drew her in, talked to her in a way that no others had before. She could read his entire story in those eyes. Happiness and passion and loneliness and pain ... it was all etched in his eyes. They made her feel sad. So much pain was on his shoulders, so much stress. She could see it in his eyes. The tension drained out of her, her ruby lips parting slightly. The slightest hint of fruit, peaches specifically, came from her. She smelled good, he would realize.

She heard his words as if through a veil, muffled and warped by the fog in her head. She didn't care, she had no response. Her pulse beat in her ears, heat floo ding her. Vannans would feel it as the small girl flushed. Her eyes were drawn to him, pouring into his eyes as if drawn in. And, inevitably, they were drawn lower, across his nose, down to his lip. And what soft lips they looked, plush and inviting. Her pulse beat harder in her ears, the natural drum's lending a tempo to her thoughts. A manicured hand rose to touch his cheek. Slowly, she leaned in, her lips parting in preparation for their meeting.

The kiss was slow. Slow, and burning, and utterly innocent. She had never kissed anybody before, it was obvious in her technique and movement. But God, she loved it. A line of fire erupted down her spine, and she gave a shiver, pressing into the kiss. Her body, warmed by her arousal, was infinitely soft, and sensitive, as if urging him to touch her. A low moan escaped her throat suddenly, and she clasped his face with both hands, desperate. She needed him, wanted him. She-

The fog lifted in a sudden, horrifying moment and broke the kiss, she staring slightly dazed at him. "You ... you ..." She raised one hand, pressing against her newly bruised lips in shock. "... YOU BASTARD! LET GO!" She suddenly screamed, jerking, twisting, scratching, trying to be free. A terrified, horrified look was on her face, tears beading on the corner of her eyes. She didn't like this. She didn't like how easily this boy managed to break through what little guard she had. It made her feel ... weak. Very weak. "Just! Go! Away!"

She slammed her palms against his chest then. "Raikou Kawa!" The Kido was short and quick. A veritable river of lightning poured out if her hands then, lightning enveloping him if he did not do something. But regardless, he would have to drop her, if he hasn't already. As soon as her feet hit the floor, she ran, with the same wide-eyed look on her face as before. "Leave me alone now ... it's past curfew anyway ..." Her back was pressed against the wall, waiting to see if he survived her attack.

Vannan's lips connected with Katrina's, she had started the kiss, not him. For some odd reason it didn't feel like all those other times he had kissed another woman. Something about this felt different, it felt warmer than the others. Was it the fact that it was obvious that she had little to no experience kissing someone, no it was something else a feeling he got when he kissed her. He couldn't place it,her lips were so soft on his own he wondered if she really was kissing him for a moment. There was a soft smell of peaches coming from her that he liked.

As they kept their lips together he moved his hands up her back. Letting one of his hands rest on her upper back as the other went up into her hair. His fingers ran through her hair as their lips continued to be connected. He felt how soft and silky her hair was, everything about this girl was soft, almost dreamlike, yet it wasn't a dream. She was real and he felt it. This was bliss, he wanted this kiss to last forever, yet it didn't. He felt her pull away from her lips.

There was a small gap in between what he was feeling and what Katrina did to him. He was still in a bliss like state as she spoke and moved about in his arms. He hand that was in her hair dropped to her back as she moved. All her thrashing caused his grip to loosen around her, giving her the chance to move her hands to his chest. In that short moment he heard her say something that sounded like a kido spell. His eyes widened expecting to be killed instantly by a kido spell. He had let his guard down and it cost could of cost him his life.

He felt it through his body, pain everywhere coming from his chest. It jolted through his body expanding to his arms and legs. Causing him to let go of her and drop to the ground. For a moment he thought he was dead, his heart skipped a beat. In a daze he looked up to see that Katrina was standing against a wall saying something about him to leave her alone and that it was past curfew. Slowly getting off the ground he felt his entire body was numb. He could still move, yet he felt funny, his movements were sluggish.

Standing up he shook his head while rubbing the temple of his head with his left hand. His vision had returned fully by this time and he could see that Katrina had an upset look across her face. Was she upset that he didn't die from that attack? Had she hoped that he would drop dead? Or was it something else that was bothering her. The little anger he had against her vanished as he watched her for a few moments without saying anything. Taking a step towards her he started to speak. “That was one hell of a kiss Katrina.”

Continuing to walk towards her he kept his arms down looking at her without an emotion on his face. He could feel that he had a burn on his chest from the attack. He took his time to reach her making each step as light as possible, each step was hard. His body being numb made everything difficult so each step took all of his concentration. Was it a foolish move by his part to walk towards her after she had attacked him, while she distracted him with that kiss. Yet something in him told him to get close to her. The kiss felt real, it didn't feel like a ploy to get him to lower his guard, but at the same time he didn't understand why she attacked him and he wanted to find out.

Stopping a foot in front of her he smiled and reached into his pocket pulling out a pen and paper. He noticed that the leotard she was wearing was much tighter than he had thought it was. It seemed to capture all of her curves. “So Katrina let's go dancing someday. You looked ravishing in that dress and I would love to treat a noble to a date.” Vannan was still without his shirt, and as close as he was she could see the damage she had done to his chest from that last attack, yet he the way he carried himself it seemed as if he didn't care at all. As he spoke he started to scribble his number down on the paper. “Here's my number Katrina. I hope to hear from you soon.” He took her hand and placed the piece of paper in her hand.

It ... It worked?! Katrina had to admit, she didn't expect it to work. Nothing else did. But the Raikou Kawa .... Well, it was one hell of a spell. Her upset expression morphed into a self-satisfied smirk. "Serves him right. He ... He shouldn't have kissed me. He should have heeded my warnings." But yet ... she felt her self-righteousness fade before his injury and smile, to be replaced by a disgusting, nasty feeling in the pit of her stomach, as if she had swallowed garbage.

'Oh, what's this? Are you really feeling guilt? What kind of warrior are you, to feel guilt for hurting your enemy? He is your enemy, right?' The suggestive tones stated plainly what The Voice thought Katrina thought about Vannan. Frankly, Katrina found it infuriating. "Oh, will you shut up! I have nothing to feel guilty for!" It wasn't until she said the words did she realize that she had said the words out loud, nor that had stomped her foot as she said them. Her cheeks were pink as well, from anger, and- well, there was something in what the voice said after all.

Laughter was the normally the response she got from the voice, but this time around, she only received silence. Which, frankly, was more disturbing than laughter. It wasn't until her eyes focused that she realized why; Vannan was walking closer. "He's saying something ... But surely he doesn't expect me to hear him over that drumming. But oh, Kami ... his lips look far too good. No man should have such tasty looking lips."

She completely ignored the fact that she had just referred to his lips as 'tasty' (as well as the accompanying blush) and instead focused on the moving ... somewhere, anywhere. Just ... she couldn't trust herself between the anvil of the wall and the hard place of Vannan's perfectly chiseled chest. Only ... Her legs wouldn't move. They weren't broken, her knees were shaking too much for that, but they weren't following her orders. It seemed to be related directly to Vannan's smile.

Almost as an after thought, she noted how her entire body reacted to him. With just a glance, he sent her heart racing and chest a-flutter. A smile made her knees weak, and a kiss ... his kiss made all coherent thought impossible. She would kill for another kiss. Suddenly, her imagination went into overdrive. It was a sudden, vivid image, one that she couldn't escape - even if she wanted to.



It was dark, the room lit only barely with candles. Their scent lingered in the air; vanilla, with a hint of rosemary. It was a hotel room, obvious from the freshly laundered sheets and 25 dollar since cooler clutched in her hand. They were on the beach, she could hear the waves crashing on the shore. Suddenly, arms grabbed her from behind, pulling her into a familiar set of lips. A smile breaks over her lips as she kisses her new husband. 'Welcome back ...' he had to leave, to get the wine. Wine was important on ones honeymoon. Essential for a good night.

Her voice was teasing as she called him over, pulling two pristine glasses from between the sheets. 'I've been waiting.' Vannan pours the wine, the smile she fell in love with plastered on his face. They share a glass, basking in each other's company as only newlyweds do. A single glass of wine was all they shared. The memories of this night were far more precious than any courage that could be found at the bottom of a glass.

It started slow, a gentle touch, a shy giggle. Even after years together, Vannan still made Katrina feel like that inexperienced fifth seat that met him that one fateful night, on that dark Parisian road. "Do you ever think about the day we met?" Her eyes rose to meet his. Only love was in his gaze. The sight of him, loving her despite everything, the long hours and abstinence, meant more to her than anything. "Always." His response was soft, but warm, with the tenderness she had grown to love about him. His hands held hers, a flicker of electricity making her heart jump in her throat.

Their first time was magical, on the back of the canoe in Venice, serenaded by the sounds of the water. Their relationship was a wild one; he held her as she grieved for her family. She rescued him from the clutches of the Vandenreich. There was no give and take; they shared everything they had, from the moment this relationship surged into existence in the back of the Lightning River. And through everything, through the death threats, long distance, and Katrina's emotional constipation, he stuck with her. She couldn't ask for anything more.

Then it was time. She leaned forward to kiss him, tasting of inexperience and grapes. Even after all this time, kissing him still stopped her heart. The scene popped as quickly as it came. Her breath was heavy, her back straight and eyes wild. She felt like ... like a deer in the headlights. She couldn't run, couldn't think ... Her Damn body was burning hot again. All she wanted was for Vannan to kiss her, to take her like he did in the fantasy and make her dream a reality. A squeak left her. This couldn't be happening!.She needed to run and hide and-

She ran, her swift legs carrying her off the wall ... And straight into the bare chest of the Quincy. 'Oh, Kami ... why does this happen to me ... ? Alright, nice and easy, extricate yourself from the situation.' That was a good plan. It was safe, proper, and altogether unlikely to end with Katrina ravishing Vannan in the middle of the road. 'Which ... which would be bad, Damn it. I refuse to think otherwise!' Yes, her face was red because of the anger and embarrassment at such a debasing act. Surely not because she seriously wanted to just that.

But despite her yelling at herself, her arms wouldn't move. Well, that's not quite accurate. They wouldn't move away. They were quite content to trace up down his chest, the tips of her long nails no doubt kindling some form of desires in him. Yet, she found she didn't mind as much as she should. His scent caught her; sweet and flowery and- it smelled so good, she couldn't help but sniff him, which elicited a soft moan from her. She didn't try to hide it; she was in love with his scent. She sniffed him again, her eyes closing at the scent. Tiny arms encircled him-

And suddenly, she leapt away, her eyes wide again. A curse burst from her lips, sounding far too perverse in such a feminine voice. In a split second, she was gone, air ground taking her up and out of sight. But yet, despite her sudden departure, she still clutched the slip of paper with his number, and still tasted him on her lips. It would be a long time before she could sleep without images of him infecting her dreams. But somehow, she thought with a smile, she knew she wouldn't mind.
