This is Kuroi Naito (Segunda Espada) fighting Cierro Muerte (Octava Espada.)
And it is fucking overdue.
Yeah. No special conditions, wagers, bets, handicaps, or other.
It's NDE.
It takes place in the White Desert of Hueco Mundo. That's about it, really.
So, Cierro is willing to fight because Kuroi was talking to a female Arrancar the other day. For whatever reason which Cierro does not know, Kuroi suddenly shoved his hand against her face and killed her with a Cero. But, when Cierro came out to confront Kuroi, Kuroi explained that they'd have to fight later. Kuroi had a mission to attend to, and left. So now it's the designated fight. That's the story and we're sticking to it.

Cierro showed up at the allotted time with an angry expression etched on his face. Kuroi, his own comrade, had apparently murdered a woman in cold blood! He hadn’t told Cierro why, but that didn’t matter! There was NO reason why Kuroi should have done such a thing and immediately after witnessing the event the Octavo nearly attacked the other espada. Kuroi had calmly given the Octavo a time and a place for them to fight, and Cierro had showed up to kick Kuroi’s ass! “What the FUCK did you do that for?!?!” yelled the Octavo at the Segunda, “Explain why!!! WHY DID SHE HAVE TO DIE?!? TELL ME DAMMIT!!!” The eighth espada was on the verge of tears. Cierro had always been extremely bothered when a hot girl gets killed before her time, and even more disturbed when the event happens to take place right in front of him. Did the Segunda have no heart whatsoever? Did he think himself to be the lord over everyone else’s lives? That was not okay with the Octavo.
“ESPIATU, TRAIDOR!!!” screamed the espada unsheathing his zanpakutou and sliding his coating ring over its blade practically in the same motion. Whatever explanation the other arrancar gave, it wasn’t good enough for the enraged espada. Kuroi would see a familiar release as the arrancar’s scimitar disappeared and was instead replaced by bone-like armor that jetted out from the sides of his arms in sharp barbs and covered his knuckles with sharp spikes. The espada’s flesh turned pitch black and his eyes glowed through the eyeholes of a white hollow mask that formed around his head. A notable feature that Kuroi would remember about Cierro’s release would be his long, forked tail. This tail was also covered in the sharp, bone-like material and made it possible for Cierro to skewer people behind and in front of him. “WELL KUROI?!? EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!!” he shouted, as he lowered himself, ready to attack in case the other espada’s answer didn’t suit him. The espada was now at full power. He was released and his coating ring aura allowed his attacks to have a cutting power of 750 reiatsu strength.
It was laughable. This Arrancar that just yelled and blurted out at Kuroi. It was unforgivable to kill a woman? Ridiculous. What made women so special? They were the same as any men. All beings were the same regardless of gender. Only a fool would believe otherwise. If it was so unforgivable, then killing men should be just as unforgivable. Kuroi knew that Cierro had killed. In his time as an Arrancar, he definitely had. To be an Espada, he definitely had. Cierro had killed. Perhaps not females, but males. And if killing a female was so unforgivable, so too should killing a male be that way. As a result, all killing should be unforgivable, and Cierro had no right to get angry at someone for killing, considering it was a crime of his as well. Either way, Kuroi wouldn't voice this.
Saying that out loud to Cierro wasn't worth it. He really did not have the patience to explain that entire trail of thought to Cierro. Kuroi was wearing his usual outfit, and he didn't bother releasing either. He had on black dress shoes and dress pants, and an unbuttoned black blazer with a roughed up white dress shirt and black tie underneath. He did not have his hands in his pockets. Kuroi had two black gloves on, silk. His hair was unruly, short, and jet black. His eyes too were black, and gazed quite serenely at Cierro. He didn't care in the least about a single word that was coming out of the Octava Espada's mouth. So he wanted an explanation? He should get more serious. He didn't understand the first thing about the chain of command.
"I don't owe you any explanation." Kuroi then said to Cierro. He extended out his right hand, and a surge of black reiatsu shot across it. Suddenly, in Kuroi's grasp, there was his Zanpakuto. Gripped in his right hand, Kuroi held the one handed blade, that sharp katana, in the best way to hold any sword. It was a pretty loosely dangling grip, though tight in such a way that he wouldn't lose hold of it. Rather, it was simply a flexible grip. He could move it around the way that he chose to. There was nothing to it. And Cierro was about to find out that he'd chosen the wrong opponent. There was nothing that he could do if Kuroi wanted to do something. He was far Kuroi's inferior. He was so much weaker that it was laughable, like this whole situation.
"If you feel angered by her death, you can bury yourself with her after I destroy you." Kuroi informed Cierro. He happened to be wearing a violet colored gem ring on his left hand's ring finger. Kuroi drew his ring against his Zanpakuto blade, which suddenly became covered in a vicious purple aura, a light which looked like overflowing reiatsu. His cutting power of course had just far gone up, because of the S-Grade Coating Ring. Kuroi didn't really care much about anything that Cierro had to say, though. He was simply ready to attack and fight. Kuroi flicked his blade around loosely just a bit, having it move around a bit like a butterfly knife, even loosely separating slightly from his grip with some flicks. Meanwhile, he aimed his left palm at Cierro. "Cero." Kuroi said suddenly.

“I don’t owe you any explanation” said the Segunda as he made his zanpakutou materialize out of mid-air. “You’re a complete and utter asshole...” said the espada, realizing that Kuroi wasn’t going to tell him. Well, that’s why he’d come. He was going to beat the snot out of this cocksucker and avenge the death of the poor woman he killed. “If you feel angered by her death, you can bury yourself with her after I destroy you,” said the espada, simply adding fuel to Cierro’s already raging fire. That was it, that was the last straw. Cierro was attacking now, and he was gonna pound Kuroi till he apologized and explained why the hell he killed such a beautiful creature. “Here I go...” said the espada to himself just before he would completely disappear from Kuroi’s vision using a sonido. Among all the espada, Cierro’s sonido was the fastest. Not even Kuroi would be able to see the Octavo as he moved at a stat speed of 15,600 causing an immense pillar of sand 300 yards high to burst out of the ground where the Octavo had previously been standing.
The other espada wouldn’t even be able to react before Cierro reappeared at Kuroi’s left side beside his outstretched arm. Before Kuroi could even move Cierro would deliver a crippling punch to Kuroi’s side. The spikes on his knuckles would dig into the espada’s flesh and leave gaping puncture holes if it connected with the Segunda. Cierro had chosen to reappear on Kuroi’s left side for a few reasons. First, the Segunda’s blade was held in his right hand on the completely opposite side of him. Swinging at Cierro at this angle would be awkward and easy to see coming. The other reason for coming out of his sonido here was because he would only be forced to deal with the espada’s empty arm, and while yes, cero or bala was a possibility, the Octavo planned to be finished before the 2nd espada even knew what had happened.
Kuroi simply didn’t have the senses or the instincts to keep up with the Octavo’s high speed movement. Cierro could move three times Kuroi’s speed and that was WITHOUT using sonido. He had just used a step technique that sent him way outside of the Segunda’s radar to move under his guard. As the Octavo’s fist was on a collision course with Kuroi’s body, Cierro’s tail shot directly at the Segundo’s left foot. If he moved this foot to dodge, which was practically impossible considering the speed difference, then all his weight would be put on his right foot for a split second. This would be the split second that Cierro’s hit would connect with Kuroi’s torso. Ultimately the espada was facing two attacks going at two different places at the same time sent by someone three times faster then him. There was simply no way the Segundo was coming out of this unscathed. All the while during the split second this occurred, Cierro’s head was on a swivel, looking for any retaliation from the espada. Sure Kuroi had been able to somehow keep up with him last time, but he’d gotten even faster since then, and Kuroi had only remained stagnant.

Underestimation. Kuroi had felt it the moment Cierro took off. What kind of fool was Cierro? He thought that Kuroi didn't already understand the advantage of speed? Kuroi had already encountered Cierro before. If it was speed, Kuroi knew all about it. In actuality, if one wanted to get technical, Kuroi knew of ways in which his speed would utterly shame Cierro's. But that didn't matter. Rather, he had other ways of fighting. First of all, there came the part where Cierro materialized to his left side. Kuroi couldn't react? He'd set up his reaction previously. He knew the very moment that he spoke to aggravate Cierro, and the very instant that he even made the first pretense of a strike, Cierro, impatient with rage, would come for him. And that was why Kuroi had decided to flick his blade around like a butterfly knife.
Kuroi, as a matter of fact, had absolutely no intention of slashing Cierro at that point. There existed ways that he could, but Kuroi wasn't going to use them. He didn't have the senses or instincts? Quite correct, but only if one assumed that Kuroi was simply unprepared. He'd prepared himself for Cierro's speed already by flicking his blade around, and doing so loosely enough as to let it leave his hand ever so slightly, revealing his palm. Kuroi had moved his blade, and had already been moving it while aiming his other palm at Cierro and faking with a Cero. He'd been ready for wherever his enemy appeared. Kuroi's right palm was facing Cierro. He wasn't slashing. No, he was attacking with something far different, and Cierro was about to find out what that was.
It was Cierro, rather than Kuroi, who was vastly unprepared for the attack. He was in the middle of attacking. No way to dodge. No way to block, for he was too slow. Cierro would find this concept of being too slow to be new to him. The sound like thunder wasn't until seconds later. Cierro would not be able to use another step technique, due to being in the middle of an attack. And he'd feel it in his chest much later. The attack was fast enough that he wouldn't realize what wound had been inflicted just yet. It had been the technique called Dos Bala. It was small, it was a bullet. It was impossible to dodge. Regular Bala was 20 times faster than a Cero. And Dos Bala was even faster than that. It traded raw power for speed. All it had on its side was penetration.
It penetrated Cierro without question. In the middle of attacking, having just appeared in his rage out of a Sonido, there was nothing that he could do. He hadn't tensed his feet for anything. He hadn't been lightly moving. He hadn't been cautious enough. He'd expected something different than this attack type from Kuroi. So, he would be hit in the chest. The bullet however would not penetrate him all the way like it should. It had another purpose. It could explode. In an instant, it detonated. Kuroi had been flicking around, seemingly randomly. Seemingly to show off. No, he'd planned to use Dos Bala from the beginning because of how fast Cierro could move. And, what was more, his moving arm meant that, already in motion, it could be almost anywhere when Cierro began moving. Kuroi had been prepared for an attack from behind, or an attack from the side, or the diagonals. Up front, he would have had another counter regardless. It was child's play to have his palm already facing where Cierro appeared.
Kuroi's Pesquis simultaneously formed, and this was put into overdrive as his radar allowed him better track of Cierro's reiatsu signature. But what was more important than that was the bullet and the explosion. The penetration was such a low damage level compared to Bala or Cero that it was laughable. What the true damage happened to be was the explosion. The detonation of the reiatsu bullet blasted Cierro back instantly, away from Kuroi. In actuality, his attacks would miss simply because the detonation from the bullet, which penetrated the front, would push him back. Instantly, Cierro was moved away from Kuroi, even out of tail range. His attacks missed, and his chest had been burned severely by Kuroi's incredible reiatsu strength. Third degree at least, and he already had some internal bleeding and burns too.
"You're a joke." Kuroi informed Cierro. The explosion of course could not be avoided because there was no way to know it was coming, and it was instant. The moment the bullet impacted and began penetrating through Cierro's body, and before it even made it halfway through Cierro, it blew up. The bullet of course had been made unavoidable by Cierro being in mid attack, just out of his Sonido, no position ready or time left to prepare for a next one. Dodging was impossible because of the bodily motions which had brought him into attacking, and out of Sonido. Kuroi spoke once again. "You thought speed would give you an advantage? Don't make me laugh. In speed, I have the power to surpass you as well." And then reiatsu tensed up in Kuroi's body, charging across it. The next attack was coming.

Cierro emerged from his sonido below Kuroi’s arm and to the left a bit. Immediately upon exiting the step technique, Cierro glanced to his left and noticed the hand pointed directly at him. “What the fuck? He knew where I was going to be?!” thought the espada as a bright light seemed to shoot out of the Segundo’s finger. Due to the position that the eighth espada was in it would be impossible to hit his chest, but the Dos Bala collided with Cierro’s back and accomplished what Kuroi had planned, detonating and sending the espada away from him. The eighth skid across the sands with pain strewn across his face. He had expected reiatsu-based attacks from the Segundo to begin with, but hadn’t thought he had techniques that traveled so fast in his arsenal. Cierro’s first thought was that Kuroi would use a bala, but apparently not. Anyway, Cierro came to a stop as he skid backwards and finally stood up a few dozen yards away from the other arrancar. How did Kuroi know he was going to appear right there? Cierro was racking his brain to figure out the answer. Did he have some kind of ability or was he just THAT experienced? “Just how many years of combat experience do you have?” thought Cierro to himself, trying to ignore the throbbing pain on his back.
“You’re a joke,” said the Segundo, seemingly unfazed by Cierro’s new level of speed. Luckily Dos Bala lacked the power of a normal bala and Kuroi had instructed it to detonate instead of piercing all the way through him. His back would be covered in burns and would look quite nasty at first. Cierro cringed as his back sizzled. “Ngghhh... That really stings...” he said with a smirk, “Let’s get rid of it then...” What was Cierro up to? Before the Segundo’s eyes the other arrancar’s wounds seemed to heal themselves and all signs of him being injured disappeared. When did Cierro get high speed regeneration? Kuroi would likely be wondering what kind of stunt the espada was pulling, but in fact it was quite simple. Cierro was merely using his shapeshifting ability to simply hide the damage. The Octavo was still hurt and still burned and still in pain, but Kuroi wouldn’t be able to see it. Cierro immediately recognized the reiatsu flowing through Kuroi’s body. The espada had expected reiatsu-based attacks from the Segundo and now it looked like . Cierro doubted that Kuroi could compete with him in a direct hand-to-hand fight without using tricks like cero or this weird Dos Bala thing he’d just pulled. Few enemies that he met could.
Cierro would definitely be watching out for another Dos Bala. Those things were fast, but now that Cierro knew about them he wouldn’t be hit by one again. The eighth espada didn’t know what the other espada was planning, but he wasn’t about to be hit with it. With determination in his eyes he began to run circles around Kuroi, waiting to see what the espada had planned. Kuroi would find it difficult to even keep track of the Octavo’s position as he seemed to be heading both counter-clockwise and clockwise around him all at once. He kept around twenty or thirty yards away from him at all times as he made his way around the Segundo. It would be impossible for the other arrancar to catch him off guard now, for the eighth espada had something prepared for the moment that Kuroi attacked him. Kuroi had hit him once and Cierro would not forget that pain. But the Segundo would be extremely lucky if he could hit the speedy espada again, especially now that he’d showed Cierro his Dos Bala ability.

Kuroi stood there, having blown Cierro away. But, what came next would at least give Cierro small satisfaction. A small cut across Kuroi's body, though not the leg hit that he had been aiming for. Rather, the blast had sent Cierro's blade spiraling up at the last second, so that it cut a small nick across Kuroi's chest, also slightly splitting his shirt at that point by a few inches. Of course, the damage to Kuroi's clothing was irrelevant, even if he preferred that it didn't happen. What was truly relevant was the two or three droplets of blood spilled, which appealed more to Kuroi's pride than to anything else. But, it didn't matter. He'd also landed burns on Cierro's chest, along with mild bullet penetration. The burns of course were more severe than "just that" due to reiatsu strength difference.
Regardless, Kuroi put his left hand in his pocket after that. He no longer needed to deal with Cierro by wasting reiatsu. In actuality, that speed had been the only glimpse that Kuroi needed. What he did then was also quite surprising. He'd only just figured out what to do, only moments, or perhaps ten to twenty seconds after he'd been cut already. Kuroi cut quickly across his clothing, so that his dress shirt, tie, and blazer fell away and to the ground. He obviously did not need them. Kuroi went without his shirt, extending his right arm outwards. In this way, Kuroi aimed the tip of his blade at Cierro. The violet aura was something which would certainly be intimidating across the surface of the weapon. But, either way, that wasn't the point either.
Kuroi dropped his left hand to his side, his left hand dangling uselessly, as if completely limp. Reiatsu began flowing throughout his body, a menacing glow striking across his eyes as a lion's roar. Intimidation, so to speak, was a powerful ally. Black reiatsu made smoke-like shapes around Kuroi, and what appeared to be black ravens with glowing red eyes also flew around Kuroi. This was the shape that his reiatsu took. Kuroi hadn't taken off his shirt to show off his abs to Cierro. No, he hadn't. Now, he could have. He also could have been destroying his shirt in an act of rage over certain pony-related things. But no, Kuroi had done it for a strategic purpose. Standing there at that time, Kuroi simply cocked his head to one side.
"Tell me something, Octavo. Even released, you need that special item to even cut me. I have never used my strongest powers against you, even the sealed state ones. What makes you think that you can defeat me? If I were to release for example, you would become nothing more than a joke. Even less than a bug, which is what you are now." Kuroi was banking on Cierro's next attack actually, rather than anything else. It wasn't going to be an attack from Kuroi that won the battle just yet. It would be what he did in response to Cierro's next attack. And so, standing there, Kuroi released his sword from his grasp very suddenly. The blade began falling towards the ground, though Kuroi kept his palm aimed at Cierro.
"Come for me, Cierro Muerte. I will crush you where you stand."

The attack to his back had essentially spelled out who would emerge the ultimate victor of this fight, but Cierro wasn’t put out of commission just yet. No. He’d done what he’d intended to and drawn Kuroi’s blood. Opponents like Cierro who possessed incredible speed were difficult to deal with without taking at least one hit or two. Either way, Cierro had drawn blood, which was more than he did last time. Without a word the Octavo drew his tail to his lips as he sprinted around the espada in quick circles Cierro was careful to keep well out of Kuroi’s range, giving himself adequate room to react to any ranged attacks Kuroi happened to throw at him. A single smear of Kuroi’s blood would be all that the eighth espada needed as he ingested the espada’s blood. Kuroi would be completely unaware of this particular ability of the Octavo’s as Cierro hadn’t ever told anyone he had this ability.
Cierro swallowed Kuroi’s blood, or what little of it had gotten on the end of his tail, and began to sort through the other arrancar’s memories. It would be a few moments before the Octavo could fully go through all of Kuroi’s past, and he wouldn’t attack during that time. Why would he? Why would Cierro launch an uninformed assault against the other espada when all he’d need to do is wait a few moments and suddenly “remember” all of the Segundo’s abilities and powers? This would not be the only information that Cierro’s ability let him copy. All of the people Kuroi had ever fought were recalled during this process and the abilities which they revealed to Kuroi were also revealed to him. The espada had quite an impressive fighting record, and Cierro instantly went through everything Kuroi had ever done that would benefit him in his fight. It would only take a few more moments and the eighth espada would finish copying all of Kuroi’s memories. Meanwhile, Cierro kept running circles around the Segundo like Ichigo had done to Byakuya when he’d first attained bankai. He hadn’t expected to get the Segundo’s blood so early in the fight, but he was pleased that he had. That would definitely make the rest of their battle much easier for the Octavo.
“Tell me something, Octavo. Even released, you need that special item to even cut me. I have never used my strongest powers against you, even the sealed state ones. What makes you think that you can defeat me? If I were to release for example, you would become nothing more than a joke. Even less than a bug, which is what you are now,” said Kuroi as Cierro continued running circles around him. The eighth took note of the 2nd espada as he removed the upper half of his clothing. What was this? Cierro watched as black, smokey shapes seemed to surround him. Was this one of his abilities? Cierro would know in a few more moments, but for now, he needed to remain on his guard. The Octavo had learned not to overlook a single move that Kuroi did. His left hand dangled uselessly at his side as if it was almost limp. Was this him giving himself a handicap or was this the drawback to one of his abilities? Did it have anything to do with the strange raven-like objects that danced around him? Cierro’s head was abuzz with questions.
Either way, it was about time that Cierro answered his superior. No matter how much he hated Kuroi right now, he decided that he should at least respond. “Sounds to me like you’re making excuses! Does that cut on your chest bother you that badly that you’ve resorted to rationalizing? Get over yourself, you cocky bastard!” said the arrancar, raining insults down on the other espada. The espada needed a few more moments before Kuroi’s memories would be useable, so Cierro refrained from attacking and merely watched as Kuroi dropped his blade. Needless to say, the espada would be unable to aim at Cierro with much accuracy since he was zipping around Kuroi at unthinkable speeds. It was obvious to the eighth that Kuroi was charging something, and until he knew what it was, Cierro wasn’t about to attack. It was foolhardy to strike when an enemy was expecting you. Instead, Cierro merely waited for Kuroi to make the first move. The Octavo remained confident that he wouldn’t get hurt by whatever Kuroi had in store, because like the Segunda, Cierro had a few tricks in store too.

OOC: Sorry. It's a shit post. I just can't come up with attacks or anything right now.
A small, calm, confident smirk lit Kuroi's face. His sword was on the ground. It was then that Cierro would be hit. Instant, unavoidable. But not by an attack. It was by memories. This was what made its appearance unavoidable. Cierro's abilities did not flood him all at once with memories, but rather sorted them as part of his history. However, since he could view and recall them, they were as clear to him as to the person that had experienced them. If his experience was far below the user's, it meant that the memories which he experienced had the potential to undeniably harm him. This was one of the drawbacks to his ability to steal memories. It was a drawback shared by the rank above him, the Septima, and it was a drawback that the Septima too had already experienced. The difference had been clarity, but also exposure.
Cierro's mind would, given time, be able to see the abilities that made the battle hopeless. Later, perhaps he would ponder whether or not Kuroi had known of his ability, and had chosen to give his blood to Cierro so that it would be taken advantage of. The abilities which slowed down enemies or neutralized their powers could be seen. But what was most important was what would overshadow them. All of Cierro's mind would be filled by it, for it was a memory which was not something that could be adjusted to. How Kuroi had adjusted to it was that he had experienced it continuously for weeks nonstop, simply because he had been unable to escape it. It was then that Cierro would see horrors unimaginable.
Kuroi bent down to pick up his sword with his right hand while the memories consumed Cierro. Images too ghastly to describe would erase everything else from his memory for the time being. The sounds of the screams and the smell of the air; The very presence of the place would horrify him. It wasn't just the horror of that world, but the horror of Hueco Mundo and Soul Society, which both had also been turned into that world for a time. The place itself was horrible to the last detail, and the tortures and screams and the agony that hit any mind which was first experiencing it was unimaginable. Kuroi had experienced it, but Cierro had not. The difference was the actuality of the memories. Cierro had never seen anything like it. Seeing it in his head like that would shock him beyond belief.
The images of pain, the voices screaming from agony, and the very fundamental thing that made it so horrible, and that made it haunt one in their nightmares, even if it was the mighty Segunda, were all what would consume Cierro with madness and insanity. None could keep their emotions when the memories were directly put into their brain. It would crush all of his willpower. It was going to annihilate every last bit of his ability to keep his cool. No rage, no hatred, and no amount of bargaining or ability could stop that mental anguish which had crushed even the Segunda when he'd experienced it at the time. Cierro had not even been present in Hueco Mundo at the time of Hell For Future. Worse was what happened to those who were.
He'd see many whom he'd known, Asuka by example, had been horrendously tortured and ripped apart while in this Hellish dominion. The memories which could cripple Cierro, more than incontrovertibly in tears and unimaginable pain and horror, which would more than likely tear through his mind like fire and bring him to all fours in a stopped sob; These memories would be the game changer. It was nothing that Kuroi used as an attack, though he had many which he could use against Cierro. Kuroi did not need to attack. All he needed was to stand there while Cierro ran around him, and then muse and wonder as Cierro was unexpectedly crushed by the weight of the memories. No attack would ever be as effective as that sudden despair.
OOC: Continuing this thread, but Kuroi is doing a reset to become a Fullbringer. So all TP I get from this is going to "Human Kuroi" though he's an Arrancar here. I'm just resetting.

(OOC: The thread has taken quite a serious turn. I don’t think the mood is quite right to reveal Cierro’s true form... Sorry...)
Cierro was in the middle of running when his ability finished its tedious process of adding Kuroi’s memories to his own. As soon as it was finished the Octavo smiled. Just as one would think back and remember specific events, the eighth espada began to do exactly that. Except instead of his memories he was recalling, Cierro was going through Kuroi’s for anything he could use. The eighth espada recalled Kuroi’s skirmishes with Squad 7’s captain and found out that the Segunda had quite a rivalry with the current Primera. Then image popped into his mind for a brief moment that filled Cierro’s angry eyes with fear. What was it? Cierro didn’t want to know what it was, but consciously keeping one’s self from remembering something was near impossible, and the more Cierro tried, the more of Hell he saw.
By this time the eighth had stopped running and was instead grabbing his head. Drool fell from his mouth as his breathing quickened. “W-what is this?” he said aloud, “No more... It’s awful!!!” Kuroi had somehow been able to cope with what he’d seen, but it would take a bit more time for Cierro. The eighth espada had never paid any attention to Hell, but now he was forced to see how horrible it actually was through Kuroi’s memories. The experience wouldn’t be as bad as if he was actually there because he wasn’t visually seeing or hearing anything at all. It was just like remembering a traumatic experience. However, even memories packed their punch, and Cierro hadn’t been ready for it. He’d be having nightmares for years now. Kuroi’s past would never let him rest.
“No... just... just think of something else... His powers... What can he do?” thought Cierro as he looked up in the Segunda’s direction. That’s when Cierro saw the espada in a new light. His power... his techniques... his experience... All of them were made clear to Cierro, and it only served to show him how royally fucked he was if this fight progressed any further. This coupled with the memories of hell sent Cierro over the edge emotionally. Fear overtook him as his mind descended back into the memories of the horrible place. “GYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!” he screamed as he collapsed to the ground. He needed to suppress the memories like Kuroi had somehow done, but the more he tried to remember other things, the more his brain forced him to think back to what Hell was like.
There would be no more fighting today for Cierro. He’d completely forgot the reason he wanted to engage Kuroi in combat in the first place. He’d just gotten a glimpse of what could possibly await him if he was ever killed. This possibility scared Cierro right to the core and he gained a new respect for death which he’d never had before. “K-K-K-Kuroi...” said the espada trying his best to stand up, his head held in his hands, “I... I yield... No more... Oh god... No more...” The espada stumbled back towards Las Noches. He wanted nothing to do with anyone else until he got his mind sorted out. He needed to find some way to deal with what was now engrained forever inside of his head or he’d be driven mad. The espada saw many sleepless nights ahead of him.
OOC: Okay. Similarly, sorry for earlier in the fight. I broke my own rule of conduct while I was stressed out over real life LOL. Also FUCK YOU. Cierro's true form is destined to be revealed one of these days.
Cierro's reaction was adequate. And it was identical even to what Kuroi's original reaction had been. Yes, even the Segunda himself had been similar in reaction to Cierro in that moment. At first, during Hell For Future, Kuroi had of course been reduced himself to tears of pain, to clutching his head, to shrieking and screaming. It was a horrible, traumatic experience which had continued to haunt him nightly even decades later. It had taken a long time for Kuroi to find some kind of peace and recovery from that horrifying experience. Regardless, he'd found his own solice from it. And now Cierro was the one who was experiencing the pain and the despair that Kuroi had held deep within his heart from ever since then.
Kuroi watched as Cierro understood and realized the hopelessness of the situation. It had taken Kuroi a moment to figure out what was happening. He'd had to puzzle out what was going on. Then, he remembered a report from Sonken Kouhai. Schultz's powers involved the ability to also shuffle through memories by blood. And Grimoire and Guujin had been distracted, but had been able to give testament to Schultz taking blood from Kurosaki and disappearing. This was how Kuroi found out. And of course, similarly, Cierro was an infiltrator. He'd proved that during the invasion of Soul Society by Las Noches a few years back. It meant that his speed and transformation abilities were probably coupled with other infiltration powers.
Since Cierro had intaken that blood, and then begun this episode not too long afterwards, Kuroi could assume only that Cierro was viewing his memories, or perhaps his powers, or perhaps his experiences. Or perhaps it was Kuroi's aura. Or something along those lines. Regardless, Cierro was suffering from something about Kuroi, and Kuroi could tell. Cierro had learned of Kuroi's powers vastly outmatching his, but then on the other hand he'd also learned of the horrible things that Kuroi had been through. Kuroi was not certain of which thing it was that was making Cierro freak out like this. Regardless, the fight was over. Kuroi didn't plan to keep going if Cierro had been so mentally broken like this. He had no reason to.
"Whatever you saw," Kuroi said in response, "It is only a small portion of what you will be subjected to one day, should you refuse to grow stronger." Kuroi turned away, walking in the opposite direction from Cierro. Cierro was heading back towards Las Noches. Kuroi was heading away from Las Noches. He was moving away because if his fight with Cierro was going to be over, Kuroi was going to go train. There was room of course only to get stronger. This was how it worked. Kuroi was going to have to grow in strength even more, it seemed, because he could. That was all that there was to it. And of course, Kuroi did not realize that a horrible surprise would await him elsewhere at a later date....
