As much as he wanted to perform these experiments in Los Noches, or even Karakura, Arcadus really wanted to have less spiritually available and energized areas to analyze the formation of hollows and how thier energy forms. Watching the hollow come through the gargaunta, Arcadus checked his intruments and did his own sensing to measure how the reiatsu in the area increased, shifted, and stablized. If he was going to make a weapon out of it, he wanted to be able to work with it.
He was working on seeing if hollow reiatsu could be worked into a liquid, so he could weaponize it against Quincy. For the moment, he was having some issues, but a few hollows had volunteered to be test subjects, and by that, they were going to be promised to be able to eat un molested by reapers, a promise Arcadus did not mean to keep. Why should he, they were basically animals, and were dying for a noble cause, bettering the lives of Arrancar.
"Ok Ser Trecera, you said you'd watch me to make sure I don't get merced by reapers right? Ok, time to EAT, DIE YOU LITTLE MEAT BAGS, PAPA'S COMIN IN FOR A MEAL AND HES- ACK!"
Arcadus grabbed the tail of this creature, whipping it back before it could jump off the side of the building onto the humans below. The fact that it actually believed it was going to eat amused him immensly,, a chcucke that soon turned into a maniacally "MWUAHAHAAHAHAAAaaaaaaa, stupid creature. You're barely fit for chow, much less to be allowed to running around eating humans that I could be. Know your place, and its serving me." Stamping on the things mask, and with his foot digging firmly into its head, Arcadus shook it off.
Looking at the reiatsu again, both with his second sight and his intruments, Arcadus noticed that there was a strange phenomenon. The hollow reiatsu lingered, as if some kind of stain or fume on the world, and slowly faded. Perhaps the soul and sentience, of the hollow remained after he killed it, free from that body? Definetely something he could work with, especially if he could imbue that property into a material or form it into a sword of shaped field.
Looking down at the humans, going about hier days like ants responding to the immediate pheremons of a hive, they went from job to job, task to task, to make a far larger machine work, something they could never see the full bulk, the full size of. In a way, he pitied them, dying, reincarnating living lives over and over with no memory of their full existance. Perhaps that was why it was better to embrace the spiritual.
He couldn't exactly call ignorance bliss in this situation, given how much hardship the mundane world brought. Disease, hunger, sickness, age, death. These things Arcadus knew himself to be above, at least in the normal senses. He still could get sick, just rare, curse like diseases. He could feel hungry, but more of an abstract longing than physical need for food. He did age, and could feel sick, but these were so far removed he barely considred them. Death didn't matter. If all went well, he'd be able to evade Hell and reincarnate as a shinigami or a spiritually aware human, and start over.
Starting over. Gods what an awful idea. For as short of a climb to the top in Los Noches it was, it wasn't like he was going to have it as easy as a shinigami or a fullbringer. That would be counting on him getting lucky, and he didn't get lucky. Not with fate anyway. Fate always seemed to deal him 2's and 3's when he forced situations to turn in his favor, so instead of just queen high hands he might get a pair of 2's and a pair of 3's.
He could hear something, gun shots. That was pretty rare in Tokyo, unless there was some kind of demonstration. But considering it wasn't ordered, and sounded like automatic fire, he could guess something was happening that was not part of any planned event or demonstration. Packing up his instruments into a duffel bag, Arcadus hopped to another building, closing the distance between him and this noise. He really did enjoy leaping through the air like this, feeling the wind slowly die as he peaked.
He was being sure to suppress his signature, it wasn't every day that you heard gunshots, and now police siren's in Tokyo. Looking over the ledge, it seemed like this was situated at a bank, a robbery? But banks were all digital, barely any money was held their and large withdrawals were done digitally anyway, so it wasn't like there was an issue if someone tried to take out their entire account, the only possible issue being if they tried to take it out in case.
So what was happening? As Arcadus leaped to the ground, he looked in through a window, and, seeing behind bullet proof glass a dozen tied up tellers, could figure it was likely a hostage situation. Hearing inside, he souls see one of them typing on a computer, before a masked man with a gun yelled into the security cameras, brandishing his pistol. "And we are LIVE TWITCH, HELLOOOOO TOKYO. WE are coming to you from the central bank in down town Tokyo, north of Karakura, we have, as you can see we have a dozen hostages."
"Every hour I do not get 1 billion yen wired to the account on screen in the Cayman Islands, I will kill," Pressing his gun up against a young woman's head "one of these fine japanese citizens. I hope you can write those checks fast, because I am counting down the minutes. And for the police out there, if I see any snipers or rushes in to here, I will kill all but one of these hostages. Your choice Japan, how much do you value your citizens and workers?"
Arcadus stepped back from the glass, and wondered. Not a robbery then, terrorism? Well, it looked like they were serious, or at least were very good at bluffing. In either case, if they cracked the vault, Arcadus would likely just swoop in and load up his duffle bag of equipment with cash and leave, but he was curious if the police had any ideas on how to intervene. Considering that it was unlikely they had powerful spirituals in their ranks, it was unlikely they'd even see him.
Even so, better to stay out of sight, though there wasn't much of a place to hide right now. Looking around, Arcadus crossed the street to see if he could get a better look at both forces, and if they were going to make any moves. Arcadus wondered if he was going to have to intervene, or if he even cared to. He didn't know these people, and it wasn't like this was a part of Japan he even cared for. As for making it as an opportunity to prove himself, there was nothing to prove and no one to prove it to.
Leaning back on the concrete wall of the building opposite, Arcadus figured he should at least be in a gigai incase this actually became something he would be known for, and opening a gargaunta and returning in his custom Gigai Kitai had made him, Arcadus leaned up against the wall. Taking out his cell phone, he figured he should probably warn Jane and his other acolytes that were in control of the cult while he was gone. Dialing and hearing her voice, Arcadus spoke the passphrase.
"Geromino, and hello Jane, I hope things are well in paradise, and that you're in a place we can discuss some sensetive information. I'm in Japan, and theres a robbery happening. I might end up getting involved, and if the congregation recognizes me it will be very bad very soon. Divert the attention with a prayer session or one of the set up disasters, like one of the aquaponics racks going down, or cut the internet. Something to get them off the news for a while."
"I am, "Gabriel", and I'll think of something, an internet outage seems to work, something about the outsiders trying to cut us off would work, and would give us a good reason to set up our own towers to get internet access after the fact. The triplets can run interference and collect the opposition, so that should handle the rest. God Bless Arch Angel" Jane sat down her phone. As much as she enjoyed this setup, she did stress and flex under the duress of keeping up with Arcadus's actions and motives.
Heading out to the inner rooms, where the fullbringers, those "blessed with spiritual abilities from the Lord" lived and gathered, Jane motioned for her other agents, those who knew the secret of this cult, over, and to move into a planning room, a repurposed panic room in the building left over from the preacher. The Triplets, Aiden Brayden and Kayden took note first, and as a group moved first. They always moved together so none would suspect.
Second was Natalia and Andrew. They were practically a couple at this point, but they were practically children at heart, and danced at that wierd spot before even dating. They made thier way in second, practically skipping at the oppurtunity to help their saintly benefactor. Then came Jon, the slimy card dealer, practically always having a deck of cards in his hands after making his way into the compound, and following him, was James, the zealot of the man behind Gabriel.
Inside the panic room, were the only humans who knew the secret of Gabriel, those who believed in his state as a being above them, at least currently, as barely spiritually aware humans, where he was a massive, deep, powerful, spirit who ruled a kingdom of those like him far away, and they were selected to be raised up to his level. Jane, seeing the last of the 8 sit down, spoke. "We are going to have to cut our internet for a bit, "Gabriel" is involved with something that might make world wide news, and if things go bad I'd want to know if its a huge deal or not."
Kayden, the most forward of the triplets, responded in her taciturn manner. "So I'm sure were supposed to run interference, collect up those who think its "Gabriel" and eventually talk them down after getting them outrage?" The other triplets nodded in agreement. Brayden responded "James, if your willing, could you watch the news coverage of the event our benefactor is referring to and let us know as soon as it hits national news, then we'll be on alert for anyone reading into it."
James, who seemed basically unable to sit in his chair, "of course, though I don't know japanese, I'll keep an eye out for his look and appearance, assuming he isn't entirely transformed, though if he was he wouldn't be asking us this." Turning to the couple, "You two can set up the breaker switch on the incoming cable right? You'll need a shovel and some of the electronics, so Jon, if you would head to the store to get those, we can have that set up by tommorow evening."
Natalia, Andrew, and Jon, all nodded in agreement. They had all grown close over this secret, and now they were once again going to make and manage this secret. The tension between all of them slackened for a moment, and as Jane got up, they filed out in the order they came in, each to their respective posts and duties. The commune would survive this, and would give them better oppurtunities to control the course of the experiement.
