Quest Synopsis: [It was supposed to be a vacation... Whatever the reason, you hopped on board a boat bound for a nice relaxing beach vacation, and the weather forecast had nothing but sun for weeks up to and after your time there. However, a storm rolled in, and you've been knocked off course. You wake up on an island... and there's no way home. Survival is your only option, until the time comes that a savior appears.

BASIC Synopsis of each Quest mission:

Mission 1: Stranded
Your introductions will start you on a relaxing cruise across the ocean, with no clouds in sight nor a wave large enough to even bother the large boat. When the storm rolls in though, you had better buckle down because you're about to find yourself extremely lost. When you wake up on the island, you'll find that the trip through the dreaded Bermuda Triangle has put you on an island without the dense reishi of air ground, and water of questionable security. You must survive as long as possible, dealing with the aggressive inhabitants as necessary, but no matter your preparations, eventually you will be brought down...

Mission 2: Salvation
Once you have died, you will find that you have been saved by an unknown force. The death you felt was merely a precursor to a larger struggle to return from the void by which you accidentally have entered. You must battle alongside this savior of yours in order to reach the final moment

Mission 3: Struggle
Defeat the one responsible for your entrapment, and escape

Kazuko Shiba was not someone who went on vacation frequently – or ever, actually. For that reason, he did not expect to find himself in the middle of a cruise of all places. Why did I let Raion talk me into this time… Kazuko groaned inwardly at himself, trying to make sense of his situation. The Vice-Captain leaned over the railing of the massive human ship, watching as the front of the ship cut through the rolling waves of the sea. Momentarily enraptured, the boy watched with childish amazement as the ship seemed to gracefully plow along. I have to give it to these humans… they sure know how to make the most of their shortcomings and make things like this. It was true. The Vice-Captain, during his tenure as a Shinigami, had seen many examples of human ingenuity. He’d met humans that could invent and create exotic things, and had bought quite a few games from the human world too. Well, maybe "a few" might have been a understatement, if the pile of games in his room had anything to say about. The boy was in love with human technology and gaming devises after all.


Behind him, he heard a few giggling voices, which snapped him out of his daze. The Shiba glanced over his shoulder, and saw a few human girls, watching him from their lawn seats near the pool. Even as the boy had gotten older, he’d still maintained that one facet of his features that he’d rather live without. Blushing, he made it look like someone had called him, and hurried out of their view. “Darn humans… They’re going to get me in trouble.” The Shinigami grumbled to himself as he found a seat on a bench. He was currently on the recreational area of the ship, so there were plenty of pools, bars, and slides all around. And, to his chagrin, many, many bathing suits too. “Yoko… is going to kill me if she gets the wrong idea.” The fact that most of the girls close to his age of appearance were fawning over his adorableness did not help him much. It would take one misplaced rumor or picture, and his life may become shorter. But maybe she’s not the type to get jealous? Well, better safe than sorry.


As far as Kazuko knew, he was probably the only spiritual being on that cruise; he hadn’t done any thorough scans with his Energy Sensory, but the likelihood of finding another Shinigami was too small to bother with. For that reason, he decided to be a bit liberal with his choice of wardrobe. His attire constituted of nothing but shorts, tropical shirts, and superhero themed clothes. As the moment, he had on blue shirt with black trim that the word “Marvel” plastered on the front; he wore a simple pair of khaki shorts with a myriad of pockets all over the material. Most of them, of course, were stuffed with an assortment of different candies and treats. Even on vacation, the Vice-Captain did not lose his sweet tooth. It went without saying that he had on his Gigai, for the purposes of actually enjoying and relaxing on the trip. Within his actual body, he had on his Shinigami uniform, including his Badge and zanpakuto, something that he always had with him when traveling to the Land of the Living. There was no telling if, or when, a Hollow or something similar could attack; Kazuko was a Vice-Captain, after all, so his spiritual pressure could attract some unpleasant things, like it had in the past.


Still, his Captain, Raion Sourestsu, had sent him on that cruise with the purpose of relaxing and getting a break for once. The Shiba spent most of his time managing Squad Nine for his Captain, since Raion was usually… incapacitated, one way or another. It usually left the boy feeling tired and weary, so he was due for a break after so long, he supposed. Wanting to get his mind off of the human girls, the Vice-Captain walked over to one of the eating areas, and sat down on a high bench, before he ordered a burger and a drink. Humans, along with their advancements in technology, also had a knack for making delicious culinary foods as well. Even if it seemed fatty and greasy, burgers did have their own appeal. Plus, all the kids Kazuko saw on the television ate this stuff on shows, so he might as well go with the crowd. After a few minutes, the waitress handed him his burger, and the Vice-Captain took a mouth-full of the food. Delicous... All and all, the Vice-Captain was feeling pretty good about this vacation so far, and the day seemed to mirror his mind.

She was completely undeserving of a vacation. So-chan probably knew it and the female shinigami knew it better than he did. Still, here she was. On a lovely cruise in an oh so familiar place. Something clicked. The smell of the water. The hue of the blue skies. The sun. That was what Anastasia Kuchiki loved most about these kinds of vacations. The weather was what made it for her. She loved the sun and everyone around her was happy. This was what Anastasia loved; happy people with drinks in their hands and a cruise on sapphire waters that ran out as far as the eye could see. It took her back to a nice time. Probably when she was human. She didn’t have many memories but it was the sort of thing she could feel in her bones.

The vivacious shinigami had gotten hit on by quite a few men of every part of the spectrum… much to her delight. It was fun. Some were slightly creepy… but she’d made away with enough wallets to make herself happy. Honestlly all she needed was herself and her zanpakuto. Her fingers raked through her silvery locks as she took her time to appreciate the view. Anastasia carried as many flasks of rum as she could. Which wasn’t many considering her outfit. She’d worn a navy blue and white striped tank top with a pair of damaged jean shorts that held a flask of rum in either pocket. Her wrists were adorned with a simple red bracelet and a pair of red studs in her ears. Lastly, she wore a pair of comfortable navy blue sneakers. Flat and easy to run in… just in case this cruise got a little action-y and less vacation-y.

She concealed her reiatsu as she walked along the deck casually until she saw a group of girls fawning over something. She couldn’t quite see what it was but it seemed to be important. As she got closer and closer, a mischievous smile spread across the girl’s face. ”Of course” She could see the back of that Shiba’s head and she knew it all too well. He was off to the eating area which naturally meant, she was too. Anastasia decided to seize this opportunity to harass the poor child just the same as she had before. Well… not immediately at least. No. In order to properly harass someone, you had to give them a false sense of security before you shatter their world.

“That’s quite morbid… even for you Anastasia.”

She shrugged and took a seat next to the boy who’d settle on buying himself a handful of heart disease. Ah. It’s okay once in a while, ain’t it?! Besides something that isn’t good for you always tastes better, aru~. “Mmm… I’d like Fries and a Chocolate Milkshake and uh… Chicken Nuggets! Por favor~!” She hurled a wallet she’d stolen from a man earlier at the waiter and winked flirtatiously. Chicken nuggets are the chunks of chicken from the gods. All of the gods. It was delicious. “Kazu-chaaaan~” she greeted him, warmly. “Didn’t know you’d be here, mate. What’s goin’ on, my little Captain Commander?!”

Maybe it was luck, maybe it was fate, or maybe it was just a curse, but in trying to avoid women to avoid his girlfriend getting jealous, Kazuko had run into another woman. An acquaintance, a comrade, a fellow member of the nobility. While they were both members of different noble families - one disgraced, one held in high esteem - they still knew of what it was like to be of a cut above the common folk. They also both knew what it was like to be the common folk.

Ana ordered her food, not with cash from some boy's wallet, but with the whole wallet itself. The waiter looked at the cute Shinigami in disguise, gave her a wink, and kept the wallet at the counter. He gave her a look that said "if he asks, he forgot it here" and put in her order. It came out to her quickly, sooner than other orders, much to the annoyance of a few patrons who had been waiting in the hot sun with the hot floorboards underneath bare feet for longer than her. Sometimes it was good to be attractive.

Other times... it could get you into trouble. As Ana ate and the two Shinigamis talked, suddenly the sky would darken. If they looked up, they'd see blue sky, but a thick shadow had fallen over the two and the deck would feel five degrees cooler in a split second. Upon turning around, the two would see it... A large, tall, black... security guard. The man was absolutely massive, with arms like tree trunks, and he was staring daggers at Ana. "Miss, you're going to have to come with me."

The waiter gave Ana a wave as the guard grabbed her, violently, by the arm and dragged her away inside the ship. That cute flirty waiter had seen that she was stealing wallets, and had phoned the security guard, making her food quickly so she'd still be there when they arrived in record time. They stuck her in a cold chair and merely instructed her to empty out her pockets for any other personal items that she might have stolen. They had received more than one complaint of a missing wallet, and were pretty proud of themselves for finding such a "stupid criminal"

It was a shame; a case of bad luck, really. The burger had tasted so good too. As soon the boy heard her voice, Kazuko literally spit out the bite he had taken, and jumped back. “Y-you!?” He stammered, trying to make sense of his predicament – no, his nightmare. How could she be here? That was impossible! There was no way. This… this has to be some sort of joke. Maybe I’ve been out in the sun too long… Unfortunately, no matter how hard he rubbed his eyes, she wouldn’t go away. Darn. Hesitantly, Kazuko answered Anastasia, “I’m… on vacation… what are you doing here?" Quite honestly, the boy had met with the woman to many times to be considered healthy. He could just feel his life growing shorter with each one of her haphazard remarks, or attempts to get under his skin. She was a monster!

Suddenly, a shadow enveloped both of their figures, and Kazuko looked up, mouth agape at what he was seeing. Why is everyone so tall… Judging by his uniform, he seemed to be some sort of security guard, which meant there was trouble if he was looking for one of them. The large man violently grabbed Anastasia, dragging her away. Kazuko stood taller, and ran to behind the guard, his fists clenched, and his eyebrows furrowed. The boy gathered in some breath, and said, practically yelling, “Thank you! If there weren’t people watching him, he would have done summersaults. His headache was gone! No more annoyances! No more stolen candy! No more Anastasia! The whole moment made the boy wonder if it was his birthday, or if Christmas had come early. Wow. Vacation IS fun. Beaming rainbows, the Vice-Captain jogged back to his seat, picked up Anastasia’s unfinished plate, and poured its contents onto his own.

He took a bite of everything that was on it, moaning at the savory flavors. Everything tastes so much better! Kazuko had to find the person responsible for sending the other Vice-Captain packing. He needed to give the person a handshake, or some money, to thank them for their charity. It was not every day that a blessing such as this landed on his lap. Oh, thank the Soul King. But maybe he was a little too happy about this situation? His own peer had been taken away to some unknown place, and who knows what they would do with her there. Besides, now that he thought about it, what had she even done? Probably stole something. Sounds like something these humans would get riled up about. Oh well, she’ll be fine. Better not let this get in the way of my vacation. It’s bad enough I have to work with her after all. Kazuko took a long sip from the milkshake, enjoying the sugary concoction.

It was all gravy here, bro. Things were going perfectly. She was even getting her food first before many people. Even the waiter was winking back. Boy was he cute. Things were going wonderfully. Many other people looked at her with envy as she began digging into her food. She started by taking a french fry and dipping it in her milkshake. “Mmm… Kazu-chan! Have you tried doing this? It’s so good!” Her voice was full of delight. She was taking in the surprised tones of his voice along with his startled face. She smiled wolfishly. “Yes. Me. I take it you’re having a dandy time~” she said raising another french fry and dipping it in her milkshake.

“As it turns out, I’m on vacation as well~ But I’m sure So-chan had some other alternative. Either way, I have no choice! I’m here~” she chuckled. He did always have a reason behind everything. More often than not, she couldn’t figure out why he made her do somethings unless it was a straight forward mission. If it was some secret plan and she figured it out, then she’d get knocked out or placed in some predicament where she was completely helpless and unable to do anything. She may have made it look easy, but being Sozen’s lieutenant was always some kind of scary adventure… Like going to the dentist. She had some fries and nuggets and a sip of her milkshake before everything decided to blow up in her face. "Miss, you're going to have to come with me." She’d been chewing…until she heard that. For half a second, she was genuinely surprised.

“I KNEW it. Your stupid habits of stealing was going to get you in trouble one day. Anastasia, I told you this already!”

Calmly, Anastasia stood up and allowed herself to be whisked yanked away by Mr. Big, Burly and Scary as Hell. She had to giggle. OoooooOOOoOoooOoOOh. She got caught. She saw the cute water wave at her and she waved back, even blowing him a kiss. She then looked at Kazuko briefly and said “I’ll find ye! Don’t worry~” Her words were eerie on purpose. A last attempt at scaring him before she was hauled of to god knows where on this ship. It’s been a very long time since she’s gotten caught! It was almost amazing to the female. It registered… but WOW. This is funny. She was already thinking of the shenanigans she could do.

As they made her empty out her pockets, she started pulling them out from hiding in her shirt and other hidden pockets of her shorts… all except for one. She kept one in a specific place under her shirt and she kept her flasks. As she did so, she spoke. "I… I must confess…M-My name is Hokori Kuchiki…and I’m a good person. I swear! There’s another guy on here. His name is Shade Kawada? He told me if I didn’t steal something for him he was gonna kill me and my little brother! I was just sitting with him. I was happy he was alright so I tried to buy him a treat~” She started to pout and look up at the guard. “I didn’t mean to…” Her voice lingered as she just told the most ridiculous lie ever. “That’s not your name! What. Anastasia!!” he yelled incredulously. Whether it worked or not, Ana didn’t know. She had to try at least, right?

As Kazuko finished up his food, he would hear a far too cheery employee get on the loudspeaker and talk, no, scream into the mic. She probably didn't even need the amplification to be heard, but she used it anyways. "Everybody on deck, come look over the edge of the boat and see the fabled Bermuda's Triangle! It doesn't look like much, but many famous ships have been lost there!" The woman was too loud to ignore or block out, and the rush of people to the side of the ship would sweep away Kazuko as well.

Meanwhile, Ana's interrogation was not going well. The guards had checked the guest list, and there were no mention of either of those passengers on board. So, either she was a stowaway, or a dirty liar. And either way, they didn't like her presence on this boat. They handcuffed her to the table by way of fancy chains. They allowed her to move around and not be uncomfortable, but the chain was looped -through- the solid metal table that was bolted to the floor. From her interrogation room, she had a very nice view of the ugliest security guard in the whole ship, though she also had a window to the outside.

She would have to quickly decide which was a worse direction to look at. Kazuko and Ana would both be able to see a dark cloud on the horizon, in the direction of the Triangle, moving quickly towards their boat. None of the rest of the tourists were spiritually aware at all, and saw nothing but waves, but the two shinigami could see it as plain as the money in their wallet. With both of them possessing weak to extremely poor energy sensory, they couldn't tell exactly what it was, but the way it was moving, there wasn't a lot of time to prepare.

As he was enjoying his food, an obnoxiously loud voice came on through speakers, jarring the boy to attention. He covered his ears, trying to keep her voice out, but found that it was still too much. Just when I thought my headache was over. After the announcement cut-off, Kazuko was literally hoisted from his seat by the crowd of people as they tried to make it to the edge of the boat. Instinct kicked in, and the boy went with the flow of all the people. Life at taught him that mobs of people were the quickest ways for short people to meet their ends. Kazuko did not want to spend his vacation recovering from a broken everything. Anyway, he kept going with the flow, until finally, the crowd stopped, and he was able to catch his breath. Too bad, though, because he was still too short to see past the chests of most of the humans there. Might as well check it out then. He thought as he dropped to ground and began crouching his way past the legs of everyone. Kazuko would make it to the railing, and finally pick himself back up.

Kazuko looked over the railing, and saw nothing but sea. This is what has everyone so excited? This is just ocean. Nothing to be amazed about. I guess humans can over exaggerate things too, I guess. The boy sighed, crossing his arms over the railing, and setting his head down. There was nothing interesting after all, and he would have to wait until the crowd behind him dispersed before he could make it back to his food. Something was off though. Eyebrows quirked, he glanced around, a gnawing sensation prickling at his awareness. Finally, after scanning the horizon, he found it. A series of black, ominous clouds. Are those coming here? Stranger though, was that none of the humans here seemed to even notice the clouds. Maybe the Bermuda Triangle was a big thing after all? Hesitantly, the Vice-Captain pushed the strange feeling away. What was there to be afraid of? The worst it could be was storm, and the boat was probably safe as it was.

Regardless of whatever was bugging him, the boy decided to continue looking over the railing. As long as he was there, he might as well try and find what made these waters so special. Maybe there were pirates or aliens? That would make it interesting. He remembered a few stories from his mother about ships and the monsters that lurked underneath. Yeah… maybe that’s what has everyone so riled up. Monsters and sunken ships. Treasure too. I guess that’s cool. Anastasia would probably like the treasure… He smiled, realizing that she wasn’t there. Grudgingly, however, his smiled faded as he remembered the other Vice-Captain’s parting words. She’s going to try and find me? I think I need to find a nice quiet part of the ship to hide then. Better safe than sorry if those Rent-a-Cops can’t keep her locked up. I'd rather not see her again for the rest of the vacation if I can help.

Hmph. Damn. Saw through everything. Since when do they have a guest list!? That's weird. She'd never thought of that. They kept her locked up and there he was... just before her eyes. Tall and ugly. Anastasia's face nearly twisted at the sight of him. What was worse though, was Shoku-chan's never-ending lecture about why stealing is bad and how she'd be in even bigger trouble if she was truly human and blah, blah, blah. She sat back in a cool metal chair besides a window and out of it.

"There's a storm coming, Mister Guard."

There was. There were dark storm clouds heading their way. They'd better batten down the hatches and brace the waves. Anastasia knew this purely from experience. She looked at him and back out the window and shrugged. Big fancy ships had stuff to accommodate storms right? Nothing looked out of the ordinary to her at least. For now, she just had to devise a plan out of this cell.

The guard refused to listen to Ana. They thought her to be a liar, new her to be a thief, and assumed her to be pulling their leg. The ugly guard did peek out the window, but he saw nothing, and chalked it up to either the ravings of a madwoman, or a feeble attempt to escape the justice and the punishment that she deserved. Meanwhile, Kazuko, up on the deck of the ship, saw the dark clouds gather on the horizon and stayed silent. The storm continued to grow dark, but it stayed many miles away from the boat, and didn't even appear to threaten the cruise that was idly moving by.

However, Kazuko would have a split second realization that his energy sensory was picking up something, something close, and not in the direction of the storm. The first wave struck the boat from the opposite side in which everyone was staring into the Triangle, and it hit the boat hard. As if the entire cruise ship had just been slapped in the face, it keeled over to the side under the force of the wave, sending more than one traveler into the waters below. They wouldn't survive, not with that extreme fall into the water. At that height, hitting the water without a trained form would feel as though they were striking bare concrete.

In Ana's cell, she would feel the entire room tip over, and the ugly guard toppled to the floor. That's when she saw it, her way out. The key to the cuffs was in his pocket and with the loose chain she could reach it... if she was willing to reach into the ugly man's pants. The key was tucked into the waistband of the fabric, and if she didn't act fast, she'd have to actually strip the man down to get the key, and with the storm coming, it wasn't going to be easy to do.

The second wave hit the boat from the Triangle side, and if Kazuko had still stuck around the edge, he'd see the ocean literally come up out of nowhere with the wave. There was no leading up, no warning, it was merely as if the sea had uppercut the cruise liner, sending the people who were tottering on the edge to be thrown back across the deck. More than one neck was broken, there was blood everywhere as limbs were torn off when caught in the railing, and the smell and sound of death was in the air.

For Ana, this wouldn't affect her. She couldn't see it nor smell it, she just had to prepare for the storm from the interrogation room. If she escaped her handcuffs, she'd find it hard to get out of the room, as there was no key on the guard to unlock it. Kidou or brute force could work, or she could merely hold up in the interrogation room and wait out the storm. The window hadn't started leaking... yet.

Up on deck, Kazuko really needed to get inside and protect himself, or the crushing waves were going to send him careening off into the waters below. Right after the second wave, the clouds started to form over the ship. It wasn't that the storm moved over them, it merely started to create itself above the cruise. It started as a small lump of black cloud, and spiraled overhead. Lightning flashed, showing that it was a very very very bad idea to try to use air ground to escape the boat. Kazuko and Ana would have to bunker down and protect themselves inside the boat, rather than escape it.

I guess this Bermuda Triangle thing is nice to look at… Kazuko thought, right before the gnawing sensation returned, grabbing is attention for the moment. The boy turned back, facing the sea of bodies that were crowding around, in the direction of the back of the ship. Something’s… not right. Mirroring his thoughts, the ship suddenly reared forward, going into an angle, and causing people to jolt forward. Instinctually, Kazuko ducked down, bracing himself against the railing before he could lose his balance. If he fell overboard, he’d have the dilemma of drowning to contend with, but then again, he was a soul, and he could always abandon his Gigai. That, however, was not really a great scenario, regardless of what he could do. Drowning was not pretty. Still, the shock and motion of the ship flexing like that caused many people to topple backward, some of whom fell overboard. The Vice-Captain knew that from that height, they were as good as dead. Darn… I’m going to have to search for their souls after the water settles.

With the ship returning to a stable position momentarily, the Vice-Captain righted himself up, trying to gain his bearings. Others were doing the same as well, and the deck was filled with a mess of panic and questions. Humans are too quick to panic. It took him a few more seconds, and some pointing fingers, to realize that something else had them unsettled than what he had thought. Turing back against the railing, he saw a wall of water rise at his back, out of nowhere, heading straight for the hull of the ship. Crap! The boy jolted forward, lunging to get past some of the fallen and scrambling bodies of the passengers. There were some benches nearby, which were fortunately bolted down onto the floor. Kazuko jumped and clung onto the material, and braced himself as another wave rocked the ship, this time, sending crimson flying. It was safe to say that the whole deck was in panic with all the injuries. Some of the water from the side went over the side, washing the boy before both the ship and the water settled again. He coughed. Nevermind. I’m going to have to do a lot of Soul Burials.

High above, black clouds were forming, shading the deck, and causing the boy to wonder just how fast storms were supposed to form. It was obvious that he’d have to get out of the deck into a more secure area. Would they be safe inside the ship? What would happen if the boat capsized? Questions saved for a better time, he supposed. Now was not the time to linger. Kazuko reigned himself back up, and would try to make his way toward the nearest entrance or door on the deck. There would doubtless be other people with the same ideas in mind, so instead of rushing, he would try and take it slow. Getting trampled was not a good thing to have happen to you when you were also drowning, after all. If he was lucky, he might be able to make it through  before another wave it the ship. If he was not, then he’d be knocked over by the sudden crash of another wave. Lighting flashed, and the boy realized he could not use air-ground to escape the swells. Likewise, all the people bunching up meant that using something like Sho would cause more trouble than solutions. He’d have to make it to the inside on foot.

Anastasia didn’t panic… but the idea of a storm coming her way and rocking the boat this way and that way and just making things generally unpleasant wasn’t pleasing to her in the slightest. “Egh” She nearly winced backwards away from the window and she saw the storm approaching her. It got closer and closer. She looked at tall and ugly over there and he just wasn’t budge. What a slimy git! She even warned him. “You lied to the man. Remember?” Her spirit reminded her. Thank you, Captain Obvious. She sighed and tried tugging on the chains she was bound to slightly. She was stuck here for now. She made the decision to move away from the window though, pushing herself and the chair away. Farther away because… well…In any storm, being near a window was generally bad.

The room started to tip over and for some reason, the entire experience was something like a deja vu to her. As if it was something she’d be used to. Anastasia was calm and remained calm for the duration of ship moving about. She tried her best to hold on to the table bolted down to the floor and the ugly barnacle of a guard was toppled over. Now was her chance. She moved immediately, scrambling over to the man. “C’moon….C’mon… Where are ya?” she was reaching into his pockets but it was no good…. But she also wasn’t going to give up. This man wouldn’t be here without some sort of key. Of that, she was certain. Fully determined, Anastasia set to work.

“Okay big guy. Give Anastasia yer keys…” she said to herself. It was ridiculously hard with the ship rocking about like this… However, if your life is in danger then you’ll move faster work harder than you have before. There was no question about it. Anastasia also had absolutely no shame or qualms about stripping the man down. Hey. If it meant freedom then dammit, she’ll do it. She violently ripped off his pants and his ripped his shirt as well searching frivolously for the key until she finally got a hold of it in his waistband. She quickly freed herself from the handcuffs and decided to sit on the floor and cling to the legs of the bolted table; wrapping her legs around it and holding on for dear life.

She briefly wondered if Kazu-chan was alright. She’d last seen him on the deck. Ah. Well. He should be alright. He was a Vice-Captain after all. If he couldn’t take care of himself then that was his problem. Sad, yes… but they weren’t lieutenants for nothing, right? She could see the lighting flashing and thunder roaring. It only made her want to stay in the room. Temporarily at least until this thing settled. She clenched on to the leg of the table tighter. Once this was over, she was going to need quite a few drinks.

Kazuko's slow moving was only making the situation he was in more dangerous. The scrambling crowd was threatening to trample him, and as he was moving slower, he was in more people's way. He was pushed around frequently, but eventually managed to squeeze inside. The cruise ship was built to accommodate the entirety of the ship on the inside, so everyone that wasn't killed by the initial waves of the storm managed to squeeze inside the cabins and bunker down.

The humans didn't understand what was going on, and the crew was rushing about like crazy, trying to save people, but all of their efforts were in vain. Nearly as soon as the people had finished herding into the ship, the clouds overhead had finished forming, and the entire cruise liner was promptly struck by lightning. So much lightning. Like all of it. All of the lightning ever was pouring into the ship. All of the humans were killed instantly, because their frail bodies couldn't handle it all, but Kazuko and Ana would survive. They'd be unconscious, but they would have survive.

When they woke up, there was no rocking of the boat as it set on the waves, it was simply still. Kazuko woke up first due to his Pain Tolerance and slightly more hardy body. He would immediately notice that he was nearly at full strength. He felt groggy that he had been hit by so much lightning, but his limiter was completely purged from his skin. He was still in his gigai, and he had the option of leaving, but something felt wrong. The air wasn't quite normal, and if he even opened up the gigai to a slight bit of his soul, he'd feel slightly drained. He'd either need to stay in his gigai, or fully abandon it.

Ana would soon wake up after the short boy, and she'd have to think quickly on her feet if she wanted to survive the interrogation room. Underneath her was the door out, still locked, as if the boat was keeled over on its side, and water was trickling down from the window that was now cracked. She couldn't see anything through the muddy water from the outside, but the small drips of water were quickly growing larger as the window creaked. If she didn't act fast, she'd be drowned.

You guys are now on The Island. I'll introduce it next post when/if you leave the boat. You each have two options. You can stay in your Gigai, or you can leave it. You can leave it at any time you wish during the thread, however, there is a consequence for doing so. The air is pulling reiatsu away from you. In your gigai, it is perfectly safe. However, outside of your gigai, 10 reiatsu will be pulled away from you per post. If you stay in your gigai, you will need food far more often, but if you leave it you will need reiatsu and rest far more often. Once you leave your gigai, you will not be able to return to it.

Fortunately, Kazuko managed to make it inside the ship. There were a few close calls were he thought he’d be trampled, but he made it all the same. Damn tall people! He groaned to himself. There were a lot of people where he was, and it was difficult to get any room to breathe. Outside, the sky was completely dark, casting a shadow over the entire ship. Yeah… storms aren’t supposed to form so quickly. It was completely unnatural. A few minutes ago, the sea was peaceful; now, the whole ship was bracing itself for disaster. The Bermuda Triangle is something after all. Since he could not see over anyone really, Kazuko was clueless as to what was happening outside. That did not mean that he did not hear the lightning coming, or the sheer flash of light that preceded it. The ship shook, there was a blinding light, and then his mind went dark. It was safe to say that his vacation was officially over.

When he woke, his vision came in patches, and his ears buzzed. Ugh…my head. He thought, trying to steadily pick himself up. The feeling of disorientation soon faded, however, and his senses returned to normal. Unfortunately, he soon regretted even waking up. Everyone was dead. Men, women, and children. Nothing moved, and the smell of burnt flesh lingered in his nose. They didn’t even see it coming… Kazuko spent a few seconds in silence, his eyes downcast and cold, paying his respects to the dead. Of course, he would have to perform a Soul Burial on every one of them at some point, but the point remained. They had lost their lives, and none of them could even put up a fight. I’m going to have to bring in a team to get these many people done. He had to do his job as a Shinigami and send these new souls to the other side, or wherever their lot in life had put them. Speaking of souls… I wonder how Anastasia is doing? The thought that she had died left him feeling a bit empty and upset. He was always mean to her, and she was annoying, but Anastasia was still a comrade.

Now that he had some time to think, the Vice-Captain realized something else. “My Limiter… is gone?” He flexed his Reiatsu inwardly, feeling it course through his being. “Did I take it off by instinct? That’s strange.” He told himself, moving his Gigai, making sure that everything was in working order. If his Limiter was off, that meant that he could probably deal with his situation better. Slowly, the boy began to shed is body, but stopped as soon as he felt the air wrap around his soul, draining him. He clutched his chest. That’s new… Something was really wrong here. The moment he tried to release his Gigai, he felt some strange effect on him. Was it an aftereffect from the lightning? It had been quite a long time since the boy had been struck by that much electricity, let alone in Gigai. Maybe it messed with his Limiter or the makeup of his physical body? Whatever’s happening, I think I should just leave my Gigai on for the moment. I can do it later maybe once I figure things out. With nothing keeping him inside any longer, he would try and go outside and catch his bearings. Better try and find Anastasia then.

She hissed out loud. She felt weak. Anastasia didn’t feel like moving but when she woke up, she thought she was experiencing another hangover. What was strange though was that she wasn’t thirsty at all. Not like she usually was. She always became this massive demon when it came to locating water when she woke up from one but this was completely different. The last thing she remembered, she was on the ship with ugly guy and there was a storm.

"…The storm!"

Anastasia shot up and was fully awake. She wanted to catch her breath but she felt something wet. She turned around and there she saw the window and the crack in the glass… and the muddy water leaking out. That’s right. She was locked in this room. The man was still here and she shook him. “Hey. Mate. Ye oughta wake up. This room’s not safe!” There was no answer. She tried to take his pulse but she wasn’t feeling anything either. ”Dead”. That was no good…. and it also didn’t make sense seeing as they both were in the same room but hey! Humans were fragile creatures. Perhaps it couldn’t be helped. She had to leave him here despite not wanting to. Performing a konso on him would be equally as difficult right now as well. It looked like they were underwater. Damn.

Anastasia grabbed the metal chair that was toppled over and started working on the door as fast as she could; slamming it with as much force as possible to force her way through the door. She wasn’t terribly strong, but she was somewhat fast and maybe the chair helped. The crack in the glass was going to spider quickly with all that pressure and if she didn’t get out, it was going to give way and fill the room with water. This was going to be a nasty end for the pirate if she didn’t get out. With more water seeping and her heart racing as fast as ever, she started to grow more and more panicked. She took a breath trying to calm herself and continued to work on that damned door. She’d ram it again and again and again until the door finally opened. If it did, then she’d quickly scramble out of there and run as fast as she could.

She’d run and run until she made her way outside of the boat that was no longer moving. “Kazu-chaaan~! You around ‘ere?” She shouted for her comrade as she ran and made her way outside of the boat. If the human died, then there was a chance Kazuko was alive. It was clear that whatever happened was strong enough to kill a human in a tiny room but not enough for a shinigami. Huh. Some storm. That thought about a killer storm occurred to her as she ran but she didn’t dwell on it until she made it out. Anastasia continued to shout out “Kazu-chan” ’s here and there. That bloody kid had to be alive. She wasn’t going to accept anything else.. Okay maybe she was. It wasn’t fun being alone though. He should’ve survived if she did but that’s besides the point. This pirate only lived for herself and no one else. But being on a creepy, quiet boat alone was no bueno so..
