To Catch a Potatoe Thief

Before Itou could split the fake Kyomei's skull he found himself blown through the air at such quick speeds, it was so sudden, Itou had been at least 60% positive he would split his skull with his katana but alas he was wrong, he still had more tricks up his sleeve. Itou was approaching this the wrong way, of course a kidou user would have more than one trick up their sleeve, kidou users were always a pain for Itou because the spells they cast were so unpredictable and most of the time he was unprepared for them. So as Itou went through the air he was only reminded about the many times kidou users have annoyed him with their fancy spells.

Itou saw his enemies finger being pointed at him and Itou's surprised expression turned into a scowl. Luckily he could still easily move his arms so when the byakurai was fired Itou swing his released katana and it collided with the byakurai, dispersing the weak kidou with ease so when he landed with a thud he found he was lucky to not have a shoulder in his arm at the fault of the byakurai because fighting with a gaping hole in your shoulder would be quite difficult, especially since his fighting style took both arms.

Itou then noticed the circles around the room turn into howling vortexes, almost as if they were black holes trying to consume Itou whole. "You shouldn't have done that... If you get sucked into one of those portals, Enkuroja may never let you leave his warp dimension. And he has it out for you all. Look at how he spares me from his wrath. Hado #1: Sho!" Had Itou been hit by the sho Itou as sure he'd be gone however Itou could dodge the sho because of a few reasons. Firstly Itou was faster than Kyomei by quite a bit, by more than 3x Kyomei's speed. And also to cast it at all of them Kyomei would need to do it individually which gave Itou enough warning and time to dodge.

Itou didn't even need to use shunpo, when Kyomei turned to use sho on Itou sprinted, moving out of range of the sho completely so he wouldn't be pushed in. Luckily they only had one threat to deal with, for now.

[Iwamichi Saeke]

Falling was not pleasant. This fall reminded her of their earlier passage through whatever it was called...some warped version of space or just Hell. Either or, she was growing sick of falling. The spirit had laughed at her in its pride; she would be the one to make -him- fall. He called her silly, a little girl. The rage beginning to well inside her and the madness of the whole situation was almost getting to her head. It probably wouldn't be too long before she lost her mind like that Aramis guy and started talking to herself. Or she would start laughing manically for no reason, like that stupid purple spirit. (It's name would no longer be used). Events happened one after the other in her brief expanse of falling. The shingami's attacks had failed, they had managed to dodge the counter, and one "composed" himself enough to launch another attack. Iwa stopped her fall with a sharp air ground and rolled away from the middle of the action. The impact left her body stinging, but that was really nothing.

Her eyebrow raised in curiosity after the shinigmai's next attack. The sword hit, causing the spirit's arm to disappear entirely. It was an interesting power. Was the arm actually gone? Or maybe she just couldn't see it. Either way, it seemed the spirit would not be able to use it any longer. Aramis was thrown back before the second strike reached the head - that was predictable. Because, although the spirit had lost an arm, it was not enough to defeat him. Only Iwa had the true secret to his defeat. She could taste it - everyone watching as she stands over the whimpering corpses. How did that phrase go?... Pride goes before a fall? How ironic. Well, now was Iwa's turn to shine. First, she had to deal with the Sho that was just fired at her. She could jump away from that. That was no problem. Iwa was still in the air, above everyone else, which gave her an advantage.

Slowly, the purple spirit began to suck them all into some kind of vortex. Kyomei's warning wasn't necessary. Anyone could figure out that they do -not- want to get sucked inside that thing. Sighing, she stretched her katana in front of her and gathered her reiatsu. The blade began to dissipate until nothing was left. In its place, she could feel the smooth ruffle of steel plates at her arms. It was her hope not to reveal her hand, but there was nothing she could do otherwise. It was time to lay the cards down on the table. It was her most basic bakkoto level, but it would do the trick. The shinigamis would not know the true extent of her powers by this one thing either. Now, it was time to act. She started to manipulate the earth; everything in the cave was made of earth. That was really convenient.

She used the earth to warp the holes around the surface of the cave. Well, maybe she could get away with warping just one. She would try to make that an escape route. She kept warping the hole until it was very long and more like a semi circle than a circle. It would be a great tunnel. Like the one they just went in. They were all being sucked into the strange warp hole: it was the only thing she could do at this time. It would work; it has to work. She waited patiently for the plan to unfold. This battle was over - she would not take any more. She started thinking, after this was over, would she have to make a run for it? If the shinigamis finally realized the nature of her power - that she was a rogue - what would they do? Well, that did not matter. After all, she would be the one to defeat the evil shade and save the three. They would have no choice but to let her go. She would nto stay long to chat, that is for sure.

[Kyomei Kuchiki]

Aramis and Itou simply dodged the small projectile, and Iwamichi's suddenly stopped fall also avoided the attack aimed at sending her into an empty void. There was a bit of frustration on the Shade's face, but he didn't seem too bothered by it. He went too small with his attack, so it failed. Next time would be different. Little did he know that events were starting that were out of his control. Metal plate gauntlets appeared on the Rogue's hands, and they went to work shaping the ground. "What... What are you doing? You worm, you won't get away with this!" Iwamichi had shaped one of the holes in the cavern, instantly causing the vortex trying to pull her in to stop. The black void broke, and a long tunnel with a light at the end appeared.

The Shade of Kyomei, eyes open wide, rushed at the girl. However he didn't get far. In his anger, Enkuroja indiscriminately started to pull with his powers, and the specter was no longer immune. He flew right past the hole in the center, and was sucked in without a moment's hesitation. There was a gurgle, then everything started to grow quiet. "Never thought it would come to this... Destroyed by the same power I proclaimed to have... If I can be defeated so easily... Maybe I truly am just a Shade. A memory. A falsehood. I'm not the real Kyomei Mitsukaru, I'm just a fake drowning in the wake of his own power backfiring..." "Ah, but you forget... Even a memory can last forever in the Void..." The walls began to crumble, and potatoes poured out of the cavern holes. Itou and Aramis had finished their mission to find out what happened to them all, and Iwamichi had survived this encounter with a powerful enemy, and overcome it.

Upon fleeing from the cavern, the Shinigami and Rogue would find that they were returned to where they had entered the underground realm. They would be free to go on their way to whatever homes they had, or stick around and make sure the natives had their food back. If they looked around, they would see fountains of starch pouring out of the ground with Scottish men fetching their kilts for a ceremonial dance around the source of food and wealth. Well, maybe not that extreme. But potatoes were squeezing up out of the tilled ground, causing the harvest to begin in full swing. A message to Aramis and Itou's soul communicators would reveal that the Soul Society also was experiencing a return of the foods. The famine was over.
