Aimo stood over the shaking form of the third seat. Surprisingly, the shinigami had been able to manuever around the immediate threat and actually catch one of the spears, even though they were covered in the slippery cream that had gotten into Kaen’s bloodstream. Even though the fraccion was as insane as they came, he could tell that this battle had reached its climax. Brazen Bull was now working its magic, crippling his prey like a mouse that had just been bitten by a hungry tarantula. Kaen was in no condition to fight against Aimo now. It was doubtful that he could even muster up the concentration for a single shunpo, much less a kidou or decent strategy.
However, Aimo saw it as the third seat struggled to maintain a standing position, he saw the shinigami gripping his own spike in his hand like a spear. The fraccion remained hunched over the third seat for a moment as he waited for movement on his prey’s behalf. He did not have to wait long until Kaen made his move. As quick as a flash, the third seat would lunge forwards at the fraccion’s thigh with his own spike. Through the pain, Kaen continued to fight, proving to be truly deserving of his position in the Gotei 13. The makeshift spear was aimed directly at Aimo’s femoral artery. While this would indeed threaten to pierce the arrancar and cause him to bleed out in only a matter of minutes, there were two things that Kaen had not considered when forming this brash plan.
The first of these things was the fact Aimo’s hierro was now doubly as hard as normal due to the Molten Sprinkler technique he’d used earlier, though Kaen had no way of knowing this. The second thing that Kaen was forgetting was the fact that Aimo could launch spikes out of anywhere on his body. Before the spike could even reach his femoral artery, spikes shot out from Aim’s overhanging chest, as well as his stomach, leg, and thigh blocking the attack from hitting him just by the sheer happenstance that other spears got in its way. However, those weren’t the only places which spikes shot out from. Everywhere, including Aimo’s back, arms, and face immediately ejected spikes that would skewer everything around him, and since Kaen was still nearby, that included him as well.
Aimo had reacted as soon as he saw Kaen move. While he wasn’t fast enough to react with his body, he could merely cause his spikes to shoot out and kill Kaen before he had a chance to do anything, right? Kaen would find himself skewered by countless spikes from the fraccion’s body. There would be no ending the fraccion through simply causing him to bleed out. Not today at least. From the time Kaen spent fighting him, he should have known that it would take way more than that to bring him down. It was likely, that even if Kaen’s lunge succeeded, that Aimo would simply release the spikes anyway in the same manner, killing him anyway. The spikes were not intended to block the spear, but rather their intention was merely a reaction to Kaen’s sudden movement.
