Hiroki was panting like a mad dog. There was nothing he could do. But at least there wasn't the sword anymore. He had a painful kick landed on his back, which sent him back a fair bit, making it impossible for the head-butt to perform against his current situation. Hiroki would merely have to wait. Expend the least amount of energy as possible. That would be the key. But man, he was in pain. He had taken a lot of injuries. Lots of cuts to him all over his body. Blood was dripping out in the most shallow of wounded. The one below his ribs, that would be the worst, no doubt. However, the bleeding had lessened slightly, somewhat.
He saw something is Aramis' eyes. Something hideous, but man it would be fun to fight... If it was at full strength. It was... Eh, who cares what he saw in his eyes. What he was at, wasn't full strength. He was on his last legs. No matter what kind of pain he would have to go through, he would last. No matter how much blood was drawn, he'd fight until there was nearly none left in his body. So all he could do for now, was wait. He couldn't use his left arm, since he was holding it. His right arm must of been stunned by the shockwave. One of his legs was some-what damaged, though it seemed to be getting better. And the other leg was completely fine. What did he have? Nearly unusable leg, deep wound below the ribs, and shallow cuts all over his body. A good time all 'round. Genius Stamina Posts: 5/6 Genius Recovery Posts: 1/2 Remaining Reiatsu: 150

He wasn't continuing on? Then this was his chance. His opponent was more exhausted than Aramis had given him credit for, and he had to exploit this chance. He was stalling, to try and catch his breath. It wasn't something Aramis was going to let him do. Aramis lunged for Hiroki-- it seemed that his leg had moderately recovered from the blow that had been landed on it earlier. He could use it to most of its potential anyways. He used this to close the gap immediately, and used his fencing technique to actually send his fist towards Hiroki's throat!
By planting his whole body behind that punch, Aramis maximized the punch's destructive force. But there was more. Once again Aramis was playing with Hiroki's mind. Was he feinting again, like last time? Trying to draw his defense high, so he could hit low? In this case, it was no, but it wouldn't stop his opponent from considering the idea. But even that wasn't the only motive for this punch. It pushed Aramis's leg forwards, allowing him to disguise his next attack. Bringing his leg up, as if to regain a more defensive posture, instead, Aramis overstepped his leg and went for another stomping kick at Hiroki's good leg, following his punch.
Aramis finally concluded his sequence of blows with a wild haymaker aimed at the wound in his foe's torso, that he had caused earlier. Hiroki probably couldn't afford to ignore anything more than the stomp. If all three blows landed, he'd be hacking for air, due to the throat punch, have an injured ankle on his good leg, and while the final punch wasn't necessarily aimed at a critical point it would hurt a LOT to get hit in such a deep wound.

Hiroki was in a world of pain, to say the least. However, he had persevered. Only the punch to the throat has been nullified, due to Hiroki shielding his throat with his arm, cushioning the blow. That was his only saving grace. Even then, it had bumped off into the air, and it had still hurt. Everywhere else... Hurt like hell, to say the least. All the other blows had hit. He was starting to feel better, yet worse at the same time. His panting was getting lighter. His sweat wasn't to noticeable now. He was now able to fight at his fullest.
The only reason his panting was remaining, was because of the pain. He was a big guy; he still had lots of blood and pain endurance. He still was standing. He could still go on. He could still fight! His reaction timing could only be slowed by pain. He'd attack out of pain, and skill. Immense concentration would be needed; something Hiroki lacked constantly.
Nevertheless, he was now prepared to deal with Aramis now. He got into a defensive position, clenching his teeth in pain from his feet. He'd hope the pain would stop soon, and not because he'd been KO'd. The next move could, and most likely would be crucial for the next rounds of the fight. Aramis saw this visible change, and immediately backed away, and began to circle around to the side. His fatigue seemed to be dissipating. Man, as quickly as he fatigued, he certain recovered fast! Aramis couldn't take him in a fist fight at all. He needed a new plan of attack. If only he had his sword. His sword..... Several things flashed through Aramis's mind at that moment. His analytical brain was getting right to work! The first thing to consider was that his adversary had two injured legs. While he was clearly able to stand stably on them, and perhaps even move to perhaps 70% of his potential with them, his mobility was still impeded. Aramis's own leg had most recovered, and he was definitely faster than Hiroki.
Second. Hiroki, after disarming Aramis had tossed his sword off with his own. Third. Aramis's circling was bringing him between Hiroki and the swords... his plan of action became clear. He'd created enough distance between himself and Hiroki to give himself a head start, and Aramis was faster than the eleventh squad shinigami anyways. In a sudden burst of speed, Aramis shot backwards in full retreat, going for his sword. Unless Hiroki could use another shockwave attack in his condition, it would be virtually impossible to stop Aramis from reaching his zanpakuto.
Snatching the blade up in one hand, he whirled back to face Hiroki, back in his fencing stance, standing above Hiroki's own sword. His swordsmanship against Hiroki's hand to hand combat. Aramis excelled in using only a single hand for his swordplay, so his injured left arm, which hung at his side, wasn't an impeding factor for him at this time. His eyes narrowed, as he took short breaths. It seemed Aramis was getting a little tired as well, though certainly not anywhere near the fatigue that Hiroki had been feeling. His gut ached from the knee, and his left arm was totally numb. But, he was still able to fight!

Hiroki was merely moving to meet Aramis head on, trying to make Aramis not get to his zanpakutou. He was too slow to get started, so Aramis did reach his zanpakutou. Hiroki jumped back a bit, and grabbed his own nodachi, his teeth clenched in pain. He got into a offensive position with his zanpakuou; easily able to attack or defend. With his other hand, he created a shield with his reiatsu, which was as big as he was. It was see through, and it didn't look like it truly cost him any reiatsu. It was a disgrace of a technique, though it would more than likely block all of Aramis' attacks, due to superior reiatsu strength.
He started to walk towards Aramis, sword and shield ready to combat him. He was more cautious this time around. He was keeping a firm eye on Aramis. After every attack, he would raise his shield back up, ready to defend against him. Wherever Aramis would go, he would keep on looking at him. The shield has a reiatsu strength that was of his own, and his own was superior to Aramis' by a long shot. He wasn't going to pierce that shield for long time. Or at least during this match.
He then tried something that could be a rather big pain to Aramis. He let his shield down, and make it appear as if it was dying out. If Aramis tried to take advantage of that, then he would fall into the trap. He would then bring the shield back up, cleaving the zanpakutou in two when it crossed the shield. He attempted to look surprised at this, to try to sucker him in. Due to the distance between them in reiatsu strength, this would very likely happen, though only if Aramis fell for it. Then Aramis' wouldn't be able to fence without the tip of his sword at least, and have his sword range decreased. Genius Stamina Posts: 1/6 Remaining Reiatsu: 150

Crafting a shield out of reiatsu? That was a surprise, and Aramis quickly assessed that a frontal assault wouldn't work anymore. His fencing style, primarily based on thrusting techniques, and short cuts with the sword tip, wouldn't work against a shield. He'd be forced to rely on counterattacks. It was likely, however, that Hiroki was aware of this as well however, and would not be baited out of his hiding place easily. Aramis could see that even the deep wound inflicted on Hiroki earlier wasn't bleeding nearly as much anymore. That was problematic. With that said, that shield was huge, and would get in the way of his attacks.
And as soon as it was created, it began to die. Hiroki even put on an expression of surprise. Aramis darted towards him, blade at the ready. He made a motion to thrust at Hiroki's face, and then whipped the blade back in a feint, to see his foe's course of action. Immediately following his feint, he darted his blade downwards at Hiroki's right foot, but again, retracted the blow in a second feint. Faking his adversary out, to look at his reactions. How would Hiroki react to these attacks. Though Aramis was going through the motions, his blade wasn't quite crossed the threshold of the shield, meaning he wouldn't even get to use the defensive weapon to intercept or trap the Nakabakki's sword.
Aramis was also considering the state of stamina in this battle. Assuming a battle of constants, he was far better off than Hiroki. The pain in his gut was starting to die down now, as Hiroki's knee hadn't caused any notable internal damage. So too, likely, was Aramis's blows to Hiroki's kidneys and uninjured leg. However, Hiroki still had several cuts including his deep torso wound, while Aramis had yet to receive one from him. These would affect his long term performance considerably, and Aramis had already witnessed his stamina problems. Hiroki would tire again, and would begin to get sloppy as they continued. Aramis still had plenty of steam, as they had only been duelling for a short amount of time. He could wait things out. Hiroki couldn't, as he'd only keep on bleeding. As much as his body might try to naturally stem the bleeding, without bandaging, he would keep on bleeding from that deep thrust wound that Aramis had given him.

OOC: Sorry for the long wait. (>w>)
His strategy failed, to put it simply. His opponent used his feints twice in a row, attempting to gauge a reaction from him. The first feint caused the shield to rise back up immediately, without fail. This would show that the plan was a ruse, which would have most likely been deducted by the Nakabakki already, since he was never a good actor in the first place. He left his shield up, though due to neither of the feints coming close to his shield, it would be a waste of time to try it again. He hid behind his shield, knowing that it’s sheer size would be a saving grace for him. From what he had felt, Aramis only uses thrusts and short cuts, meaning that if the tip was cut off, it would also be another saving grace. Though that would be for later. His first plan would be to disarm Aramis. He lacked the same skills as Hiroki did in fighting bare-fisted. The enactment would have to be quick, and decisive. How to do it though?
There multiple ways he could do it. Firstly, would be to use his shield to push his sword away, then lay into him with the shield, following up with a quick disarm using his hakuda skills. Another would be to grab his sword arm again, or his sword, then disarm him, also followed up by several attacks, aiming for key places, such as pressure points. A final one, would be to use his sword, then use his shield to catch the sword, by spawning the shield on the tip of his sword, then being able to use his superior strength and leverage to fling both swords away from each other, hopefully out of reach for either of them. Any of these plans could be chosen, and enacted out at the last second, as well as quickly mixed and matched up. He then walked, then lunged forward at Aramis, using his only good leg. Looking at numerous angles, it would of merely looked like a massive hop, coming from a massive 6”10 person, also weighing 220lbs. As he leapt, he had all the options open to him. The only question was, how would Aramis react, and how would Hiroki be able to respond?
Post by Aramis Tezuka on Dec 14, 2012 5:55:35 GMT -5
Aramis noted his opponent lifting his shield up to defend himself from the feinted blow. Quick reaction speed. Aramis darted back out of range, but his adversary approached him and then lunged at him. Aramis's eyes showed no emotional response, but mentally he saw his chance at victory. Hiroki had failed to throw a blow yet, so Aramis would have to be cautious. Blade raised to parry any impending blow, Aramis moved to sidestep. This would be a dangerous maneuver to enact, as he was walking towards Hiroki's sword arm. This was dangerous, but his only option. Had he moved to the other side, the shield would have obscured Aramis's ability to strike accurately. The sidestep would at least prevent a vertical blow from landing, and with his blade up, Aramis would be able to deflect a horizontal swing at least. His target was clear. Hiroki's mobility. This was his opening.
Hiroki's lunge, coupled with Aramis's sidestep would place Hiroki past Aramis, whether he swung his blade in a delayed blow or not. Aramis was, in other words, slightly behind Hiroki and off to the side. Aramis pivoted as he moved, so that he could strike his target faster than Hiroki would be able to turn to meet him, and struck immediately, thrusting the tip of his katana down towards the back of Hiroki's good leg, sharp edge pointed upwards. This would result in the natural curve of the katana to pierce downwards into the leg, causing further and more severe damage to the tendons and muscles. Aramis was cutting Hiroki down methodically, and precisely, from the ground up.
"Without its roots, the tree cannot withstand the storm." He stated, continuing his tree metaphor from earlier. Refusing to simply back away, Aramis did step back to give himself space, but lashed out with a final upwards cut, striking with the tip of his blade yet again. His target was to slice up Hiroki's side, and draw another shallow wound, however, Aramis calculated there was a slim chance of it connecting. After realizing how Aramis's footwork would place him in such an ideal striking position, he expected Hiroki would attempt to turn to face him. This would not impede his leg blow, though it may have altered the point of contact. The turn, would, however, determine the location and severity of Aramis's second cut. Regardless of that, however, Aramis had already retreated from the range of a counterswing. Hiroki would have to chase Aramis the extra step now if he wanted to attempt a counterattack. As methodically as before, Aramis's sword had returned to his guard, tip pointed upwards towards Hiroki's neck, yet again-- well armed to deflect a counterattack. Hiroki would have to be very cautious indeed in his next strike.

Hiroki could see Aramis moving to the side of his sword-arm. Oh, yes he could. Most of his plans were still able to work, aside from one. He kept his options open. Using his mind, he went for an option, and he stayed with it. Using his reiatsu, he moved, or formed his shield, onto his sword. It was nigh-instant, and was prepared before the jump. When it formed, he realized that it was too late to actually injure him, or smack him up-side the head. However, there was something he could work with. Aramis had side-stepped, and going at his maximum speed. Hiroki was faster.
It would be impossible for Aramis to not collide with the shield- it was too big, and both of them were going too fast. However, while Aramis did have his sword up to protect him, it would most likely smack into him rather hard, causing some amounts of damage, and possibly dazing himself for a second, or even knocking himself over if he didn’t have a good enough balance. It was this second that would be Hiroki’s window of opportunity. With Aramis absorbing most of the momentum, effectively causing him to brake, he would be able to turn around rather quickly, and attack.
He was faster, if only just. Using this speed, he pushed himself off of the ground. However, there were two different methods, each corresponding to what had happened. If Aramis had only been dazed, which would have been for a few or so seconds, Hiroki would use the tiny gap, to stab him in the chest or torso region. He would also be able to predict which way he would be going, using his powers of Battle Analysis, able to give himself another attack window, while still keeping up a rather large defence. Something of which would be most valuable.
If he full on was knocked over, the first thing he would do would be to stand on his weapon, and cut off his wrist and his knee. It would be impossible to remove the weapon with Aramis’ strength and Hiroki’s weight. Both of which would cause his ability to fight reduce dramatically, due to his fighting style. Continuing like that would be fruitless, and defeat may as well be called in that situation. The latter option (knocked over), is the most likely option, due to the fact that Hiroki is significantly heavier, he is also faster and had more momentum compared to Aramis. Also being in mid-air, with gravity and angles on his side, this would make defeat almost a reality for Aramis. The only question is; Is Aramis skilled enough to only be dazed?
Remaining Reiatsu: 150
OOC: Due to the Change-It-Up Event, Hiroki is no longer a genius, but a Lazy Genius. Therefore, he isn’t affected by the massive stamina limits of the Genius Type any more. He will still have the same amount of remaining reiatsu, however. Also, sorry for the delay.

There was one slight flaw in Hiroki's plan. He was quicker than Aramis now, by some miracle, true, but he didn't consider the physics behind an attack like the one he was attempting. True, he seemed to be able to completely recreate his shield on his sword, and this was surprising to Aramis. It was also true that the shield was very large. But this would only ensure the blow connected with the sword. Hiroki was in mid-hop trying to hit someone not in front of him, but beside him. Trying such an awkward strike in midair would have no real power behind it, and in fact, would probably off-balance him on the landing. Swinging a sword to hit someone at your side while in mid-air. It would basically force his body to turn against its natural momentum. This was going to weaken the shield bash, and off-balance Hiroki on landing.
Hiroki's reiatsu shield cracked against Aramis's sword blade, forcing it up and away from Aramis. However, Aramis did not slip back, he retaliated. As the shield struck against his blade, Aramis unleashed a quick forward thrust of his arm, not his sword tip, pushing off against the shield in a sudden burst of strength. Hiroki's strength was not much greater than Aramis's at all, and, due to being in midair, and his momentum moving AWAY from Aramis, his attempted shield bash would have quite the opposite effect of what was intended. Hiroki was trying to use an awkward shield bash, while flying past his opponent from his hopping lunge. And Aramis's fencing footwork ensured he was quite well grounded, even when sidestepping the initial lunge. The result was a simple matter of physics. Aramis had the ground to push off against into Hiroki. Hiroki had nothing to push back into Aramis. The miniscule difference in musculature would mean nothing. It was not Aramis that would fall back from this clash, but Hiroki.
Pushed back by Aramis's aggressive push, it was likely Hiroki would land from his lunge awkwardly, and would have to fight hard just to retain his balance and avoid falling over. Aramis was shorter than Hiroki and this actually helped him. His lower center of gravity gave him a powerful push into his opponent. While Hiroki would be stumbling for footing, however, Aramis was already moving to his attack. Like a silver bolt of lightning, his katana blade slashed down at an angle, slicing below the shield. With Hiroki stumbling for footing to not fall over, it would be nearly impossible to block this blow. And unlike Aramis's previous light cuts, this would be a very deep wound, aimed at Hiroki's uninjured leg.
Aramis wasn't stopping there though. His blade darted upwards, aiming towards the other side of Hiroki's abdomen for a second deep thrust. Aramis was using his shorter height than Hiroki to thrust under and BEHIND his shield, instantly from his slash. Once again, this would be a very deep wound. Not fatal, no-- it would miss Hiroki's vital organs, but it would cause substantial bleeding.
Two injured legs, and two serious puncture wounds. If Aramis succeeded in this combination attack, Hiroki would be very hard pressed to continue battling, despite his vigor.

OOC: Throwing the fight, since I keep on making infrequent posts, and I’ve lost interest in this fight.
Hiroki was beat. He had been stabbed, mutilated, and had gained a nice collection of scars, as well as a severed tendon. His final, desperate plan was ruined, due a flaw in his calculations. He was sent tumbling to the rolling in pain, with his blood making a nice trail of where he had been. It was not a fun experience, to be sure, or at all. He was finished, and he did not wish to continue, currently. He had screwed it up from the beginning by not going all out. Now, he was paying the price. It was time to announce the end-game.
He easily saw what was coming. Aramis was going in for the metaphorical kill. Hiroki shot off a ghost of a smile, as he dropped his sword after coming to a resounding thud as he slammed into the wall, coughing up a bit of blood. It made a resounding ringing sound, as steel met stone. He made no movement to pick it up, nor any attempt to try to stop Aramis. He even put his hand and bloodied hand up in a surrender position. However, he did have to swallow some pride to speak the following words; “Hold it- I give up.”
He didn’t know Aramis that well, but he was guessing, or more so hoping, that he would stop in his tracks, and not actually try to stab him, slit his throat or any sort of action that revolved around him being mutilated anymore. However, you would never know. Aramis didn’t seem like one of those who showed off any emotions or caring… Or anything really. He steeled himself incase of an attack, or anything of the sort. After such an ordeal, he picked himself up from the slumped position he was currently in, and walked himself over to the Squad 4 barracks… In shame.
While he in barracks, the ordeal was painful. He knew he had taken some anesthetics and the like, but it still hurt… Or something. He could feel everything, or nothing! The stitches, and the healing kidou, all ground against his very core… He silently made a vow to never come back to this forsaken place of torture and pain… At least until next week. He was told he was being used in a Placebo Effect experiment… And he was the odd-one out. He went against the grain in that test… Or maybe he had heard something else. Whatever- it didn’t matter.
