"Oh wow, this place is awesome! I mean, I don't eat jellybeans myself, but just look at this place! Hah, I would have liked to look around some more, but. . . Ah well, it'll be fun anyway!"
Taien was walking around the factory floor, looking at the vats and vast racks of jellybeans. Geez this place was big! He's have to be fighting in here against his opponent. . . Who he didn't know really. Honestly all he did know was that he was fighing someone. Also, he felt a bit different. Like he was seeing things and sensing things better. It also felt like his Reiatsu reserves had gone up a bit, which would give him a bit more spellcasting time. Other than that though, he didn't really feel any different. It probably would help with whoever he was fighting though, Taien sort of needed to work on his senses before hand. But now he got some for free! Awesome!
There really wasn't much to do though, just wait for whoever it was to show up so they could start brawling. Or, he could do something with the jellybeans! Or he would have, had his newly acquired instincts shot off like a rocket. Geez, these things were dangerous! Taien didn't know why they were dangerous though. So he took one. Not crushed it or anything yet, just took one. Yup. Definitely dangerous. But how to test it. . . Hum. Taien placed it on the floor, found some nearby metal that wasn't being used for anything, and dropped it on it. Then he ran, ducking behind some machinery. Now, what would-
-BOOM!-
Taien jumped at that; jeez that was loud! Explosive jellybeans!? That's what they had to deal with here!? Apparently so!
"This. . . this is. . . this is awesome! Oh yeah, this is going to be so much fun! Ah, better not make too much noise. . . But that's sorta pointless now. Hmm. Hiding? Yeah, hiding would be good!"
And with that, Taien moved around from place to place, on the lookout for his mysterious opponent.
((OOC: Picked Rank Up. Sorted out the stats and stuff in the next part.))
A figure walked through the isles and rows of what seemed to be to be an enormous jelly bean factory. It was odd in its simplicity and its genius, jelly beans that were able to maintain their color and form, but they had something evil about them. Just a close inspection with Hokori's nose was enough. He could smell it, explosive liquid possibly nitroglycerin was mixed into every single jellybean around him. This was disturbing, what was more he had no idea who his competitor would be. He needed to be weary, combatants from possibly three of the four worlds were here in this tournament. It was possible he could have gotten several different types of spiritual entities. He pooled his reiastu into his body and then released it into a technique, while he used it flashingly against Raygin Kawada this time it was subtle.
A glowing golden ring appeared on his forehead, it was his anima ability. He had worked tiresomely to learn and perfect the powers of this particular anima. It's abilities would become clear when combat was started. As he turned the corner a vibration reverberated throughout the complex, Someone or something had set off some of the jelly beans. He stepped off with a shunpo that brought him to a intriguing sight. A blast radius that was more than fifteen feet in diameter from what seemed to be one jellybean. That was useful to know, he began to let his energy sensory feel out like a creeping net and he managed to detect.... something? Something massive, something with a spiritual pressure on par with his, but the strength of his reiastu was on par with that of his Cousin Iro pre-Bankai.
Another Shunpo brought him behind the person he was apparently fighting, however it stopped him short. He had appeared stealthy behind the person. However it was a shinigami, and by the looks of it. His cousin's second in command, "Taien Hadohou, Vice-Captain of the Kidou Corps." Hokori walked into the light. his Haori lofted around his frame, his sword still strapped to his side. "Will you stand down? And merely allow his victory to come to me? As a friend of my family, I am asking you too, you must understand. The Secrets of the King's Key must be protected at all costs. If not," He put a hand on his blade and drew it. He didn't know how strong or fast this kid was, however his reiastu strength and pool were relevantly superior to Hokori's by a margin in both categories. He'd have to end things quickly before things got out of hand.
He noted that like Kyomei, Taien seemed to lack a Zanpakutou. This meant that his massive Reiatsu strength seemed to be something gained by that loss, and would probably be supplemented with kidou and kidou spell weaving just like his cousin, IF his cousin taught him any tricks. He stood there with his sword to his side. "Let us begin." It was ominously quiet in the factory, if Taien would not back down then the first attack was his. If he would which Hokori hoped he would then bloodshed could be avoided. He had a feeling he would need the blade, it just seemed like something that would end up being inevitable. The air was stale between the combatants as Hokori heat beat thumped, waiting for the Vice-Captain's response.
Remaining Reiastu: 3000/3500
Anima of the Unconquered Sun Night: 100/400 Reiastu Spent
A special Shunpo technique where one moves to their opponents back. Directly attacking and sealing one's "Saketsu" (First Soul Chain) and "Hakusui" (Second Soul Chain) in one strike. The movement is so fast that an opponent may not be able to tell whether he was attacked from the front or the back and even an outside observer may find it impossible to tell what the movements are. Uses 100 Reiatsu per use. To use this particular brand of shunpo, the user must train to learn it. It is treated as a class 5 technique. As opposed to Shunpo, a 10x increase, Senka is an 11x increase.
How to use technique:
A focus of reishi around the feet area, and then launching off into a single step which blurs, not unlike teleportation in appearance, except it is simply extremely fast movement. Often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat, or to dodge incoming attacks.
Technique Name: [Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi (Cicada)]
Class: 2
Technique Type: Kido
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
It allows for a movement at great speed leaving an afterimage behind. The afterimage may even appear to have taken damage. Uses 500 Reiatsu per step. This one is referred to as a class 2 technique, and must be trained. It is used as a 25x increase for one step, but requires the user to have at least a 3 in Hoho or Hakuda. Can only be used once per post.
How to use technique:
A focus of reishi around the feet area, and then launching off into a single step which blurs, not unlike teleportation in appearance, except it is simply extremely fast movement. Often used to gain an edge in a single moment of combat, or to dodge incoming attacks.

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Huh, what was. . . That was Reiatsu, I think. Someone's using Reiatsu around here. My opponent then! Ah, which mean's they're coming then. Yup, definitely coming!
Taien needed to act quickly, they'd be here any moment now. So Taien, with his newly acquired mental skills, quickly enacted a plan. That plan? Blast whatever unlucky shmuck who happened to pop in, that's what! A few things would factor into Taien knowing they were coming, first thing, they. . . Shunpoed? That was a Shunpo! The different forms of fast travel the races posessed tended to make unique noises as well, and Taien would know a Shunpo anywhere. Adding on to that was the fact that they were in an enclosed space; sound was a lot easier to hear in there. Finally. . . they were fast. Very fast, faster than Taien at least. Since they didn't seem to be hiding their Reiatsu, Taien could guesstimate that they were faster than him due to the Shunpo.
Oddly, the Shunpo wasn't to him. It appeared to be where he dropped the metal plate on the jellybean. They probably would be coming for him next though; Taien hadn't hidden his Reiatsu really either. Taien decided to take advantage of that by standing up, and pointing two of his fingers at chest level, his right index finger and middle finger. Additionally, his left hand was at his side, and his left thumb was pointing at what would be stomach level. The thing about Shunpo was that it was a bit predictable, especially using it to behind the opponent. Taien was guessing that his opponent would use Shunpo again, and was rewarded for his guessing with the fact that yes, they were using Shunpo! Most likely to get to where they thought was behind him, but was now actually the front and a death trap.
Taien senses tingling! Form of a. . . Hokori Kuchiki? Huh.
So. The fact that it was someone he knew about, albeit only through Kyomei-San, was his opponent. That stopped him from just blasting open his chest cavity or disemboweling him on the spot, but only because of how strange it was. He was fighting against the Divison Five Captain then, and a member of the Kuchiki Household to boot. Although. . . the gold ring on his forehead was something new. Or new to Taien at least. Although, his new instincts were telling him it was also something bad. But Items weren't allowed in here, or so he had been told, so that meant it probably was Reiatsu. In fact. . . if he had to guess, that was the first surge of Reiatsu he had felt.
"Taien Hadohou, Vice-Captain of the Kidou Corps."
Ah, so he did know about Taien. Well, it probably would be a bit awkward if he didn't, since Taien was in his cousin's Division and all.
"Will you stand down? And merely allow his victory to come to me? As a friend of my family, I am asking you too, you must understand. The Secrets of the King's Key must be protected at all costs."
Taien blinked at that. He wanted him to throw the fight? Probably wouldn't work.
"Ah, Kuchiki-Taicho, I doubt whoever set this up would allow for something as easy as that to be a winning move. Aside from that, who could make a place like this and then let something like that happen? I'm pretty sure we'll have to fight, but at least we'll be fighting for the King's Key's secrets if either one of us wins or looses."
Upon saying that, Hokori drew his blade. Huh, it looked really nice too! He'd probably have to break it at some point, but it was cool looking!
Upon Hokori saying that, Taien acted. It was a strange move, but it would be fairly dangerous for Hokori nonetheless. Taien had a palm pointed at the floor by this point, descretely and not quite noticeably. He didn't have his hand held out, his palm was just turned at the side of his body till it was facing where he wanted it to go.
"Sokkatsui!"
This actually was one of the spells Taien had prepared previously, and so there really wasn't any time between saying the name and the casting of the actual spell. In fact, there was none! The Sokkatsui itself was pretty large actually, much larger than a normal Sokkatsui and it would impact the ground halfway between Hokori and Taien, some fifteen feet from Taien. The spell's impact would be loud and large, sending a huge explosion at Hokori. Even if this wasn't a direct hit, it still would cause some damage for him if he was caught in the expanding explosion. Additionally, this probably would cause some jellybeans to fall around Hokori's area.
What will you do now, Kuchiki-Taicho?

"Preserving the past, developing the future. That's what the Kidou Corps stands for." -Taien Hadohou
Taien's attack speed was fast, and powerful befitting a technique master. But it lacked subtlety, Hokori's senses, instincts and even his energy sensory could detect the attack coming from a mile away. An explosion rocked the isle, luckily for Hokori and for Taien by extension Taien's Sokkatsui was contained to try to harm Hokori. there was a flash from the smoke of the attack and if Taien looked up which he should have, he'd see Hokori hanging upside down from a chain. Using his skill in acrobatics he gripped the chain in his off hand and his legs clamping the chain. It was obvious he had used shunpo. His eyes were glowing, and the ring was glowing again. It was clear that he had used shunpo. His speed now closer, it'd be harder to follow him when he was using his full speed and power.
But it wasn't Hokori's body and forehead that Taien should have been focusing on, no it'd have to be that there was a tome floating around his shoulders, and if he looked at the captain's blade. It was different, it had begun to drip a green ink that covered it from top to guard. the ink spilled down dropping to the floor. Speaking of which vials of jellybeans fell from the explosion of the Sokkatsui crushing upon impact and exploding a few seconds later but the explosions were fizzled out by Hokori's next action. As he appeared above his last position released. He swung his arm and his blade released a enormous wave of black ink that hit the conveyor belt next to their isle, the product cases and the Isle floor. It threatened to wash over Taien mid-drift down, and as it thinned out it spread out to cover over half the factory floor.
He dropped down after the swing as the ink was still stabilizing. His body however was changing. A liquid blackness was rising from his feet encasing his body from head to toe. His mark was glowing brighter and where in the liquid shadow that stood his form should have been his eyes were glowing red eyes with no pupils or irises, just red eyes. He exhaled in a echoing fashion and took his stance. "Come!" It sounded as if he were speaking inside from the other side of a liquid, If Taien used his energy sensory he'd notice that Hokori's right hand, his elbows, and knees, were cycling reiastu to pointed tips like a reiastu drill to a point two inches farther from his body then those body parts from within the shadow. This meant impact would occur two inches before they normally would and it would shred and tear out the flesh it connected with. He held his blade aloft as his tome floated around him. He was ready and prepared, his ink wouldn't effect himself as his Zanpakutou abilities were nullified to himself. Now it was time to see what this kid could do.

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Taien grinned. Hokori had done just as he expected him to do, he had dodged the technique and was now. . . Up. Taien located him easily enough, he had been expecting something like this after all. It didn't take much to compare Kuchiki-Taicho's body type with that of Kyomei-San's, who also was well versed in acrobatics. The chain was a nice touch though, as well as the release. It was unique, to say the least. Oh yeah, the golden circle was also cool looking as well, and the tome floating about was also neet. The Captain vanished from sight once more, and it looked like. . . he was in the detonation site of the Sokkatsui. Again, perfect, he was spending more Reiatsu.
Really, it wasn't hard to feel the Captain's Reiatsu; Release was like a whole lot of condensed Reiatsu in one place. So, even if Taien wasn't able to follow his Shunpo very well, Taien could detect his Reiatsu just fine. As such, he was also able to see the black wave of what looked like ink headed at him. Now, Taien knew a bit about Hokori's release from talks he had had with Kyomei-San about his family, and while he didn't remember all of it, he did remember he didn't want that stuff on him. Corrosive, acidic, something along those lines, but something different than that regular acid. So of course he didn't want it to touch him, hell, he didn't want it to be in an enclosed space like this! Taien had his palm pointed at the direction Hokori was even before he released his wave, so Taien had ample opportunity to use what he was about to. His other hand was behind his back
A gigantic blast of wind and fire exploded out of Taien's outstretched palm, forming into a similar massive wall to the Ink wall. Taien's fusing of Tzuri Raiden to Tenran had given him control of the Kidou's shape, so he turned it into a similar gigantic wall as the one rushing at him was. It quickly grew in size, slamming into the ink wall, and incinerating it where it was, which would also scorch away any ink residue that was left by the wave. See, Taien had tampered with the Kidou a bit; he had added two new elements. The elemental threads of Fire and Wind were woven into this Kidou, increasing it's power to even higher levels than before. There wouldn't be any ink left over after this attack.
Speaking of which, it was now headed for Hokori! He had probably just seen a gigantic wall of fire incinerate his attack, and was rapidly blocking all exits. Trying to Shunpo past it would be a bad idea, the attack was generating a large amount of burning heat, and would likely damage him if he used it. The jellybeans would most likely be swept up into the attack, and either crushed or incinerated outright. Regardless, this was a powerful attack, and it would require something equally strong from Hokori! What would he use? Taien hoped it didn't just end right there, that would be sad!

"Preserving the past, developing the future. That's what the Kidou Corps stands for." -Taien Hadohou
Well, This is ranked number six on my worst ideas of all time list... What in the mother of all heaven is Kyomei feeding this kid...?
Hokori stepped off with a shunpo, he was beginning to pant but it was clear that he needed distance. Taien wasn't stupid he'd countered the wave of Ink with precision and a lot of power. He landed and skidded backwards. As Hokori breathed out, he began to murmur an incantation as fast as he "Heed the warnings of the deceased. A coffin among perils protect..." He stepped off again, his body was beginning to ache. He had used a lot of high level spells and burned through about half his reiastu so far. Not enough to be considered half, but it was close. He was now even farther away from the fire which was still trying to close in on him. As it did, it caused Jellybeans to ignite and explode, or have them fall in their containers and explode. This was only fueling and creating more destruction, and the worst part was that it was at a high enough power that it was leaving as far as he could tell only a trail of ash in it's wake.
He came out of his second shunpo and continued the incantation. "Step inside the symbiont and dig towards the truth. Dancing on a thin line..." He pushed off again, it was impossible to use incantations during the middle of a shunpo as it felt traveling at that speed as if one was having the air sucked out of their mouth. He was almost done. He just needed to land and finish it, he came out of his shunpo and spoke again with haste against the crackling of the inferno that was still headed his way. He jumped onto air ground and murmured even faster. "Control the tiniest motions. Withhold the simplest needs. Give life everlasting. Bakudo #87 Tsutsumi!" The good news was that the flames and distance blocked Taien from Hokori's view and Vice-Versa, the bad news for Taien was that there was no way for him to have ever known about this spell. This spell was created during his mysterious sabbatical during his Vice-Captain Training. Kyomei knew about this technique, but he doubted that Kyomei had had enough time to go into detail about it with Taien even if by name.
A sphere expanded around Hokori and not seconds later the flames impacted it and engulfed it. As Hokori stared on inside his liquid shadowy form. Flames danced across the bubble's surface. He was protected here. He could tell with his energy sensory the massive increase that Taien had given his kidou but how he did it was probably through some kind of secret technique or something he developed on his own. He was lucky, this bubble was what saved his skin. Its defensive value was even more than the fire storm outside its shell reducing his surroundings to ash. It was to say that Taien would have had to maximized his complete Reiastu strength and then double that to pierce the incantation spell that hokori had used. With the incantation, it held his reiastu strength times four as its defensive value.
Hokori was standing in his bubble of protection as the flames that cooked around him suddenly were not the only things doing something. Jellybeans across the factory were igniting and exploding. Their explosions paled in comparison to the fire attack that was surrounding him but what they lacked in power they made up for in numbers. Explosions rocked the factory all around setting off a massive chain reaction. If Taien didn't defend himself he'd blow himself up with the chain reaction he set off with his own attack. Machinery was destroyed Chains melted or fell, conveyor belts melted or were otherwise blown to pieces by the jelly beans.
While this happened still safe in his bubble and surrounded by the last bits of fire. Hokori began to compress his spiritual pressure to increase his reiastu strength. He would lose a bit of reiastu to do it, but his hope was to at least match Taien's current reiastu strength while the latter was busy trying to defend against his own mistake. He compressed it making it stronger and sharper, his kidou didn't gain strength but his Tome floating by his shoulder began to feel stronger. It took him a few moments but by the time he was done the fire was finally done. He released the orb, landing on a rippled and ash ridden floor. The destruction capabilities of the Kidou corps were not to be underestimated, that was for sure.
He began to flex his reiastu, walking towards where he had last seen the other shinigami, gravitational pressure was starting to rock the area. Only one class behind Hokori, Taien wouldn't feel much effect from it. Only minor trouble breathing and shaking in his legs, these could be ignored with the right focus. That focus took away concentration from the battle field. Hokori's walk was slow and methodical, as if he had all the time in the world. Which was a little true and a little untrue. He was walking slow to regain some strength from using many high level techniques in succession, his breathing had become labored and he was regaining a bit of stamina while maintaining his anima and release. He wasn't in active high stress combat and that was helping him here. He felt the reiastu that was Taien and used his shunpo to find him quickly appearing around thirty five feet away, "You failed to burn me alive," He stated from his liquid shadow covered body.
This now was more dangerous Taien would notice he could no longer see inside the shadowy form to Hokori's body and the liquid form was larger then before, only the eyes, caste mark, and Hokori's release tome were able to be seen from within the liquid shadow. But he had no idea what else that could mean for the future with this technique. "When you attack someone, make sure you don't take down the entire building's interior when you do. It makes things messy." Hokori looked around there was some debris, but mostly ash and melted floor. It was a clear open battlefield now, across a factory floor. He took in a quiet breath and exhaled, his pain tolerance was working to it's maximum but he still was beginning to feel aches and pains from the strain of his techniques. "If you wish to prove your strength against a captain. Stop fighting at a distance, create a weapon like Kyomei probably taught you and let us continue. "

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Fortunately for Taien, he had a counter to the explosive beans that were falling behind him. The ones that were close enough to the fire simply were sucked in due to the whirling winds and heat draging everything not nailed down, save for Taien, and even things that were close enough into it. Which left the ones falling behind him. Remember the hand Taien had behind his back? That actually was originally for if Kuchiki-Taicho did something like Shunpo behind him or something. It had a spell ready to cast, and it wouldn't really affect his casting of the gigantic firewall of doom. It was a simple spell, but it would suffice.
The technique sprang into existance, a liquidish looking spell, using his Reiatsu Control manipulate it into forming a half dome behind him, blocking out the other explosions. So Taien was safe from that danger, at least. Speaking of safe, Hokori was safe as well. Although, because of all the Shunpoing about he had to do, as well as the jump at the end, he more or less just made it. Like, a few seconds later, he probably would have been burnt to ash. As it was, the technique was rather short, due to Tenran not being a very long lasting technique. Heat did penetrate Tsutsuri, but the technique was too short for it to do any major cooking. He would, however, be washed over by a pretty large wave of heat for a few moments, which further would hit his already low Stamina.
Taien was aware Hokori had survived, he wasn't quite sure how he did it, but he knew he was still alive. He could still feel his Reiatsu. Strangely though, it felt. . . different. His low level of energy sensory wasn't quite high enough, but he could vaguely feel that it was stronger than it had been. Actually, using Taien's own self as a reference. . . it felt similar, if not equal to his own Reiatsu's strength! Taien knew it hadn't been that high before, so what had he done? It felt like there was less of it around, but Taien couldn't be too sure. Hmm. . . cross-referencing what Taien knew about Hokori, the most likely solution was that he had condensed his Spiritual Pressure further inwards, increasing it's strength, but loosing out on more Reiatsu. Unless he had some sort of Kuchiki technique that changed it. Regardless, considering Taien's main advantage was his higher Strength of Reiatsu, it probably would be prudent to change it back in his favor.
Taien's Reiatsu contracted easily a little bit inwards, channeling a bit of his Pressure for a more condensed whole, increasing it's strength. It cost some Reiatsu to make the conversion, but it would be worth it, so he thought. Of course, this was when Hokori-Taicho Shunpoed into sight again. Taien had felt him coming, but now, something else was different. This energy, this feeling. . . He had felt this before, but where? He was having trouble breathing a bit, he was shaking. Wait. Shaking. . . That was it!
This is like Ren-San's indimidation skill! Never got the name of it, but this feels just like it! Probably the gravitational effect then. Lets negate it, shall we?
Gravitational pressure was easy to get rid of, when you knew how too. In this case, all that was required was proper control over one's Reiatsu, cycling it to push off the force of whatever's Reiatsu was bringing down. In an instant, it was off, and Taien could once again breath and move easily. He probably wouldn't have gotten the conversion done quite right if Hokori was a bit faster in getting to his position, but that probably had to do with whatever aftereffects he was dealing with at the moment.
"You failed to burn me alive,"
"Aha, I was sure you'd get out of that alive somehow. You wouldn't be a Captain if something like that felled you so easily."
Also. Apparently Hokori was a shadow person now. He could still see him, but the area around him was now shadowish. Was Hokori secretly Slenderman in disguise!? Quite possible! Oh wait, never mind, it was completely impossible. Slenderman wore a dapper suit and tie, everyone knew that. Oh wait, he was speaking again!
"When you attack someone, make sure you don't take down the entire building's interior when you do. It makes things messy. "If you wish to prove your strength against a captain. Stop fighting at a distance, create a weapon like Kyomei probably taught you and let us continue. "
Taien blinked. Er. What? Was that. . . baiting? He really was trying to bait Taien into meleeing him?
"Er. . Kuchiki-Taicho? If you're going to bait someone, please do so with bait that makes sense. You and I both know you would do best at that range. Besides, Kyomei didn't teach me his tricks. . .
Nigh instantly, six rods of light would appear and attempt to slam into Hokori. If any of them hit, he'd be immobilized, instantly. Due to the not-so-inconsiderate fatigue, his pain, and possible Reiatsu Exhaustion from use of so much Reiatsu in such a short while, this would be difficult at best to dodge, even with foreknowledge. The spell was crafted, moulded, and cast far more quickly than any other Shinigami would be capable of doing, save for those also well versed in the art of Kidou, and only those who had mastered the spell. If it didn't hit, Taien obviously would do something in reaction, but that depended on what Hokori did next.

Oh crap, well this was it. It was time for eat or be eaten. Hokori dashed forward, he needed to end this and now. The effects of the night aura were instant, as soon as Hokori took his first stride. His radius of effect moved to included Taien, and he would see the effect first had that the Night anima had. The world Inverted it's presence of day and night. The air suddenly became pitch black as if night had fallen and the shadows themselves became floating liquid. The lights became bleaching white casting bright flashes upon the floor with equally extreme shadows. Taien was however more focused on Hokori, his shadowy form vanished along with his body Instead there was a vague humanoid outline, He could hear Hokori's pelting Foot falls as he raced to reach Taien. His Tome fell into his right hand closed.
Taien spoke, and as he spoke Hokori skidded to a halt he knew that spell, and he knew it's effects. Taien probably also knew that it'd be too late to change course. However, what if he didn't have too? He shouted loudly "NOOOOO!" cutting off and stepped off using Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi (Cicada), His legs were still in pretty decent shape, as the Night Anima didn't damage them and it wasn't as hard to use step techniques as others that involved his arms. But he stepped off using Utsusemi. The Vague outline was still there in front of Taien at a distance, clear as day and had even appeared to take the six pillars of light to its midsection before it phased through the vague outline and then shattered. To Taien it would seem he had his attack had been completely negated somehow. However a second Vague outline appeared crouched in front of him just under his natural sight, using his skill in stealth and a held breath. Hokori appearing with his arm already lunging forward and stabbed him through the chest. It was on his body's right side through the lung, what was more the sheer sharpness of the blade sawed through the ribs that guarded the organ and connected to the spinal cord Severing the Bottom rib completely and fracturing the top one half way through. But those were only collateral damage on the way to the sword's target, the right lung. The sword plunged through Taien's back outward. It would be painful, and it would feel as if someone had lit his chest cavity on fire.
Hokori supplemented this stab with Speed Hana #3 Okata to increase his extending stab arm's natural speed by times three and then with Shunpo Karin allowing for his sword's stabbing speed to be accelerated to stepping speeds of times ten. It totaled out to be a whopping 10080 speed stat. It was faster than Mach 2, something that most people couldn’t even fathom for a speed of an attack. Taien didn't have the senses or instincts to grasp what had happened until it was too late and the sword had pierced him. His shunpo wouldn’t even save him as he had blocked off his rear retreat and the attack was travelling over four times faster than his step technique could take him out of harm’s way. This was merely from personal experience and a guess on Hokori's part. His predecessor Zeig Revolver had been of the same speed of Hokori when he had used this technique on Hokori. Hokori had with the same sensory levels that Taien seemed to possess and had been unable to react to the same technique. This would be bloody, and it would hurt. What was more Hokori's release kicked into overdrive the Nano-second that his blade made contact with Taien's skin on his chest, a kanji script the words "to tell" appeared on the back of Taien's neck, it instantly began feeding his statistical values and special ability attributes to Hokori's mind. Any techniques that he casted from now on Hokori would see as he decided to cast them.
The second effect was the ink, the ink that was in Taien's clothes, his skin, and inside his body. The ink instantly started to corrode Taien's mind and his instincts, and what was worse was they would keep corroding for a while gradually wearing down unless Hokori wounded Taien again which meant they would take another sharp drop. By that point the after image that had taken Taien's attack had faded, the vague outline dissipating and shattering the used technique. Hokori in one move had just possibly won the battle. Taien had no points in pain Tolerance, nor any form of Strength of Will or Calm Mind. he lacked the necessary abilities to take an attack of that severity and be able to function properly.
With a punctured lung it would be very difficult to get the needed air to breathe, let alone speak a spell or incantation. And the pain and stamina drain that came with that sort of wound would make it very difficult to mentally cast Kidou spells since they required concentration and focus. He leaped back using a shunpo, dragging his sword out of Taien’s body landing fifteen feet away. He, while waiting to see the damage that he had done switched his sword to his right hand. He sucked in air as he felt his muscles in his left arm starting to clamp down across his arm and the pockets of muscles that were completely shredded. It was bruised, torn, and spent, he'd used the anima too much and he needed to conserve energy from now on just in case he needed to release his last Ace in the hole. so he released the Anima of the Unconquered Sun Night technique. His Caste mark faded and the inverted world that Taien saw faded as well. If Taien was able to remain standing, and was able to look up. He'd see Hokori's true form. His arms were caked in sweat and bruised with his left arm hanging uselessly with the hand in a clenched fist. His chest was rising and falling, indicating shortness of breath.
Hidden beneath his hakama across his torso were bruises and were the beginnings of bruises and sweat on his legs as well. He'd just damaged them to use the Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi (Cicada), but it had been worth it. He was almost out of reiastu, but Taien's speed deficit and lack of Battle Technique knowledge of the Way of Omnitsu: Utsusemi (Cicada) would have hindered him greatly. He wasn't getting out of this. Hokori's tome which he'd been holding until the sword switch opened up at his shoulder. He had one last trick if he needed it but he hoped he wouldn't, he was tired and this Technique master was too powerful to toy with. It was either already over or time to finish this.

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Taien blinked. His spell had, apparently, missed it's target, who probably was coming straight at him this instant. Taien knew what skill Hokori used to get by it, and while he hadn't witnessed it himself, he knew about it. It was an advanced stepping technique, something that advanced Hakuda users could use. It was a stepping technique known as Utsusemi, or Cicida, referencing the shedding of it's skin. That was the reason why his technique had failed. Why did Taien know this? Because there was a distinct lack of hitting, and a distinct look of six rods of light sinking into an afterimage. So, going off of what Taien knew about Hokori, he was coming straight for him.
Unfortunately for Hokori however, that would be his last move. His stamina, quite frankly, was shot to all hell. Let's do a recap, shall we? Eight Shunpo, all in quick succession, his Level Three Night Anima, which damaged his entire body, a high level Kidou with an incantation to boot, being washed over by a wave of fire for however short that was, and now an Utsusemi on top of all that? Hokori had been doing a lot, with both his Reiatsu and his body. He was tired, aching, and really low on Reiatsu. He had barely dodged the Rikujukoro, and his reaction time and other such mental processes were probably pretty slow at this point. In short, he was beyond exhausted, and something like holding his breath would be pretty much impossible at this point. He was panting, very heavily, which meant that his muscles weren't getting the required oxygen they needed.
Even more unfortunately, however, was the fact that he had just appeared crouching in front of Taien. Who knew he was coming. Who had a spell prepared for him. He was attacking from the front, he was forced to do so. Why? Because the shield was still up. While it did limit Taien's retreating options, it also completely focused Hokori's offensive ones as well, all on one side: the front. The Night World obscured his vision, Hokori appeared, and Taien, thinking that he would be standing, was aiming for the area he thought his stomach was at. Except now, of course, it was his head, because he was crouching. The spell was mentally cast, so Hokori wouldn't really have a warning of what was to come, especially at this range, especially because this was an extremely simple Kidou, and especially because he had mastered it. One word.
Sho.
That was it, the first Hadou. At this point, Hokori really didn't have any way to block it, dodge it, or otherwise, so it was more than likely a guaranteed hit on Hokori. While it wouldn't do any damage initially to Hokori, it would slam into his forehead. It would force his head back, and the rest of his body would have to follow suit. Unfortunately again, that Sho's Reiatsu Strength was 1350. The Sho itself didn't do any damage, but the following backwards crash into the ground would. However, Hokori had been far too quick to stop. The sword punctured his lung even as his Sho hit Hokori, which caused him to be flung away at a fairly high speed. It would be quite bad for him when he contacted the ground.
Taien now had a hole in his lung, along with some bone that had been cut through. The first cut was a very clean cut, which was good, considering the wound. However, the violent jerk Hokori recieved from the Sho made the exit wound. . . slightly less so. The blade bounced off the bones and left a rather jagged exit wound to boot. So now Taien had cut ribs, a punctured lung, and a fairly annoying wound. Pity that. Taien's shield dropped after that, he couldn't maintain the focus to keep it up any longer. He sort of slumped to the ground, both hands on the ground to try and prevent himself from falling.
Hah. . . haha. . . Oh the pain. . . This hurts quite a bit. . . Least I- I got a clean hit on Hokori-Taicho. . . I need to sit down for a while. . . I wonder. . .
"Cough cough. .. H-Hokori-Taicho. . . Do you. . . Cough, want to take a little break. .? To catch our- Cough, breaths. . . No pun intended. . ."
Even with all the pain, Taien somehow managed a weak smile at his opponent.

"Preserving the past, developing the future. That's what the Kidou Corps stands for." -Taien Hadohou
He was ready, he was prepared. and because of that Taien Hadohou was going to either be crippled or dead at the end of this singular confrontation. Hokori appeared and lunged forward, his left arm extended out. he had committed to this attack and it showed in his from. His torso was tilted to the side from his crouched spring at Taien to give his accelerating arm maximum success for the stab, then something horribly went wrong. There was a great pushing force, there was only one spell like this that would only push and exert on one place, and that was sho. The first hado. It pushed his forehead and by that core spot his body backwards. However, what was horrible was that this attack, or defense did nothing to effect the sword swing in the way that Taien had hoped. The linear path wasn't push outward because there was no pushing force applied to the sword or sword arm.
It was merely applied at Hokori's forehead pushing his head backwards and forcing his arm, hand, and sword farther to the right of the Captain's intended strike zone. Hokori in that moment of shock and panic, coupled with the force of the push on his head felt his grip on his blade slacken. The blade now traveling faster than twice the speed of sound pierced Taien Hadohou's chest. There was no dodging an attack of that speed and he had used his one chance to block it to push Hokori's forehead back which had caused this outcome, he wouldn't have enough chance to defend himself. His body speed lacked the capacity to do so as well. Hokori in the speed of the attack was sure of only two things. It would miss his intended target, the right lung. And it would hit One or Two of Three targets. It would by pushing his head and that center backwards force him arm to his right. This put his sword trajectory not into Taien's right lung. But either into his dead center chest, cutting straight through the sternum and through the center of the chest cavity and severing the spinal cord. The second outcome was more absolute, where Hokori missed the spine and pierce Taien's left lung and went straight though to pierce his heart.
In one outcome Taien would still be alive, albeit he would never walk again. The other would kill him instantly, but there were other complications the two opposing forces ripped the blade free of Hokori's hand mid strike. It had now lost some of his speed, but a major portion if not almost all of it remained and the force behind it. What was worse, without Hokori to accelerate it with him coming out of shunpo Karin with it in his hand so it was moving at if not a little more then two times the speed of sound. It hit Taien and knocked his form back. Taien, was a master of the reiastu arts. However, he had a frail body. (OOC: a strength of 30 is almost half a average human body strength. I'm going to assume that's frail.) The sword would impact him with enough speed and force to knock him off his feet and into the shield he had erected behind him. his ribs and/or his sternum around the fencing style guard would be shattered by the impacted of the sword guard hitting his chest. When he flew back and hit his shield he'd receive large bruises and cracked ribs from his sudden acceleration and deceleration due to impacting his shield. He'd also have a major concussion which without pain tolerance he'd most likely be knocked out. this was liking assuming it pierced his spine and left him alive but wounded. The sword upon impact would have been roughly forced from the wound causing even more internal damage, if he was alive and still conscious this would cause even more pain. If he was dead then it wouldn't, of course.
Hokori however had pressing matters to concern too as well, his body was being forced flying backwards. Due to his body's angle, Taien was incorrect to assume that Hokori's head would be the first body part to impact the ground. due to the nature of Hokori's lunge, his right shoulder was partly behind him to counterbalance the attack. When he was pushed backwards, His right arm's shoulder and by extension his arm itself would have been the first things to weather the initial impact and it wasn't pretty. The force behind sho was extreme and the impact into the concrete shattered the right clavicle and humerus on Hokori's right side, and this meant that they were tiny fragments. During this his animalistic instincts kicked in with his acrobatic skills, his legs came up and as then did he tucked them during the flip doing a makeshift summersault. As his head began to turn the right way he forced his legs down to gain footing, he slid then lost it again and fell onto his tail bone, his back and then onto his head hard.
He could see spots in his vision as it flashed black and white. he flipped over onto his belly and then skidded ending up around twenty yards from Taien's body. It was indeed incredible, that he was able to use his acrobatic skills. But he really didn't choose to, as much as animalistic instinct and his natural skills he had honed for centuries coming into play. These things were second nature as they were not complex and not a drain on his stamina like other things that used reiastu were. He tilted his head to the side to get a breath, first it was one breath and then another. He had lost the Night anima sometime in the tumble. It was a good ten minutes before the sharp agonizing pain in his head became steady agonizing pain and he was able to scoot his legs up and force his lower body to stand up on his knees. It took even more to pull his torso and head off of the ground when not using his hands. His vision flashed red and he could feel a enormous knot on the back of his head forming from the impact.
Both of his arms were almost useless, he tried using both. His left wouldn't respond save his hand, too much muscle deterioration in the bicep and forearm he determined through each heartbeat that sent a hot spike into his brain. While he had the ability to flex his right hand. he couldn't raise it, that was problematic. He opened his left hand and reflexively a thread of reiastu formed in his palm to the pummel of his shikai. It flew across the concrete and met his hand. He grasped it and trying to raise it and immediately cried out, he couldn't bear the weight of raising his own blade. It just hung loosely in his hand making the fire in his arm grow by the second.
He took a step, then another and repeated this process. He was afraid of what he would find at the end of this walk. Taien had made the mistake of hitting Hokori's head, not his arm, or the blade. When one was hit by something force going extremely fast in the head or when straight on the chest in a concentrated push. The arms and legs snapped inward, not outward due to the counter of the force making the body more aerodynamic. Hokori really hoped he had only crippled Taien, he was crying. Tears of fear, Tears of sadness, Tears of Rage. Fear of what he might have done, Sadness of what Taien's choice had caused and what he might have to live with now, and Rage at Hokori's own foolishness. This was unfair to the child, and he was paying a price bigger than Hokori ever hoped to pay.
Hokori stumbled over and was met with a stabbed Taien, Hokori could tell that he had been stabbed through the chest and into the lung. But other than that he was okay, Hokori internally groaned. This was getting to be a bit much, "How about a few minutes, to catch our breath. I know we're both pretty banged up, we could use a bit of a respite." He was seeing two of Taien, and was sure of how confident he was of calling out his bankai but actually using it... eh. He was also unsure of how far he could push Taien with that lung. He wasn't going to make a treacherous move. But he would know the moment that Taien casted a spell now. He also got a full comprehension into what Taien's overal ability was. This was interesting, very interesting. He just had to catch his breath, steel his resolve and reduce the white spots, and they could continue. But on the flip side, Taien's instinctive reaction capability and his mind were fogging over even more, Hokori's release had shrouded almost 1/3 of his total insitnctive capacity, only taien's response could tell.

Apparently Hokori agreed with Taien's statement, for they said the same thing at the same time. There was a brief period of rest, and Taien got used to the pain of his lung being punctured. He solved the bleeding problem by casting a fused Sho and Tzuri Raiden upon himself, staunching the blood leaking out of his wound. It didn't help his punctured lung, but it would prevent him from bleeding all over the place. A minute past for the both of them, and Taien grew used to the pain. It still hurt to breath, and he had to take deeper breaths with his one remaining lung, but other than that and the cut rib cage, he was fine. He coughed a bit as he pondered what to do.
Hah. . . This pain is making my thoughts. . . blury. . . Though. . . I wonder. . . That ink. . . Corrosive. . . Not physical or spiritual. . . But. . . Mental! I need to end this quickly, if we go on for to much longer, I won't be able to think properly!
Taien realized this with a start. Now he remembered why the ink was bad, it corroded the instinct of the mind! He needed to get up, he needed to fight! He couldn't stay down like this, at this rate he'd loose! So That was what Taien resolved to do. He needed to get up. He needed to fight. He needed to defeat Hokori-San, and he needed to bring his A-Game with him as well! This was a Captain he was fighting, he wasn't an opponent to take lightly. He needed to win quickly. Up till this point, Taien hadn't made any moves, even using his Kidou was just to help out. Now he needed to take the offense.
This was out of the blue, another mentally cast spell. There were no fancy hand gestures, no big buildup of Reiatsu, just a simple spell; the other most simple spell to be exact: Sai. Standing up for a long period of time with a concussion like that would most likely force Hokori to sit down at some point. It would be hard to remain standing when the world was spinning and the like, after all. Furthermore, Taien was a lot less damaged than Hokori. Even with the ink eating away at his instinct, and the lung and puncture wounds, Taien had far less damage than Hokori. The Sai was fast, very fast, and would cause Hokori's arms to be bound together violently behind his back. Moreover, this Sai was infused with the power of the Elemental Thread of Fire Reiatsu, which gave it more power and would probably burn Hokori's arms a bit. More importantly though, Hokori would have to dodge it somehow. He was badly damaged by the Sho, and he had his previous aches and pains from before. It probably wouldn't have recovered all that much in a minute. Shunpo would be hard in this state, he would have to concentrate to gather the Reiatsu and then expel it. Taien had also changed the form of the Sai into that of a long arc; if any part of the arc touched Hokori, the rest would wrap around and bind his arms behind his back.
Rikujukoro
The second spell Taien cast, this was a Rikujukoro that was empowered by the Elemental Thread of Wind Reiatsu. This appeared, like the last one, nigh instantly around Hokori. Moreover, it's power was also increased. It was much more powerful than it normally would be, and it was made up of the air around Hokori. Either the Sai would get him, or he would move to a new place. That was what the Rikujukoro was for. If he moved to avoid one thing, he would be trapped by the other. They were cast with just a few moments between them, enough to locate and trap Hokori if he did escape the Sai, which seemed unlikely. It would be next to impossible to dodge the Rikujukoro in his state if he managed to dodge the Sai though. He was tired, still dizzy, and probably still in pain. Moving at high speeds would aggravate that pain. Taien was up by now, having gotten up with the help of his spell. His palm was raised at Hokori.
Raikohou.
A gigantic blast of lightning and earth radiated outwards from Taien's palm. Hokori definitely wouldn't be able to dodge this, especially if he somehow managed to dodge the Rikujukoro. He was more likely trapped in the Rikujukoro though due to it's speed. This Hadou was also empowered, this time by the Elemental Threads of Earth and Lightning. The blast radius of this Kidou was pretty huge; Raikohou by itself created a large blast, but Taien had made it bigger! Trying to Shunpo out of this one would be something he wouldn't be able to do in time, simply because of how large the blast radius was. In his current condition, this probably would finish him off if it hit even near him. Taien's other palm was now raised, and a huge amount of power had been gathered. This would be the final spell, or so he hoped. He really needed to end it quickly.
Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō
This was it, his most powerful spell. The single most powerful Hadou Taien had. Taien had fused three threads of Reiatsu within it, Water, Lightning, and Wind. The sheer size of the spell eclipsed practically everything before it, dwarfing Taien considerably. More importantly, the destruction wrought by this technique would be absolute. Nothing could stand before this spell and it's power. Everything the tornado of fire Taien had used earlier that wasn't completely destroyed before now was. The ground, the walls, everything. Hokori would be included among those things destroyed as well, if he wasn't able to do something about it. Unlike the tornadoe, he wouldn't have any time to use a Kidou in response. It was just too big, too fast, too powerful.
Even after that barrage of spells, Taien still had Reiatsu left. If somehow Hokori had dodged all of those spells, he had more ready and waiting. Normally someone would be exhausted from using all of those spells within a few moments of each other. Taien's control of his own Reiatsu helped to negate that, as he knew how to use each spell to it's fullest potential, while at it's minimum physical cost. He was taking more breaths of air in as he did all of this, still supported by the Kidou that was helping his blood be staunched. He was steady, firm, focused, and set on winning. Win or loose, this wasn't going to be easy for Hokori.

"Preserving the past, developing the future. That's what the Kidou Corps stands for." -Taien Hadohou
Hokori stood there breathing, it was nice to be able to take a minute to catch his breath, he just held his blade as it leaked ink onto the ground. He guessed that Taien was starting to feel the pain, but there was no blood? Seriously... this kid, he was using. He saw Taien choose the spell and his spell weaving in action in his mind. This was odd. Taien's innate ability to "understand" reiastu and use it to his full potential was annoying and powerful. He exhaled, allowing the moments of rest to come to him. He could feel the pain in his body, but it was concentrated. It was concentrated around the muscle groups of his left arm, and it was concentrated around the clavicle and upper arm bone, he couldn't raise that but to maybe 90 degrees and that would be with help. Not with those shattered bones, not until he received proper treatment.
He watched Taien, not with a cold calculation. He watched the Technique master with an odd fascination, it was funny. How long would he rest? how long before he felt the drain. Hokori wasn't going to seal his shikai, but he also wasn't going to spill the beans either. Every moment helped himself and hindered his opponent. However, he could only hold this moment of peace for so long. It seemed that Taien was antsy, he bounded up with a fierce look in his eyes and Hokori straightened out of his study. During that moment, he had analyzed Taien's powers. He wasn't afraid of it as much as he was before he cut Taien, though versatile it was very straightforward. This, he could deal with.
His concussion wasn't as bad as Taien assumed, due to the extensive arm damage that had been the initial soak of him flying backwards. Hokori had been able to maintain standing, albeit he had to switch shuffling from one foot to the other. He felt in his mind the moment that Taien made his action. What was more, even tired Hokori's reaction speed and sensory abilities outclassed Taien. Sai... mixed with a technique that imbibed the elements? His arms were forced behind his back suddenly. his wrists beginning to burn, fire element? Then he felt another spell, Rikojokoro. This kid was going to bind him, and... ah... well then... He learned the ability and power of this elemental spell during it's second use. His arms behind his back and body was pinned by the Rikojokoro. After this struck him, he doubted he could break anymore bindings. This was it.... Taien was up and his hand raising to point his palm at Hokori.
The explosion of Hokori's reiastu was massive. It was undoubtedly one of the biggest surges of pure reiastu Taien would have ever seen a non-technique master summon. The bindings around Hokori shattered from the force and exertions of the release. The roof already weak and prone to structural instability, began to collapse. However it was blasted skywards as around Taien's body, Behind Hokori and above them both. one thousand tomes and one hundred thousand papers appeared. The tomes all opened around and above the combatants and began to add papers to the already ridiculous numbers. In both of Hokori's hands were swords. He however had more pressing matters to deal with.
Taien now casted a Raikoho headed right for him, he also had the knowledge of the drawbacks of the elements now. Hmmm too bad he mastered it. Hokori stepped off of the ground using a shunpo after the Raikoho left Taien's palm in a shunpo. Papers coursed around him putting layers as he shot skyward at a speed even faster than the Raikoho was traveling. He appeared in the sky, "Kyousei No Sousho, Wan Shi Tong." His papers and 200 tomes that were behind and around him were incinerated by the enormous Raikohou that impacted the floor where he had been standing. Hokori appeared out of his shunpo in mid air and immediately landed on a plat form made of around three thousand papers all forming a platform for him so he could save every bit of stamina and not have to create airground for himself. Masting his shunpo had been invaluable, it was second nature. Instinctual, something that had saved him from further damage. Hokori smiled Taien had raised a second palm, oh? Hado 88... this was something special. And mixed with three elements no less.
The attack that he released from his palm was incredible, it smashed the hole in the roof to an even larger diameter. Hokori step backwards using shunpo once more after he fired. He'd be cutting it close. So he included an insurance policy, he opened his left hand letting his grip on his second bankai blade go. It was immediately picked up by papers wrapping around the grip and the papers forced it to slash upwards. The slash produced a colossal wave of ink at least twice the size of his shikai technique naturally. This wave impacted the kidou. It was not something he could use to stop the attack, but it would slow it down. Slow it down enough for him to use shunpo to land on the roof. using a curved trajectory. However as he did this his mental command was simple. Go on the attack. suddenly the remaining 60,000 papers or so began to swirl around Taien closing in forming a no blindspot sphere. Several tendrils of paper extended from the outer netting of paper looking to cross his body and shred his skin. And singles began to fly at all angles looking for a bind spot and a single cut, there were thousands of them. From inside the ball it would be impossible to tell where Hokori was due to the enormous amount of spiritual presence that was all his due to his bankai and having to focus on the matter at hand. he descended from the roof slowly landing on the ground. The tomes swirled on the outside of the paper ball. feeding it, increasing it's overall numbers.
The hado 88 had destroyed one of his bankai blades. But he still had one left. a few hundred papers flew from the outside of the ball while the tendrils of paper attacked taien, wrapping around Hokori's left arm. He flexed mentally and his arm raised, the muscles ached from the forced movement, but he just relaxed them lessening the ache. The papers having been there had seeped an air allowing for further corrosion, and what was worse, those tendrils were papers written in his corrosive ink. Even on paper to get some of the ink flaked of in a cut would be horrible on his mind. And his reaction time was now under that of an animal. No, it was under the animal point and heading for the point between an normal average joe human and an animal. This meant that he was starting to feel the full effects of Hokori's power. He had just burned up a large chuck of his power. How would he defend Hokori's now counter attack.
Furthermore, while Hokori had used only two shunpo and his bankai's form. Taien had burned over two thirds of his reiastu in less then 30 seconds, even with his ability to maximize his attacks with his understanding. The stamina exertion would be no small penny, it would be something he would have to worry about. His body would ache and because of this his lung would ache worse. Hokori's head was still throbbing, but his vision was focusing up pretty nicely. He just really wished Taien hadn't done the Sai, he was sure that he was going to require advanced surgery even more now on his right arm. But besides that, he just had to wait to see the outcome of this attack, conserving his stamina and his body's movements.

OOC: Hokori really isn't reacting to the huge amount of pain he's under right now. Therefore, this post is acting under the fact that all this pain and other such damage are affecting Hokori.
IC: Sadly for Hokori, things were about to get really, really painful. See, the Sai had just wrenched both of his arms behind his back. While this would cause his left arm a measure of pain due to it being fairly badly strained already, that wasn't the really bad part. No, the really bad part was the fact that Hokori's right arm and collarbone were both completely broken. The Sai had just jerked and wrenched that arm around Hokori's back. The shards of bone and the larger shards of bone in the arm already would have cut the tendons and other parts of the arm's musculature that let it move. Furthermore, without the bones there, moving the arm was completely useless. Having it jerked that hard, that fast, with no real chance to react would already cause extreme pain. The pain from having pressure put on his broken collarbone would only add to that. It would be excrutiating. No matter how much Hokori would try and put it off, his mind would be filled with agony and pain. He might even see large spots dance before his eyes from the amount of pain roaring through his brain.
Speaking of his brain, it was damaged. Whether it wasn't as bad as Taien thought or not, a concussion was still brain damage. Hokori's brain was literally bruised and damaged, and would impair his movements. The regions most likely damaged by the impact on the concrete would be the Occipital and Parietal Lobes. The Occiptal Lobe interpreted vision, while the Parietal Lobe governed information processing. Additionally, while the force of the impact didn't hit his head directly, he still hit his head at a fairly large strength stat. His tailbone had been hit first, which would either fracture or break, along with his back, which would also be hit at a pretty good amount of force. However, even if the impact was only a half of what it was before, it still was extremely hard. His vision would be impaired, and he wouldn't be able to interpret information quite as well due to his concussion.
The pain from the Sai thrusting his arm back, along with his collarbone being moved as a result of that as well, plus everything else would equal to Hokori being in a really, really bad physical state. It was a wonder he could stand at all. Though that might have been the Rikujukoro holding him up. However, despite all of that, he would be able to use Bankai. All Bankai required were that the activation words be spoken. That was easy enough, something Hokori could do in this state. However, completely avoiding the Raikohou that followed the Rikujukoro would be next to impossible. It had been fired the moment before Hokori had declared 'Bankai' He'd be able to avoid the full brunt of the spell, but he'd still be hit. The explosion was too massive and too close to be avoided. It hit the ground a good fifteen feet from Hokori, the massive spell detonating. Taien hadn't been aiming directly at Hokori; he didn't need to. The massive explosive blast from the spell would easily reach him before he could flee. Spiritual shards of electrified earth flew out and would pierce Hokori, who wouldn't be able to block or anything because he was focusing on retreating. It was impossible to avoid it because of that action. They would pierce into his legs, stomach, arms, and torso because of how close they were.
The Shunpo would work, but Hokori wouldn't be in any fit condition to stay standing by this point. The last spell would be the end of the fight. The ink wave that Hokori sent out was completely defeated, it didn't even slow the roaring wave of lightning, air, and water down at all. It was akin to trying to stop an avalanch with a gentle breeze of wind; it just didn't care. It didn't slow down, it just barreled through Hokori's defenses like some sort of angry sky god coming to punish whoever had evoked it's wrath. The wave was obliterated, the blade was disintigrated, and it was rushing straight at Hokori. He didn't cut it close enough. The wave was too fast, too powerful, and too relentless. At his current state of mind and body, along with all the pain he was suffering from, he wouldn't be able to do something as simple as Shunpo. Even when mastered, Shunpo required a little concentration, enough to direct the Reiatsu to one's feet. He didn't have that kind of time. The wave would wash over him, and it would be the end.
However, in the event that Hokori did somehow have the time to dodge and attack, Taien was prepared. Taien had a huge amount more spiritual fortitude than Hokori did, by virtue of how much he used Kidou. He could use huge amounts of Reiatsu in a short amount of time and not be troubled by the loss. This would apply to this battle as well. Taien had his arms back at his side; what he was going to do would require that. He cast two spells, mentally of course.
Sokkatsui, Houkou Karasu!
The Sokkatsui was cast first, and slammed into the wall of paper. If it detonated, it would blast and damage the papers, if not reduce them to dust entirely. The second spell was cast right after the Sokkatsui impacted, and created a huge amount of wind cycled around him. While the first spells effects would be doubtful, the second one would definitely get some results. The silent wind would destroy all incoming ink, and would punch a sizeable hole through the roof of the sphere, shredding and sucking in the papers. It was a strong technique, and it went on for fifteen seconds continuously. Taien was safe for fifteen seconds. The papers that made up his prison would be shredded to pieces by the spell as they tried to harm Taien. At the fifteen second mark, the winds suddenly gained a voice, and roared in defiance in the face of this Bankai. They exploded outwards, and would break the concentration of anyone who had 150 senses. Of which Hokori did.
Taien was getting exhausted and tired, but he still was in a better way physically than Hokori was. Taien would be able to outlast Hokori at this rate, despite the corrosion eating at his mind. He'd be able to endure the assault, and whatever Hokori did next. Taien stood there in defiance of a Captain, a meer Vice-Captain had caused this much damage to a Captain. It was something that wasn't supposed to happen.
