As Ailene stood upon her air ground, she stared at the flickering avatar of fire before her. The bala that had originally been sent at him had passed through his ethereal form. Yet Ailene knew that they were of a lesser power than what she was prepared to unleash. From her maw erupted a terrible storm of purple, crackling lightning that jolted towards Arcadus. With incredible speed and control, it enveloped his entire form though Ailene noticed something to be off. The tendrils of electricity began to pass through the Espada. He seemed overall undisturbed by the destructive reiatsu that was flowing through his body. Ailene did not let up her assault.
Yet it seemed that Arcadus had a neat trick up his sleeve. His hands began to glow a shade of white, contrasting the color of the flames that enveloped him. Ailene watched as the lightning that she commanded began to warp. It jerked and followed the Tercera's movements. Ailene blinked as she immediately halted the lightning spewing from her maw though still giving Arcadus enough to work with. The electricity began to cycle through him as Ailene heard the words just over the crackling fury of the electricity. "I hope you had your fun Septima" With that, Ailene's vision was suddenly filled with the familiar sight of her original tendrils of electricity.
Jolting at her with equally impressive speed, she felt it wash over her scales. She could feel the lightning move along her draconian form. Despite that, Ailene found the pain to be rather manageable. Her scales began to sear and cook under the heat of the redirected Cero Lightning. Regardless, she knew the strength of her own reiatsu. This was far more potent. Destructive. She knew that if she was any weaker, she would turn to ash in an instant. With that thought in mind along with the deteriorating condition of her scales, Ailene utilized a Sonido. She needed to get away from this display. She would use the speed of her Sonido to dash back to the sandy plains of the White Desert.
She would likely be clear of the tendrils of lightning that once wrapped her. Now, there was a moment of respite. She felt her wounds clearly. Her scales seared. Her maw numb from the previous usage of Cero Lightning. She knew that her wounds would soon fade away. The pain would diminish. It was merely a matter of time. She watched as Arcadus descended back to the glassy ground that now covered a piece of the White Desert. Ailene smirked as she watched the once golden and fiery form of Arcadus fade away, flickering out of existence, leaving only his tangible body behind. Her draconian eyes peered at the Espada, focusing on him intently for any sign of aggression.
At this range and given Arcadus' pattern to date, Ailene had only one suspicion. A Cero. Though Ailene knew that Arcadus was likely just as proficient at using the Cero as her. She was not going to take any chances. At the tip of one of her talons, a pitch black reiatsu began to form, coalescing into a perfect sphere with a purple outline. She was ready to meet his with her own. As a token of appreciation for the opportunity that Arcadus had given her with this fight, she would not hold back. Besides. He could likely survive what she threw at him. If he did not, then he was not worthy to be one of the Espada. As Arcadus' hand unleashed the Desulbarte Cero, so would Ailene unleash her Cero Obscuras.
Suddenly the light that erupted from Arcadus' hands expanded, the pure blinding white light contrasting the ever present darkness of Hueco Mundo. The flashbang did affect Ailene, but her Cero had already erupted from her talon. The darkness that erupted from Ailene would expand as well, threatening to consume all in its path as it flew to meet the Desulbarte Cero. In mere moments, the two would meet. For a moment the struggle would likely seem even. The darkness overpowering the light of the Cero for a moment as the white light then pushed back. For a few moments they would struggle before the Cero Obscuras went slowly consumed the white Cero.
The Cero Obscuras would then fly towards Arcadus. Despite that, the struggle had likely given him enough time to evade it. Ailene, meanwhile, blinked rapidly as her vision was recovering. The blinding light had left its mark and while Ailene felt little pain, her vision was blurry and she felt dazed for few moments. She sighed for a moment, breathing out calmly as she knelt against the cold sand. Her tail was sweeping across the sand as her talons dug into it. Her vision suddenly returned to her as she gazed at the desert before her. Both her and Arcadus' Cero had torn through the landscape of the desert. Carving holes into the dunes. At this point, assuming that Arcadus made no move again, she would not either.
Instead she would fall onto her back, looking up at dark sky. With a dark yet pleased chuckle she began to laugh. Her laugh began to fill the silent air as she breathed out, her breath filled with the virulent disease that formed within her. With that she would sit up. She felt something as return to her. A potent reiatsu reserve along with a heightened metabolism. Soon she could get rid of the wounds that plagued her. If Arcadus was in sight, Ailene's draconian lips would simply curl until a smirk. She would call out to him as she rose to her feet. "We wish to give you our thanks Arcadus. This has been more fulfilling than either of us could have hoped!" The smirk would become a grin for a moment as she offered no hostile movements toward him.

Whether or not this Cero or the Gran Rey Cero is the ultimate traditional Arrancar Cero is unknown. It has been speculated for several years in Hueco Mundo, but no definitive test has been able to prove it. Thus far, they have seemed quite equal. Cero Oscuras from an Espada #4 or higher is forbidden under the dome of Las Noches, but only because any Espada #4 or higher is prohibited from Ressurection under the dome anyway. This Cero is usable only by Arrancar in their released state. It releases an enormous, menacing black Cero several times the size of a regular one. It immediately obscures and removes all light from the area, so that all can be seen as it approaches is an all-consuming black.
Its charging speed and firing time are identical to a regular Cero, and it fires in a straight line. However, the explosive potential is considerably greater, and this Cero has twice the reiatsu strength of the user.

Fire like a regular Cero while in a released state.
