It's a nice, quiet day in Karakura. The sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky, and it was warm enough not to wear a heavy jacket despite it being winter. All in all, a peaceful day. "Get back here you crazy cat thing!" Okay, maybe it wasn't. 'Doesn't this guy ever give up?' Thought the mod soul, running from the man chasing him. This man had been chasing our poor mod soul for the past twenty minutes with a big net. He had been trying to catch him the chimera for weeks now, never having any successes. Really a wonder why the man is still trying.
Even so, he was persistent. Kaze activated his armor so he could go faster, gliding across the ground. With this, he easily outran the man with the net. He kept running, enjoying the wind in his face, and ignoring his surroundings for the most part. He continued like this for another few minutes, before stopping. He was in a part of Karakura that he hasn't been to before. Not caring in the least, he continues to walk until he gets bored. The chances of that however are slim.
((Major apologies for taking forever and a half to get back to you. A few things got the better of me and life became hectic for a little bit. Future responses should be far more rapid. That being said, You do still need to post your skills/stats/reiatsu at the end of your last post. Additionally, I think your technique is a stat boost (assuming memory serves), and you should track those per the 2014 rule updates on stat boosting abilities. Also… I admit I totally forgot you were a plushy. That is going to make it far more bizarre of a thread.))
There was no such thing as a quiet day in the life of Yoko Kusanagi, at least not as far as work was concerned. She was the personal bodyguard for Kazura Uzaki, CEO and owner of one of the most powerful companies on the planet. Attempts on his life were rather rare, but there were generally plenty of irate customers who weren’t above throwing an insult or a shoe at him. Yoko made sure those kinds of disturbances were kept as far away as possible. Honestly, that kind of work was far beneath her talents, but once in a while her talents were particularly useful. Her senses far exceeded the capacity held by most humans. Even the majority of animals had senses less keen than she did. With those senses, she was often able to identify potential threats long before they could reach her employer.
This was one such instance where those senses spotted something quite a bit away. It wasn’t a threat this time, but rather simply something peculiar. From the uppermost floor of Uzaki Enterprises headquarters in Karakura, she saw something truly bizarre. Unless her eyes had deceived her, a stuffed animal had just run past the building at a speed resembling that of a fairly athletic normal human. It was unlikely a stuffed animal was any serious threat, but an animate plushy wasn’t exactly an everyday occurrence. She was interested enough to investigate, and she informed her employer before stepping out of his office. [smear:00ffff]”Something weird ‘s going on outside. No threat, but I’m going to check it out anyway.“[/smear:0000dd]
Rarely a fan of subtlety, Yoko didn’t leave the office through a door. Even with her speed, making it from the top of a skyscraper to the bottom before that plushy vanished was asking a lot if she took the stairs. She picked the fastest method instead, simply hopping out a window and letting gravity do the work for her. As physically strong as Yoko was, a controlled fall from a skyscraper wasn’t a threat to her, but she had no desire to destroy the pavement below her. A quick use of air ground right before impact stopped the pavement from breaking, but is still caused a huge rush of air out from beneath her that threatened to send the plushy flying.
And so there they were. A fullbringer and a living stuffed animal, standing in the alleyway between Uzaki Enterprises and the neighboring skyscraper. The exit to the main road was blocked by the human, but the alley intersected several others, and did have an opening about 50 meters away on the other side of the road. Yoko cut a fairly intimidating figure in her work uniform, but her voice held no hint of a threat. [Smear:0000dd]”It’s not every day I get to see something I can’t explain. I’d recommend you tell me who, or what, you are, and give me a good reason to ignore the fact that you appear to be snooping around.”[/smear:00ffff] Despite those seemingly harsh words, it was fairly obvious from her tone that she wasn’t going to harm the stuffed animal unless she was given a reason to.

"GAH!" The sudden appearance of the man and the blast of wind threw the mod soul a few feet back. "Give a guy some warning why don'tcha! Geeze, if this body had any organs I'm sure I'd be dead from a heart attack." Despite the tiny chimera's words, he struggled to regain his breathing with a shocked look on his small lion face. After another few seconds and annoyed looks from all three of the plushy's heads, he regained control of his breathing enough to talk to the man.
"You're...a..... forget..it... Jumping down right in front of me like that. What are you trying to do, kill me?!" The upset mod soul complained loudly, more to himself then to the human. He looks at the human once more, now able to have a good look at the one who interrupted his run. She was a blond woman with roundish eyes that currently had a hint of curiosity in them while looking at the small plushy.
'Are humans supposed to be that thin? Ah well. I wonder what she means by 'snooping'.' Was the random thought he had. "What do you mean by 'fact'? Also 'snooping', and maybe 'reason' too. Are those it, yeah yeah, those words." He whispered to himself loudly. "Yes, those are the three words I would like to know. That, and why you CRASHED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!" He yelled angrily before his entire attitude turned downcast. "It was really startling...." He complained with a kitten pout.

"You're...a..... forget..it... Jumping down right in front of me like that. What are you trying to do, kill me?!" This initial flabbergasted reaction didn’t even warrant a raised eyebrow from the fullbringer. Killing people was all too often standard operating protocol for her. If she had wanted the plushy dead, she just would’ve landed on him. "What do you mean by 'fact'? Also 'snooping', and maybe 'reason' too. Are those it, yeah yeah, those words." Curious. Though the creature could talk, it didn’t seem to have a very complete grasp of Japanese. Of course that was what Yoko had used at first, since they were in Karakura. Growing up in a mixed race household and being educated in Japan, her English was passable as well. Perhaps this creature would have an easier time with that language?
Either way, Yoko wasn’t given much a chance to respond before the create started talking again. It was barely above a whisper at first, but the fullbringer’s keen senses were easily able to hear what he said. "Yes, those are the three words I would like to know. That, and why you CRASHED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! It was really startling.... " Her answers to these questions were rather cold, but she still showed no signs of hostility in either her posturing or tone. She wasn’t going to apologize or anything though. Yoko was simply doing her job after all! [smear:00ffff]”I suppose we’ll have to begin with the basics then…”[/smear:0000dd] It was a tone that, if anything, contained a slight hint of annoyance. Clearly, the situation was not as easy to deal with as she had hoped.
[smear:0000dd]”Nihon o hanasemasu ka? ((Do you speak Japanese?)) Or do you prefer English?”[/smear:00ffff] She waited for a response before continuing in the tongue of the creature’s choosing. [smear:00ffff]”Fact refers to the irrefutable proof I have. You’re in an alley behind a multi-billion dollar business, and my gut instinct says you’re probably some kind of spy drone. Snooping means you appear to be searching around this area, likely for a back door to said multi-billion dollar business. Reason referred to why exactly I should ignore those conclusions I just explained to you.”[/smear:0000dd] Before continuing her education, Yoko brought her left shoulder down to one of the chimera’s heads. There was a badge on that shoulder, and on that badge was clearly written: Uzaki Enterprises Security.
Once the creature had been given enough time to read that badge, she continued her explanation. [smear:0000dd]”I came down in front of you because your presence was suspicious. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can demonstrate that you’re of no threat, and not otherwise a shady character, then you have little to worry about.”[/smear:00ffff] And this was when the threatening finally started to come out. [smear:00ffff]”On the other hand, if you can’t provide a good reason for me to ignore the fact that a stuffed chimera seems to be able to control the wind to some degree, and is outside a building I’m in charge of guarding, then we may just have a problem.[/smear:0000dd]

The tiny mod soul just looked at the woman blankly for a few moments before responding. "Me, Kaze. Me is FRIEND. Do you speaky moonaneeze?" He spoke to the woman slowly, using his paws for emphasis at the wrong times. He didn't show it on the outside, but he was cracking up on the inside. 'She's like one of those robots I saw on that tv in the store before they chased me out and I came back and had fun. Hehehehe....' He was determined to do the same here. This time with less destruction.
The woman seemed annoyed now... That wasn't good enough for the very stupid mod soul. He wanted her annoyed enough to try and annoy him back. It would be like a game. He had no idea what he was getting himself into. "I is a 'special' soul. Are you still following me?" He said to the woman, stating that he was dumbing down what he was saying for her sake. He was having fun messing with the robot lady. He had no idea why she bent over to show him her badge thing, but it didn't seem like the kind of thing that a normal person would do.
"But in all seriousness, I doubt that I could get any information down here, unless you guys put important stuff in the garbage. Also, it's not like you can get me in trouble for just walking through here. I'm pretty sure that people would call you crazy for trying to arrest a toy. Well, crazier then you already are robot lady" He says in a teasing tone of voice, smirking an annoying smirk on his tiny lion face.
This creature was really starting to get on her nerves. It was clearly sentient, since it was talking and reacting to her. The sound wasn't muffled at all, so that ruled out any chance of it being just some elaborate robot. Those always had some hint of audio distortion. As absurd as it was to conclude that a stuffed animal was alive, it was the only explanation that made a lick of sense. Clearly, whatever it was, it wasn’t going to cooperate of its own free will. The only responses it gave revealed nothing of use, so the information that Yoko wanted needed to be extracted by an alternative means. Unfortunately for the creature, that meant some violence was going to be involved.
[smear:00ffff]”Such a shame for you that stuffed animals don’t have any rights.”[/smear:0000ff:1]
Without any further warning, the fullbringer reached down and plucked the creature off the ground. Struggle though he probably would, the chances of him escaping were non-existent. [smear:00ffff]”We’re going for a walk.”[/smear:0000ff:1] And so Yoko brought him into the very building she had just accused him of spying on. It seemed an odd move at first, but she wasn’t about to take him towards the research areas or anything like that. Instead, they entered the lobby and took an elevator down. Far, far down they went until they were at least a dozen stories beneath the surface of the Earth. When the elevator doors opened, Yoko, still carrying the stuffed animal, walked out into what could only be described as an underground training room.
The space was several stories high, and plenty large and wide. The floor, walls, and ceiling were all made of a snow white tile. Any attempts to break it would show that the tile was fairly impact resistant. That meant there was no need to hold back in here, since they couldn’t do any major damage to the room itself. Once Yoko had taken a few steps into the room, the elevator door vanished as another row of the white tiles slid over it. There was no way out now, at least not that could be seen easily. The only real way to determine which way the exit was, after being in this space for some time, was to listen for the faint hum of the elevator.
At this point, Yoko was done wasting her time on questioning an uncooperative suspect. She tossed him, albeit lightly enough that he would be uninjured, out into the center of the room. [smear:00ffff]”You haven’t answered my questions, but I have other ways to learn what I need. Prepare yourself.”[/smear:0000ff:1] That was the only warning that the creature received. It was given time to get back on its feet in the event that it had fallen when it was thrown, but that was the last time it was given a reprieve. Well, that’s not entirely true. Yoko was kind enough to start off by using only a fraction of her strength and speed. She walked towards the stuffed animal leisurely, giving it plenty of time to ready itself. Once she was within range, she fired off a half-hearted front snap kick. She had restrained herself to only 100 strength and speed, so there wouldn’t be much of a consequence if the creature was hit, nor was it that challenging to dodge. This was just the warm-up after all.

'Hm, I'm beginning to think that I don't like this lady.' This was what he thought right before she picked him up saying that he had no rights. 'Never mind, I really don't like her.[/color]'[/i] He began to use his armor to try and to hurt her, but the blades of wind didn't really cut into her skin. Seeing this, he instead decided to ruin her outfit by tearing it up. Whether she felt the toy ruining her outfit or only felt the toy pushing at her to try and escape was beyond him.
He continued to do his the entire time she held him. By the time they got into the white room, most of her outfit was destroyed. She tossed him to the ground in front of her. He managed to land, but just barely. He really hated this stupid toy body. Four legs instead of two, the heads instead of one; it was so weird. She told his to prepare himself. For what? Was it for that walk she mentioned earlier? He assumed that was what she meant by that. He was beginning to like her now.
Then she kicked him in his tiny lion face, completely killing the previous train of thought he had. He sailed back around ten feet due to both the woman's kick and his wind armor, allowing him to easily glide in any direction. His first instinct however, was to land on his back feet, as he had been partially trained to do when fighting. This did not work well for the tiny chimera, causing him to roll backwards three times from the momentum, and land on his stomach. He was fairly dizzy for a few moments before he shook it off. He was sure that if he was in a real body, that would have hurt. A lot. "I'll have you know, this is the worst walk ever! Of all time! Now I'm glad I broke your stuff!" He yelled angrily at the fullbringer.
He quickly got back to his feet and shot to the right. He wanted to see if he could get a better angle to attack from, despite being so much smaller and farther away. He used his additional heads to watch the woman's movements, while his main head just continued to look forward. 'So annoying... I'm okay when running around but still can't use it well in a fight. How am I going to even attack her; she's bigger, stronger, faster, and my attacks don't work, what did I do to deserve this?' He complained in his mind, not willing to quit fighting.

Annoying little thing… Of course Yoko had immediately noticed the creature’s attempt to harm when she picked it up, but it didn’t take much effort on her part to make that effort nearly meaningless. When she carried him, she had kept her arm extended, and that had meant the creature’s range only extended to her left arm. That was the one she used to hold him. As a result of his efforts, the sleeve of her uniform was mostly ruined. No matter, she could just expense out a replacement easily enough. Uzaki Enterprises bookkeeping was pretty damn good, but something like a replacement uniform for Kazura’s personal bodyguard wasn’t the kind of thing that would raise any eyebrows. It’s not like she was buying a one-way ticket to Aruba or something.
Thus far, that annoyance was the only capability that the stuffed animal had shown though. It had talked a bit, sure, but its power still seemed to be very weak. The natural durability of Yoko’s body was enough to resist any kind of damage from its power. That didn’t extend to her clothes, and the fact that her sleeve was shredded did say that there was some kind of potential here. Those with powers, even if they were this unimpressive, were valuable. Fighting instinct could be trained, taught, and refined. Speed could be increased, as could the strength of a power. Even one’s body could be altered significantly. Her left arm, now revealed, was proof enough of that. Unlike the rest of her body, this limb was a dark grey. It was fairly obvious that it wasn’t flesh and blood. No, this limb was made of dense and strong metal. It was no wonder that the wind whipped about by this creature couldn’t harm it.
Either way, Yoko carried through with her attack and paid close attention to the stuffed animal’s reaction. Disappointing… Either the creature simply wasn’t paying any kind of attention, or it lacked the skills to dodge even a simple kick. Neither of these were very good signs for the stuffed animal. If it wasn’t paying attention, after having been dragged into a room with someone who had just threatened him, then it spoke poorly of his decision making abilities. On the other hand, if he simply couldn’t dodge a kick at that speed, then that meant his combat capabilities were nearly non-existent. Regardless, it seemed like this creature wasn’t much of a threat to Uzaki Enterprises.
There was one peculiar part of the plushie’s reaction though. When it tried to land after being kicked, it attempt to land only on the back two legs. Now, Yoko was no expert on combat as a stuffed animal, but it didn’t take a scientist to predict that the chimera couldn’t stay balanced on two legs very well. It signaled something more than just a bad idea to the fullbringer though. The attempt to land on only two legs was an instinctual response. On a subconscious level, the creature thought that was the way to land. It hadn’t been paying much attention, and so it wasn’t a calculated response of any kind. This could only really mean one thing: this creature wasn’t used to this body. The way it landed would have worked fine if it had a humanoid form. It was entirely possible that Yoko was overthinking this, but it was possible that the creature had been trapped in that body somehow.
This revelation had piqued her interest far more than the cliché attempt the creature made at running around without any real purpose. Rather than attacking again, she spoke to the stuffed animal. Right or not, she put forth her conclusion. [smear:00ffff]”You still aren’t used to that body, are you?”[/smear:0000ff:1] She was fairly certain about that part, but the next bit was more of a leap, and more likely to be wrong. [smear:00ffff]”Were you previously another human with powers, like myself, but cursed to live in that shell? Or perhaps you are either a Shinigami or one of their creations. You’re certainly alive, one way or another, but the questions now are what exactly you are, how you got stuck in that form, and whether or not you want to get out.”[/smear:0000ff:1]
Most of what Yoko had said was an attempt to gather information. Given the direction that this interaction had been going, it was unlikely that the creature would be cooperative, but she had played down a potentially game-changing card. By asking whether or not the creature wanted to leave that form, she had implied that she could do something about it. Sure, she didn’t actually have any clue what to do, as she didn’t even know what a mod soul was, but she knew someone who could probably figure it out. Kazura was useful for stuff like that, and there was little doubt in Yoko’s mind that he would be happy to have something with magical powers dropped into his lap. Of course, that all only mattered if she could actually get this thing to talk about itself.

Knowledge may be power, but sight is the origin of knowledge, and I see everything. I am omnipotent, and nothing happens in this world which can escape my gaze.
