Adolf stood in awe at the woman before him. What had just happened? One moment, he was swinging at her, and the next, his blade clanged to the floor. He stood with his jaw open, completely in shock. Had he just lost the battle? Was there anything he could do to actually pull through and win this fight? Surely there was something he could do, right? Perhaps he'd have to resort himself to being captured again. No, that wouldn't work, she likely wasn't going to fall for the same mistake again. So, what was he to do? Lay down his arms? There had to be another way.
Engaging Nola in melee combat surely was not the best option. After all, his only chance of that succeeding was just eliminated with the split of his blade. He'd have to outrange her. But doing so undetected? That was likely not going to happen. He'd have to make a choice; hope to defeat Nola, but give himself a limited escape route, or possibly lose the encounter, but get away unscathed. He was in no position to make the decision at current, and needed more time to think over his options. Surely there'd be a way he could get the best of both worlds?
He picked up his blade in his left, allowing the blade of the piece to sink into his open hand, piercing skin while walking towards her. While, not enough to cause him to bleed out, it was enough of a wound for a noticeable amount of blood to drip from his hand to the ground. "My dearest Nola," he said, "You say I'll only get hurt if I continue. You say I can't do this. Yet, each and every time, you give no reason behind why. All you throw my way are empty words of warning. It feels as though there's no meaning behind them." A tear began to roll down his cheek, becoming visible when it reached near his mouth. The chances of Nola not seeing this weren't the highest, as he'd be around ten feet away from her at this point.
He dropped the blade from his hand, and once again let it clang to the ground with a soft noise. He clenched his fist, then relaxed after a second. "If you are so hung up over my stopping this," he said, pointing his hand towards her, his self-afflicted wounds clearly visible, "Then give me a damn reason to do so." Adolf turned his head away, clearly conflicted about the situation. Another tear made its way down his cheek. "If this happens to be our last encounter with each other," he managed to say, his voice portraying a clear amount of pain in his words, as a small blue orb began to form in his hand, "Then I am extremely sorry. I did not mean for it to come to this. If not..." He turned his head back towards her, a smile forming on his face. "I would be glad to get to know you all over again. Promise me you'll survive this one?"
As he finished speaking, the orb rumbling in his hand condensed, and fired outwards towards the girl. This was indeed another cero, but one of much more aggressive, volatile power behind it. It took on a much more identifiable shape, zig-zagging towards her and looking rather sharp to the touch. It was certainly something that would prove to be rather difficult to dodge, given the unpredictable nature of the blast itself. He wasn't entirely sure himself if she'd be able to power through the force of the attack, as he didn't know what she was capable of. If he did, Adolf had long since forgotten how powerful she was. Perhaps it'd be something he'd see in the future, but for now, that was undetermined.
He took a few steps back, and waited for the blast to clear. He held his arms out to his sides, and continued to face her. It seemed like he was purposefully trying to leave herself open. Thinking one step ahead of her, he began to speak again. "I know what you're thinking; this is NOT bait. I'm not trying to coerce you into attacking me. If you're still standing after that, I'd just like a quick word before we resume the fighting. Should you attack, I will not hesitate to return the favor at full force. This is me trying to take a peaceful approach, to where we're both happy with the result."
