A Party for the New Officer[Social, Open]

Well, that was less climactic than he could have dreamed...or excepted. It would seem the sales pitch was not an appropriate one, something had been missing from the gimmick. The mutual attempts of Captain Souretsu and the humble Yuuma, fell on deaf...pointy, fluffy, deaf ears. It should have been expected, truthfully. The only thing predictable about young women, is the inability to control them. That is what this was after all, a show to simply encourage her decision.

Captain Souretsu had pushed hard for a more age appropriate match for his, little one. Yuuma had been swept up into the fiasco, and did what he could to lend his input. Having exchanged only a brief portion of words with the newly intended, he already had high options of Meian. The boy was polite, seemed kind enough...and had a completely rational fear of the tremendous lion which carted him around. All in all, sanity and good manners makes for the best of souls. Or so, the old Shinigami believed. It might be thought, that such standards were quite lax. In reality, finding sanity in the afterlife was beyond a challenge...and even when a perfectly rational mind is found, the manners are lacking. Maybe it was simply the workplace he enjoyed? Maybe his limited enviroment was playing his expectations too well.

Regardless, Meian seemed like good stock! Certainly good enough for the girl that just blitzed from the revelry. Eyeing the young woman on the way out, Ohtomo then glanced around at the crowd which had been called to stare at them. "What? I am sure this is not the first time any of*hic* y-you, have seen a boy get his heart ripped out. Show some kindness, and stare elsewhere!" Those may have been the most boisterous words he had uttered at this part, and quite frankly, he thought a mistake almost immediately. There was no need tondraw such attention to himself unnecessarily. Stupid, stupid. He should have played it more like the vixen...and used this moment to sneak of with some dreamboat.

Ok, maybe not with a dreamboat. Yuuma was not much for dating. No no, instead, he was a man of professionalism. Too concerned with his work, and the effect it has on the Soul Society as a whole. Yes, too busy to be out gallivanting with loves of any kind or shape. Still...amorous connections made for convient excuses. Take A may a for example, she was out of this class wedding and angry Captain Cat-Daddy fiasco with little more than a bat of her eyelashes. As if that was not a sufficient victory, the man she left with was a handsome thing that could have easily been a Captain class Shinigami. The name and rank, as well as personality of the Daper Dan escaped ol' Yuu...having been far too distracted with displaying young Meian like meat on a lure. Well, now that he gave that a second thought, that was kind of cruel.

Maybe he should make amends for such rash actions? At the very least, some form of apology? Yes, a sincere sorry would be enough to resolve this. After all, the fake wedding arrangement WAS fake...and it fell through anyway! Surely the boy would not be too cross to forgive? Turning back to the large captain and his nabbed ninõ, he found that clever Meian was in the midst of a ruse. How delightful! Before he could begin to understand the complexities of the student's sly solicitation of the feline's attention, he was already being incorporated into the plot! Again, delightful! It would seem that the young man required a distraction...nothing more, nothing less. Hmm, alright. Such a request was simple enough to attempt...though success could not be guaranteed. But, if it was to help Mild-Mannered Meian, the old man would give it his best. Needing a jumping point to begin his portion of the plan, he followed suit with the Captain's already established victory.

With a look of utter confusion on the old Squad Oney's face, he offered Captain Raion a tremendous shrug of his shoulders. "I do not know WHAT game the child is referring too. Still! He says you have won*hic*!" Being of decent height himself, it was possible for him to hang from the large cat's shoulder. Bringing the conversation in, lowering his tone so that the words were just for them. By this point, the large Captain had not been given much choice in hearing Ohtomo out or not. This gave Meian at least a little time to work something out, but not necessarily time enough to execute his goals. Still, if the old man could keep a handle on Raion for just a moment longer.

"T-that would mean some kind of prize is in order, would it now? Are not victors owed the spoils? Maaaybe someone has something for you...maybe you get to pick your prize?" By this point, the wrinkles of the old Division One member's face were more apparent in the festive lighting. The creases in his cheek only served to widen his grin just a bit more, and reeeally help him play off a devilish expression...after all, he had observed such facial playfulness all night long with the other Shinigami...clearly it was a thing. "You should ask for more sake, or better wines! No...no wait. You should get yourself, uhm, a partner for the evening. Yes, just like your little rugrat. The one who escaped with that rather handsome looking, pasty fellow. Wai-ah no, that will not do. You got yourself a captured buddy already. T*hic*at means, you need something more. If I could pick a prize...and already *hic*ad all the alco*hic*ol I wanted and someone to s-share it with...then I would request something really big."

This is where they suggestions were starting to lose fuel. He was not sure, exactly what was an acceptable desires among the younger Squad members. Buuut, going off of what he had experienced and witnessed tonight, he had an idea..."Vacation! Oh, if I could escape the office for a week...or a month, without having to answer why or where I was going! That would be the best. He*hic*, but that is only a shuggestion...do what yo will wit*hic* your imaginary winnings!" Mmm, yep, a try...not a essentially a succeed. That is all Meian could hope from his elder counterpart. After all, the few sakes he had been asked to share in, had well taken effect. Add to his hazy thoughts, an uncertainty of etiquette or expectations that other squads have in social settings such as this...he was I'll prepared for the assignment. Ah, but, cest la vie.

Freeing himself from the fuzzy Captain's immediate vicinity, he sought to get a little space from the crowd. Maybe linger out a bit, away from the pushing and shoving of the central crowd. It would help him calm himself, and focus his thoughts. To fight back against the alcohols influence, and to reign in his rather free thoughts. From the sidelines, he could also inspect the guests once more, taking count of all the souls who have yet come or gone. It was during such a survey, that he came across a new face. Certainly one he had never seen before, but with a sound he had never heard before. Not to surprising, the Seireitei was quite large and heavily populated.

There were bound to be souls he had never heard, looming around in the hidden places. This particular soul went by the name of Yusuke Kobayashi. As far as he could tell, not an officer...but given the gentleman's presence at this party, he must be of at least seated level. Either way, and regardless, the geezer would keep his eyes on this new comer...get a feel for whether or not it would be prudent to engage him. After all, despite the vast merriements which still carried on this evening...he had to remain cautious. His position was quite vulnerable, after all, and liquor mixed with good times can cause one's sensibilities to simply fly away...certainly he did not what that sort of thing happening. No telling what the consequences might be.
