This is a battle between The Phantom Reaper, Souzetsu Masarao, who is Death-Sama's PEA, and Squad 13 Captain Arhellai Lagross. These are the terms of battle.
This fight goes by the default conditions, in which there are no items, and any attack goes. It's NDE, there are no special wagers, handicaps, limitations, or conditions.
The battle takes place in a playground in Karakura Town. The context is that Souzetsu as The Phantom Reaper has killed a few Shinigami, and so someone was sent to take him out. They located him, and now he's a target.

A flash of black past the swing sets, and a whipping, moving cloak. There was darkness, for it was the night in that time, and the black sky polluted by light pollution yielded few stars. There was only a crescent moon, and it yielded little light. It was something however that The Phantom Reaper was used to. Having taken out mission after mission in the darkness, planning the vast majority of his appearances in the night, Souzetsu was easily able to adjust to the darkness, and become accustomed to it. It wasn't difficult to do something like that after so many missions that required him to do so, after all. And therefore, he'd made his appearance in the darkness. If he went without his outfit, they'd never recognize him or be able to track him. In it, they would.
Souzetsu had felt it, of course. The Shinigami were coming for him because of a few he had killed. It was time for them to experience the true power of a Fullbringer. Being in Karakura Town, Souzetsu knew its happenings. Whenever he was on a standby stationary position in Karakura, he was aware when reiatsu related battles took place. Lately, a seated Shinigami had defeated an incredibly weak Fullbring hitman. The conclusion from that time had probably been that Fullbringers pose little threat. No, this was untrue. It had just been a weak one that was defeated. Souzetsu was on a whole other level from that person. With his strength, he'd show them that humans could match the Soul Society's Gotei Thirteen. The PEAs were strong to start with, but there were also Executives.
This was going to be an epic battle. Souzetsu wore a long black leather coat, unzipped to reveal he wore a black under-armor long sleeve underneath. His pants were matching black from some comfortable material, and his strapped on light black shoes looked convenient for silence too. His face was covered by some sort of white phantom mask, and it was a bit intimidating too. He had black gloves over his hands, and he also had rings on each ring finger on each hand, over the gloves. He was waiting for a Shinigami to appear before him and challenge him to battle. Once that happened, Souzetsu would show that person what his power was.
Until then, he stood there under the moonlight, his head risen towards the moon, the white pale light making his mask seem even more eerie and creepy. At last, Souzetsu heard it. He heard the sounds which indicated the approach of his enemy, and his head lowered back, looking around at the darkness. In the all black, Souzetsu could also easily disappear at any time if he wanted to. There were plenty of places in a playground to do that. However, he was here to show his battle capability, so that the Shinigami would know what kind of threat humans could potentially represent. It would be rather scary after all for them if they were unprepared for that sort of war. "Someone's here..." Souzetsu murmured in a voice not audible.
At times like this, Arhellai hated being Captain. He liked being forgotten about, being free to drink and do whatever he wants. However, Arhellai absolutely hated to go out on missions, and this was no different. Strong Man himself ordered him to take care of that "Phantom Reaper". He was proving a bit troublesome, as he killed few Shinigami. Arhelai`s personal opinion was that those Shinigami were too foolish, and didn`t retreat. But, all objections were ignored. Arhellai knew that he had to do this, or face Strong Man`s wrath.
It all happened a week ago. For the whole last week, Gotei 13 was trying to track Phantom Reaper down, and the moment they tracked him down, Arhellai jumped into Senkaimon and went to the Human World. However, his Squad members messed things up, so Senkaimon opened a few hundred meters off the required location. However, it was easy for Arhellai to get where he wanted. In about a minute, he walked into a playground. even though it was dark, Arhellai managed to see a man in black standing in the playground. And under moonlight shimmer, he saw that man is wearing a white mask which is covering his face. There was no mistake. That man was Phantom Reaper.
However, he was not the only one who was in black. Arhellai still had enough sense to leave behind his haori. It could ruin his stealth capabilities, and would as well reveal his rank to Reaper. Arhellai decided that in order to do this, he had to forego his principles and fight a bit of psychological war. That is why he left behind his haori. Even without it, Arhellai looked cool. He had two katana with himself, one at each hip, and also two wakizashi. While one was on his belt, other one was hidden in his kimono. Arhellai really knew how to arm himself.
Aside from clothing, Arhellai was not much into this at the moment. Why do I have to do this? This is a job for Squad 2 or 3, or even for Squad 11. Damn it, why do I get to do the dirty work while the rest of my Squad is carelessly drinking back there? Arhelai was thinking about what should he do next when Reaper murmured something. Damn it! My cover is blown! Well, here goes nothing... There was no point in hiding now, so Arhellai spoke out loud: "Of course there is! It`s me, your personal adversary. I`m here.... for a mission. However, I suggest that we have a drink first, and fight later. When we will fight doesn`t matter, since I cannot avoid that part of this assignment. So, what are you up for: ouzo or sake? I have both..."

When the enemy arrived, Souzetsu went silent instantly. Eerily so, The Phantom Reaper was just that to his enemies. He was a phantom. Once in the presence of another while under this guise, there was only a dead silence. He gave no response to Arhellai's offering of drink, as alcohol did not befit him anyway. Though he'd reached the age to which he could drink, it was not something that he planned on doing. Drinking would ultimately make the drinker much weaker by distorting their vision and clouding their mind. It would ruin their habits and ruin their health as well for the majority of the time. As a result, it was only natural for Souzetsu not to indulge in it.
He was surprised by who they sent. On Death-Sama's roster of the Gotei Captains, the Squad 13 Captain was supposed to be the weakest Captain. More to the point, he was in charge of gate operations. The Captains were all at a strength far above anything most humans could get to, so Souzetsu knew they were taking him seriously in sending a Captain. What was off was that they'd sent the gate operations Captain. Why wouldn't they send someone more battle privy, like Squad 10 or Squad 11? Did they not deem him to be enough of a threat? Admittedly, one could claim that this was Souzetsu's fault, given that he had only killed low ranked Shinigami, and hadn't been very brutal with them, just efficient.
He'd done it quickly, and there hadn't been anyone of a very significant level in the places he'd killed them, so that was why he'd had to settle with the low ranked guys. He was pleased to have at least gotten a Captain though, to be sure. They hadn't bothered with sending him a third seat or a Vice Captain first, and they'd jumped directly to a Captain. This was what Souzetsu was glad for. It was his chance to show the Gotei Thirteen what was coming. There would be no mercy from the master assassin that had marked his place in the human world. Of all assassin names in the world, "Phantom Reaper" was probably the most feared one. Souzetsu was in the top 5 assassins in the world. He actually wasn't #1, believe it or not, for there were those who were stronger.
Particularly, there was supposedly one underground syndicate rumored to have great assassins, two of which were greater than the Phantom Reaper. The degree of truth to these rumors wasn't dubious. Death-Sama himself had confirmed to Souzetsu that the rumors were probably true, though this underground syndicate was unknown in name even to Death-Sama. Souzetsu was willing to believe his boss, though. As the Phantom Reaper, it was only natural for him to do that. At any rate, it was time to begin. The person there didn't seem like the type to go for a first attack, but if he didn't, he'd certainly lose to Souzetsu. The Phantom Reaper was one of the best. To take one like him lightly was foolish.
He held his right hand outwards, and the ring on that finger disappeared as a blade suddenly materialized in his grasp. Through it had the hilt and guard of a saber, the blade was lengthy and sharp, double edged. It had glyphs of gold color running all across it, and the blade was very sharp at the tip, and it was a bright red in color. This was Blade of Sorrow, Souzetsu's Fullbring. Blade of Sorrow... he thought, his property activating within the blade. Main Fullbring Stage 1 had been activated. Little did Arhellai realize that this made Souzetsu the ultimate attacker and counterattacker. His ability was simple, and didn't have much offensive property, but it was incredibly variable, and had a great defensive capability. Time to begin.
Standing there, Souzetsu readied himself. As The Phantom Reaper, it was only natural for him to be prepared for anything. Was Arhellai just as prepared, though? That was the question. If he wasn't prepared, he would lose rather quickly to the efficient attacking methods of the one deemed one of the world's five greatest assassins. If Souzetsu had to guess his own ranking amid those five, he'd probably put himself at #4. He was to be taken seriously, definitely. No emotions showing, no sounds being made, The Phantom Reaper's phantom mask a taunting and scary glare as it stared at Arhellai, Souzetsu gripped his blade tightly. What happened next would go down in stories for years to come.

OOC: Lazy to switch accounts. Also, hope the posting is up to your standards.
IC:
"Silent type, eh? Well then, here I come. Unleash the apocalypse upon the world, and reduce it to rubble and ruins. Bring darkness and despair upon the living, Meikai no Hanshu!" Arhellai actualy spoke out while he unsheathed his Zanpakuto, which was katana that was on his left side of the belt. However, it was a katana no more. It turned into a vicious black sword with unusual blade shape. On one part of blade, there was a green crystal. From the opposite side of the hilt, whip was extending, with a small blade on the end. There was also a green crystal on this end, but that was not changing the fact that this small blade was sharp to the point of madness. However, Reaper could not possibly know what Arhellai`s powers are. He was actually hiding them, and he was doing that successfully. Perhaps other blades he had were connected to that, as Arhellai was rumored to always use different Zanpakutou.
Well, that was not far off the truth, since Arhellai actually possessed multiple artificial Zanpakutou that were used rather than real one. The fact that Arhellai started off with his real Zanpakutou meant that he acknowledged Reaper`s strength. Souzetsu could as well be proud of himself. He was about to witness the true powers of a Captain that was hiding them effectively. That was partially the reason why Arhellai was labeled as the weakest Captain. Only few of his most direct subordinates knew about his Shikai, and only Strong Man knew about Arhellai`s Bankai. So, for those who knew how things were, situation was rather clear. Arhellai would be going all out this time. However, there was nobody here to see his powers, so he could use them to his hearts content.
Only a mere moment after releasing, Arhellai murmured: "Lethe." This was his idea. Inverting order. Usually, he would inject poison first and speak the name afterwards, but Arhellai was changing that order for more versatility. Then, he used Shunpo, appearing behind Souzetsu. With his Shikai in reverse grip, he swung the whip, aiming to create at least a little scratch on his back, so he could initiate the technique and do his job.
But there were things that were unknown to both. The first thing is regarding the specific reason why Arhellai was chosen for this mission. It is because his abilities had nothing to do with Reiatsu Strength. Their efficiency was governed by Reiatsu amount instead, and that allowed Arhellai to fight opponents with higher Reiatsu strength effectively. This was the fact that Souzetsu could not possibly know, since only a handful of people knew it, and he was not among them. Also, even though Arhellai didn`t know it, he was lucky. His techniques mostly did not rely on energy, but on poisons instead, so he was unknowingly giving himself some advantage. Of course, he had no idea of this, nor did Souzetsu, because they didn`t know each others abilities. Things were bound to heat up, and some fireworks would certainly be off.
Remaining Reatsu: 2350 (-600 for Shikai, -200 for Lethe, -50 for Shunpo)

Souzetsu was fast. Arhellai was much slower than him. Souzetsu whirled to begin with, his blade slamming into Arhellai's blade. Souzetsu didn't know it, but there was no advantage as might be mistaken. Power Break did not specifically refer to reiatsu. It referred to power. All forms of power shattered and vanished! The force disappeared from behind Arhellai's strike first, so that it was as if he'd just let his weapon hang there. First thing, this meant he'd have to draw it back and slash again to try to deliver any damage. Worse yet however, the water. It disappeared as a shattering sound erupted throughout the air. The technique was power.
That was the danger of Souzetsu's blade. The properties imbued within the water were power. And the power came from the waters releasing along the blade like a poison. It technically really was a poison, and Souzetsu destroyed the power within it. In this way, it became nothing but ordinary water or liquid. It was some random fluid around Arhellai's powerless blade. However, just after that singular slash, he vanished, and Arhellai was then blinded. He was fast. Before Arhellai could do a single thing to react, a huge column of white light erupted all around him, consuming him in light and blinding him. His eyes would ache and scream in blind agony. He was going to be stunned for quite a few seconds, at least eight to fourteen, at least in the blindness category.
That was time he didn't have. Souzetsu was just too fast for him. It was a simple, rather unpredictable maneuver. Most people would expect a step behind, or maybe to the sides. The sides were less likely than behind, and far away was the next option. Souzetsu however traveled only a foot and a half to the left, still pretty close to Arhellai, and brought his blade arcing across Arhellai's chest in a single, simple diagonal slash. The result of being hit was just going to be a very large spray of blood from a very deep cut. Any defenses or whatnot that Arhellai had would simply be broken by power break, and he was stunned anyway.
Souzetsu was fast, for certain. To say the least, Arhellai would have trouble just moving in time, let alone noticing the attack through his stunned shock. Souzetsu was ready however, light on his feet. He could use a second bringer light if he wanted to at any time, since he didn't make it a body maneuver. The reason that he didn't make it a body maneuver was that he was the Phantom Reaper. It was within his style to be able to disappear quickly and instantly. Therefore, it was only natural that he'd be ready to do this at any given moment. What could Arhellai do against Souzetsu? This was going to be a wound that would certainly immobilize any ordinary human man, and possibly keep them in bandages for half a year.
OOC: Yeah, it's much better than the stuff you did with Magnus.

What Arhelai saw was his sword being stopped, as if he stopped the swing. Arhellai was shocked, but unfortunately he had no time to be shocked. He was blinded, his eyes seeing nothing but white, burning with pain, causing agony to Arhellai`s brain. But still, that brain didn`t cease working. Arhellai had some knowledge about Fullbringers, so he knew that this was Bringer Light. That knowledge was what saved his life.
Eve though he was still blinded, Arhellai instantly lept off the ground, performing Shunpo. However, he was not doing movement up. He Shunpoed to the side, as that is the most effective way of escaping from attack from the back, offering possibility of striking back. Arhellai was really assuming that Souzetsu would come to him from the back. In reality, he was luckier than smart. His luck came from the fact that he moved to the side opposite of Souzetsu, meaning that he avoided possibility of crashing into him, which could happen if he moved the opposite way. Second, he narrowly dodged Souzetsu`s strike, even though he never saw it coming from there.
But there was one more thing. The moment he initiated Shunpo, he started sentence, continuing it in mid-Shunpo, and finishing as he appeared 15 feet away. "Orkizomai stin Styx, ego tha sas nikisoume." The whip wrapped around his right arm, as he held the sword in his right hand, and the whip blade stung his arm. Immediately, Arellai felt the effects, his awareness, his strength, his Reatsu, all of them tripling. It was the ultimate technique of his Shikai.
In addition to this, he Shunpoed again, moving away again. He still didn`t see a thing, but the blindness was slowly fading away. He drew another of his swords, his second katana. It was his second Artificial Zanpakuto, so it could be used. So, placing it in his left hand, taking the stance of Kendo, prepared to defend or move, depending on the circumstances. Also, by the time he took the stance, the blindness was gone. So basically, Arhellai now had means to fight Souzetsu on more equal footing, at least for some time.

Arhellai actually wasn't as "lucky" was one might believe. It was the same logic as if one used a flashbang grenade in war. People were stunned for half a second or more, and blinded for many seconds longer than that. However, that period of being stunned was a period of immobility. Arhellai's instinctive ability was only average. An average human would not be able to pick up on and react to the blindness instantly, like Arhellai would have needed. He had a second or two of absolute stunned mind, where his mind processed absolutely nothing because of the shock of being so suddenly blinded. Furthermore, it took half a second more to Shunpo. In that time frame, Souzetsu got him. That was the speed Souzetsu employed.
At a speed twelve times the average human's, plus using a step technique, Souzetsu easily made it in much less than the time Arhellai couldn't defend. At his normal speed of twelve times that of the average man, Souzetsu could clear that slash in such a small fraction of time that he could probably have landed two more before Arhellai got a chance to react. Worse for Arhellai, Souzetsu had used his step technique, which was why he was even faster. He got there in time to attack so quickly that even if he used Shunpo, Arhellai was in trouble at that point. He couldn't escape that easily. That was why it was dangerous, and he should have been much more careful about the use of his arsenal, and in his defenses. Souzetsu's speed was the key factor. At the range he'd already been at, plus all other factors, there was no way for a simple step technique dodge to work.
The superiority in Bringer Light lay in that simple method. It was what made humans unique in that aspect. An enemy was less able to use a step technique to defend because of that blinding light. That was why it happened that way. Each race's step had its own advantage. Bringer Light came with the stunning factor of that bright column of white light. Essentially, Arhellai's chest received a deep, blood gushing slash that sprayed his red liquids into the air. Souzetsu finished his attack, backing off a few paces just as Arhellai used Shunpo. Arhellai should feel the sharp stinging during his Shunpo. When he came to, meaning when his vision returned, he'd look down and notice a ridiculously deep wound. The slash finished before Arhellai's shunpo even initiated, which allowed his technique to not be broken by Power Break.
On the other hand, his movements were impaired. He'd just taken a wound that would immobilize an ordinary human, and leave one in rehabilitation for half a year at least if one were an ordinary human. It was lucky that Arhellai had a spiritual body, for a regular human body would have been defeated just by Souzetsu's slash right there. The Phantom Reaper had been underestimated, though. For the enemy to use their ace technique so early was ridiculous. Souzetsu was unaware that it was Arhellai's ace technique, but he'd heard the words, and seen the change. He knew some sort of technique had been initiated, and thus he was ready for whatever happened. His left hand was more ready even than the right, which held the blade. Something big was going to happen.
Arhellai was actually lucky that Souzetsu had only been in Main Fullbring Stage 1. In Stage 2, things got even worse. Just that hit, and Arhellai would have been killed. It wasn't just because the sword was larger and the wound would cleave Arhellai in half, but it was because in Stage 2, Souzetsu had another, far more fearsome battle ability than Power Break. This was technically a defensive ability. Stage 2 initiated the offensive one. Either way, it was Arhellai's move next. Souzetsu had landed his hit, and he was ready for whatever else came. When Arhellai attacked, there would be a great amount of consequence if he attacked incorrectly. The Phantom Reaper was cold, ruthless, efficient. Arhellai had already taken one hit from him. It would probably be over if he took even one or two more. He needed to be much, much more careful. He also needed to restrict his movements better, or he'd cause his wound to bleed much more profusely than it already was. Souzetsu's Remaining Reiatsu: 1750 Reiatsu
