As the flood approached, Kuroi felt himself drawn into his own fantasy. Into a painful memory.
Beaten, broken, and lying in a puddle of his own blood on the floor were just a few things that could be said of Kuroi. None had been able to enter the locked throne room at the time, save Azeru Cho, who wanted to watch if Kuroi had the power to stand. He was there, looking up at the monster that had defeated him. The wounds were fresh. The memories at the time were still sinking in. He remembered how he had rushed the enemy, and been pushed back. He remembered how he had been sent skidding back, blade in hand, and fired Bala and Cero to no avail. He remembered how no attack had worked against the approaching monster. The three meter tall Envainar, Grimoire Acero, had broken Kuroi. Just as Kuroi had broken many before in Las Noches, Grimoire had done so to the Segunda Espada. The difference in their power had been enormous.
At the time that he lay in his blood, Kuroi was forced to look up at Grimoire, standing there expressionless, towering over him. Grimoire had shattered Kuroi's sword with his flame-like fist attack. Kuroi had not even had a chance to defend once Grimoire had been upon him. He'd been bloodied and wounded, his sword broken into several pieces, and his powers useless. He'd been downed without Grimoire even needing to draw a weapon. Grimoire. A monster from Hell that no one in Las Noches could comprehend. A gift from Lucifer that punished all who defied or angered him. A demon that Sonken Kouhai would one day use as a secret weapon against the Shinigami. And Kuroi had been forced to fall to him.
Kuroi struggled, feeling his body tear and screech as he tried to stand. High speed regeneration for once seemed a little bit slow, and standing took Kuroi a great amount of effort. Blood was still dripping from his body as he stood, and observed Grimoire. "You..." he hissed out. "You dare attack my Fraccion, and expect to live...?!" he gasped out his last words from that sentence. He would not stand for his Fraccion being brutalized as Grimoire had done. But he was too weak then. Or Grimoire was simply too strong. Kuroi could not protect his subordinates. He could not even avenge them. He couldn't even protect himself from the monster. "I'll..." Kuroi started. But he couldn't find an appropriate threat. He let his words hang in the air. And after many long moments of standing there, he'd gathered his Fraccion, and all four had left through Garganta. And he remembered the shame ever since. It was a shame that he would never feel again. The shame and Despair of defeat.
With this memory fresh in his mind, Kuroi spoke. "Never again..." he murmured. "Never." His left hand flashed up immediately as the walls of water approached him. "Enma Cero." In an instant, the water before Kuroi parted ways. It was blasted apart and gone. An entire section of the tsunami was vaporized instantly by three hundred invisible Cero. This was one of Kuroi's ultimate attacks. Instantaneous, the attack created three hundred Cero, fired all at once, all invisible. To Sozen, it would appear as if a huge section of his tsunami had suddenly been erased from the very air itself. Just a single Cero from Kuroi was enormous. Three hundred was enough to decimate entire landscapes and forests and villages.
Kuroi rushed forwards following this, his Silencio Hazo Genrai blades on each wrist. Sozen, by that time, was shooting his black rays. Kuroi sliced directly into them with his blade, red steam emitting from his body. He was fast because of Kakucho Cero, and was easily able to turn his blades into a flicking motion around his body. "Jigoku No Bijutsu: Shikkusu no Sodofomu. Chitandomu." Kuroi noted. His dome-like defense appeared transparent, or as if a dome of water surrounded him. And yet, the lightning bolts dissolved, and still he kept coming. Reaching Sozen, and having guarded against all attacks, Kuroi prepared to strike. Water had flooded on the sides, and was beginning to wash over the ground.
Kuroi initiated the same attack form as earlier, so that it would surround Sozen. "Jigoku No Bijutsu: Saisho No Sodofomu. Ikari-En." This time, however, it would be more difficult to judge. For it was transparent. Transparent flames surrounding Sozen. No, even worse! From Kuroi's wrist slits, the black bone-like hilts slid back out again, and into his hands. They ignited, solid white blades that appeared to be reiatsu. They danced and flicked around with the transparent blades attached to Kuroi's wrists. White and transparent flames. Four blades. There was no escaping it this time unscathed. Sozen was in for a treat. An attack that would wipe him out. Following this however, Kuroi disappeared with a Sonido, and appeared high in the sky above Sozen.
It was time to attack again. An enormous black Cero charged at the tip of each of Kuroi's white blades. Two black Cero. "Cero Oscuras!" Kuroi declared. The huge, incredibly fast, incredibly large black Cero attacks charged toward Sozen. And, simultaneously, the dome formed again, steam puffing out from Kuroi's wrist slits. Silencio Hazo had once again come to the battlefield. After the Cero Oscuras and devastating explosions from impact, Kuroi once again appeared in front of Sozen, maneuvering in between the rain-like stabbing motions of the second hell art sword form, and the flame-like surrounding cyclone of the first. How would Sozen possibly guard against all of these unimaginable attacks?
"Have no worries..." Kuroi said. "I'll see to it that nothing is left of your body to find."
