This is a friendly fight between Raygin Sakubara and Hokori Kuchiki. Fight is taking place on a deserted training field somewhere in the Seiretei.
Any abilities or techniques are allowed, but items are banned. Items do not include Zanpakuto, Zan are allowed.
Fight is over when one person cannot fight anymore, or surrenders.
Fight is NDE and rated R if something goes wrong. This fight is just a friendly spar between Vice Captains and Hokori requested the challenge for reasons only he knows.
The training field is just...a field. No rocks, no trees, no bushes. Just grass. Field is two miles long and wide, and only the edge are some buildings.
”Ooooooooooooooh! I really wanna eat this one. No wait, this also looks good. But this Ginger Cake actually looks pretty good. Oh but this seared salmon also looks really good. All this food looks really really good. I wanna eat it. Eat it all!” Raygin drooled as he looked through a food magazine. He sat at his desk in the Squad 3 Barracks being lazy since he finished all of his work for once. He had managed to find a magazine of nothing but food. Everything in the magazine looked extremely nice and good tasting. This also made Raygin think he was hungry, despite eating a entire platter of sushi not a half hour ago. ”Oh! Turducken? I wanna eat a turkey in a duck in a chicken! It sounds like a ADVENTURE!”
Raygin put the magazine down quickly and stood on his desk, fire in his eyes. ”I will find myself a turducken and devour it down to the bones!” Raygin shouted challengingly as he laughed manically. He planed to head to the nearest kitchen and demand the chef make him turducken. But before he could do anything a Hell Butterfly flew through the doorway and straight to Raygin. The message it relayed to the Vice Captain was he was being challenged to a friendly match between Vice Captains. Raygin blinked before adopting a uncomfortable face. ”Who would want to fight me? “ Raygin questioned both himself and the butterfly.
The Jigokucho told him the message was from Hokori Kuchiki, the Vice Captain of Squad 12. ”Wait…Kuchiki? Why would a Kuchiki want to fight me…aren’t they supposed to be really uptight and stingy?” Raygin asked outloud. The whole royal family thing is overrated. Kuchiki…Kawada…basically the same. One thinks its better than the other. They could be eating delicious food but instead they fight like kids. Raygin thought to himself as he scratched his head. ”Alright little one, let Mr. Hokori know I will accept his challenge. Tell him to meet me at the abandoned training field. The two mile one.” Raygin told the butterfly before it fluttered off.
Soon after the Jigokucho left with his reply, Raygin headed towards the field. He was still wondering why he was being challenged in the first place. If Mr. Hokori wanted a challenge then he should have asked Hibiki for a fight or someone else. Rays battle record wasn’t the best in the Gotei 13, and there were worse fighters, but Hokori could have asked someone else to fight. Raygin walked down one of the alleys that made up the Seireitei as he headed for his destination. When he finally reached his destination the entrance was shabby and deteriorating. ”How come this place stopped being used? I use it all the time. There isn’t anything wrong with it? Sure, it’s a little worn down building wise but the field is completely fine.” Raygin said as he looked at the worn oak wood.
The Vice Captain walked into the main lobby, or whatever it was, and headed out onto the field. Today he decided to wear a altered form of his basic robes. His shirt lacked sleeves completely and the pants were not poofy. Rather they were more like pants, not poofy robes. Raygin also had a headband wrapped around his forehead for this fight to keep sweat out of his eyes. Also it was to cover the burn scar on his forehead. It was no secret Raygin was defeated by Kaen, but it was also no secret his own Zanpakuto had managed to defeat Kaens Bankai summoned Dragon. Raygin took some pride in that, since after all it was Kaens bankai. Not many Shikai were capable of defeating a Bankai.
Raygin stopped his walk in the center of the field and smiled. Sure, he expected to once again lose this fight but he would at least get some fun out of it. The sky was clear and a nice shade of blue. Not a single cloud in the sky. It was a short time past noon so the sun was still high in the sky. Raygin bent his back backwards in a stretch. Oh it felt good. It was one of those mini orgasm stretches like the ones you have in the morning or when you have been lying around for a long time. Ray grit his teeth as he bent back a bit more and heard a decent series of crack travel through his spine. ”Ah yeah! That felt good.” Raygin said with a grin.
He straightened his back as he looked around at the large field. It was about two miles long and wide. Ray was familiar with this field since he had often trained here with his Zanpakuto. The ground had various cuts in it; some in straight lines and others were curved. Additionally there were some holes in the surrounding buildings. Those had been where the Vice Captains Zanpakuto had punched through them. Ray smiled as the memories of his training sessions filled his mind. His right arm also carried the signs of training in the form of various scars. Some were small and others were large. Honestly, his arm looked like it had been attacked by a bunch of sharp things.
Suddenly Raygin thought of something. He had no idea who Hokori was! Other than his last name, he did not know anything about this guy. This made Raygin smile and just face palm himself. I really should have tried learning about my fellow Vice Captains. This probably is not going to end well. Hah! It wont end well. He is a Kuchiki after all. The royal families are usually really good. Selective breeding and all… Raygin thought as he chuckled to himself. He then felt a presence entering his Energy Sensory perimeter. He assumed this was Hokori so Raygin turned to face the source. ”Helloooooo! Names Raygin Sakubara! It’s nice to meet you Mr. Hokori.” Raygin said with a smile.

Hokori walked into the field, with a faint smirk played upon his lips. A question, if Ray and Hokori had never met before. Why would Hokori choose an advantageous battleground for the other Vice-Captain? Simple, he'd been spying on Raygin. He was the Vice-Captain of Research and Development, and after hearing about the devestation that he was able to negate and destroy a bankai apparition with only a shikai. Hokori was severely impressed, not many could pull of such a feat of strength. Hokori decided to investigate this matter for himself. It was not a matter of hazing or anything of the sort it was information gathering. There was a storm coming, and Hokori was on the look out for the Kuchiki squads. Ray may not have known it, but he served a Kuchiki. So here they were. Ever since his defeat and recovery against Kuroi Naito, he was weak and his most advanced and complex sword styles were out of his grasp.
He was upset, the Rosenblood's Blood aspect and his very own self created Lily Blade style were no longer within his grasp. He needed to get back into peak physical form and this was one way to do it. Thank goodness that his Razor lotus was still within his grasp. He walked in, taking note of the field and of Raygin. The Vice-Captain looked like he'd seen his share of battles himself. Hokori respected that, however he also read in the report that he was very immature and not very serious when it came to up front confrontation. The Vice-Captain faced his opponent, slipping into a crouch. "You serve my Cousin, now we test to see if you can fight the legions of the Hidden Empire. If you cannot even fight on par with me, then you will surely die." Hokori was not joking, the Vandenriech were going to invade in the future and the Soul Society needed to be ready. If they weren't they were going to die.
Raygin looked at the man called Hokori with a few blinks. The commoner expected Hokori to look more…royal. To Raygin, the man before looked more like a average person than someone who was blessed at birth and didn’t have to work for anything. Still, the man before him was a Kuchiki and Kuchiki were supposed to be the Grade A, special bred Shinigami. At least that’s what Raygin had heard. He would know test himself against this man.
“You serve my Cousin, now we test to see if you can fight the legions of the Hidden Empire. If you cannot even fight on par with me, then you will surely die."
Wait, my Captain is a Kuchiki? Wait…whats the Hidden Empire? How is there a Empire that is hidden? Raygin thought to himself as he eyed Hokori. ”That’s not really much of a hello. When someone says hello, you’re supposed to say it back, not make a cryptic message.” Raygin told him as he placed his hand on his swords hilt. Raygin knew this fight was going to be a challenge, but he had least needed to put on a good show.
Just looking at this Vice Captain though, Raygin knew there was a massive difference between these two. Experience, power, knowledge, attitude, it was all very different for the two. Hokori got into a crouching position, making Raygin get into his own position. A crouch could mean many things. A leap, a dash, a Shunpo. The possibilities were endless. But how was Ray gonna fight Hokori. He could sense that Hokori had far stronger Reiatsu than him. Cutback would be a issue if Raygin tried to get close. So, how could Ray fight against Hokori and actually have a chance of winning? Releasing his Zanpakuto was always a option of course, but this early in a fight?
”So, before we actually fight I wanted to ask you a few things. Three things in fact. One, what is the Hidden Empire? Second, my captain is actually a Kuchiki? And third, how badly am I going to be beaten cus I aint expecting much success in this fight.” Raygin said with a smile. As he asked his questions he was getting the muscles in his legs ready. Raygin drew his sword with his left hand as he sprinted at Hokori. Once close enough he slashed at his right arm with the back of his sword. After that swing Raygin quickly jumped back away from Hokori to get some distance. That was just a test swing to see what Hokori would do.

Bad move, as an opener Raygin seemed to believe that he wouldn't have the ability to cut the Vice-Captain and he decided to do the safe route and attack him with a dulled weapon for internal damage. Hokori wasn't afraid, in fact he chuckled internally. His face betrayed no outer emotion other than his eyes taking in the information. He didn't draw his sword. He just blocked with his elbow, reiastu flooded his arm and the wind itself seemed to turn. In reality it was just his own reiastu spinning wildly through his joints. Two inches before the blade made contact, there was a metallic groaning and a spiderweb like cracking sound. When Raygin pulled his blade away, if he bothered to look. His sword was literally fractured like glass. Spiderweb cracks ran along the blade, he was lucky that Hokori had not pumped his entire superior Reiastu strength into the defense or his blade would have simply shattered. Hokori watched Raygin jump back, he stood straight and let out a deep breath.
"To answer your first question, tell me about Quincy. What do you know about them? Do you know how to kill them? How they'll kill you? Do you know what new powers they possess? Do you know about their ability of Blut, or of their release "Vollstandig?" Do you know that they plan to destroy us?" Hokori pushed his glasses up further onto his nose, rotating his sword arm. " Second, Ask your captain. You can ask him questions, can't you? Third, that depends on how much you try to kill me. You're going to have to come at me with an intent to kill, otherwise I'm going to put you down."
Hokori then used his speed that was almost like that of a cheetah and then stepped off with a shunpo, gliding past the other Vice-Captain. With Ray's senses, he wouldn't be able to follow such a movement. However his instincts would probably be able to tell him something was wrong. He kicked out, putting his foot into the back of Ray's right knee. Dropping him down to a knee, Hokori then used a chop to Raygin's nect and collarbone. He enjoyed fighting at his full speed without his speed hana. It was refreshing. How would Raygin react to this series of attacks. Hokori was just warming up, so how would Ragin warm up himself?

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
”Quincy? Well, I know that they are basically the opposite of us Shinigami. Our power comes from our souls in the form of our Zanpakuto which means our power comes from inside. Quincy’s powers come from outside sources. They absorb reiatsu and form bows as their weapons. Also, when we kill Hollows the souls are purified and sent to the Rukongai. When a Quincy kills a Hollow it is destroyed. That means Quincy can destroy the entire world if they aren’t stopped.” Raygin took a breath before resuming to answer Hokoris question. ”Killing them? It isn’t something I enjoy thinking about. But I assume that they are basically the same, physically, as a normal human being. That means killing them shouldn’t be that hard…IF you hit them. I am not saying they are not difficult opponents, but I am saying their defenses should only be as strong as regular humans.” Raygin said to Hokori.
But then Ray blinked with confusion. ”No. No, I am unaware of what Blut or Vollstandig is. Could you please tell me what they are? And I assumed they would not take kindly to us, so the fact they want to destroy us isn’t that surprising. You wont just give me the answer? Gonna make me have to ask my Captain himself?” Raygin said with a chuckle and a grin. Then Hokori said his last line. ”Intent to kill? Well, this fight might actually take a long time.” Raygin sighed. Ray really didn’t like fighting to kill. But then Hokori made his move.
Ray’s Senses might not have been more than average, but a good enough Instinct as well as being good at analyzing in battle, meant Raygin could tell Hokoris Shunpo was going to be bringing the Kuchiki to Raygin. So, Raygin decided to use his own Shunpo as soon as Hokori used his. Raygin could tell the Shunpo was coming because he could sense the change in Reiatsu. With a burst of Reiatsu in his feet Raygin activated Shunpo as Hokori appeared behind him, sending Raygin thirty three feet away from Hokori. Raygin reappeared and blinked a few times. He managed to avoid Hokoris Hakuda though he really didn’t need to. Raygin was unaware of the difference in their strengths, and that Raygin was actually physically stronger than Hokori.
The Vice Captain looked down at his damaged Zanpakuto then back up to Hokori. His sword was cracked all along its length, like a spider went to town on it. Alright…well that sucks. Sword is next to useless without releasing. But, honestly what was it he just did? He used his reiatsu to block my swing and damage my sword. That…really really sucks. Not only that, but he is fast. Like, seriously fast. Raygin shook his sword gently as he tried to come up with a plan. Raygin just smiled and held his sword arm out to his side at elbow level. Hokori might not know what Raygin was doing, he might assume that the Vice Captain was forfeiting or doing something else. Guess I got no choice. I don’t wanna break my Zanpakuto Raygin thought as he then let go of his weapon.
Rather than fall, the Zanpakuto hovered in front of Raygins hand. ”Rip through the sky and cut the wind! Howl, Zeroshiki!” Raygin ordered. His hovering Zanpakuto glowed as it began to drastically change its shape. The hilt became a circle as the blade mutated into a brand new shape. The circle seemed to act as a fixed point as the blade began to rotate around it. The blade split into two extra blades as the weapon became a disc that glowed and brought in the wind. Raygin grabbed into the light and pulled out his new weapon. The infamous boomerang that was known for its destructive power, three odd shaped meteer long blades each sporting a grabbing hook. Raygin sent his reiatsu into his weapon. The markings on each of Zeroshikis blades glowed slightly as the weapon borrowed Raygins reiatsu.
Raygin blasted off with a Shunpo as he appeared behind Hokori. He whipped his arm towards him and released Zeroshiki at him, but as it left his hand Raygin said ”Sho”. The very first Hado was a instant effect kind of Kido. It would release a blast of force at whatever Raygin pointed at. And that target was Zeroshiki. With a Reiatsu Strength of 300, Raygins Zanpakuto gained a sudden speed of 390 at point blank range. But that would be his weapons speed, not the power. Oh no, see there was a reason Zeroshiki was considered a very destructive weapon. It’s power was based on how much of Raygins reiatsu was in it. At this time the weapon was at 20% of its power, equaling 200 Strength. Sure, 200 Strength was strong enough to do some damage. But that’s not why Zeroshiki was dangerous. See, when this boomerang was thrown, Zeroshikis power triples. So Zeroshiki didn’t have 200 Strength, no, it had a Strength of 600. This was more than enough power to break Hokoris body. If the Kuchiki was hit by this attack the fight would be over. But, if he did somehow dodge it then Zeroshiki would go tearing through the ground before doing what all boomerangs do and returning to Raygins current location. The boomerang always homed in on Raygin, so as long as it flew Raygin knew that the weapon would return to him.

Pathetic..." Hokori didn't even bat an eyelash Raygin was trying to use a tactic that he himself employed. He let Raygin get behind him, and even release the shikai. Hokori then pulled his blade from his sheath and pointed the blade straight at both the shikai that was flying right at him, and Raygin. He'd already released his Shikai into the air, so he wouldn't realize that this was a bad move. He didn't want to remove his sword from his sheath yet, but it was a catalyst for the technique he wanted to use. The blade turned an icy blue coated in reiastu. Hokori let his power flow and spoke. "Hado 83. Sekkenkooriboufuu." His blade exploded in a torrent of ice, the tidal wave of ice was enormous and served a purpose. Zeroshiki was powerful and fast, but this was a potent kidou. Another factor was Hokori's Reiastu strength was higher than double that of the shikai and of Raygin himself.
This kidou's purpose was clear after only a few moments, the kidou itself swallowed Raygin's Shikai completely stopping its movement and its flight in its tracks. It then crashed over spilling out over the land, covering it in uneven spiky and extremely slippery conditions in front of Hokori. He sheathed his blade as his kidou ended, Hokori dropped his blade stepping off with a shunpo. He sped forward towards Ray, Hokori knew that this kind of technique caused him to have really only one place to go. Up. Hokori used that to his advantage. He stepped off with a shunpo when he saw Ray emerge from the Ice storm. He couldn't outrun something like this. Hokori caught Ray around the neck clothes-lining him causing him fly at the ground that was now coated in uneven cold and extremely dangerous ice. Hokori landed and stepped off with a shunpo landing back by his blade.
He grabbed it, sheathing it. He then turned and used shunpo once more. He appeared above where Raygin was bringing his foot down in an axe drop kick. It was something indeed to watch Hokori fight with his hakuda as it didn't happen very often. He hadn't even drawn his blade for the purpose of using it for a Kidou. The wind was screaming around his hands, elbows, knees and feet. Raygin would of course be smart enough to realize this, but if he didn't react after being struck in such a manner. He'd have his shoulder and collarbone shredded. Hokori's eyes then glinted he used the momentum of the Axe dropkick and his acrobatics to flip himself and land. Whether the hit was a success didn't matter. Landing and righting himself he prepared for Ray. How would ray react now?

"You look like an extraordinary specimen, I look forward to breaking you."
Pathetic indeed. Hokori tried to do something that was far beyond his capabilities and it cost him dearly. As Zeroshiki began to strike Hokori, Raygin paid the reiatsu cost of his technique. Zeroshiki suddenly glowed as the blades grew an additional two meters. The weapon was now far larger than Hokori as it effortlessly cut through his body. All the way from his left collar bone to his right waist, so basically Zeroshiki just diagonally bisected Hokori. Nagaikiba could be activated both mentally and when the weapon was thrown, so Hokori would have had no idea that his technique was even going to be activated. In fact, Hokori would have been unable to actually do anything. He had attempted to attack with a high level Kido without even using the incantation. Hokori also believed he was capable of casting such a high level Kido within such an extremely short amount of time without any sort of preparation. In fact, Hokori did not even have time to attempt any sort of high level Kido.
Raygin stood over Hokori’s broken body with a look of absolute shock. How…how could someone actually be so arrogant! He stood there and took it…without even doing anything! He didn’t even dodge…or try to do it. Does he think he is untouchable? Raygin thought in shock. Hokori did not try to dodge, he tried to do an impossible attack that ended up leading to his defeat. Since Hokori had decided to attack, he could not attempt some sort of defense because he had been focusing reiatsu into that Kido spell. He had not used Shunpo either. Raygin honestly did not expect anything like this. Most people tried to dodge his attack, not try to overcome it with one of their own and fail miserably. Besides, it was almost impossible to block Zeroshiki under normal circumstances. Hokoris arrogance lead to his defeat.
”You done goofed Hokori. But…wait right there I will get you a medic!” Raygin exclaimed as he ran off. Raygin would find Hibiki and attempt to get Hokori his medical attention. Seriously, the Kuchiki was basically…a torso without arms at this point. Raygin doubted Hokori was anything like Frieza and would float in the air and start attacking him. Things like that just did not happen. under normal circumstances that is. Raygin grit his teeth as he used a Shunpo to leave the training field to go find Hokori a doctor. Wait a second....I won! I beat that Kuchiki! I beat a Kuchiki! "I actually won a fight for once!" Raygin cheered as he stopped running and started dancing up and down. He hummed to himself and also began to dance when suddenly "THAT'S RIGHT HE IS DYING!" Raygin shouted as he suddenly began sprinting again. "Hibiki! Come fix this guy!!" Raygin screamed randomly as he tried to find a medic. Remaining Reiatsu: 1450 / 2000 -25 for Nagaikiba
Shikai post: 2 / 10 Zeroshiki power: 200 (600) Reiatsu Strength -Nagaikiba activated, 3 meter long blades. Speed: 390 when it was thrown. Probably about...560. Are you actually looking at this?
This is why this works. As I stated in the above post, Hokori practically ignored Zeroshiki and attempted to do an attack that was…well impossible for him to do. Here are the following reasons. 1) Hokori has absolutely 0 points in any sort of Kido Skill. This means that he is required to do the maximum time required to use the Kido. 2) Considering this is a high level Kido, it is going to require time to prepare, time Hokori did not have. Raygin threw Zeroshiki, from behind, at point-blank range. Not only that, he caused a 300 instant increase in his weapons speed with Zeroshiki. 390 might not be a major problem to Hokori, but when a weapon is not even a inch from hitting you, and suddenly gets a speed increase of that high, it is like having a gun being poked into your back and being fired. 3) Hokori did not have time to do anything in that post. He did not have time to say “pathetic” draw his sword, turn, point it at Raygin, say his Kido, somehow charge it to the point of being ready and firing. It’s impossible. The instant Kido fire, impossible. Turning around and drawing his sword, impossible. Even just saying “pathetic” would have not been possible. All Hokori could have done was use a Shunpo as soon as Raygin did, since apparently this is a strategy Hokori himself implements.
Again, to restate what has been both read and said already, Ray shunpo’d directly behind Hokori, did not even pause and threw his weapon at him, then increased it’s speed with Sho. Hokori, literally, could not have done anything if he hadn’t attempted a dodge before this. Hokori did not try to initiate any sort of technique, other than his Kido. This is a fair and justifiable defeat, unless some substantial evidence can be given that would somehow allow Hokori (who was charging a Kido as he was bisected) to be able to escape and continue fighting.
