Her eyes narrowed at the sight of that long needle. She didn't need an all too vivid imagination to be able to discern what the pointed tool was meant to do - and she decided it was better not to find it out. This was not the moment or the environment where she wanted to spill the beans on this very sensible topic, but in all honesty, it is only natural that they would pry on about this. Reports are one thing, a first hand account on what happened is another. But how would she go about it? Tell the truth, the whole account? She would probably not leave the room alive otherwise - and even if she managed to do so, there is no way she could reach the gates alone. There was no turning back.
The attempt to pull a joke did not resonate all too well with Akira. It was not about the way it was delivered, or the topic itself - she simply wasn't in the mood to make or take jokes anymore, brushing the comment aside with a similarly deadpan "Neat". She gathered her composure while Shizuyoko instructed her upon her need to comply - this was not a simple, formal interview. This was, for the most part, an interrogation. No would not suffice as an answer, and Akira rightly suspected that the woman across her had the means to extract the needed information from her, despite that endearing, albeit a little eccentric appearance. And it would, of course, mean that she would miss her mark and put on hold until she was "fit to serve", sitting idle while a storm was brewing - something she could not abide.
"Allright, fine. You're only doing your job, let's not make this harder for both of us than it already is. If this is what it takes to be allowed to fight those monsters. I trust the things I say in this room will stay in this room, right? Well then...about Natsuki and me...*sigh*...We were close. Very close. We...were lovers, she and I. Until the one with the broken mask, the fiend named Lagos Oscuras took her life...took her away from me.
It wasn't always like that. We were...rivals, I guess. I saw Kyoto grow for centuries, it was my city, my sanctuary that I had protected. There were others, of course, passing figures that reminded me of this life I lost due to my youthful folly and the ire of Sozen Kuchiki. I was told he is a master of intrigue after all...And, maybe at his leisure, I was left to my own devices, for the most part. Until, as you might know, Natsuki was dispatched to herald over the area in a permanent assignment. We had our petty quarrels - she thought I was a loud, gung-ho loose cannon, and I didn't like that the big guys arbitrarily put that twinkle-toed dilettante on my turf. But as the years passed, as we saved eachother from the jaws of death over and over, we...grew on eachother.
I'm not going to bore you with the particularities of our romance - it's not what you are here for, after all. And while it is only natural for members of an organization such as ours to get accustomed to the loss of our comrades, this...this is different. I've spent so much time analyzing what went wrong that night, you wouldn't believe...but the conclusion was always the same. It was inevitable. We picked up on a faint trail of Hollow reiatsu coming from an old industrial complex - naturally we darted out to investigate and contain the threat before it could cause havoc in an urban area. Turns out that these...Arrancar...can mask their reiatsu just like Shinigami do sometimes.
It didn't take long to turn out that we were in over our heads either. It toyed with us, taking hits that would easily send ripples through a Menos Grande with its bare skin, crushing Kidō in its palms, and using some manner of Shunpō I have never witnessed before. It even had the audacity to tell us its name, as the last thing to remember before our untimely demise...and when it flexed its Reiatsu, the entire building we fought in was reduced to rubble in seconds. I'm sure you have your own records on these occurences, on the techniques this new kind of enemy uses...but we were just...not prepared to run into something like that. In retrospect, I am sure it could have taken on a Vice Captain without flinching.
It was only due to Natsuki Tamura's valiant stand that we managed to force the fiend to retreat. She drew the monster's attention to her, allowing me to cast a full incantation Hadō #63...but the time it took me to recite the formula was more than enough for the monster to break the chains put on it...to put a hole in the body of my dearest...with its bare hand."
She had to force herself to go on at this point. Her voice grew faint and shaky for a moment, and she turned away to wipe a few stray tears off her cheeks.
"She died in my arms that night...the one I loved...like the morning loves the sun...Will this...be sufficient for your report?"

Physical Description:
H U M A N
While it may sound harsh and insensitive, it could be said that even before her run in with the thugs, Emily Fitch was a girl whose looks weren't really her strength. She was short with a stout stature, a round, freckled face and pale red hair that earned her lovable monickers like "carrot-top", "firecrotch", "actually Satan" etc. It was only natural that she'd try to shake up her looks with some freaky fashion, which kinda backfired as neither the short, blue hair, nor the black miniskirt, nor the tight, striped knee socks looked all too fancy on her. At least her makeup was fine - all the face-painting tutorials on Youtube paid off, as she completely skipped the panda-mascara phase many goth girls go through.
H O L L O W
While she was always miserable and depressed because of her looks, her human Hollow form looked like a living nightmare - sadly, she remembers every second of it, and it was one of the main reasons she was able to push through the stages of this unholy being so quickly. She was a great, slick-bodied caterpillar, a fake silkworm that had the ability to spit silken strands of tensile strength only akin to steel from her compound mouth. The first three of her dozens of foot-pairs ended in vicious, barbed blades that she used to pierce her trapped prey and pull it in to tear it apart with her pincers.
G I L L I A N
She didn't spend a whole lot of time as a regular Hollow due to the success of her Reiatsu masking and trapping abilities - this doesn't mean however that the "caterpillar" phase was over. As a Gillian she grew massive in both height and length, retaining the tattered black cape of the Gillian fused with the shape of something that would resemble a giant millipede with a massive porcelain mask replacing its first segments - the shape of which resembled a distorted human skull. The entire, massive being was a sham however, nothing but a massive, fleshy shell protecting a small, human-sized cocoon within.
A D J U C H A S
Once her will to achieve human form and leave the hellish life of devouring whatever she could without getting devoured in turn behind grew strong enough, the coccoon hatched, revealing a creature equally alluring and disturbing. At this stage of evolution she was more moth than girl, a humanoid insect with six bladed legs, a thick, pulsating abdomen, large and heavy butterfly wings and a mask that encased her entire head, complete with the massive antennae one would expect from a nocturnal member of the lepidoptera. She was fully capable of flight and could pierce humans and lesser Hollows easily with the piercing spikes on her legs.
V A S T O L O R D E
By reaching the state of Vasto Lorde she almost managed to achieve the looks she had dreamt for herself ever since she heard about the possibility of transcending the beast-like existence most Hollows are doomed to suffer. The obstructive abdominal growth disappeared completely as her form turned to something almost human - the extra pair of segmented, three-fingered arms, the powdery, triangular wings and her moth mask aside, which now revealed long, flowing black hair that almost reached the middle of her back - or her belly button, if she chose to comb it forward. Her entire body was covered in tight porcelain armor bearing the same segmented pattern as her arms and legs did.
A R R A N C A R
Mariposa looks fairly unassuming in her humanoid form, which is a wondrous development if one knows what she looked like when she was a Vasto Lorde. Gone are the pink-white wings, the compound eyes and three-fingered extra limbs, gone is the elongated, insectoid mask which haunted the nightmares of many a Hollow. The remains of her mask are all but unseen - a pair of long, serrated, bone-colored antennae that mimick the shape of fishbones adorn the crown of her head, laying flat against her hair, tucked in neatly beneath the hood of her cape. Another reminder of her past transgressions is her Hollow hole, which is located just below her sternum.
She bears the form of a small-framed, petite teenage girl. Her skin tone is somewhere between chalk white and ashen pale, as if she had suffered enormous blood loss recently, her limbs are thin and fragile, as if she never had done any exercise. If one would be able to take a glimpse at her chest, he would see that she is thin enough that her ribs are showing through her skin. The same applies to her arms and legs - while not quite anorexic, she does have some features that would make people worry about her health, such as the fragile bones showing on the back of her hands. She has come a long way from the hideous monstrosity that she once was, though - something she is very grateful for.
Whether out of modesty or secrecy, she still likes to hide her small frame beneath a well-made Arrancar uniform, most importantly a long, flowing cloak of silken white, complete with a hood that covers her eyes in eternal shadow - when looked at from the right angle, her eyes seem to glow with a sharp light, creating the image of a startling, ghostly apparition who would steal one's soul if looked at for too long. Oddly enough, she looks much less intimidating should she discard her cloak - she wears a skin-tight, black and white catsuit under the cloak, complete with a pair of white flat-heeled leather boots. One could say she almost looks like a superhero - or villain, for that matter.
While she does not look particularly stunning or even out of the ordinary aside from her strange and unusual skin tone, if one would pull off her hood, he curiously wouldn't find a lovecraftian nightmare hidden in the unnatural shadow, but a fairly lovable, heart-shaped face squared in a frame of somewhat shaggy, raven-black hair. Her eyebrows are strong and very expressive, doing good work to strengthen the gaze of her jet black eyes. Her dark lips usually don't betray any emotion and it is probable that a series of audible cracks would be heard if she suddenly broke a smile. If it wasn't for her omnipresent gloominess one could even call her adorable - something she would probably not appreciate very much.

Dislikes:
1. Unprovoked violence: The hazy memory of the cause of her suffering during the last months of her life haunt her to the present - she does not like people who remind her of that time whatsoever, and may lash out and reprimand them for their trespassing...which should end in a lot of blood and tears usually.
2. Brutishness: Reveling in the ogrish displays of the battlefield is not only distasteful, but also seriously messed up. This translates directly to fighting styles that revolve around beating people up - she has a great distaste for physical violence and its practicioners.
3. Infighting: In her mind, the Espada should work together as a close-knit group, a family who can herald over the horrendous place that is Hueco Mundo. Her idealism isn’t blind however, and yet she still loathes the predatory games some of the Espada play in order to rise in rank. Incidentally, those who often resort to such antics are the ones she has on her very short kill list.
4. Upstarts: People should know their place and respect their betters. There is nothing worse than a tiny poodle barking at a rottweiler all day, thinking it will scare him away.
5. Self righteousness: Only fools would believe in the infallibility of their ethics. That kind of insensibility and lack of empathy has caused so much grief over the millennia that she cannot abide it, especially not from old spiritual beings who should be beyond such things.
6. Stupidity: She loathes stupidity, especially those who aren’t even aware of it and continue their moronic practices in blissful ignorance. It is even worse when idiots bunch together, as they usually grow increasingly supportive of eachother’s dim-wittedness.
7. Hostility amongst allies: The Espada are a competitive bunch for sure, it doesn’t mean they should keep that morose attitude and be defensive or outright hostile all the time.
8. Pain: She has endured more than her fair share in this world and the past one, and it seems she can never really cast off this burden - the only way to do this is to share it with others, through a caring embrace...or more sinister, forceful means.
9. Touching: A moth is a fragile creature, - she has an innate aversion of being touched, since most of those interactions led to great amounts of pain or the loss of limbs. She needs an immense amount of trust to allow someone to touch her (or, alternatively, complete confidence that she can crush the person with no trouble), and as of now, only Shiki qualifies for this.
10. Hollow evolution: She remembers too much of the arduous path of becoming what she is today, and would love to be able to tear out these memories forever. The murder, the gore, the devastation - dancing on the brink of insanity with only a bright speck of light as a compass...nobody should suffer such an existence.
11. Intoxicants: Were it not for alcohol she might still live today. While those days are now nothing but a dark spot in her memory, she remembers that it made those thugs have the gall to trash her into a coma. Disgusting.
12. Hospitals: Everything from the cold, lifeless lights to the sterilized plastic, the sheets smelling of chemicals and the feeling of abandonement and anguish...they make her feel those dreadful months all over again.
13. Loud noises: As someone who values her safe zone and is cursed with sensitive ears, this should be a given. It especially applies if someone has a loud, boastful speaking voice or shrieks a lot.
14. Machines: She was at the mercy of those things for a long time before her untimely demise - she cannot stand the noises they make and the way they invaded her body during the days of her hospitalization.
15. Exercise: She never liked getting sweaty and jump around like a bouncing ball, and her physical qualities, namely her fragile, small stature didn’t make it better either. It is just not graceful.
Likes:
1. Lämp: Yesss...aside from the memes though, she likes lamps. A lot. Small ones, big ones, dim ones, bright ones, you name it. Lampions especially. If she’ll ever get a room in Las Noches, it will have a lot of them, all suspended in sweet twilight. She is not quite sure where this little obsession came from...
2. Shiki: This should come as no surprise. It is not a completely harmonious relationship, but she is quite content with enduring some abuse for the protection he offers her. He is a harsh mentor, but he values her and so does she. Being alone, at the mercy of the predators out there would be worse, much worse.
3. Surrender: She loves the moment when her enemies realize that the curtain is about to close and they abandon all hope. It is a very...disturbing passion, to say the least.
4. Girls: She doesn’t fully understand what happened, but once she regained her human form, she felt strangely attracted to females, something that was simply not the case earlier, not even during her life as a mortal. She suspects that it has something to do with her release, but her extensive research didn’t bring her closer to this mysterious shift in sexuality.
5. Power: Power is life, quite literally. Power opens the door to luxuries not avaliable to the oppressed, such as the ability to shape the world around them to their liking.
6. Mercy: While she does love to drive her enemies into total and utter despair, she is not one for wanton slaughter and prefers to leave them alive - especially if they are not a significant threat.
7. Grace: Being refined, well-dressed, gentle in speech and motion - these things impress her, separate the wheat from the chaff. She feels definitely more positive about people who fight in a graceful way aswell.
8. Beauty: As a fairly ugly girl, she has always craved to be beautiful and sweet to look at - one of the few luxuries that this dark reincarnation has granted her. A small one at best, if one thinks about the suffering she had to cause to attain the state she is in now.
9. Knowledge: The well-known saying aside that “knowledge is power”, there is more to it than that. Knowledge for its own sake is still worth pursuing, as it helps refine the mind and soul. It doesn’t come as a surprise that she likes literate people.
10. Quiet: People are troublesome, and things tend to get loud when there’s a lot of them around. One can barely hear oneself think when arguments arise - she prefers quiet solitude over those occasions, and often tells people to zip their mouths so she can think.
11. Her release: She considers herself lucky that her release manifested in the way it did, and thinks it looks gorgeous. A shame that Shiki won’t ever see it...
12. Goths: She used to be one, and finds them amusing, even adorable in a somewhat condescending way. If she can find them, they are definitely among her preferred prey - she loves to haunt them and show them the true extent of darkness which they so crave. Their expressions upon seeing those sinister revelations are priceless.
13. Dark poetry: It doesn’t even need to be good (eg.: the things she usually writes), as long as its dark and deals with the eternal night of the soul, she’ll probably like it. Of course there’s Poe, Byron, Shelley, Coleridge and assorted favorites, but one doesn’t need to be a grandmaster of gothic literature to make her swoon a little.
14. Synth music: She likes cold, clean sounds - darkwave, coldwave, shoegaze, all that stuff. Too bad that she has no way of enjoying it nowadays.
15. Hot chocolate: Sometimes even creatures of darkness need something to warm their soul - if one wants to get on her good side, pass her a cup of hot chocolate when she’s brooding.
Flaws:
1. Fatalistic: She believes in the inevitability of certain events and is prone to surrender herself to the tides of fate. She is also fairly set in her ways and is very unlikely to change her opinion about things she has made her mind up on. Mariposa is not one to give most people second chances.
2. Irritable: Mariposa has a thin skin when it comes to things she dislikes, and can be quite hostile if these occurences are pressed upon her. Intimidation, or worse, violence can be the answer to cases of continuous prodding.
3. Condescending: While there is always a bigger fish, she firmly believes that she's a fair cut above the runt of the litter, and while she usually doesn't rub it in their faces, it is quite likely that loud upstarts would face some snide remarks.
4. Insecure: She does her utmost to hide it, but she is in truth very much dependent on praise and positive impulses to keep her going. Especially when it comes to the ones she considers close to her.
5. Vulnerable: Despite trying her best to drape herself in an aura of uncaring, stoic stability, she is very much the opposite. Every insult, every slight, every painful remark carves itself into her soul - she needs to spend a lot of time recovering from these things, and the wounds just never seem to heal.
6. Unstable: Everything is fine until she loses control over the situation - should she begin to feel genuinely threatened, aggravated or perhaps even mocked by her opponent, she will likely forsake her gentle ways and work on reducing them to a smoldering heap of ash.
Habits:
1. Reading: She loves to read and hopes that the niceties of Las Noches will allow her to pursue her intellectual desires again (since being a towering monstrosity makes it kinda hard to handle a book).
2. Eavesdropping: Mariposa has an unhealthy habit of eavesdropping on people, including her Espada.
3. Hiding: She likes to play the (literally) grey advisor who exits his hiding spot just to butt into a conversation to provide a twist to a stale situation.
4. Haunting: Another unhealthy habit of hers is to enter the mortal world, masking her Reiatsu and toying around with a select few mortals - poets are her absolute favorite, as they tend to pool their haunting visions into beautiful works of art.
Fears:
1. Abandonment: While she has a hard time making friends, she would be devastated if those few that she allows to get close to her would choose to suddenly turn their backs and walk away.
2. Failure: As a prodigy she's not good at coping with defeat and counts on her immense talent and intellect to be able to carry the day.
3. Shiki: Mariposa knows what her Espada is capable of doing and does her best to stay on his good side. His state of blindness and subsequent immunity to her charm make him a very potent threat - and a powerful ally to be cherished.
4. Quincy: Every time she undresses she is reminded of her encounter with that radiant arrow - it is very unlikely that she would simply play around with them should she encounter one due to her fear.
Goals:
1. Unify the Espada: As it stands, the Espada are a ragtag bunch of individuals, most of them egoistic monsters only out to fulfill their own needs. This has to change if they are to make grand plans and intrude upon the domain of other races.
2. Become an Espada herself: While her position as Fracción is comfortable and cozy (aside from the occasional abuse and mortal danger due to being seen as an asset to Shiki) she believes that she would be in a much better position to shake things if she was an Espada herself.
3. Reach Segunda Etapa: As the pinnacle of Hollow evolution, an Arrancar's Segunda Etapa is a mystery that she has yet to see in action - she would go to great and terrible lengths trying to achieve this release herself.
4. Find the Quincy who maimed her: Nobody gets away with such insolence for long, and she's hellbent to show that cheeky brat what for.
5. Learn more about the other races: Mariposa thinks that other races, especially Shinigami and Quincy can and will threaten the position of the Espada as they did in the past. This is one of the reasons she prefers to keep weaker enemies alive, as it is much less dangerous to play around with them and see them grow than to give a dangerous enemy too many opportunities to attack while trying to observe and learn.
Overall Personality:
Mariposa's personality has almost come full circle since she passed away in that dreary hospital, to which the cause is probably the very young age of death and the impressionable nature of teenage life. Once she became a Hollow she quickly gave in to the terrifying new existence and only managed to gain control over it so quickly because of her intellectual capabilities and her level-headed personality. Well, to be quite honest, the "fortunate" occurence of her being allowed to rampage freely for the first hour and growing strong subsequently might have played an important part aswell.
H O L L O W
As a Hollow she quickly embraced the dog-eat-dog nature of Hueco Mundo, despite finding it abhorrent and abominable. Her unwholesome rebirth as a worm-like monster made her furious - she desperately wanted to become human, even if it only meant returning to the sad existence she had lost. The understanding on how to achieve this end only came to her later, much later...without seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, she adopted a sinister personality of complete egoism and even derived sadistic pleasure from overpowering her victims, releasing her own anguish and pain while she devoured them alive.
G I L L I A N
When she managed to reach the state of Gillian she became more cautious than before. As a host to hundreds of different personalities she had to focus a lot to retain her individuality, and her immense size and power made her vary of entering brawls or causing havoc in the mortal world as she anticipated fierce resistance, especially after witnessing a Vice Captain class Shinigami dispatch a group of Menos Grande like herself. It was here where she started to craft herself a personality and focused on cultivating an iron will that would build the foundation of the new "her". It managed to keep her going after times of starvation that inevitably came with her nature as an ambush predator.
A D J U C H A S
The immense power, mobility and overall improvement in her quality of life made her comfortable at first, but it didn't take long for her to realize how incredibly volatile this new state of being was. At this point she had learned that there is indeed a way to regain at least the form of a human, and her ability to send out her moths to eavesdrop and collect information made her soak up information like a sponge, even though her curiosity didn't stem from a simple thirst for knowledge but a calm, unyielding existential terror. She began to take extreme risks to be able to leave this transitional stage behind as quickly as possible, such as going to the mortal world on rampages that ended the lives of hundreds of people at once - she only stopped these once she got maimed by a group of Quincy who managed to follow up on her trail. This, ironically caused her to re-evaluate the choices she made prior - as she realized what a terrible menace she had become, she became horrified of herself and started to suppress and shackle her animalistic urges.
V A S T O L O R D E
When the hunger stopped and her evolution almost reached the peak she grew lonesome and depressed. There was no pardon for what she had done to reach this state - she realized she was forever doomed to remember the early days of blood and gore, and the death screams of all the innocents she had murdered will probably never let her get a good night's sleep again. The only way to stop the guilt devouring her was to become a force of light in a land of shadow and horrors, and by starting to cull Hollows and Arrancar who resorted to the worst excesses she managed to make herself believe that she had done something good. She became much more peaceful and gentle, and managed to reach a state where she saw herself ready to enjoy some friendly company - even if it was only among the damned.
A R R A N C A R
After her mask broke it was fairly sure that the carefully crafted personality would be here to stay, despite the innate instability that seemed to come with the vast power and the horrors she had to face. This instability can be something very worrisome - it makes her animalistic, selfish and destructive side resurface at times, and if she's being pushed really bad, she would even suffer lapses of control that can make her resort to sadistic acts such as tearing a defeated enemy apart while cackling over their maimed body gleefully. These episodes make her seem like a completely different person - and are usually followed by a plunge into a deep depressive phase as she sees such weakness as something unforgivable.
Despite her having mellowed out in the past decade, calling her "nice" would be quite an exaggeration. Friendly gestures are not really her thing, and should she feel the need to be supportive, it would be very likely that her remarks would only worsen the situation, despite her trying hard to actually be a better person. She has her boundaries, and if people don't respect them they're in for a bad experience, that's for sure - but even those violent outbursts have become softer in time, as nowadays she's content with frightening someone who's pushing her buttons away instead of resorting to actual physical violence.
She's very reserved for the most time, preferring to listen and contemplate things instead of speaking, especially when faced with a conundrum she doesn't fully understand or a situation that makes her uncomfortable - or something that simply doesn't interest her. Running one's mouth makes them look weak and foolish, and that is not how she would like to be perceived, even if she doesn't know the answer to everything. "It's always the quiet ones" after all, and she intends to live up to that saying to the utmost extent - the more threatening she's perceived, the more respect it garners, and the more impact an act of mercy can have if it comes from her.
Contrary to the image she wants to cultivate, she hasn't excised violence from her arsenal whatsoever and is perfectly capable and willing to trash someone if she sees no other way to reach her goals. Killing is something else however, something she only resorts to if she is sure about the inevitability of the encounter. Otherwise she prefers to keep her advesaries alive to steal their secrets and keep tabs on them, which allow her to weave her nets of intrigue to effectively counteract their strategies and abilities should she ever meet them again. After all, a familiar enemy is predictable to an extent, and the advantage of surprise can be significant if one'd blow the cover at the right moment.
Despite all these games and the uncaring, stoic mask she likes to put on, gaining a human form made her emotional to an extent, even though she doesn't like to admit these shortcomings and feels that they might cause her to fail in her goals which require a lot of perserverance and cold, calculating thinking. She craves approval, kindness and caring, maybe even friendship - things she isn't even sure she could handle well or reciprocate. These would be fragile relationships at best seeing what trials and travails humanoid Hollows have to go through in turn to even be able to reach this form, but she is hopeful that her loyalty and calm, thoughtful nature will manage to actually help her in finding people whom she can turn her back on without the immediate fear of having a knife thrust through her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighting Style:
Mariposa nowadays prefers to leave the fighting to people with more brutish inclinations - should this not be possible (as she often has to act on her Espada's command), she will reluctantly give in and do it herself. Her reluctance to fight stems from a fact that she has kept the nature of her release a tightly guarded secret, and the more people know about it, the more likely it is that ways to counteract it will become common knowledge and she'd lose her leverage before reaching the pinnacle of her potential power. Thusly, she prefers not to use her Resurrección if at all possible, and even then she'd prefer to only use the simplest, most easily discernable way of attacking with her moths.
If she is forced by circumstance or orders to fight, she usually starts off by analyzing enemies and focusing on dodging their attacks, at least if they are of similar or lower speed than hers. She suspects the existence of assassin-type souls and releases, and is quite vary of getting blitzed despite her proficiency in High Speed Regeneration and Hierro - therefore she prefers to know in advance who she's fighting, if at all possible. She only resorts to using Sonído if she sees no other way of keeping up with her enemy, and mostly uses it as a defensive tool to keep her distance from people who would bruise her.
Against sufficiently strong enemies she's prone to use and abuse her mastery of Cero, a powerset that compliments her still growing Reiatsu Strength perfectly. She has studied the different applications and variations of Cero extensively after witnessing the Shinigamis' extremely versatile use of the "demonic arts" to disable and destroy their enemies, and is quite adamant in her statement that being proficient in using Cero, especially in unexpected ways is the road Espada should walk in general to counteract these measures.
Should she be forced to release and have to move past the go-to method of suffocating her enemy with her moths until they fall asleep, she will gradually ramp up her Resurrección and, depending on how aggravating they are, give them ample time to back out of combat. If her orders are not explicitly specifying the need to kill them and she doesn't snap in the process that is, which would make her much more aggressive, actually trying to eradicate her opposition. This applies especially to her usage of her latter Resurrección abilities to a gruesome effect.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
Her Zanpakutou resembles an ordinary wakizashi in a white sheath. The tsuba seems to be made up of four lozenges resembling the spread wings of a butterfly, while the wrapping on the guard bears a similar color to her Reiatsu - a deep, dark purple.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both stage names, and call out phrases)
Primera Etapa: Polilla Blanca (lit. White Moth)
Release: “Bring the Tempest, Polilla Blanca!”
Polilla Blanca is a highly unusual release. Its underlying theme is not easily visible, unless one uses the appearance of the release as the “medium” - the release hosts seven omens, seven curses inflicting various maladies on its victims. The moth ties it all together - a fragile, harmless nocturnal relative to the butterfly that was represented in various mythologies as a visitor from the dark afterlife, a restless spirit that causes ill fortune on those who would do it harm. In 1840, entomologist Moses Harris wrote (about the moth):"It is regarded not as the creation of a benevolent being, but the device of evil spirits—spirits enemies to man—conceived and fabricated in the dark, and the very shining of its eyes is thought to represent the fiery element (of Hell) whence it is supposed to have proceeded. Flying into their apartments in the evening at times it extinguishes the light; foretelling war, pestilence, hunger, death to man and beast. (the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse)" This subtle, occult and sinister connection between the curses is hard to decypher for those without a polished mind and a good grasp of mythological lore - something Mariposa uses to her full advantage. Even its release command is a testament to this dichotomy - the impossible thought that something as harmless as a moth can, through circumstance or ill fate, cause a storm through the flapping of her wings.
Primera Etapa Overall Ability:
After releasing, Polilla Blanca turns Mariposa into a moth-human hybrid. She grows two additional arms just below her existing ones, all four of them covered up to her hands in armour-like Hollow chitin that looks almost like porcelain while the hands themselves turn inky black. The same extends to her legs and feet, and like that of a myriad of Hollows or Arrancar, her appendages grow a set of graceful claws that can aid her in combat. Her hair grows pale while the whites of her eyes darken and her irises become fauceted, glowing discs of light. Soft, silky fur sprouts around her neck, wrists and ankles, while broad, cloak-like wings drop down from her back. Her mask fragments turn into serrated antennae almost a foot long and resembling a haircomb in their appearance.
While not as graceful as the wings of a butterfly, the triangular wings of Polilla Blanca can be used to fly in the next post after the start of her Release - her flying muscles, just like those of a real moth, need to warm up before being able to support her weight. She can always spread them to glide though, should she fall from a great height. She can also use them defensively - despite their fragile appearance, Hierro also extends to these appendages and can make it difficult for her enemies to make it past them due to their large span.
Her newly grown sensory organs (compound eyes, antennae, sensory fur) allow her for a variety of ways to feel her environment, which makes it very difficult to severely disrupt her senses. Her antennae are olfactory organs that can increase the range of her Pesquisa to a massive radius of five kilometers, her fur can sense subtle movements in the air in a radius of 20 meters which can thwart surprise attacks like Senka, and her compound eyes are resistant to injury since they would even function after a large number of the faucets were destroyed in some fashion (a horizontal sword slash, for example). If 70% or more would be destroyed of a single "eyeball" it would cease to function however.
Segunda Etapa: Esfinge de la Muerte (Deathshead Hawkmoth, lit. Sphinx of Death)
When she enters Segunda Etapa, Mariposa's appearance takes a dark twist. Gone is the color of purity that would befit a benevolent and beautiful creature - her colors become almost inverted as the patterns on her wings gain a skeletal appearance and a startling black color, contrasted with ashen grey and coal brown, similar to the Acherontia family of hawkmoths. Her softly glowing irises contract into pinholes of terrifying light that seems to shine from beyond, and her demeanor changes from placid to outright merciless - a messenger who preaches nothing but the inevitability and finality of death.
Segunda Etapa Overall Ability:
Enthralling her victims in a dream-like haze, they feel a morbid, deadly fascination with this newfound form, a subconscious urge to advance towards her - a profound desire to give in and move closer to this messenger of night eternal, so that they can bask in her dreadful presence while she administers her judgement upon them - hoping that surrender will change her demeanor as she takes pity upon them.
This ability implants a suggestion in the subconscious of anyone being able to see her to draw closer to Mariposa. The stronger this lure is, the more it quells hostile intentions as the fascination supersedes any insult or injury suffered before. Anyone entering her "domain" (100m radius) at any point during her Segunda Etapa and being able to see her is immediately affected, requiring a Strength of Will rating of 3 to resist. The nature of this fascination requires a 2 in Battle Analysis to grasp - if someone understands its hostile origin, the Strength of Will requirement is pushed down to 2. A superior OS of 50% can also resist this effect.
If the urge is not resisted, they are required to stay within a 50 meter radius or suffer intense withdrawal symptoms as their mind begins to fight their body. Staying outside of this radius causes effects similar to peak withdrawal symptoms of strong opiates such as heroin - severe anxiety and nausea, restlessness, chills, teary eyes with dilated pupils. The effect disappears when they move closer than 50 meters, bringing instant, blissful relief and a rush of endorphines.
Resurrección Techniques:
P R I M E R A E T A P A - P O L I L L A B L A N C A
Augurio de Sueño (Omen of Sleep)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 200 Reiatsu initially + 150 for each subsequent post
Technique Description and Effects:
Mariposa interlocks her fingers into a pose similar to praying as her wings begin to tremble, releasing a swarm of large, triangle-winged sphinx-moths (Acherontia genus, around 15cm wingspan). The hazy, fog-like cloud obscures vision (for her aswell) and can spread to an ambient area effect of 10*Class meter radius or be concentrated around stronger enemies - she can command one such smaller swarm per arm which can exit the main cloud. The ambient effect spreads at a speed of 400 in all directions, while the concentrated cloud assaults its target at a speed of 600 (sphinx-moths are some of the fastest insects in the mortal world). While the mist generated by the shedding of their wings is already obstructive on its own (and the more potent vision loss of the concentrated ability), their true power lies in them causing drowsiness to the victim if they manage to latch onto them. The effectivity of the ability depends on Mariposa’s OS superiority - assuming an enemy of similar strength, exposure for a full post causes lapses of consciousness and heavy eyelids, while three posts worth of exposure causes them to fall asleep for the following five posts. Waking them up requires physical injury or an ability that can counteract either a curse or a sleep effect. The swarm cannot be parried by normal means or cut apart with a weapon, as it consists of a few thousand moths at least. Mariposa can abandon the swarm at any point, making the moths disintegrate instantly into fine butterfly dust.
Drawbacks: Elemental AOE attacks or spells can decimate the swarm readily - the moths can be set ablaze with Cero or fire-type Kidou (Shakkahou, Kongoubako, Soukatsui etc.) and will lose their ability to fly if their wings get wet. Fire-type abilities clash with twice their normal OS when determining whether they can blow away the haze. Strength of Will can delay the effect by one post per point. Summoning the moths with this ability requires 200 Reiatsu and 150 more for each subsequent post for maintaining the ability. An enemy with superior OS can delay the inset of the penalties by another post while 25% OS superiority is enough to ignore the effects outright.
Augurio de la Desgracia (Omen of Misfortune)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 200 Reiatsu to fire a Mark + 150 to make an ability botch
Technique Description and Effects:
Mariposa spreads her wings to display a startling, vivid crest with a dazzling pattern similar to a Rorschach test's ink blotches. While it seems like seeing this display is enough to fall under the power of her, the ability does send out a projectile of the same size and shape as the patterns on Mariposa's two main wings, in a straight line, with a static speed of 600. These projectiles are extremely subtle, silent and invisible to anyone below ES 100 (at ES 100 a faint ripple in the air is detectable). If the projectile hits a limb it becomes tainted and discolored by the ability as if it was bearing a translucent, white tattoo - a Death Mark.
Just as a lamp's glow is irresistible to a moth, Mariposa's wings draw their opponent's gaze towards their mesmerizing patterns and transfixes them. A Strength of Will rating of 2 is required be able to ignore this effect and be able to avert their gaze.
Mariposa can subtly tilt the scales of fate and, with a sudden jolt of ill fortune, cause an ability of a Marked opponent to botch. The jinxed ability can hit an unintended target, gain a reversed effect, fizzle out harmlessly or even turn on its user. Since fate is not immalleable, the ability forces an OS clash, with the severity of the botch caused depending on the OS difference between Mariposa and her opponent, assuming OS superiority.
800+: The ability botches in the worst way possible, causing injury to the user that would be more severe than the actual ability would allow normally.
400+: The ability backfires - offensive abilities inflict the intended effect on the user or a friendly target instead of Mariposa. Non-offensive abilities render the user vulnerable somehow, such as falling prone due to snapping an ankle due to a botched flash-step.
200+: The ability causes more strain on the user than it usually would, fatiguing them greatly - OR injures both the user and Mariposa to the same degree, OR misses its mark, leaving Mariposa unharmed. (the user of the ability decides)
1+: The ability works as intended with a side effect that is somehow exploitable by Mariposa.
0>: The ability has no effect.
Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost. Targets need to be Marked for the botching ability to work. Not using techniques or abilities protects pretty well against this technique. The Marks last for four posts at most and need to be reapplied afterwards. Cutting off all four of her wings makes all Marks disappear instantly - they need to be reapplied after regrowing the appendages. The botching ability can only be used if Mariposa looks directly at her opponent, with a post cooldown after each use.
Augurio de Dolor (Omen of Pain)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: Triggered by second application of the previous ability + 100 per post per Mark
Technique Description and Effects:
By recalling the memory of the terrible agony she has suffered through her mortal and Hollow lives, Mariposa can make the formerly white patterns of her Death Marks turn black, causing her opponents to share her pain - whether they'd want it or not.
The ability requires a second hit from the projectile detailed in Omen of Misfortune. This second hit refreshes the mark and causes an immense amount of pain which, depending on the Pain Tolerance of the victim, can render the limb paralyzed and useless until the ink is somehow removed or the Mark fades. While it only discolors the skin, removing the affected area can be an absolutely terrible and gory process. A hit on the head results in a headache resembling an extreme case of migraine, while a hit on the torso makes every breath taken like a sip of scalding-hot steam. Hits on multiple limbs ramp up the pain: for each limb hit after the first one, the target's Pain Tolerance gets lowered by one until the ink is removed. Points in Strength of Will increase the number of affected limbs that are required for the effect to worsen by one each, peaking at 4 (meaning only the sixth limb struck after the first will worsen the effect; a human opponent with SoW 4 would have to be covered completely in the markings to suffer a loss to his or her PT).
PT 0: The limb is shaking from the excruciating pain and is uncontrollable.
PT 1: The limb is barely usable, but any strain put on it causes the pain to be worse than it already is, which is hellish already.
PT 2: The limb performs below its capabilities, every movement feels like dragging it through a tub full of glass shards.
PT 3: The limb works, but using it is every bit as unpleasant as if it suffered a multiple fracture.
PT 4: The limb functions normally in spite of the extremely distracting pain as the victim is a master of self control.
Clothing, armor or abilities like Blut or Hierro do not protect against this ability. Mariposa can make the patterns disappear to relieve her victims of the resonating agony.
Drawbacks: Invoking this ability causes physical pain to Mariposa. She can only trigger this ability once for every point in Pain Tolerance and once for every two points in Strength of Will. Maintaining the power requires 100 Reiatsu per post for every activated Mark. Maintaining this ability is draining to maintain and costs increasing amounts of Stamina, scaling directly in proportion with how many activated Marks are maintained.
Augurio de la Fatalidad (Omen of Doom)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 200 Reiatsu to maintain per post
Technique Description and Effects:
The greatest of her Primera Etapa’s abilities, Augurio de la Fatalidad makes her transfixed enemies suffer a gradually intensifying, looming sense of dread, a feeling that something terrible will happen, that fate itself is conspiring against them. This feeling intensifies with the analytical capabilities and intelligence of the enemy in question - having points in those skills can lead to them freezing up completely. Each point in Analytics or Battle Analysis worsens the terror of the affected, and the skills count as having one level lower when measuring beneficial effects for each subsequent post. Conversely, they inflict an effect of hopelessness scaling with the level of the skill in question - the deeper one's able to look in the abyss, the worse it looks back, after all.
1 point: A slight feeling of dread, a child kept awake by not being able to see the darkest corner of a foreign room at night.
2 points: Intense fear - imagine sleep paralysis.
3 points: Agonizing terror, sharks circling around one in open water.
4 points: Disorienting, terrible anguish. Julius Caesar about to fall to the blades of his kin. All paths lead to only one outcome. The end is at hand, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. It is nigh impossible to focus on something else.
While the ability is active, Mariposa can make this feeling of dread turn into gruesome reality and turn the phantom pain caused by the Marks inked black with the previous ability into horrifying stigmata. As long as Augurio de la Fatalidad is active, she can touch or hit a Mark inflicted by Augurio de Dolor with her hands or mouth, causing the ink-drenched skin to erupt in a fountain of blood, adding a serious injury to the already terrifying pain. Wounds caused by this ability bleed more profusely than they would normally, each one needing a point in Bleeding Tolerance to overcome the resulting blood loss, with a stacking penalty just like the previous ability. A Mark successfully triggered with this ability does not disappear until the end of the thread.
It is enough to hit the spot where a mark of Augurio de Dolor adorns the body of the victim, as the "ink" seeps through cloth and armor effortlessly due to its occult, spiritual nature.
Drawbacks: The first ability requires victims to be transfixed. Using this ability more than once causes her eyes, palms and wing-patterns to bleed, cutting her ability to fly after the fourth use. Lack of Fear can mitigate the effects of terror - a 3 in the Skill is enough to suppress this effect (and the resulting loss of Analytics and Battle Analysis).
S E G U N D A E T A P A - E S F I N G E D E L A M U E R T E
Augurio de la Pena (Omen of Sorrow)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 400 Reiatsu per post
Technique Description and Effects:
While Polilla Blanca is already capable of terrible things, Esfinge de la Muerte, the peak evolution of Mariposa makes past abilities seem like child’s play in comparison. It creates a rain of spirit particles condensed into black drops within a dome measuring 50 meters across that slowly forms a tar-like surface on the ground and sticks to the poor souls caught in it. This effect builds up gradually and the area is always centered around Mariposa, moving with her, although surfaces the rain has touched (including people) remain tainted until her Segunda Etapa is over. The area becomes difficult to traverse as the ground becomes saturated with the dark particles and becomes a supernatural mire that drags down everyone trying to traverse it besides herself.
Anyone getting soaked in this dark rain can feel their fighting spirit, hopefulness and determination being drained from them. The effect persists until the Mariposa's Segunda Etapa is over.
Every post that they spend within this area increases the severity of the effect by one step. What the feeling can be compared to lies written next to the post count.
One - Heartache. Lump in the throat, tears forming in the eyes. Hearing their most beloved weeping song or watching the saddest movie they know for the first time, seeing their loved one kiss with a stranger.
Two - Palpable, deep sadness. Witnessing the death of a beloved pet or a distant but well-liked relative.
Three - Depression, clinical variant. Combat style becomes stale and uninspired, attacks become sluggish, movements slow down.
Four - Suffocating sorrow. Felt after the sudden and gruesome death of a parent.
Five - Major depression. The world is ending. Unstable personalities are likely to commit self harm.
Six - Massive emotional trauma. Seeing one's most beloved person getting torn apart piece by piece while they beg for mercy until the very last moment. Focusing becomes virtually impossible.
Seven - Catatonic state. Completely unresponsive to outside influences, can barely breathe anymore, probably curled up into a fetal position.
Drawbacks: Strength of Will can delay the ticks of the effect by one post per point. 25% OS superiority delays the effects of each level by one post, at 50% OS superiority the opponent is unaffected.
Augurio de la Fragilidad (Omen of Frailty)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 350 Reiatsu
Technique Description and Effects:
A well represented fact in mythologies across the mortal world, anyone who harms a dark messenger such as a Deathshead Hawkmoth is prone to suffer catastrophic consequences. This technique allows Mariposa to turn that superstition into horrifying reality by cursing her enemies with supernatural fragility.
While her Segunda Etapa is active, Mariposa can touch a limb with an active Mark and cause the bones in it to splinter into sharp fragments. This effect is caused by invasive Reiatsu fragmenting the bone structure and bypasses any defensive techniques which would block physical damage. It takes 3 seconds for the effect to take place and is ineffective if the target has 25% OS superiority however as their Reiatsu is able to overwhelm Mariposa's easily. If her OS is superior however the fragments cause internal bleeding due to the force they are shattered with, leading to bleeding with the severity that requires 1 point of Bleeding Tolerance to resist for each 20% her OS exceeds her victim's (to a maximum of 4 per limb). This is cumulative with other bleeding effects.
Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost, touch only, requires a Mark. Only one Omen can be applied by the same touch.
Augurio de la Muerte (Omen of Death)
Class: same as user (Resurrección)
Cost: 1000 Reiatsu
Technique Description and Effects:
Unlike the previous ones, the Omen of Death, the final release of Mariposa manifests itself as a weapon - a spear seemingly woven from liquid nightmares. The weapon measures about two meters in length and is made entirely from a black, metallic substance - its shaft constantly writhes and ripples with repulsive, elongated forms that echo the appearance of maggots, centipedes, worms and even serpents - perhaps even a mass of intestines. As one moves toward the head, a vicious bloom of bladed, ebonsteel filigree adorns the gruesome weapon, bending and twisting with each movement, like reeds in the wind. The neck is strongly tapered and almost impossibly thin - the head, while brighter in color than the rest of the weapon is every bit as vicious, and due to its reverse barbs it resembles a harpoon more than an actual spear or lance.
Anyone taking a direct hit from the weapon immediately gets assaulted by the memory of the final seconds of Mariposa’s victims, re-living their mortal fear and pain suffered just before the moment of death - depending on the mental fortitude of the victim, massive emotional trauma and mental instability are sure to befall them.
Should she lose her spear she can teleport it back to any of her hands for a surcharge of 100 Reiatsu if she is within a 100m radius of the weapon. Outside this range the weapon disintegrates and needs to be summoned again. Hitting a Mark with the nightmare spear can trigger the effects detailed in Omen of Pain and Omen of Doom simultaneously or worsen the effects already present by one step. A Mark triggered like this oozes with a black ichor and counts twice for calculating defensive Skill erosion.
Additionally, a hit from the harpoon causes a paralyzing fear of death to well up in the victim, causing their body to shut down and their soul to unravel. The effect worsens with each post the ability is maintained - it progresses faster with the number of active marks on a victim - each active Mark at the time of the hit hastens the effect by one post, while certain skills can delay it. Mariposa can always choose to end the effect immediately.
One: Minor shock. Heart rate double of the norm.
Two: Major shock. Victim is mute for the remainder of the ability.
Three: Severe shock and heart pain. Victim forced to back away from Mariposa unless his Strength of Will is higher than 1.
Four: Minor mental illness related to fear and anxiety (permanent). Can only be cured by another person with an appropriately high HE to cure mental illnesses. Victim forced to back away from Mariposa unless his Strength of Will is higher than 2.
Five: Chronic mental illness related to fear and anxiety (permanent). Can only be cured by another person with an appropriately high HE to cure mental illnesses. Victim forced to back away from Mariposa unless his Strength of Will is higher than 3.
Six: Severe mental illness related to fear and anxiety (permanent). Can only be cured by another person with an appropriately high HE to cure mental illnesses. Victim is paralyzed until the ability ends.
Seven: Lethal heart attack.
Drawback: Massive Reiatsu cost. Only triggers if Mariposa has a hold of her spear, it cannot be thrown. Only one spear may exist at any given time. Lack of Fear, Strength of Will, Calm Mind delay the progression by one post for each point in any one of these abilities (these are not cumulative however). The final tick can only be applied to RPCs in a DE thread.
Other Techniques [10/20]:
S O N I D O
Technique Name: Sonido (Lit. Sound Step)
Class: 7-1.
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A powerful technique, Sonido is a step that increases movement speed for a single step. Essentially, it magnifies the speed of just that one step, by 13 times. Each step for Sonido costs 100 Reiatsu. Additionally, this technique does not take up a technique slot.
How to use technique: Just use it and drain the Reiatsu.
Drawback: Reiatsu cost.
S I N S O N I D O
Technique Name: Sin Sonido
Class: 4
Technique Type: Hollow/Arrancar
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
Sin Sonido is the next stage of Sonido evolution, which was developed by Marcelius after countless examination of spirtual particles resisting the flow of spiritual beings through Hueco Mundo's dense atmosphere. Using the principles of Reiatsu-infused movements, introduced by Sonido, this technique uses a larger supply of Reiatsu to enhance every aspect of it's predecessor. Not only does the Reiatsu used allow for faster travel, but it also reduces all drag and impedance of spiritual particle resistance. Where Sonido filled the muscles with energy needed to heighten the user's speed, Sin Sonido additionally coats the user in Reiatsu. With this internal and external building of Reiatsu, the user will figuratively meld with the world around them as they burst with sudden speed. The density of the surrounding particles is of no consequence, as this technique was designed for Hueco Mundo's tremendously dense environment. The same density that forced Arrancar to improve Sonido's design over the Shinigami Shunpo has further enhanced this technique to a higher quality. In atmospheres with less density in spiritual particles, the task is all the simpler to accomplish and control.
The result is a reduced spiritual resistances means less of a footprint. It is possible for masters of Sin Sonido to travel so suddenly and so flawlessly, that they simply materialize at their intended destination. Even wild animals cannot interpret such a flawless transition. After all, this is a Predator's tool. Sin Sonido has also prove more difficult to react against, this is a forced psychological effect due to the techniques bizarre, traceless nature. Truly, this is a most fearsome technique... but is only recommended for practitioners of considerable skill. Once a soul can learn to use it with maturity, a Sonido without sound can prove a most deadly addition to an arsenal.
Sin Sonido increases the user's speed by x10. Observers with Senses beneath 400 cannot hear the beginning or completion of this technique. Observers with Senses of 400 or greater can detect the signature Sonido noise. Observers with Instincts beneath 200 cannot track the movement or arrival of this technique, though they may still prepare counters. Observers with Instincts of 200 and above are unaffected.
How to use technique: Using Sin Sonido is exactly the same as using Sonido.
Technique Drawbacks: The user of this technique must have Sonido mastered. Sin Sonido moves slower than typical Sonido, to avoid unnecessary noise Sin Sonido also costs more Reiatsu than typical Sonido to accommodate the atmospheric blending.
Cost: 150 Reiatsu

H I E R R O
Technique Name: Hierro (Harden)
Class: 3
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: Metal
Technique Description and Effects:
Hierro is an Arrancar technique in which the user's reiatsu condenses, creating a steel-hard skin strong enough to block a Zanpakuto. This also allows them to fight some of the sword-wielding Shinigami barehanded. This technique guards against reiatsu based and melee techniques. If the user has 150+ reiatsu strength superiority to the enemy, then the user is totally undamaged by all attacks from the enemy. This means an Arrancar is essentially invincible based on Hierro for some time. At 75-149 reiatsu strength advantage, damage is very minor, but present. A large slash could be a tiny cut. At less than 75 advantage, there is resistance to damage from the Hierro. Small resistance.
How to use technique:
Always active. Doesn't use reiatsu to keep active, uses reiatsu strength for strength. Permanently active as soon as it is learned.
Technique Drawbacks: Must deactivate this to use High Speed Regeneration. Reiatsu is lost upon deactivation, reiatsu equivalent to the technique class, which is 3. 400 is lost upon deactivation. 400 is then also lost upon reactivation in the same thread. Final stage release bypasses Hierro automatically by default. (Bankai, Fullbring Stage 2, etc.) Vizard Bankai does NOT bypass Hierro. Vizards, even if they have not yet become full Vizards, must use their mask to bypass Hierro. Those facing Hierro can gradually adjust to it per combat hit against the enemy, though within a certain post limit. Let's say Person A has Hierro, and is fighting Person B. If Person B hits Person A twice with attacks, then after 8 posts of their combat have elapsed, then Person A's Hierro counts at 80% of its strength (100 Reiatsu strength would be 80). After 12 posts of combat, if Person A has been hit at least four total times, then Person B can now treat Hierro as if it is simply 60% strength (100 Reiatsu Strength would be 60). After 16 posts of combat, if at least six hits have been landed, Hierro stops working against Person B.
B A L A
Technique Name: Bala (Bullet)
Class: 6
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A straightforward and simple technique that hardens the user's Reiatsu and releases it like a swift blast of spiritual energy. While the technique is not nearly as powerful as a Cero, its speed is 20 times faster and allows for it to be fired in quick repetition. The orb of reiatsu fired varies in size and strength, some Arrancar creating one the size of a basketball with the rough power of a massive punch, and others creating Bala with enough power to blast holes in adversaries. Some Espada can create Bala as large and powerful as an average Arrancar's Cero.
How to use technique:
The user must first aim and then fire the technique, as is custom of any projectile type.
Technique Drawbacks: 50 Reiatsu cost.
C E R O
Technique Name: Cero (Zero)
Class: 4
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
Available only to Hollows or Arrancar of at least Gillian status, Cero is the signature technique of higher level Hollow races. This concentrates their reiatsu into a condensed blast of light which fires out, usually from the hands or similar body part, though many can use it from their chests, feet, mouths, or other appendages. Color is usually red, but many Arrancar have learned how to alter the color of their fired Cero. When charging it appears to be an orb, but when fired is a large, very wide beam. It has a distinct high-pitched sound when charging, and a very low growl when fired. Anyone can hear either, and thus discerning a Cero is very easy. In power, weaker Cero explode on contact with targets, but some Cero have enough power to keep going after hitting a target, and simply consume and disintegrate it.
How to use technique:
Aim body part at target and charge the technique, then fire. In speed, takes a few seconds total.
Technique Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost of 200, despite being class 4.
C E R O E X T E N S I Ó N
Technique Name: Cero Extensión
Class: Class 3
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: Cero
Technique Description and Effects:
This technique is actually fairly simple. It simply allows the individual using it to fire off a normal strength Cero from multiple points at once. One your average human-shaped Arrancar/Hollow, this technique will allow for the firing of 4 Ceros at once: One from each hand, one from the mouth, and one from the Hollow Hole. However, the real benefit of this ability lies in the fact that if the user has a form with extra limbs (ranging from arms to tentacles and many things in between), they can fire off an extra Cero from each of these limbs as well. In essence, this means that this technique will gain in power by simple virtue of having more limbs. In addition, each of these Ceros can be aimed by each of the limbs, enabling a wider range of coverage.
How to use technique: Charge energy and fire.
Drawback: Base cost of 300 Reiatsu to fire in basic form, plus an additional 50 Reiatsu per additional limb used to create a Cero. Requires a blood sacrifice in much the same manner as a Gran Rey Cero. If a blood sacrifice is not performed (such as to speed up the firing process, for instance), burns will from on and around each of the areas used to fire this technique.

P E S Q U I S
Technique Name: Pesquis (Sight)
Class: 5
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
An Arrancar exclusive technique that allows the user to cast a seeming "radar" for a one mile radius, allowing them to sense any and all beings that have reiatsu in the area, and tell how strong that reiatsu is, and even locate an enemy in battle. Vizards can slip through Pesquis during use of step techniques. Those of speed three or more times the user's can also slip through Pesquis. This allows a one mile radar per 50 energy sensory. Its accuracy also increases with higher levels of energy sensory.
The default version can sense location, general flaring and fluctuation of reiatsu, and basic movement.
How to use technique:
Focus. Lasts for 5 posts once activated.
Technique Drawbacks: In addition to diverting some of the user's focus, this technique can be fooled by mid to high level illusions, and step techniques which reach a speed at least 30% or more of the user's step speed can slip through Pesquis, seeming to disappear like a ghost off of the radar.
L O W P R E S S U R E
Technique Name: Low Pressure
Class: 8
Technique Type: General Reiatsu Skill
Usable By: All Races: Requires a 1 in Calm Mind or a Reiatsu Control Skill
Technique Element: Air
Technique Description and Effects: This "technique" is a passive reduction in the output of reiatsu that one gives off while not supressing their power. It can still look impressive and bright, but the output is reduced to the point that it is incapable of doing any harm to a living being. For those who know this technique, the only noteworthy effect that casually outputting reiatsu can have (beyond looking pretty) is to cause a very slight difference in air pressure. This difference in pressure causes a very slight breeze to blow towards the user of this technique. It is no more than a few miles per hour, making it barely even noticeable unless you're looking for it.
There is a very slight benefit to this. Scents drift more easily towards the user while this technique is active, as they float along the air currents that move towards the user of this technique. The use of reiatsu is so slight for this technique that it doesn't appear noticeable except to those with incredible (200+) energy sensory. When mastered, the output is so low that it is indistinguishable from a normal energy signature, and can even be used while reiatsu is being masked if the user has at least a two in stealth.]
How to use technique (How is it activated?): When learned or proficient, this feat is only available by fluctuating one's reiatsu to create a difference in air pressure. Activating it feels similar to just building up the reiatsu for a technique, but the amount is very small. When mastered, this technique is passively active at all times unless willingly ceased, or in the case that the user is in combat and lacks the appropriate skills to maintain the focus on it.
Technique Drawbacks: Requires a skill to be learned, and requires rank 2 in that skill to be used in combat. It is a permanent replacement to the ability to pressure crush. That cannot be done unless this technique is unlearned. This technique cannot be learned by types that lack fine reiatsu control such as fighters or Kenpachi types.

G A R G A N T A
Technique Name: Garganta (Cave) (CINEMATIC TECHNIQUE)
Class: 4
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
A technique used by Hollows and Arrancar to move between the human world and Hueco Mundo, though Arrancar under the service of Las Noches have demonstrated the ability to use it to enter Soul Society as well. This opens a black tear in the air which resembles the gaping maw of a shark, and the inside of which is simply a void of shimmering black. Those inside create pathways made from their reishi, on which to walk to the exit. Some, who have mastered the Garganta, are able to create a reishi pathway which moves them rather than them having to walk along it, treating the Garganta like a sort of elevator to where they are going. This is a slow opening technique, and one that cannot be used in battle.
How to use technique:
The tear simply opens upon the user's will. This technique uses no reiatsu, but it cannot be used if the user is down to 0 reiatsu.
E S P I A A L A D O
Technique Name: Espía Alado (Winged Spy) (CINEMATIC TECHNIQUE)
Class: 8
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
The signature technique of Mariposa, she can create a glowing purple moth made of Reiatsu that works as an extension of her senses in a 100m radius around the familiar. Additionally, Mariposa can use any moths she summons, be they conjured through a technique or a release ability, to transmit her voice. She likes to use this ability to warn would-be trespassers about pressing onto dangerous territory without putting herself into unneccessary danger - and also to offer the option of surrender to anyone she thinks would get crushed under the weight of her powers, should a fight break out.
How to use technique: Create a moth from Reiatsu and send it away by blowing at it softly
Drawback: The moths bear her Reiatsu signature and can therefore be traced back to her. The moths can only travel up to one mile away from Mariposa.

C E R O N U B E
Technique Name: Cero Nube (Swarming Cero)
Class: 3
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: Cero
Technique Description and Effects:
This technique allows to infuse a swarm-like ability (such as Senbonzakura's blades) with the qualities and destructive power of a Cero - the individual entities of the swarm pulsate with the same volatile Reiatsu as the user's Cero, and need to charge up for a post's length until they can explode.
How to use the technique: Charge up a regular Cero and instead of firing it, disperse the energy into the swarm ability.
Drawbacks: Requires two points in Cero Mastery and a swarm-type ability to ride on. The cost of Cero Stigmata has to be paid upfront when charging the ability. Damage is delayed and the "bombs" can be destroyed without triggering the ability. Cero charge time is added to the regular charge time of the ability. The swarm can explode in a chain reaction should at least 20% be destroyed at once due to the volatile energy. Has a cooldown of one post after each usage.

Technique Name: Cero Stigmata (Stigmata Cero)
Class: 3
Technique Type: Hollow Technique
Technique Element: Cero
Technique Description and Effects:
By suffusing the destructive energy of a Cero within his or her Hierro, the user can create a powerful riposte, a trap which is triggered upon receiving a wound. Should anyone manage to create a wound by piercing or otherwise damaging the user's Hierro, a Cero immediately shoots out from the wound towards the perpetrator. The energy alteration can be sensed with an ES of 150 - each point in Analytics reduces this requirement by 25 points since Hierro is a well-known technique. Since the Cero is already charged this retaliation is basically instant, it requires a Senses or Instinct rating of 300 or above to be able to perceived in time to be dodged.
How to use technique: The user needs to charge it like a regular Cero and crush the energy buildup instead of releasing it.
Drawbacks: Requires Hierro to use. Requires two points in Cero Mastery. The technique blows a hole into the Hierro that cannot be sealed during the thread. Should a weapon or technique have penetrated deep enough to cause a wound, it becomes burned (3d degree) and seared, requiring at least two posts to seal the wound with HSR. The dent in the Hierro can only be healed with a healing technique during the thread. The technique can only be maintained for three posts after which the Reiatsu has to be released via a regular Cero or severely burn the user's internal organs. A maximum of 3 Ceros can be fired off from this technique until the duration ends.

R E D I R E C T I O N
Technique Name: Redirection
Class: 3, 2, 1
Technique Type: Other
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects:
This is a vicious technique used by strong reiatsu beings. This allows the user to grab a hold of reiatsu, cycle the energy through their body, consume it (therefore making it theirs), and then hurl it back. In other words, one can redirect the enemy's reiatsu based attack by catching it and throwing it back either by spin or just catch and throw.
How this works has been stated above. Now, the important thing to recognize is that there are three classes to this technique. The class 3 version can catch reiatsu of any class except class 1+, and redirect it for half cost of the technique. The class 2 version can do the very same, except it layers the user's reiatsu strength on top of the enemy's reiatsu strength for the returned attack. It also uses the full cost. The class 1 version can return any technique regardless of reiatsu strength, and does so with the user's reiatsu strength layered on top of the enemy's. However, it does so for double cost, and does not work on class 0 techniques.
How to use technique: Stated above.
Drawback: This will burn the user. It will burn their arms. It will burn their insides a bit. They will cook a little. This will strain their body and reiatsu. It can only be used once per post. It shuts off release if used 3+ times in a released state.

History:
Emily Fitch was always a curious case. Born in Kingston, London as the daughter of a highly eccentric couple of a professor and a grade school teacher who grew into a self-appointed medium, one could say that she was predestined for an extraordinary life - or unlife, as it would be more accurate to call it that in her case. After her mother passed away during her sixth year due to a severe and atypical case of typhoid fever during a vacation to Egypt, the child seems to have inherited her ability to see and interact with ghosts. What was supposed to be a trip to reconcile their marriage ended in tragedy, and the unbelieving father had pushed the girl, who insisted that she could see and talk to her mother's ghost into therapeutic care, afraid that she wouldn't ever be able to recover from the shock.
While her ability didn't fade away in time, she has definitely learnt to keep her mouth shut about it if she was to interact with people and make new friends. It was obstructive and bothersome, sure, but better to endure the nagging of the lost and helpless than to be called crazy throughout her life. Even so she was considered odd and weird by her young peers, and while it might be harsh to say something like this, it definitely didn't help that she wasn't the prettiest girl either, especially as she hit puberty - something she would suffer from greatly during her short life. On another note, growing up in a privileged family wasn't always a godsend - she hated her nanny, the doctors and nurses looking after her instead of her father, who had grown distant and holed up in his academic work.
She grew up as a loner and a dreamer, who was both aloof and somewhat uncaring about the world around her, yet simultaneously more adult than a lot of young people of her age due to the liberties she enjoyed due to her absent father. Too smart for her own good, she managed to slip through most of her education without the need to pay all too much attention to class, and her grades were mostly average due to her unwillingness to put effort in homework or essays. She grew more interested in snooping around in her mother's esoteric archives, taking a liking to the strange and unusual, much to the chagrin of her father. Once she turned 14, Emily began to delve into music and subcultures, ending up hanging out with a bunch of goths and took up the unbelievably original alias of "Emily Strange", despite not bearing even a slight resemblance in her looks to the comic character in question (and her best efforts to change that).
As a somewhat spoiled girl with a strong anime fad, she managed to convince her father to allow her to take part in an exchange student program at Fukushima College. To her credit, unlike most of her fellow mangaka she actually started learning japanese a year ago by then, and got to a level where she could interact with the locals without falling back on english constantly. This however would not help her so much with integrating - the loner remained a loner, and as her grades started plummeting due to her welling disinterest in studying, she started to drink, party and stay out late, trying to make the best out of the botched semester.
Little did she know that she would not leave the faraway country alive. On her way back home from a visual kei gig, she passed through a park in a remote area in the city and was assaulted by a gang of piss-drunk teenagers. The attack was violent beyond belief and uncharacteristic for Japan, garnering widespread local media attention after Emily was hospitalized dropping into a coma due to her severe head injuries. Police later reported that the louts were known to them and have previously been on probation due to under-age alcohol abuse and vandalism of public property, having absolved a rehabilitation programme ranging over a year.
She was barely kept alive during the first few days due to the massive head trauma she had suffered - her skull was fractured in multiple spots and her face was trashed so bad it became almost unrecognizable. It was only due to the hospital staff's miraculous intervention that she managed to make it, even though she would never become anything like the person she was before. Unfortunately for her, the comatose state only lasted for a period of four months, after which she woke up - but unlike it is often portrayed in movies, she wasn't able to interact with her environment or give anything but the most basic responses.
Upon her father's visit she was only being able to move her eyes. She tried communicating by squinting, which in itself was so exhausting that she quickly gave up on it. Her father tried to arrange for her transfer to a british hospital, but her injuries were deemed so severe that this risk could not be taken responsibly. After he left, Emily tried to fight the crippling injuries and tried to force her body to respond step by step, despite being locked in a nightmarish world of perpetual machine noises, sterile walls and piercing lights, coupled with the ever present pain that not even morphine administrations could stop. A month later, she managed to curl her fingers and at least let out a few fragile moans. She was determined to live on, despite seeing her mangled reflection in the window every day - not because she wanted to start anew, no. Because she was afraid of what's to come, as she witnessed the appalling apparitions of the recently passed, some chained to their memories of life and bemoaning their fate only for her to hear.
After a year of fighting her way out of this personal hell, one of the largest disasters in Japan's history, the great Touhou earthquake struck Fukushima. Emily was in the middle of an examination when it happened - unable to move or even to scream, she had to endure the worst minutes of her life. Not only did she witness the nurse caring for her being struck dead by a part of the collapsing building, the life support machine she was hooked up on started failing due to the blackouts caused by the ruptured power lines. After all this suffering, her struggles were ultimately in vain - she died lonely and in anguish that nobody should ever suffer.
This is where the true story of Emily Fitch begins, even though that name would forever fall into obscurity.
H O L L O W - D E A T H S P I N N E R
Everything that happened before became nothing but a faded blemish upon her soul, memories of anguish locked into her deep subconscious of a life she might never have had. The manner of her passing and her already potent spiritual capabilities hastened her slide into Hollowification a hundredfold - the formation of her mask being ultimately triggered by seeing what she looked like due to her out-of-body experience as a short lived Plus. She collapsed into herself and became a monster, who set out to devour every living being and unfortunate soul that could not escape her terrible wrath.
The startled and confused ghost of the poor nurse tending to her was her first victim, sadly far from the last. Her hideous caterpillar form burst through the crumbling walls and started a rampage, shredding, maiming and killing everything in sight, including the lingering spirits which were haunting her for months on end. The sudden nature and incredible magnitude of the natural disaster have caused great distress among the forces sent from beyond as a response, and the day that would become one of the darkest in the history of Soul Society's interaction with the mortal world became the crucible of the being that would be known as Deathspinner. By the time a Shinigami was able to get to the scene the death toll was already above two hundred, and the Hollow getting assistance from her kin turned the situation even worse.
This alliance was short lived, obviously, as the feeding and subsequent satiation had managed to clear some of the red haze obscuring the cunning intellect of Deathspinner. She gladly sacrificed her fellow monsters to wear down the young Soul Reaper, attacking at an opportune moment when the inexperienced young girl had expended most of her power already. Deathspinner was delighted with this meal, mesmerized by the delicate proportions and sweet face of her victim - she wanted not only to consume her, but to become like her...and as she tore her apart in amorous desire, this fixed idea would found the basis of her transformation into a superior being, and a terrible guilt that haunts her to this day.
While obviously terrified, she couldn't allow the dark miasma of Hueco Mundo to cloud her judgement. She withdrew from open spaces, seeking shelter in the undergrowth of the Forest of Menos, narrowly escaping a grisly death due to the gigantic monsters immense power. Sensing their similarity in spiritual signature she soon deducted that they must be some sort of evolution of her current state, but the hunger she felt drove her to start hunting to be able to survive the anguish. She used her newfound abilities of net-spinning to great effect, luring Hollows into her lair by flexing her potent Reiatsu, indicating a delicious meal.
G I L L I A N
The Gillian state brought an immense increase in size and power, at the cost of being ultimately sluggish and ponderous. She turned to a scavenger's life, and as her net extended far and wide, she began observing battles fought in the Forest, only crashing into the open once she would face wounded or maimed opponents she could devour without risking too much of an opening herself. She became paranoid, preoccupied with whipping the voices in her head into submission - and even so, it was only a streak of good fortune that let her live through this phase of evolution. Her fixed idea of becoming something beyond this monstrous existence had driven her on to such an extent that her massive, cloaked caterpillar body had created a shell inside of her - a small pupa from which something miraculous would emerge.
A D J U C H A S
After she managed to devour a weak, wounded Arrancar by the name of Gigi Toreador, the towering, segmented body burst open as the cocoon hatched due to the surge of Reiatsu, and what emerged from the steaming piles of gore was an unnerving being - half human, half moth. Her genesis was not one of grace and power - drenched in blood and unable to use her shriveled wings to fly, she crawled to safety as fast as she could, holing herself up in a small cave where she could adjust herself to the new body that she birthed from herself. She was both amazed and appalled by the perceived fragility, and while not quite human yet, she saw the reflection of her glowing eyes in the puddle of ichor gathering at her feet.
Not only did this revelation underscore the information she has been able to pry out of the mangled Gigi on how he had achieved his transformation, it also made her chase the promise of power with this sleek, small body of her, a weapon she would use to forever end the torment of never ending hunger and become something glorious. The towering, cloaked figures of Gillian soon became nothing short of target practice and food to her - sustenance she desperately needed, as this state of being was so volatile that it drove her close to insanity to maintain it.
Soon she returned to the mortal world, conducting a series of hit and run rampages that would leave the forces that be confused and terrified. Instead of targeting major population centers she attacked remote concentrations of people such as tour buses, sightseeing groups and finally a cruise ship named Dido. Unfortunately for her, someone managed to track the trail of death, mayhem and destruction back to her, a being that she has never encountered before - a Quincy. While her memories are hazy due to the shock she suffered due to that duel, the massive, light-colored scar below her slight bosom will always remind her of the searing arrow that almost managed to destroy her.
V A S T O L O R D E
Her evolution soon came to a halt. No matter how many souls she consumed, Hollows she tore apart, Gillians she toppled or Adjuchas she bested, the progression to become one of the famed Vasto Lorde was not something that she could simply achieve by continuing to devour more and more victims. Her focus turned inward and she withdrew from the grisly reality of the Menos Forest to a remote location in the desert, a solitary tree so far out that one could just barely see the tip of Las Noches. She started fasting, and during her period of delirious ascetics, she managed calm down and rein in the restless spirits that comprised her, promising them a future where they wouldn't need to face hunger or existential fear on a daily basis anymore.
Only through this long and lonesome period of self torture did she manage to shed her former appearance and walk upright as an apex predator - ironically this meant that the animalistic urge to devour every living being on sight has finally stopped, yet the hole just below her sternum ached on. As more and more of her human qualities emerged, she grew resentful of the ways of the damned and began hunting those who reminded her of the existence she left behind - the brutes, the uncaring butchers, Adjuchas and Arrancar who gave in to their darkest desires and massacred eachother for the faint chance of escaping their unsightly fate.
She has spent many wasted years on trying to reshape Hueco Mundo into a calmer, more serene place - her efforts were ultimately in vain however, and as she noticed that despite her culling of the worst excesses that Hollows could produce, she slowly gave in to the pressure to finally put an end to her vigilante crusade and her eternal loneliness. Her knowledge about the existence of the Arrancar has fueled her interest since the day she learnt to use her conjured moths to eavesdrop all around Hueco Mundo - and drove her, after a long period of contemplation to take the dangerous road to Las Noches and become one of them, in hopes that she would find someone who shares her visions to pacify this tormented land.
Ironically, she never reached the fortress on her own. Halfway to the massive fortification she was ambushed by a group of Shinigami on a mission to abduct the lone Vasto Lorde they have been observing for a while. She managed to maul half of the detachment into oblivion within the first seconds of the encounter, but the ambush they laid was just too much for her to handle. She succumbed to the barrage of Demon Magic and became bound, only able to shatter her more superficial bonds with the immense bursts of Reiatsu she managed to expel in panic. After a brief struggle it became apparent that she would not make it out of this predicament alone, and her cries for help echoed through the desert only to be swallowed up by the ever hungry night.
Help came from an unexpected source. While the Hollows she had called to assault the intruders were no match for the group that assaulted her, someone else came to her rescue - someone terrifying. Cuarta Espada, Shikitsuhiko Isayama. Despite being outnumbered six to one, he didn't even flinch when it came to saving a potential ally, and began to tear her captors to shreds, giving her time to gather her strength to break the final binding spell. She was unsure whether it was the pathetic situation she was in that angered him so much or he bore a long lasting grudge against Shinigami, but the fierce grace with which he fought inspired her greatly and made her feel hope once again.
While the leader of the intruders managed to scarper just after their target managed to break the 99th spell of binding and ultimately turn the tide of the battle, their action ended in an absolute disaster. Not only were they unable to capture the ascended Deathspinner, Soul Society lost almost a dozen of their ranks to the pair - a shameful display, even though their plan would have succeeded if it wasn't for the Espada's intervention. Free of her bonds and among a field of destruction she eyed the Arrancar varily, unsure about his intentions...she had exerted herself too much however, and before she could raise an arm or wing to defend against a perceived attack, she collapsed and blacked out, with the last thing she felt being a pair of arms that easily caught her fall. A lonely tear shed after years of solitude - it seemed that things would change for the better now.
A R R A N C A R
She spent days upon days under the dome of Las Noches, locked in a large, empty room of gleaming white. She was given a choice, one that would change everything. She could serve the man named Sonken as a subordinate of her savior, or finally come to rest at the hand that saved her. The decision was an easy one to make for someone who had fought so long to keep living on - there was a catch to this however, as she had to become an Arrancar to be allowed to join the ranks of the Números...and while she had the option of letting Sonken perform the mask break, the Cuarta wanted her to do it herself, believing in her strength. It was something he was denied by circumstance of doing, and he made it clear that he would be around to observe the process in its detail.
On the eve of the seventh day, Deathspinner called out to Shikitsuhiko. She was ready to do what seemed to be impossible, to overcome her mortal fear and maim herself in this way to ascend to this new form of being. To tear her mask apart and become Arrancar. And as the Cuarta braced himself to observe the spectacle, she clenched her teeth and dug her fragile, clawed fingers into the flesh that connected the porcelain bone to her skin and began to rip it off her face. It was not a simple act of self-injury, although even that would have needed considerable willpower to perform - every beginning is hard, however, especially when it comes to metamorphosis such as hers.
The porcelain shattered from her grasp, and as she screamed in self-inflicted agony, the walls of the room began to ripple with the absolutely fiendish release of Reiatsu. She only saw glimpses of his figure, yet her lord seemed to weather this outburst that would rip weaker beings apart with remarkable confidence. He called out to her, and she would follow. The walls cracked open as she finally managed to perform the final tearing - her bone armor disintegrated, her extra arms fell off her torso as if they were never meant to be attached to her. The triangular, menacing wings on her back disintegrated into a black dust - all that remained was a frail, ashen-skinned girl, blinded by her own blood, with nothing but a pair of bone antennae adorning the crown of her raven hair. A sight both pathetic and beautiful to behold - since for the first time in what seemed to be centuries, the being who would now be known as Mariposa had finally managed to smile.
