Per Z, Amaya will be treated as non-typed for this thread. This is to avoid LG abuse but not make Amaya pointlessly weak without any type benefit. Bug him if you have issues with it. Because of the circumstances, Amaya should probably avoid hurting him too badly if possible.
Circumstances:
Yusuke Kobyashi is a 3rd Seat in Squad 10 who is at the hospital for something. He tries to escape, and soon-to-be 3rd seat of Squad 4, Amaya Azarola, is tasked with getting him to go back to his room and get the rest of his treatment like a good boy.

It seemed to be a beautiful day in the fourth division. Almost all the patients were calm peaceful and healthy. But all that peace would be shot straight into the air sooner than anyone would think. In one of the many rooms in the 4th divisions medical treatment building slept a handsome white haired and ivory skinned man. He was bandaged tightly around the arms and across the forehead. The 3rd seated officer had lead a group of none seated officers into the human world for a mass killing of hollows. It was easy over all but Yusuke’s protective instincts got in the way and he ended up getting beat up pretty badly. A young fourth division medic enters into the room with a clip board. She has short black hair with a heavy bang that went across to the right side of her face. A thick light blue streak went through the middle of her bang. Her eyes were oval and were a dark green color. Her uniform was the basic shinigami uniform expect her sleeves were tied up with a bright neon blue sash that tied in the back in a bow.
”How are you doing today Suke-kun,” smiled the medic as she gazed at the sleeping man as if he were her dream man. Of course the sleeping 3rd didn’t respond still pretty deep in a sleep since he was up most of the night with some sort of night terror. This pretty little medic was an unseated officer named Mayuki who joined over 20 years ago but looks no older than 18. Smiling softly to herself she brushed her bangs out of her eyes as she sat down on the very edge of the bed beside the sleeping 10th division member. Mayuki had been nursing this man to health for the past week but she hasn’t once seen him awake. She had been pushed out during his night terrors since it took at least 5 men to pin him down. Even during his night terrors he didn’t wake up. Mayuki wondered what colored his eyes were. Mayuki didn’t know who this man was until he was brought into her care. She had heard rumors about him being a common escape artist in the 4th division and that keeping him for more than a couple days once he is awake is a miracle. Yusuke was known as the escape artist of the 4th division even when he was seriously maimed he was able to escape to the 10th division barracks.
”Now to clean you up a little. I heard some of your friends from the 10th division are coming to visit you soon. A lot of them want to thank you for saving their life,” smiled Mayuki as she placed the clipboard on the bedside table and picked up a large shallow bowl. Walking across the room she filled the bowl slowly with some warm water. Grabbing a white wash cloth from above the sink she placed in on the edge of the bowl before she walked back over to Yusuke. Mayuki gently brushed the man’s bangs out of his face before gently whipping it down with the damp and ringed out wet rag. But before she could start whipping him down again he was gone. Mayuki blinked and looked around to find the window the bedroom was wide open. Mayuki quickly ran to the window and looked out to see Yusuke climbing down the side of the building since he was only on the second floor before he jumped down with a soft thud a few feet above the ground.
Yusuke let out a childish grin as he waived up at the nurse who had been taking care of him for the past few days. Stupid fourth division assigning a newbie to him, how dumb can they get. Sighing to himself he quickly strapped his zanpakuto onto the back of his hips even though he was still wears a simple white yukata that most patients wear when they are at the fourth division. ”When I get back to the barracks I am defiantly changing out of these hideous garments,” muttered Yusuke to himself as he tugged on the simple white fabric.
It had finally happened. After what seemed like an eternity of special missions, random disasters, and people picking fights with her, Amaya had actually gotten her vacation in! It had been a wonderful week, but a week was all she was allowed. Normally she would’ve gotten more, but sadly the Fourth’s policies didn’t account for her vacation being interrupted so many times. Ce la vie. Even if it had only been a week, it was enough time for some good rest and relaxation. Heck, Amaya only really needed one night with her special someone to be feeling back at 100%. After a night with Hokori, there wasn’t much that could knock her down…except for runaway patients.
Amaya was only on her first day at the Fourth, but there was already trouble. She hadn’t even been assigned her rank officially yet for gosh sake! She had just been minding her own business, strolling in to work, and some crazy person had tried to run right through her! Whoever he was, he clearly was a patient. He was dressed in the standard white robes that the Fourth gave to everyone while they stayed at the hospital, so that much was easy enough to figure out. Sure, Amaya was new to this, but she was pretty sure patients weren’t supposed to be out in the courtyard, and they definitely weren’t supposed to be running around. It wasn’t really hard to figure out what was going on, especially from the look of this guy. Hibiki had told her plenty of stories about people thinking they were fit for duty and trying to sneak off. That was surely the case here.
The medic stood up and dusted herself off. The man before her was certainly a bit of a looker, but this girl was on duty right now. She needed to not mess up on day one! Besides, she was a looker too! Her body was something most men would kill to see with a bit less clothing on. Today, since it was her first day on duty, her clothing was actually the standard Shinigami attire… aside from a few changes of course. Rather than a hakama, she had a pair of pants that were closer to scrubs or martial arts pants than anything else. The fit of the outfit was also superb, though some might argue the chest was cut a bit too low. Last but not least, the traditionally white obi was replaced with red one.
As for the girl underneath those clothes, she was worth looking at. Jagged, almost spiky bangs framed her eyes perfectly. The rest of her black hair came down to the upper part of her thighs, swaying with each movement. She had just a touch of makeup on. A bit of black eyeliner and a touch of red eyeshadow let her golden eyes pop seductively. Her lips had just a trace of gloss on them. They shined just a bit, but their color was still a healthy, natural pink. Overall, her form was rather slender, but it wasn’t without both curves and muscles. She was far from the strongest of fighters, but she wasn’t so fat that you couldn’t make out the signs of training on her. Despite that, she was still painfully feminine looking.
And let us not forget the most unique detail of this young lady. On the top of her head was a pair of black vulpine ears. From just below her waist there was a snow-white fox tail. Clearly, she wasn’t exactly ordinary. No, this was none other than Amaya Azarola, Third Seat to be of Squad Four. Having had enough time to dust herself off and assess the situation, she spoke to the patient in a pleasant, honeyed tone. ”You really ought to watch where you’re going handsome… and right now, you ought to be going back to your room.” Unless she was stopped, she hooked her arm around one of the man’s own and began to try and drag him back towards the hospital wing. ”Off we go then!” It looked like Yusuke was going to have to try a bit harder if he wanted to escape from Squad Four on this day.

Yusuke was able to get half way across the court yard before a young woman stood before him. She stood at least a half of a foot shorter than Yusuke but what made her slightly cute in Yusuke’s eyes were the fox like ears and the white fluffy fox tail. A small grin tugged at his lips. Yusuke disliked the opposite sex but he was polite when he did speak to them. Yusuke leaned his weight onto his right side and gave the woman before him a curious look wondering what she think she could do to get him back into the building. Not many of the fourth division were successful in capturing him and those who were couldn’t keep him there for more than a day or so. Yusuke disliked the feeling of the fourth division and will do everything in his power to escape from the place. Yusuke would rather spend his time in the 10th division recovering in the presents of the men and woman he did trust. Closing his eyes he sighed softly to himself. In that few seconds of being unaware the woman had grabbed onto him.
”You really ought to watch where you’re going handsome… and right now, you ought to be going back to your room. Off we go then!” spoke the kitsune lady in a honey like tone. Yusuke blinked slightly looking down at her in curiosity. Did she really think it would be that easy to just hold onto him and direct him back to his room? He wasn’t some old man who had lost his way in the hospital. Rolling his eyes mentally he shook his head before pulling his arm out of the girls grip and disappearing from her line of vision. Yusuke would then appear on the other side of the court yard. Even in his condition he was still able to run at almost his full sleep. Yusuke wasn’t going to waste any of his spiritual energy getting away from this place. Number one it wasn’t worth it and number two Yusuke didn’t really have enough to use to get away. Tilting his head to the side he smiled childishly at the woman before him.
”You must be new if you thought that would work on me kitsune-chan,” chuckled Yusuke as he looked from the woman and then up into the tree that he was standing under. It was a large beautiful tree that held many beautiful peaches. Blinking Yusuke felt his mouth water. He hadn’t eaten in a while nor has he had anything sweet in almost a week. Yusuke was surprised he hasn’t had a mental break down. Looking back to the woman before he jumped up and grabbed a hold of a branch that was only a foot or so higher than his own reached before using what strength he had to swing himself up onto the branch. Looking up into the branches of the tree he reached up and grabbed one of furry little babies. Smiling down at the peach in his hand he let his thumb brush gently over the velvet surface before bringing it to his mouth and taking a bite into it. The peach was perfectly sweet and the juices spewed out of it drizzling its way down Yusuke’s chin. Moaning softly to himself at the taste he chewed on the soft flesh before licking away the juices on his chin and then using his sleeve to wipe away the rest.
”These peaches are just amazing, best thing I have had in a while,” called Yusuke as he sat himself into a squat position studying the little fox before him as he took another bite from the peach wondering what her next move would be. Tilting his head to the side as he chewed away at his second bite waiting for a response.
Of course it couldn't be easy. It was her first day. She hadn't even reported for duty yet and she already had a troublemaker on her hands. I mean, sure, this kept things interesting, but it would be far more relaxing if she could at least clock in before she had to deal with this rascal. He seemed nice enough, but he definitely wasn't supposed to be wandering around. ”You must be new if you thought that would work on me kitsune-chan.” He called her Kitsune-chan, which wasn't exactly her favorite thing to be called. It's not that it was a mean name in and of itself, but it brought back memories of her past. Those words were enough to remind Amaya of the years of torment and name-calling she had endured as a child. As a result, her mood headed south.
Normally, Amaya was fairly tame and calm. She wouldn't hurt a fly... well... unless it was being annoying. She'd squash it then. Right now though, she wasn't super happy with how she'd been addressed. He could just have easily called her "miss" or "beautiful." Or, ya know, he could’ve just asked for her name. Still, the healer needed to handle this situation like a professional. As much as she wanted to just walk over and smack him, she probably shouldn’t do that on her first day at a new job. That didn’t mean she couldn’t just restrain him though! As a medic, she knew exactly what would and wouldn’t leave a mark. She could put him in some kind of lock, or just use a Bakudo on him. Yeah, that was the golden ticket!
Now there was just the issue of assessing his capabilities. Amaya’s energy sensory wasn’t exactly first-class, but she could tell his presence was a bit more powerful than hers was. Despite that, it wasn’t as bountiful of a presence. This guy was like a stick of dynamite. He probably wouldn’t last too long if he was forced to keep using reiatsu, but he would be dangerous while he had gas left in the tank. The kitsune had also gotten a chance to observe his speed a bit. He wasn’t so fast that she couldn’t track him. It was about the same speed that Meian had demonstrated… nothing she couldn’t handle if it came to that. As far as physical strength goes, she’d also gotten a chance to get a feel for that as well. She’d grabbed his arm earlier, and that had given her two indicators. He had been able to pull away, so he wasn’t super weak, but his muscles didn’t feel overwhelmingly powerful. All in all, it seemed like Amaya should be able to deal with him just fine on her own.
The man spoke again, but Amaya had already figured all that out before he even opened his mouth. With her talents for analysis in general, battle analysis, and healing, she was easily able to take stock of others in a split-second. ”These peaches are just amazing, best thing I have had in a while.” His words were still carefree. Hopefully that meant she wouldn’t need to get serious. The last thing she needed was to accidentally blow up part of the Fourth’s HQ on day one. Her talent would probably keep her from getting fired if she did something like that, but it would definitely put her on thin ice. She needed to try and wrap this up before it became an actual problem.
Only an instant after he finished speaking, she vanished from his sight. It was a technique all Shinigami were familiar with. Her Shunpo wasn’t fast enough that he couldn’t track her, but the only warning was a tiny shifting in her reiatsu that, unknown to her, couldn’t be sensed by this man. She arrived next to him a second later, though she was facing the opposite direction. He was squatting, but Amaya was still standing. Her right hand hung just a few inches away from his right shoulder. For a split second, her hand glowed red before the light shot over towards this man. It was a mere Geki, but it was mentally incanted. Considering his lax attitude, it was unlikely he expected the kitsune to resort to a Bakudo this early. If he failed to dodge it, he could simply shrug it off after a second or two through his superior reiatsu strength, but that mattered little.
The point of this spell had not been to restrain him. No, Amaya knew he could simply overpower a Bakudo from her with his greater spiritual strength. This was simply her sending a message that she was serious about him returning to his room. There was another thing she conveyed to him, but she felt the need to actually state this one. ”The name’s Amaya by the way. Not kitsune-chan.” He had obviously struck a sore note when he called her that. There was still a hint of honey in her voice, but there was a firm, scolding edge on it now. Amaya needed to try harder than simply dragging him away to get him back to his room, but he was going to need more than simply running away to escape a slightly ticked off medic.

Yusuke blinked as he noticed the woman disappear but before he could react properly to the situation he lost his balance and fell forward off the tree. This wasn’t a common sight to see but with his injuries his central balance was slightly off. But lucky for Yusuke this 10 foot fall would save him from a dangerous Bakudo blast from the now not nice nurse. Yusuke was able to roll and spin before landing on the ground with a gentle thud. But fallowing him suit was many branches that would come down on Yusuke’s head from the Bakudo blast. ”Well Amaya that wasn’t very nice. What the hell did this poor Momo Ki do to you,” called Yusuke as he climbed his way out of the branches brushing off his white now slightly damage yukata he wore. The full damage of what had happened to him was revealed. He was completely bandaged from the wrist to his shoulders and chest. His legs were slightly bandaged but were falling apart from the constant movement Yusuke was doing.
Of course Yusuke felt the strain of his wounds but he has felt worse pain than what he felt now. Stretching himself slightly he turned to look up at the woman. She seemed to letting off an angry aurar, which Yusuke couldn’t put his finger on why. Yusuke couldn’t figure out what he had said to make the woman so angry and to be that angry to shoot an attack like that at him. He hasn’t even actually tried to get away yet and she was already throwing Bakudo at him. She must have a short temper to snap this soon in the game. Yusuke just grinned to himself. The shorter the fuse the easier he can get himself out of this mess. Yusuke looked around his surrounds to see there was a small pound nearby which gave him relief since if it really got serious he could fend off the woman. Serious more or less meant zanpakutos would be used. Yusuke loved his zanpakuto but he didn’t want to use it because of the amount of damage the storm god caused in battle and the chance of blood shed would be high.
Not many people knew how blood thirsty Yusuke truly was and he got twitchy palms when he sees it either from his own doing or just someone bleeding. Yusuke has come to control this blood lust but sometimes he can only control it for so long. One of many reasons why Yusuke hated the fourth division. He had almost lost it once in that building but was able to escape before he did.
Amaya hopped down from the tree after realizing her Bakudo had missed. It didn’t really do any harm to anything, as Geki lacked any effect against inanimate objects or plants. Still, she was slightly annoyed that this wasn’t going to be easy. ”Tch.” That noise was all she had to say about it though. She was on the ground only a second after Yusuke, but she didn’t take that opening to try and bind him again. Instead, she was looking him over. She noticed the multitude of bandages wrapping him up, and realized he might be in worse shape than he was letting on. Sure, he looked fine and healthy where he wasn’t bandaged, but she really shouldn’t be trying too hard against an injured man.
”Well Amaya that wasn’t very nice. What the hell did this poor Momo Ki do to you?” With those words, the look of anger on her face was replaced with one of sympathy. She genuinely felt bad for him. He was just another poor soul that wanted to go do his duty, but he was stuck in a hospital trying to recover. She didn’t answer his question, but instead she simply made an offer. ”Alright, I’ll tell you what. It’s pretty clear you’re trying to sneak out, and it should be obvious enough that I know you’re still supposed to be getting healed. If you think you’re well enough to be back at work, then you should be in good enough shape to beat me up. If you can knock me out, you can be on your way… but if you can’t manage that in five minutes, then you have to go back to your room. How’s that sound, patient-kun?”
((I am proposing a special condition for this thread via that offer. It would put a 20 post limit, starting with your next post, on this fight. Both of our posts would count towards the timer, so it would be 10 posts for each of us. You’re welcome to refuse the condition, IC, OOC, or both. If you just refuse it OOC, but accept it IC, then it’s just a flavor detail and a reason for us to fight. This was just a way to try and actually get us a reason to actually fight.))

Yusuke let a deadly smirk cross his face at what the woman said next. ” ”Alright, I’ll tell you what. How’s that sound, patient-kun?”” Yusuke chuckled softly to himself at the title he was given. Patient-kun. This girl didn’t know who he was did she. ”Please just call me Yusuke,” smiled Yusuke as he stretched his arms above his head but not too hard to cause more damage to his stiches. Yusuke was a pretty good healer on his own but he knew if he didn’t get the medical attention he needed he would probably be long gone by now. Walking a couple yards away from the other he turned to face her.
Hopping in place he was testing the strength of his legs and his stiches. They were strong enough for him to run but he couldn’t fight at his best in fear of breaking the stitches. Looking at his arm he knew the bandages were only going to bed in the way. Before starting his first move he quickly unrolled the somewhat fresh bandages off both arms and his legs to reveal the stiches he had. He only had a handful all together but it would cause anyone to squirm. Yusuke had worst. Once Yusuke was so bad stitches couldn’t hold him together.
Once the bandages were fully removed he stretched forwards to get his back hamstrings. Once all stretched out Yusuke got into a simple fighting stance. Taking a few calming breaths he pushed forwards with one foot. Yusuke wasn’t going to use shunpo unless he had to with this woman. Yusuke was strong but his reserves were small very small. Yusuke would aim for her shoulder where he knew a group of nerves were hidden which would turn her arm to jello. Once in range he would bring his arm back and aim with his two first digits to the pressure point on her shoulder. Yusuke predicted she would be able to dodge the attack since his movements were slower than normal but Yusuke wasn’t one to give up too easily.
Well, it didn’t look like he was going to turn down the offer to fight, but Yusuke didn’t actually say he was accepting the terms. Oh well. It looks like he was just another battle hungry Shinigami. The man took a few paces back to give himself room and started stretching out… and removing his bandages. Lovely, he was injured, and pretty badly from the look of all the stitches he had in him. The medic would need to make sure she actually checked on his injuries before doing anything too rough to him. Ripping open his stitches definitely wouldn’t be a wise course of action. On that note, why did he even have stitches? Were the medics in the Fourth seriously so poorly trained that they couldn’t heal a cut properly? Amaya had a lot of work to do, and most of that was outside of this fight.
She waited for Yusuke to finish getting ready before she assumed her own stance. It wasn’t too hard to read that his stance was an offensive one. Amaya was skilled enough at martial arts to figure that out. She had figured he’d strike first anyway too. Rather than trying to outspeed him, she simply took a defensive stance. Her legs were about shoulder’s width apart with the left side forward. Her chest was open since her feet were facing towards Yusuke, but her arms were raised defensively. She didn’t make a fist though. Her hands were left open, as it was easier to block that way… at least in her opinion. Both fighters had their stances ready, and the first move was seized.
Yusuke bounded towards Amaya with a fairly impressive bit of speed. She was fairly used to fighting opponents that were faster than her, so she knew how to deal with it, but that didn’t make his speed any less impressive. He had closed the gap between them in a single second, maybe less. Still, that was enough time to react. His attack might have worked too if he wasn’t fighting someone like Amaya. She understood the body on a level that most people never would. Even if she wasn’t familiar with the exact style of martial arts someone was using, it wasn’t hard for her to intuitively grasp what their plan was based on how their body was moving. That was one of the biggest advantages of being a well-trained healer. On top of that, she was also proficient in battle analysis, had the instinct of a wild animal, and was trained in martial arts. Such a simple move just wouldn’t work on her.
As Yusuke cocked his arm back to strike, Amaya was already beginning her redirection of the attack. When his arm came forward, her left shoulder, the one he was aiming for, was already sliding backwards out of his reach. Just to be certain that his blow wouldn’t land, the kitsune’s left arm was raised against Yusuke’s arm. It wasn’t a full on block. No, the woman’s arm was merely acting as a guide for Yusuke’s momentum. The patient was further guided along by the second part of Amaya’s defense. She had taken a step forward with her right foot and gently pushed her opponent passed her. She completed the movement by pivoting on both feet so that she both swung Yusuke along and never stopped facing him. It was nothing more than a textbook redirection of force.
Or was it? Yusuke had felt an odd tingling in his side where Amaya’s hand had touched him. It was nothing to be alarmed about though. From how slight the sensation was, it may well have simply been static electricity that she’d built up. The truth was even less harmful than that. The medic had simply made use of the first Kaido: Diagnose. It had allowed her to get an exact measure of Yusuke’s condition. She now knew exactly where his wounds were, and what shape they were in. It didn’t seem like he was too poorly off, but she’d need to be careful to not hit any of them. Oh, and she really ought to just heal them up when all this was done anyway. None of those were serious enough that he shouldn’t have been fixed up already.
Anywho, Yusuke’s attack, and the rest of him, had been sent off passed the Kitsune. There were a number of ways he could follow up, but Amaya took a few steps back so that she didn’t get hit by an attack she couldn’t see coming. That was really important against faster opponents. If you stayed too close to them, they could just throw out two or three strikes in a row and overwhelm you. Even if you could keep up with one or two attacks, eventually their speed would simply make it too hard to defend yourself. That’s what she needed to avoid in this confrontation. If she could keep it to one or two blows at a time, she didn’t think there was all that much to worry about.
Reiatsu: 1400/1500 -25 for Diagnose
((So, now that you’ve read the post, I want to just break down a bit of why I did some of these things. Since this is your first PvP on-site, part of my job is to help you get used to the system here and know what works well. One of the big things I did in this post is that I was careful to define things like what Amaya’s stance was like, and what side of her body attacks were being launched at. Little details like this make combat easier to keep track of, and the more information you give about an exchange of blows, the easier it becomes to work with. The other major thing I did was explain why she was able to react in the way she was. Yes, Yusuke is twice as fast as she is, but Amaya’s fought, and kept up with, other opponents who were that fast before. Considering she’s got training in martial arts, analysis, healing, and good instinct, she can easily keep up with a single attack at a time. Any time you’re defending yourself against an attack, unless it’s coming from a character whose power is way below your own, try to give at least one or two reasons you’re able to defend yourself.))

As he had predicted this woman knew what she was doing. Yusuke could tell by the way she simply redirected rather than fully blocking or even dodging the attack all together that she was at least had basic hand to hand combat training. That was knew for the fourth division since most never dealt with combat. But when the woman touched him he didn’t notice the soft touch since he was took focus on what his next move was. Yusuke needed to get the shoulder it was the only way he could think at the time to get to point B. Yusuke watch carefully as the woman stepped back from him and as she retreated away from Yusuke.
Yusuke would give his surrounds a quick look around. The tree they were formally in was about twenty yards or so away now and other than the tree the area was pretty open. Blinking slight Yusuke quickly thought up his next move. Yusuke now knew the woman wasn’t going to try to seriously fight him but this wasn’t fact but something Yusuke had learned from former fourth division members and seem to support his idea from the gentle redirection block rather than a full on block. Yusuke ran at her again and jumped into the air. This leap was a high one, sending him at least 10 feet into the air enough room for him to come down with a powerful attack. Stretching out his right leg he would come down with a high kick aimed for her right shoulder. The attack would use the back of his heal. But half way down he would force himself forward which would cause him to do a one leg up summer salt in midair. He would then come flying to the ground on his right foot and then push off with his left and went at her with amazing speed. He would place his right foot at an angle so his back was slightly facing the fox girl. He would then throw a knife hand at her throat.
((So, before I get into this post, just want to say good job on stepping up the little details a bit. That post was pretty easy to follow, and establishing distance and terrain is always good. Recommendation for the next one is to try writing in the past tense. On this site, we generally use past-tense for most things. The only time future tense is really encouraged is for conditional statements, and present tense is basically never used outside of dialogue. For example: “If the attack landed, then it would break her shoulder.” is totally kosher, but attacks and such should generally be past tense on this site. Not a huge deal, but it’s how things are usually done here. Also, just so you know, colored text that’s in italics is generally thoughts. I used orangered text for Amaya’s thoughts in this post.))
There was a second or two before the fight resumed. Yusuke had taken a moment to look around and plan, and that was all Amaya needed to get a good breath in. If the pace stayed like this, she’d have no problem keeping up. While Yusuke didn’t know it, Amaya was fighting him fairly seriously. She wasn’t aiming for lethal blows or anything, but she always liked to get a good feel for her opponents before doing anything too dangerous. That was doubly true if they were an ally. Had Yusuke been someone she was actually trying to kill… she probably just would have used Gachan and ended the fight right there. Wait… she totally could have done that still! Bakudo was supposed to be her major plan. Was she actually enjoying the fight? No, that couldn’t be the case. She was a medic, not a fighter.
But right now, she needed to play the role of a fighter, for that was the bargain she had struck with him. After those few steps backwards, her right foot had become the front foot, but her stance was otherwise unchanged from before. She was ready when Yusuke charged at her, but she could’ve dodged this attack even if she had been sleeping. He launched himself high into the air and went for a front flip axe kick. It was a showy attack both in terms of the flip and the height. It definitely looked cool, but jump attacks were easy to read. In the world of the living, where air ground worked, they were trickier, but in Soul Society, reading an attack like that was easy.
The defense was a simple one in this case: just two more steps backwards. Even with such a showy attack though, Amaya had to hustle to get out of the way of it. Yusuke’s speed was definitely going to be a pain, but that was life. Unfortunately, his next attack was far harder to react to. There was nothing showy about a step forward and a knifehand, and that meant it was a bit trickier to deal with. Still, Amaya had the reaction times of a fox, and she was just as cunning as that animal to boot. As the attack came, she was already raising a block. Adjusting where exactly that block went was easy enough, especially since her neck was already well protected in her fighting stance.
For the second attack, the defense was even simpler. She actually didn't even need that block she had started to instinctively raise. All it took was a single well timed step and the knifehand sailed harmlessly through the air where she had been. One of the lessons Amaya had learned back in the academy had been applied here. Most people simply didn’t know how to deal with opponents that invaded their space, and that was looking to be the case with Yusuke as well. Thanks for that one Meian! Her left foot had slid behind her fellow Shinigami’s back, and her right was simply dragged along for the ride. But Amaya wasn’t satisfied with just a dodge. If she wanted to get her message across, she might need to give this guy a few more bruises to heal from. It was time to attack!
As she slid behind him, her left hand struck out towards his spine. It was a simple palm strike, and it wasn’t done at quite her full strength. Even if the medic didn’t want to admit it, she was holding back a bit. There were a few ways Yusuke could dodge this strike, but if he didn’t, then he would simply feel a dull thud on his back when the blow landed. It was such a half-hearted strike that it wouldn’t do any lasting damage. Unfortunately for this man, that was the nice part of Amaya’s attack. Amaya’s right foot continued to slide backwards until she was once again in a fighting stance with her left leg in front. From there, she launched off towards Yusuke with a Jump #3 Front Kick. This one was aimed for his head, and if it landed, well… jump kicks were a lot harder to hold back!
((Jump #3 Front Kick Reference. And no, references like that aren’t mandatory, I was just too lazy to describe the kick.))

Yusuke watched as she slid up behind him. Yusuke quickly switched his stance he would drag his right foot gracefully across the ground so now he was facing her. Her palm attack came at his chest and Yusuke blocked it simple push to her arm sending the attack at his shoulder. It was a weak hit but gave Yusuke the closeness he wanted. Her arm was now crossed across her chest. Yusuke stepped forward with his right foot to strengthen but he would quickly change it again as he stepped back with his left foot. Now his leg was placed slightly behind him giving him the space he needed. Yusuke grabbed Amaya’s wrist with his right hand.
Yusuke would place his fingers against her palm with his thumbs placed at the top of her hand and with a simple step back with his right foot he twisted her hand clockwise and caused her to bend forward. Yusuke now had two hands on her with his fingers spread across her wrist and his thumbs pressed harshly into the palm of her hand. Yusuke would give a few gentle twists. But this attack would only happen in a matter of a minute. Yusuke’s movements would be fast at about 85% of his normal speed. 750/750
Maybe, just maybe, this guy wasn’t as careless as Amaya thought he was. She was often overconfident in her skills, and it looked like that was going to bite her a little bit right here. Well, it looked like that to an unknowing observer at least. Yusuke was fast enough to keep up with whatever close combat techniques Amaya tried it would seem. His defense was easily able to deal with the palm strike that the kitsune had planned, and the kick never came to be as a result. Even if the punch had only been blocked, she still would’ve been too close to kick. For that one brief moment, Yusuke had a clear advantage. It was a real shame he went and wasted it on something like a wrist lock.
Normally a wrist lock was a fairly effective tactic. If the opponent wasn’t way stronger than you were, and they lacked pain tolerance, then it could successfully disable them. If they had enough pain tolerance to resist a bit, you could still just kick them in the face. Unfortunately for Yusuke, he wasn’t fighting just a simple martial artist. As had been shown earlier, it was fairly hard for Amaya to land a Bakudo against such a speedy opponent. That speed was no longer a factor. The kitsune was a master of Geki and proficient at using Kido in general. Even with the pain she was under from the wrist lock, she was still able to mentally cast a spell as basic as Geki fairly easily. Since there was already direct contact, she didn’t even have to aim. Worse still for Yusuke, since the spell was mentally cast and he lacked energy sensory, predicting it was completely impossible.
Geki was a fairly weak Bakudo. That was the only real saving grace for this patient. With his superior reiatsu strength, it would only take a second or two for Yusuke to break out of it. Still, that second was enough time for Amaya to take back an advantageous position. As soon as she cast the binding spell on her opponent, she immediately used her superior physical strength to pull her hand out of his grip. She then turned to face him, winked, and hopped backwards about 15 feet. It was pretty clear he was being toyed with by this point. Maybe that would be enough to get him to actually draw his sword? Some people were definitely easy enough to anger that they would, but the kitsune didn't know Yusuke well enough to predict that. Still, Amaya was able to match him in martial arts, but swordplay or his release could potentially give him an advantage over her.
Reiatsu: 1375/1500 -25 for Geki
((With that last one, both past tense and detail were good, but it lost sight of the big picture a little bit. Sometimes, when you explain a complicated movement, it doesn't hurt to go back and throw in a quick summary. In this case, you could've added a sentence or two like "Yusuke was behind her, holding her in a wrist lock. This was surely a sticky situation for Amaya!" Summaries like that can clarify your combat actions a little bit more. Having details is good, yes, but sometimes we get so caught up in the details of how we did an action that we don't clearly state what the action itself is, and that can get just as confusing.))

Yusuke felt the familiar locking of his body. Yusuke had felt this type of thing many times before in his youth when he was training. He lacked control as a young shinigami so many of his upper classmen would use this type of kido on him. Before it would have kept him locked up in the position he was in now but Yusuke was stronger now and he could throw with Geki off with ease. Closing his eyes he focused on himself trying to find his balance before he would disable the Geki with his Reiatsu Strength. The Geki would eventually break under the Reiatsu pressure releasing Yusuke from the body lock the girl had put him in.
”It’s been a long time since anyone put me in a Geki,” chuckled Yusuke as he released the lock and pushed her forward. Yusuke wasn’t sure if the girl stumbled or not or even fallen from the push but he didn’t care at the moment as he retreated back a few paces. Yusuke quickly looked over his wounds checking for any problems before stretched his arms above his head. Yusuke was being out class by this girl and he was a big enough man to admit it. Yusuke hadn’t fought another shinigami like this in years since most people just let him be. Yusuke normally didn’t train often with others like himself since he preferred to do it by himself or people from his own division. Taking a deep breath he brought his right foot back placing only the balls of his feet on the earthy ground. Yusuke could feel the coolness of the dirt as it enveloped his toes as he sunk his foot deeper into the earth.
Taking one last breath Yusuke would push himself forward at a medium pace at the girl. He was going to be a tad more serious now. Yusuke was position both his hands so the weapon of choise would be his pointer and middle finger with his thumb tucked underneath them. He would aim his first attack at her right shoulder but would come back with his left hand and would aim for the space where her collar bones connected. If both those attacks were blocked Yusuke would drop to the ground and send a sweep kick at her legs to hopefully cause her to fall. So Yusuke has tried to disable her right arm and tried to disarmer her all together with a hit to the throat and if those attacks failed Yusuke would aim for her lower legs in turn to cause her to fall to the ground. 750/750
It looked like there was no rest for the wicked. Well, no, Amaya wasn’t really wicked or anything, but Yusuke wasn’t giving her too much time to catch her breath. Still, she had enough time to reflect on his capabilities thus far. He wasn’t a bad martial artist or anything, and he seemed to be in good enough shape to fight decently well. Yes, she had managed to deal with every one of his attacks so far rather handily, but she’d also seen that he wasn’t really slowing down much because of his injuries. That just confirmed her initial diagnosis that they weren’t anything major. So, if he wasn’t really injured all that badly, why were they still fighting? It seems that was only because the medic hadn’t stopped it yet!
Having realized that much, the kitsune decided it might as well be time to put this bout to an end. As Yusuke got near her for his next strike, he found himself instantly stopped in his tracks. An invisible wave of force had slammed into him. Luckily, it wasn’t strong enough to send him flying. This was none other than the 53rd Hado, Area Thrust. Since this was Amaya, it was mentally cast of course. There was no speech to reveal she was preparing an attack, nor was Yusuke able to sense the shifting energy within her. There wasn’t really anything Yusuke could do it avoid it, but all it did was stop his attack in its tracks anyway. It definitely could’ve gone worse if Amaya was a bit stronger.
With Yusuke’s attack halted, Amaya spoke to him. ”I think that’s enough to prove you’re mostly healed.” It was true too. He wasn’t really fit for frontline duty just yet, but Amaya could patch up the last few wounds on him easily enough. ”Why don’t you just give me five minutes to fix up the last of your wounds, and we can send you on your way? They really don’t look too bad.” And so the offer was on the table. Yusuke could end the fight right now if he wanted to, and all it would cost him is a few minutes of sitting still so he could get healed up. That wasn’t asking too much now was it?
((This is an example of a cinematic post. It bends the rules a little bit to do things like make your character look cooler or advance the plot. In this case, I’m ignoring that the technique I use in this post should normally have no effect against someone of superior reiatsu strength. Instead, I’m giving it a lesser effect. It normally sends people flying, but here it merely stopped you in your tracks. I went this route because, honestly, there’s not a great IC way to justify Amaya wanting to continue the fight at this point. It pretty much wraps up the thread . You can do a conclusion post to talk about your character leaving the scene… or you could also go crazy and keep attacking. That choice is yours.))
