Almost as soon as Kyomei arrived to fight the Failure, he was attacked. A massive flood of red reiatsu was moving fast, and it was moving directly at him. The rain sizzled as it moved, and it possessed reiatsu strength far beyond Kyomei's natural strength. Failures can get this strong? I've never met one, but wow! The raw heat coming off of the flood was exceedingly powerful, it could be felt even from a large distance away. The Kuchiki had to act fast in order to protect himself. Mentally casting Tsutsumi and fusing it with the Wanashudan Kori, the Bakudo would protect him from the wave of reiatsu. It protected the user up to 2x their reiatsu strength if the incantation wasn't used, which put the defense just over the power of the attack. The heat, however, wouldn't be stopped by an ordinary Tsutsumi, and that was what the Kori was for.
This Tsutsumi was as cold as ice, which counteracted the heat of the flood quite effectively. Kyomei wasn't without above average warmth, but at least he was comfortable. Now... How was he to kill the thing? A single attack was enough to destabilize it, but how was he to do that when it could wipe away most of his attacks? Well, as the saying goes, fight fire with fire. Placing his hand against the edge of the bubble, Kyomei prepared to fire a Kidou outside of it. For a master of Kidou, and having mastered the technique he was about to use, it would be easy to maintain the Tsutsumi while firing a Kidou through it. He placed his hand to the wall of the bubble and fired a Sokkatsui. But this was no ordinary Sokkatsui. It had been enhanced with the first two Kuchiki Magic Hana, Sattou and Kei.
The Sokkatsui would double in speed every ten meters it travelled, and it was controllable by Kyomei's hand gestures. If the failure moved, then the Kidou Corps Commander would hopefully be able to follow him with ease from his safe position. Knowing of Failures only in story, the Kuchiki hoped that instead of trying to dodge, the creature would respond by trying to dwarf the sokkatsui with his own flood of reiatsu. If that happened, the secondary nature of Sattou would kick in and the entire flood would be neutralized. He didn't know how the Failure would respond, he could only hope and prepare for each eventuality.
Iro arrived to see multiple Shinigami laid unconscious on the ground and a Captain struggling to remain conscious. The Quincy that he had come to attack was seemingly strong, and fired an arrow at his head nearly instantaneously. It was a blindingly fast arrow, one that would pierce Iro's head with ease if he wasn't careful. Using Shunpo Karin, Iro drew his blade and deflected the arrow into the ground. They were equals in reiatsu strength and Iro was beyond most of the world in sword skill. In the World Wars he had deflected bullets. What were mere arrows to him? "Quincy... Vandenreich Soldier... Explain to me why you feel the need to grant these Shinigami mercy. Your kind isn't known for mercy. Tell me and I might grant you the same."
Remaining Reiatsu: 15050/18000 (-600 Tsutsumi, -100 Sokkatsui, -150 Kei, -? Sattou)
