This is a "friendly" match between Vice Captains Raygin and Kubi. Originally, Raygin did not want to fight. He stated he had other work he needed to do but Kubi insisted. So, Raygin finally complied. The fight takes place in the training grounds. Level terrain, except for the rocks that jut out of the ground.
"Well, shit. Isn't this place kind of fucking barren." It was the crack of dawn, that early morning when the moon was thinking about going down, and the sun was almost rising. So early that not even the rooster was up yet. Mist still clung to the floor, parted by a puff of wind with every foot the Vice Captain sets down. So early that even the bats were grumpy. And already, Kubi Tsure was up, his customary grin on his face and his arms crossed, ready for a battle with the Vice Captain of Squad 3. And Kubi was pretty damn excited.
Kubi stripped himself of his shirt, his very well-defined torso left to the cool air. And then, he began to warm up; jogging, push-ups, everything he basically could. At one point, he punched a boulder and it shattered into infinitesimal pieces. As soon as he heard someone approach, he stopped and spun around, the grin stretching his olive skin once more. "About fuckin' time you showed up!"
What Kubi saw was probably not what he was expected. The two foot tall chubby cheeked version of Raygin came running into the battle area, with a brownie in his hand. The chibi sat down and put the chocolate bread of goodness in his mouth and chewed. Well, it was a slow chew. All one could hear was “nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom” from the Vice Captain. Yeah, that thing was the Vice Captain Raygin Sakubara using his infamous Kido transformation. Nowadays, since the day he perfected that spell, it was more common to see Raygin in this form than to see him in his actual form. He had been chibi for over three days now, a new record for him. He sat right there, eating a brownie, looking right at Kubi before swallowing his piece and pulling another one seemingly out of nowhere. “Would you like some a brownie? Kubi?” Raygin asked and held the piece out.
Where did he get the brownie? Another wonder of Raygin. He would be found, at times, with things. Paddleballs, yoyos, toy dinosaurs, cardboard cutouts, knives, cushions, bottle caps, and other human world things would be found in his room or in his possession. Sometimes he even had human world food. When asked where he got such things all he would reply with was “muffin button” when asked what that was he would play dumb and simply ask what over and over again. This made this Vice Captain infamous for being a hyperactive, trolling, joyful, friendly, confusing, idiot that always tried to bring a smile to peoples faces.
“Sorry I was late Kubi, I had some paper work I needed to finish for the Captain. He pushes all of his work on me.” Raygin snapped his fingers and returned to his normal form in a cloud of grey smoke. He stood up and stretched. “Well, my name is Raygin Sakubara by the way. And your name is Kubi, if I am right. I would have rather’d we had just hung out, went swimming, played minecraft, or done anything but this. But if you want to fight so badly, I don’t mind going a few rounds with you. Just…don’t kill me alright.” Raygin asked with a big grin on his face.
He hummed to himself as he placed his hand on his Zanpakuto. He took an offensive position, one that would allow for quick drawing and a easy kick for speed if he needed it. He looked at Kubi before dashing at him at his max speed. But instead of hitting Kubi he ran past him and stopped. “Oh look at that!” Raygin commented as he saw a bright flower and looked at it with such wonder, one must wonder if this guy was ever even serious.
Kubi's eyebrow raised incredulously at this ... thing pretending to be the Vice Captain. His jaw worked in what was obviously irritation. An eye twitched, and then he voiced what everyone was thinking. "What. The. Fuck." he growled out in obvious anger and annoyance. "Who the fuck are y- where the fuck you running to?" The miniature person had taken off ... and Kubi knew exactly where, calculations running in his head. And he knew he wasn't running directly at him, but rather to the side of him. Kubi eye's narrowed, his fist clenching and the tendons cracking. And then, his fist swung down, aimed perfectly to slam his fist down onto his skull, using his Mathematical Prediction ability, to squish the chibi into a little pulp. If it hit, there would be nothing left to scoop up.
A look of disgust was on his face. "Tch. Any shinigami who would willingly weaken themselves for any reason is a weakling. I don't abide weakness." He took a step back. "If ya still alive, come out. I know tha' didn' kill ya. You're a Vice Captain. If that killed ya, ya don't deserve ya title." Though his tone as teasing, his face was serious. It seemed Ray had done a great offense by appearing as he did. What offense though? Maybe Kubi would let spill if Ray loosened him up a bit. Kubi had his right arm at his side, cocked at a ninety degree angle, his left crossing his chest, ready to defend himself should the need arise. All of his senses were on high alert.
“AGH!” Raygin shouted Kubi slugged him in the head. He sat there, staring up at the sky and wiggling. “Ow! That hurt Kubi!!” Raygin complained and held his head. “That was uncalled for." Raygin complained as he stood up and rubbed his head. “Alright, I wont goof off anymore I will be serious.” Raygin promised Kubi and placed his hand on his Zanpakuto. He quickly drew it and looked at Kubi with those red eyes of his. He looked at Kubis body and instantly could tell he was a fist fighter. Meaning Raygin needed his speed and distance to battle with Kubi. Raygin did not even want to attempt to battle at close range with Kubi, but he did need to know how Kubi fought with his Zanpakuto and skills. So Raygin rushed at Kubi with his superior speed. Kubi might think that Raygin was coming towards the left but Kubi might notice Raygin took a quick step to the left and slashed at Kubis arm. Raygin had flipped his sword so that way Kubi would be hit by the flat end, not the blade end.
He then went behind Kubi and swung at the back of his neck and stopped behind Kubi. Raygin aimed his left hand at Kubi and said, “Byakurai!” and fired a blast of electricity at Kubi. With Raygins high Reiatsu Strength his kido would put a hole through Kubis right shoulder. Raygin only wanted to show Kubi that he was actually not weak, but a decent Vice Captain when he wanted to be. His attacks would not do much damage, except for that Byakurai which would put a hole in him.
At the last minute, Kubi felt a twinge of guilt; not for Raygin, whom he has deemed weak and insignificant, but for Ryuu, the Captain of Squad 3, to have to go through the trouble of finding another decently strong Vice Captain. So, at the last minute, he pulled back significantly, only bopping the Chibi'fied Vice Captain on the head instead of outright crushing him before skidding backwards. Kubi wore a bored expression ... until the Vice Captain of Squad 3 shifted to his regular form and began to attack him. Kubi's expression quickly shifted from boredom to joy, a cocky grin spreading across the tanned, hardened lines of his face. "Damn, but he's fast ... I can barely follow him ... he's so quick ... dammit." Kubi was too slow to react to the blade at his arm; however, since the blade was turned to the flat, Kubi would not be injured. His physical strength was far, far lower than Kubi's own, and his Spiritual Pressure was the same. Thus, no bruise will be formed.
However, though Kubi was too slow to react to the blade hitting, that doesn't mean he was too slow to react after the fact. As soon as the blade impacted his arm, Kubi knew, through experience, that this blow was not one meant to damage, but merely to distract. Most likely an attack from the back would be next; these speedster types always liked to go behind your back. Quite literally. So, as the cold metal left his arm, Kubi threw his elbow back over his left shoulder; if this blow impacted, his face would cave in. However, as his fist would impact Raygin's head, before it even began to retract, Kubi punched the ground. The force of it was powerful enough to destroy the ground immediately around them, sending up rubble and the like. If Raygin remained where he was, he would be flung off his feet, his shin bones bruised if he was lucky. Additionally, he'd be in danger of shards of rock flying at him.
Kubi sat up, his face stretched into a cocky grin. He twisted his body, his spine cracking, the raised scar on his chest being thrown into relief as his skin and muscles stretched. His brown eyes, alight with mirth, looked on at Raygin. "So, I guess ya ain' so bad aftah all." Kubi smirked, his fists clenching, his shirtless torso glistening with sweat. He jammed a finger into his chest. "I'm Kubi Tsure, Vice C'p'n of Squad 11." he said, a cocky grin stretching his face. And he waited, obviously expecting Raygin to respond in kind. After all, it's only polite.
Well, this sure was getting fun. Kubi had responded quite well to Raygins speed and responded with brute strength. The physical fighters elbow had just barely missed. Raygin had seen it coming at the last second and managed to avoid it with his superior speed. Then Kubi used his power to break the ground around Raygin. Luckily Ray got out of there as well. He looked at Kubi and the destroyed ground and decided to try to come up with a game plan. So, he is strong enough to break the ground huh. That means I am gonna have to focus everything I can focus on him. If I am hit once it could be over for me. Wait, are we actually trying to do major harm to each other? Well, he pretty much put himself in a place it would be risky for me to enter. Raygin took a few steps to the left, studying the area around Kubi.
Raygin was switching from close ranged fighting to medium range fighting. Kubi seemed to be lacking in speed so Raygin would take advantage of that. He would attack Kubi with Kido and only move in when he had an opening. He flipped his sword so he could attack Kubi with the sharp end. But how was he going to do this? The Vice Captain then jumped back to get some extra distance and pointed a hand at Kubi. “Sokatsui!” Raygin said. From his hand came a large blast of blue reiatsu. With Raygins Reiatsu Strength of 300 the blast was large and wide. Sure, Kubi had time to avoid it and Raygin hopped he would. The Kido user quickly sprinted to the left to get moving if Kubi came after him.
"Hmph." A grin spread across Kubi's face as the Shinigami dodged his attack and flitted away. Kubi's eyes narrowed, his trained mind watching him; he knew exactly where he was going to go and how fast he was moving, thanks to his points in Mathematical Prediction and Battle Analysis. "He seemed to realize that close ranged combat doesn't work that well with me. If it were me, I would switch to mid-ranged combat, to test the capabilities. And that would mean." Almost hiding the action, Kubi pressed a button the watch; immediatly, two numbers flashed up on the screen. A grin spread across Kubi's face. As his opponent intoned the Kido, he said, "Perfect." A single hand was held out.
But wait! Surely the Vice Captain couldn't be that stupid! I mean, sure, he was a part of Squad 11, and they aren't known for their genius, but to walk right into a powerful Kido?! That's not stupidity, that's insanity! If Ray voiced his concerns, Kubi would laugh. If Raygin was paying attention, he would feel something odd with his Energy Sensory; all reaitsu in Kubi's body surged to his outstretched hand, the left which is cloaked in a glove, on the back of which is the insignia for Squad 11. For a brief second, Kubi's left hand was a beacon of spiritual energy, one even those with no energy sensory capabilities could sense. With a grin, Kubi disappeared behind the Sokatsui as it slammed into him ... and then suddenly exploded?! For a brief second, the grinning face of the Vice Captain could be seen through the wisps of the dissipating Kido.
Kubi cracked his neck, his eyes watching the Vice Captain move. He crouched then, the ground underneath him cracking as he disappeared in a flash of Shunpo. He skid to a stop in front of Ray, his body bunching, conserving the momentum of his Shunpo; then in a vicious punch, he swung out at the Vice Captain, the full force of his body behind the punch. If it hit him, there would be nothing left to clean up. But he wasn't done; just in case he missed, Kubi automatically swung right knee up, aiming for Raygins leg; if it hit, Raygin's leg would be shattered behind repair. Yet this is all he did; as soon as he finished, he jumped back, his massive strength blowing a crater in the ground and allowing him to jump back twenty feet. Then he spoke, his words oozing confidence. " 's that th' bes' ya can do? Gotta do bett'r th'n that, Vice Captain." He said the last two words mockingly.
Raygins eyes widened as Kubis attack went right for his head. Oh boy was Raygin lucky he was fast. He quickly ducked underneath the punch then saw the knee coming. It was the right knee going for his leg. Touching that knee in any way would be end game. So Raygin decided to try something unorthodox. He sent reiatsu into his feet. But it wasn’t just normal reiatsu, it was controlled and focused like preparing for a Kido. Ray had no time for the name, he just did. He used the Sho Hado through his feet. There was a blast of force as Ray somersaulted through the air over Kubi. The Vice Captain of Squad 11 had made a crater from his own jump, but Rays left his sandals and socks. Barefoot Raygin landed with a thud as he looked at Kubi.
Did…not think that would actually work. This isn’t the time for experimenting…but I am so happy it worked. Raygin thought with a smile. He turned towards Kubi and held his sword tightly. How was he supposed to fight this guy? Raygin was faster, that was a fact. He was also better with Kido and had stronger Reitasu. Wait, Raygin did have Kido. Ray came up with a small plan that may or may not work depending on what Kubi did. This guy seemed to be very good at predicted where Ray was going to turn up, so he needed to confuse Kubi. So Ray started to bounce. He started to bounce back and forth to get his legs ready. He kinda looked silly when Kubi said his taunt. ”Taunt me all you want, but I am here aren’t I? I could have just refused your challenge since we aren’t exactly gaining anything from this fight. But I guess muscle heads wanna show off don’t they?” Raygin responded back before nearly vanishing in a burst of speed. Raygin was going everywhere. He was literally zipping around back and forth trying to confuse Kubi in some way.
Raygin zipped from the left to the right, backwards and forwards, circles around Kubi. It wasn’t the best of tricks, but Ray did have a speed bonus over him. Raygin got behind Kubi and pointed a finger at him. ”Byakurai!” the spell fired at Kubi before Raygin dashed again. He slowed just a bit in front of Kubi and fired a second Byakurai at him before dashing around again.

Raygin made a mistake in his calculations. Just a small one, but that was all Kubi needed. Kubi felt the blast of wind as the Vice Captain and it was true that he blurred to Kubi's average vision. Kubi whirled around as the Vice Captain spoke behind him; and though his hands rose up to make fists, he didn't strike. He knew his own limitations and Raygin was far faster and - or so he hoped - too experienced to get hit by a frontal attack like that. So, he waited for Raygin to finish his little speech and started to zip around before acting.
Kubi couldn't predict where he was going, thanks to him zipping back and forth and his eyes leaving the target for so long. And Raygin was faster, literally becoming a blur to Kubi's eyes as he moved. There was no possible that Kubi could catch him. It seemed as if the fight would be ended right here and now. But that was no to be. Kubi allowed himself a small grin before making his move. He clenched his fist and shook his head. "Tsk, tsk."
And then he bent down and punched the ground, just as the Byakurai fired from behind him; it blasted over his head, close enough to raise the hair on his head, but ultimately he passed unharmed. Yet Raygin would be a different story. Immediately, his fist being the epicenter, the ground five feet in every direction was completely obliterated, a ring of force blasting dirt, grass, and Vice Captains unlucky enough to be in the way in all different directions.
Due to Raygin's sheer speed and average instinct and senses, there was no possible way he could get out of the way in time, the world around a barely sensible blur. He would be flung fifteen feet backwards before coming to rest on the cold, unforgiving ground. And Kubi straightened, flinging pulverized earth off his fingers. For once, his face wasn't mirthful. His voice was cold and remorseless. It was the voice of one who would do anything - and has. If Ray would look into his eyes, he would see barely concealed madness. "Get up. You're a Vice Captain. A blow such as that did not take you out of the game."
He crossed his arms, his dark eyes narrowing. "If you want to get serious, just say so. Release and I will do the same. But if not, I will end you." His voice was so sure, so cold, that there was no doubt in his mind that he could end Raygin if he pleased and he was only biding his time in killing him. "Release your zanpakutou." he commanded.
Raygin, comically, had a dazed look on his face after Kubi had done his whole “super fist shockwave attack”. The force had sent Ray at least fifteen feet and caused him to land on his back. Luckily though, Ray had been on the edge of the force so he hadn’t received much damage. Ray looked up to see Kubi over him and listened to him speak. ”Are you sure Kubi? You gotta be the strongest person I have met. I aint ever seen someone punch like that.” he complimented his strength as he sat up before bouncing up onto his feet. Kubi wanted to see Ray get serious, to release his Zanpakuto. Perhaps he would get to see that.
Ray looked at Kubi with a soft smile. ”Are you sure you want to see my Zanpakuto? It’s nothing really special or truly impressive.” Raygin said scratching the back of his head. He was using the small window of opportunity to catch his breath. Raygins aura was completely opposite of his opponents. Kubis was mean, cold. Rays was warm, nice. Raygin leapt backwards to gain some distance from Kubi, landing about seventeen feet away. He lifted his Zanpakuto arm and held it out to his side. He released it, but it did not fall. ”Rip through the skies and cut the wind. Howl, Zeroshiki!” Raygin commanded. The sword began to glow and change its shape. The hilt became a circle while the blade mutated completely. The single blade released two additional blades that traveled along the circle, all the while the weapon spun at a high speed. The light it released was bright and it released a high pitched sound as it spun.
Raygin gripped one of the blades hooks. He sent his reiatsu into the blade, filling the blade to twenty percent of its max power. At 20% the weapon had a base Strength of 200, but Kubi wouldn’t know that. Oh he might assume that he knew the weapon would physically strike him, but he would not know that the weapon tripled its strength. He wouldn’t know the weapon gained speed as it flew. Raygin smiled and used a Shunpo to appear directly in front of Kubi. His arm was already in motion as it released his weapon, at point blank range. Raygin also had his finger pointed at Zeroshiki and with a mental cast he used the Kido Sho on it. The strength of his reiatsu would cause the Sho to instantly give Zeroshiki an increase in 300 speed giving it 390 speed. This sudden increase would be like firing a gun in Kubis face with the gun on his forehead.
If Kubi was struck his body would be hit hard. His strength was high enough that he would not be utterly destroyed, but he would be hurt. Using his telekinetic control over his weapon Raygin willed Zeroshiki to return to him. The weapon came to him with a slight increase in its high speed. The Vice Captain caught it and instantly the reiatsu stored in it returned to his body. Raygin looked over at where Kubi should be and instantly began putting more reiatsu into his weapon.

Kubi laughed, holding his sides. "Wow, you really are suck-up, aren't you? Here's a tip: always let your opponent know they're shit." His voice snapped like the jaw of a steel trap. And then ... his opponent released. A joyful expression alit across Kubi's face. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, through his nose, as if enjoying the power. "Yes ... show me your power!" His eyes were colored with madness. As the light reflected off them, they would shine ever so lightly red.
In a fluid moment, he pulled out his zanpakutou, meaning to release ... however, as luck would have it, Raygin chose that moment to Shunpo directly at him and swing at him. Kubi, even as inexperienced as he is in the way of swordcraft, is capable of holding a blade straight. Zeroshiki would meet his blade and be stopped; if it were flying, Kubi would have more trouble. But Zeroshiki only gains the multiplier when it is flying through the air. Kubi grinned at Raygin madly, his eyes glinting like those of Lucifer. "Hasty little shit."
With that, he pushed back on the blade, sending Raygin flying through the air. Then, Kubi released. "Wound, Joo Bachi!" In a flash of blue light, the blade disappeared, to be replaced by a metal glove, with spikes on the knuckles. It was tinted a light blue. As Kubi cracked his fingers, he spoke again. "Mugen no Kokucho." Instantly, a flurry of green stars surrounded Kubi's gauntleted fist. He curled his fists again ... then punched the ground once more.
This time, Ray would notice something. Though his strength didn't increase, it was as if a giant had slammed his fist into the ground. Five feet from every direction from Kubi was a crater, where nothing survived. Kubi jumped back to the ground, so that they were separated by the crater and wherever Ray had landed. Kubi laughed, a strained, high-pitched laugh, bordering on a maniacal cackle. Then he glanced at Ray. His eyes seemed to be flaming. As Ray looked into his eyes, it would be as if he were peering into the eyes of a demon; to Kubi, Ray was nothing more than sport.
"Do you see now?! You can't touch me, Rang!" It was a taunt, a challenge, and a declaration of his own power, all in nine words. Then Kubi's eyes settled on Ray, as his body settled into a relaxed, casual pose. His legs spread, his arms at his sides, the gauntlet shimmering in the afternoon light. Then, he taunted Ray, his fingers beckoning him to come. A sadistic smile plastered itself over Kubi's face as he waited for Ray to make his move.
”Wrong. A suck up is someone who pays you compliments or does nice things and expects to something in return. All I am doing is paying you a compliment.” Raygin said to Kubi. Raygin looked into Kubis eyes and his own narrowed. Something was wrong with this man. Looking into his eyes Raygin did not see a human looking back at him, he saw something else something evil. This was enough to cause Raygins attitude to change his attitude for this fight.
When Kubi sent Ray through the air the younger Shinigami quickly stabilized himself and landed with a grunt. He was well out of the way of Kubis power to show off. This made Raygin smile, as he figured out Kubis power. With that little display Kubi not only showed Raygin his Zanpakuto was a physical class, but it was also a destruction class Zanpakuto. Now, increasing strength was something it probably did but just like all Zanpakuto it did something else. What that other thing was probably increase damage. That crater was the answer to that. When Kubi had punched the ground earlier, all he managed to do was crack it. But this time he destroyed the ground and formed a crater.
Power to increase damage output…that’s nasty. This guy is also capable of one hit kills. But, I do have three things he doesn’t. Range, speed, and Kido. Raygin hefted Zeroshiki onto his shoulder and smirked. He was going to end this. A plan formed in his mind. ”Sekienton!” Raygin said as he touched the ground. There was a huge poof of red smoke that rose up around Raygin in a instant. The red smoke was about seven meters in width and rose up about thirty feet into the air. As soon as he cast the Kido Raygin used his second technique. Toripurupakku Raygin mentally cast. A second Zeroshiki appeared in his other hand. Raygin quickly chucked the original Zeroshiki through the smoke straight at Kubi. With a second mental cast Raygin used a Sho on Zeroshiki, kicking its speed up an additional three hundred like earlier. Then Raygin used a Shunpo to appear behind Kubi. He silently threw the cloned Zeroshiki at Kubis back. Now, Ray wasn’t done. No, he used a third mental cast. But instead of a Kido, he used a technique. The clone Zeroshiki suddenly began to glow and its blades grew in size. Nagaikiba, Zeroshikis technique that not only increased the size of its blades but turned its Strength into Reiatsu Strength.
Kubi would be focusing on the original Zeroshiki, and not the second one behind him. He lacked the ability to sense energy, so he would not be able to detect the weapon coming from behind him. Kubi lacked the physical strength to stop Zeroshiki now, and he also lacked the Reiatsu Strength to be able to survive being bisected by the clone Zeroshiki. He may be experienced, but he would not have been able to detect Raygin use the Shunpo in the smoke. For all Kubi knew Raygin could have been preparing another Kido in the smoke. His attention would be focused on the boomerang that was speeding towards him.
