Kaen was on his feet, grinning. He was arrogant to the end. "Have you looked at your forehead? it is sort of bruised, looks like you decided to beat it against some concrete." He refused to grimace from the kick he recieved to the ribs. It bruised maybe three of them, he judged the distance at maybe five feet between them.
The next thing he knew the san-seki was in front of him, his hand on his blade he brought up his short sword. It was the faster of the two and he always fought with it in a perdictable way for using a extremely short blade, he always used speed and blocked guard to guard in a sword fight. Instinct took over he whipped his blade up to block and descovered that he wasn't the only one with a short sword.
He gritted his teeth and did something most people didn't, he pressed forward and as san-seki reached behind his back again Akeru head butted him. He wouldn't have been expecting something like that, something so random. He pushed with his head gritting their skin together, he felt blood running down his head down his nose. It was his, he couldn't tell if he broke the other man's skin.
He jumped back and scowled that kind of hurt, but well he saw what the man was going for. His sheath, was ripped from his back and was in his hand. So he intends to fight me with dual bladed as well, This is somthing else. I don't normally fight like this... he took his stance and waited, this was what it was all about.

(ooc: Don't forget your remaining reiatsu!)
Kaen smirked at the remark about his forehead. "What? A bruised forehead? That's nothing~" He commented. You'll have to do a bit more than that if you want to put me down." He remarked as he lunged to his attack. His foe managed to parry his stroke aside. What he did next surprised Kaen though. Instead of pulling away, he pushed forwards! That was very surprising! But was it to try and trick Kaen? Huh? Pulling back his head? That meant....
Akeru's headbutt would meet something that didn't feel like Kaen's face-- that was for sure. His headbutt would have almost surely worked against almost any other foe. Unfortunately for him, Kaen was a scrapper. Like Akeru, Kaen had used the headbutt and quite liked it as a method of an unexpected attack. However, Akeru was doing it wrong! Yikes! The fact that the blood would have run down his nose, meant he was trying to headbutt with his forehead. Unfortunately, that headbutt had a definitive counter. The counter was simple. Kaen lowered his head and pushed it out, forwards-- the result would be Akeru smashing his face into the top of Kaen's head! Ow! That would probably disorient Akeru considerably, and leave him open to Kaen's next blow.
Kaen let Akeru step back, but as he pulled out his sheath, his target hadn't changed. Honestly, Akeru had been safer where he'd been before. Kaen was using a katana sheath, which meant it had more trouble hitting someone close to him than someone a full step away from him. His target was still Akeru's wrist. However, the added space, let him increase the combination a bit. Instead of settling for the one blow, Kaen stepped in with his Kodachi-- and instead of slashing with it, threw a punch with the arm holding the Kodachi at Akeru's face! The sheath then whipped down, intending to smash Akeru's leg out from under him and off-balance the other third seat. If that happened he'd be wide open to further attacks! Uh oh....

He took a head butt and got a migraine, so not really unexpected. The thing with akeru that screwed with him was the continuous throbbing and he knew that he wasn't in the best form to try to block something with a pounding head he used a shunpo without knowing what the man was going to do, all he was trying to do for the moment was to get some distance for the blood to be wiped from his eyes. He landed by the tree behind the san-seki and was busy wiping the blood from his forehead, sure he was leaving himself open to another attack but the blood was disorientating in it's own way.
He straightened up and squinted at kaen, he stood straight and proud with a mark on his forhead. a kodachi blade with a katana sheath, he was an odd one. if anything all this said was that kaen was a physical brawler first and foremost, Akeru sighed, he was not one for physical stamina so he knew he couldn't win this with pure sword fighting. "Would you like to see something new, since you only met me today i know you have no memory of this or any knowledge." He looked on at the san-seki, his reiastu was starting to flow pouring out of him.
if this man was a curious type, he'd get all he wanted and more, knowing what was coming next. he took a deep breath, and voice trickled into his mind. "You have something to show him indeed, young angel. i'm fairly sure he'll be impressed." Thanks..[/i].[/color] he thought to himself, this would be a test of the oldest kind, magic vs might.

Kaen grinned as Akeru attempted to dodge back with Shunpo. "Not good enough!" Kaen exclaimed as he unleashed a deadly blow against Akeru. Well. Not deadly persay. That would be an awful thing to do in a spar. Still it'd be a debilitating wound for the battle itself. Kaen utilized his Senka technique, using Shunpo and striking with his blade in a single blow. Normally Senka was used to completely cut off someone from their reiatsu by hitting specific points on their body, but Kaen adjusted it, so that it would slash through Akeru's shoulder and the arm holding the broadsword in a single swing, not severing anything but certainly making use of the arm extremely difficult. Having landed his Senka behind Akeru, Kaen immediately shot off a back kick aimed at the small of Akeru's back to send him flying.
"Would I like to see something new?" Kaen asked with a grin. "Sure! Show me what you've got!" He taunted, flipping his kodachi into a reverse grip. "And let me do the same, huh?" Kaen placed the flat of his blade against the outside of his arm and declared his release phrase. "Burn, Hachiryuu!" Kaen roared.
Kaen's reiatsu surged and his blade was engulfed in a fiery orange reiatsu. It quickly condensed around his arm until it had become a rather impressive arm brace. His Kodachi was nowhere to be seen now, though he was still holding the sheath. The arm brace was silver in color, with a dancing black flame pattern along its length. A large blue gem was inset into the base, closest to the elbow. The brace covered Kaen's entire forearm, protecting it from harm. There didn't appear to be any seams or the like, so it could be assumed that it couldn't be removed. Kaen grinned. "Well. Now that you've seen my release, let's see yours, hmm, Akeru-san?"

Akeru was blind because of the blood but that didn't mean that he couldn't sense this man, or hear him shouting like a baboon, "Not good enough!" normally they shout something like that and go for something humiliating like a blow from the back. he whipped around and used a basic arc up ward and bingo he heard the clang of blade against blade. though he didn't expect the kick to his abdomen. He flew back rolling in a reverse summer salt. He used the momentum to roll up onto his feet, he couldn't breathe. This wasn't something he wanted to repeat.
Once he was able to feel oxygen again he looked up, the san seki was smiling. "Burn, Hachiru!" suddenly he was wearing a armbrace with flames, he was still holding the sheath but his blade was gone. So it's fire, but how does he use the flames. Akeru straightened his back and stood tall and pointed his short sword straight at kaen's face, "This is what i can show you..." He closed his eye and his reiastu started to flow out, parting in front of him a blinding white. "Bless those to hear your words, feel the power of the divine and let it flow through your voice for us all to hear. You, who are that which guides us, praise Raziel'stensei!"
His sword, hilt and all turned to a silver pool of metal which snaked his way back up his arm and attached to his face molding and turning into a mask covering from his nose down to his voice box, the holes where his mouth adam's apple and nose were, was covered in a speaker like material. his hand was still pointing at the other san-seki. "This is what i have to offer, so bring it on."

Kaen's kick sent Akeru flying, but the man showed surprising agility, somersaulting to catch his balance. And now Akeru too was releasing. Kaen grinned. "Don't disappoint me Akeru-san~" He teased lightly. His zanpakuto was certainly an interesting one. Normally he'd be unarmed, just as Kaen was, though he still had that broadsword. So that meant that this zanpakuto would augment his kido abilities. He'd proven to be no match for Kaen in hand to hand fighting, so it was unlikely it augmented that. It was definately kido. Well. That was fine by Kaen!
Kaen grinned and dashed forwards as Akeru activated his ability. He watched Akeru's hands and eyes. His mouth was hidden so he couldn't tell if he was using a kido that way. Well. I'll just have to deal with it.[/i] Kaen thought as he went on the attack. He suddenly launched a hand up and a gout of flames erupted from his hand to blast Akeru. Aside from causing serious burns and potentially setting Akeru's clothing on fire they served a second purpose. They'd blind Akeru for a split second.
And with his speed, a split second was all Kaen needed. Immediately after he launched his flame burst at Akeru, he kicked off on an angle, moving to Akeru's left, and launched a second burst of flame at him from the side. Kaen immediately followed this by kicking off the ground to jump over Akeru's head and shoot a final blast from above. Three flame jets coming at Akeru from three different angles, and Kaen was timing them so that each attack would conceal the next one.

As the man dashed forward, he was truely fast and powerful, Is he able to sense me though? I wonder. "Bakudo 26. Kyakko!" As his gout of flames erupted to surge over akeru his form vanished. This was not the only advantage of kyakko either, his spiritual pressure was compressed to hide his pressence from the other shinigami.
Using a shunpo he was able to escape the the spot the flames cascaded over where he was standing. he was about 5 yards to the left of where he was a moment ago, using another shunpo he surged his blade forward and holding it firmly held the tip underneath Kaen's chin. He willed the kyakko to end and he was visible infront of the san seki with a blade to his throat.
Holding on to his hilt as a secondary percaution his index finger at the san-seki's gut. "I may not be fast or strong physically, but my power lies in what you see in front of you." Remiaining Reiastu: 1395 (-200 for shikai -100 for shunpo -25 for kidou)
Kyakko, huh? That was one of Brock's favorites! Kaen knew it well. He also knew it was a fuckin' pain in the ass to deal with. Fortunately, he had an idea of how to deal with it as well! From his airborne position, Kaen shot several bursts of flame to the ground, creating a ring of fire, in which he landed in. Invisible or not, Akeru wouldn't be able to attack without disrupting the fire. As he Shunpo'd, Kaen detected the attack by a sudden flutter of the flame ring. He saw the flash of steel and saw Akeru's blade pointed at his throat.
"Not bad, Akeru-san." Kaen complimented the other third seat. "Draw?" He proposed, as Akeru would likely be feeling a fairly intense heat. Should Akeru care to glance down, he'd see a Katar-like blade had extended out of Kaen's armbrace, like a wrist-blade and was pointed at Akeru's heart, much like the other third seat's own blade was pointed at his throat. Despite this, Kaen was grinning a bit. This was/had been fun!
Post by Brother Jeremiah on Sept 4, 2011 19:00:27 GMT -5
Akeru withdrew his blade from kaen's throat, that was an infiriating little trick. his armbrace was able to gout flames with his thoughts, it could be difficult to corner him while his armbrace was working. He steped back and held his blade aloft, "A draw for the round." The smile was creepying into his voice even though half his face was covered by his shikai. "You know this is a lot of fun now lets see you deal with multiples..."
He narrowed his eyes and focused on the san-seki. he sheathed his sword and murmured "Bakudo 8. Seki" the round shield covered his right hand and using a shunpo surged forward to punch him in the chest with both his fist the kidou as a powerboost. If it connected, it would certainly force his chest to fly backwards and allow for the kidou's side effect to take over opening for his next attacks.
then following up with a softer voice he used 2 more voices and had two more round polished replused shields one covering his right foot and the palm of his left hand up and thrusted it and palm thrusted kaen's arm brace. and wound cause his left side to thrust out, leaving his right ribs open and with his right leg brougt his leg up and snapped his foot just as he learned in the human world.
In the moment he brought his leg up to kick Kaen, he shouted "hado 1 sho!" his left ribs connecting with the kidou and sending him flying harder into the kick. If it connected it would left at least bruising and some temporary paralysis from the bakudo's side effects. I don't need to be afraid, just need to stay on the offensive. he breathed out deeply, this was getting interesting.

Kaen grinned as Akeru stepped back. "Sure~ Sounds like fun!" As Akeru performed Seki, Kaen's blade began warping as well. As Akeru used his Shunpo to attack Kaen, he'd find his attack stopped. Normally Seki blew back its target, but in this case it wouldn't work, as Seki had instead, collided with a large roundshield that Kaen had created with his flames instead. The shield was highly reminiscent of a Viking shield, roughly 36 inches in diameter with a center boss, the primary difference being how it was held. Kaen grinned as he attempted to counter the attack, driving the shield into Akeru to throw him off balance. Even though it was forged fire... well... it was forged fire. Anyone except Kaen who made contact with the shield would suffer light burns. This movement would also stuff Akeru's second two attacks as both his second blow and his kick would be blocked by the shield's large diameter.
However, Kaen's shield push would leave him open to the Sho and he was blasted backwards by it. "Oof.... niiice." Kaen remarked, as he hit the ground and rolled backwards onto his feet. Notably, as he'd been knocked backwards, his shield had vanished and was being reshaped. "Let's see how ya like this though!" Kaen remarked, slashing his arm forwards. A long, thinner flame lashed out with incredible speed at Akeru's face. Kaen had changed his flame into a whip!
The lash at his face, however, was a distraction, as Kaen stepped forwards, and whipped his flame downwards at Akeru's right leg, in an attempt to wrap the whip around it. He wanted to make use of his greater strength to rip Akeru off balance, and knock him to the ground. Maybe if that happened, then Kaen would be able to take the upper hand or put a definitive finish to their duel!

All of his attacks were deflected but the sho and what was worse was that he was now feeling the burns on his hands the Seki had protected the knuckles so he was still have to grasp but the back of his hand was burned and so was the bottom and the section where his thumb met his forefinger. He was on overdrive with instinct, the third seat slid back and was already reading his next attack but what kaen did next gave him his next target. Let's see if the flames can move if their not connected to that blasted gauntlet.
With his injured his hand he pointed his index finger at Kaen's gauntlet just where the flames began to channel off of it, "Hado 4. Byakurai!" the lightning shot through the air faster then the flames and blasted them free of the gauntlets connection. As he suspected, the flames flickered and went out. with his good hand he decided to take him to a knee, his right hand was focused on the back of his left knee. "Hado 1. Sho!" the force would come out of no where like some one decided to kick him in the back of the knee driving his knee into the ground, he used a shunpo and as he did so he unsheathed his sword.
He arced it down with great speed to connect in the crease where Kaens elbow connected his forearm with the gauntlet and the upper bicept. He was going to make his real simple, He was going to just cut off his arm and take his shikai away from him. "Haaaaa!" he knew Kaen was going to counter and he was waiting. Come on, i haven't test these limits in ages...

Interesting. Akeru cut through Kaen's flaming whip with his hado spell. Doesn't matter one bit. Kaen noted Akeru's hand moving to target his leg and suddenly vanished, launching into Senka to avoid the attack and counterattack. The advantage of having a mastery of Senka is that while most opponent's had to either set up their attack before using their stepping technique or had to use the stepping technique and then attack coming out of it, Kaen could launch his attacks during the attack!
Which is exactly what he was doing here as he intended to slam Akeru in the chest with a vicious palmstrike just as he would finish his hado spell, ensuring he was just offline of Akeru's hand, so that the kido would miss. Propelled by Shunpo, his physical strength would likely send Akeru flying, and Kaen planned to follow that right up! "Chire." Kaen declared launching a series of roughly half a dozen crimson fireballs after Akeru, that would explode on contact!

Akeru was thrust back by the palm strike that came out of the blur that was kaen, this was unexpected but hell he was starting to enjoy not being able to end this fight in one move but working towards tiring themselves out with rigorous combat. he summer salted 3 times before rolling onto his feet, the heat warming his skin before his eyes even had time to lay on the fire balls, he rolled to his left as they collided with the ground and exploded cancelling them all out with each other's explosions.
He jumped back and scanned his surroundings, the smoke from the flames was already fading. He blood was pumping in his ears and he for no reason had a stupid grin on his face. He raced up straight at his opponent looking to continue this fight. He was fighting with even more spirit then before, his target was still the bracer. "Bakudo 26, kyyako!" He vanished from sight and senses of the other 3rd seat. He was going to make this work.
He jumped into the air and flew down invisible on kaen's right side, his sword slicing downward and arcing into the fellow san-seki's flesh. he was going to cut off the forearm just above the bracer and let that be the end of it. Surely as soon as he began to cut into the man's flesh kaen would try to react but the fact he was invisible and gave the third seat no indication of which way the blade was on his arm if he moved the wrong way or jerked in a bad direction he would only speed the cutting process. He is finished

No sooner had Akeru moved to avoid Kaen's Chire attack, the shinigami thrust his hand forwards, shooting three crossbow bolts of flame at him, likely connecting just as Akeru would be utilizing Kyakko. Kyakko may have made you invisible, but it certainly wouldn't make you invulnerable. As such, since Akeru wasn't moving while preparing Kyakko, it was likely that he'd be forced to take at least one of the crossbow bolts, if not all of them. Kaen had targeted the center of mass-- his torso.
Nonetheless, after seeing Akeru vanish with kyakko, Kaen knew he had to move. After being foiled by Kaen's flame barrier the first time, Kaen expected Akeru to come in from above. And that was the problem. He couldn't get a sense of timing. But he knew one way he could! As Akeru jumped (unbeknownst to Kaen), squad 7's third seat used Shunpo, launching himself towards the lake, that was beside the clearing in which they were battling, landing in the muddy shores.
Kaen turned so that his back was to the lake. Akeru's attack at present would likely have failed, and Kaen's Shunpo would have caused him to vanish. It meant it'd take a moment or two for Akeru to notice where Kaen had gone. And Kaen was planning on setting up the finale. Cupping his hands together, Kaen placed them behind him, forming a fireball and shaping it, and intensifying it. This was his Daihou technique-- Grand fire. Kaen's shikai allowed him to shape flame into many wonderful forms, but shaping also intensified the flame. What Kaen was doing now was basically that concept taken to a ridiculous level.
Kaen's daihou normally continuously increased in size until he launched it. This time it was a bit different. Rather than continuously increasing its size, Kaen was continuously condensing it. Although this meant it would be smaller, its destructive capabilities would be much, MUCH greater. Even being grazed by this would be devastating. Of course, this was a sparring match and Kaen didn't want to kill, or seriously injure Akeru. That would be overkill. Still he planned to finish this one decisively. He remembered a manga he'd read in the human world, and grinned a little as the ball of flame glowed a shining white-- so intense it had become. It radiated heat, and anyone within around six feet of Kaen would begin to feel it, and could potentially burn someone just by getting within a foot or two of the flame at present. The only reason Kaen himself wasn't bursting into flames due to his proximity to it that it was his own reiatsu.
Keeping his usual grin on his face, Kaen began to utter a phrase in jest. "Ka.....me.... ha.... me...." Yeah, he was screwing around a little there. Not that he wasn't taking this seriously, but Kaen always liked to do a little verbal screwing around in his fights, so this was as good an opportunity as any!

Akeru looked around as the other san-seki disappeared; this was going to get on his last nerve if like every time he tried to cut off that bracer the man ran away. He looked around and saw the san-seki in the mud of the lake, obviously there to help him locate Akeru if he tried to get near him while kyyako was activated. He would just give away his position and that would just be a pointless endeavor, what was odd was the reiastu increase he saw that Kaen was charging a sphere of energy in his hands, no a sphere of flaming energy. He was charging a strong attack and when he listened he heard something that made him stop in his tracks.
The san-seki wasn’t serious… he was quoting a manga character’s famous attack. He looked on again and realized he was even in the character’s stance. This was too much and he lost his concentration on his Kyyako. As he reappeared his left eyebrow shot up, “You can’t be serious… You’re quoting a human manga at a time like this?!” This annoyed Akeru and he had no idea why, but he was about to teach this third seat that given enough time that even someone as weak as him could definitely bring incredible strength to bear upon his enemies.
His eyes began to glow and his reiastu started to flow freely around his body as he started to prepare his own final attack. He had known that he could do this but never dared to try for he feared at the moment he wasn’t strong enough to control the output of energy he could unleash with this attack. He began to rotate his hands in front of him as if trying to form and contain a sphere of energy and while keeping his eyes on his enemy began to chant on all 10 voices, “Sprinkled on the bones of the beast…. Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring.” He stopped and took a breath, his body shaking.
His hairs on his body were standing on end, and his hands were cradling the orb of energy, shaping it, containing it, yet still tendrils of lightning spilled out arcing and hitting the ground gouging out the earth in lines before they faded away and more tendrils took their place. His spell was only half finished and yet it had the destructive power something far more than most shinigami could produce. The key to this move was Baion, when he decided to cast a spell with Baion combining the same spells. He was basically allowing for him to fire spells with his reiastu strength times the number of voices he used when he kept them contained into one attack. Basically he was firing a Raikoho with a reiastu strength of 1880 instead of 10 of them with a reiastu strength of 188. Something he was sure his opponent couldn’t match flat out. In this head to head of energy he was going to be triumphant.
“Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle…” The spell finally completed, the lightning surged with double the ferocity it did a few moments ago. He was able to control it, but it was so strong he didn’t know how long it would last. He let out a deep exhale and raised his voice so the san-seki could hear him over his own roar of energy. “Are you sure you want to do this? Forfeit now and I won’t have to maim or kill you.” It was no idle threat either, he had no intention of killing Kaen, but he had no intention of losing either. He rotated his hands faster and managed to contain the forks of lightning for the time being but the energy was just growing more potent being held like it was. He waited for Kaen to fire and he would open fire himself, this would be a test of power but one he was sure he would win.
