The wire nicked Hokori's leg, drawing just enough blood to be effective. The bonds formed, severely restricting the ability for either Iro or Hokori to move. The Captain of Squad 5 tried to get away from his cousin, only to find himself trapped at the edge of the bond's distance. Feeling like a rat in a cage, an animal in a corner, the Soul Reaper felt the need to push forwards with all his might. The ink wave had done nothing, had just been absorbed and though the ground had soaked up a little bit, the affected ground was more than a yard away from Iro, and wouldn't bother him. As the poison from the needles still ate away at his mind, clouding it more and more, soon he'd fall far beyond the heights of his reacting abilities. While Hokori talked, something about his resolve, Iro puzzled through his analysis of his mind, working out how, if it was even possible, to compensate his movements to the lack of mental acuity.
One word, however, brought Iro's attention fully to his cousin. "Bankai." A massive outpouring of reiatsu that was fit for the ultimate release of power soared into the sky, blotting out the sun for a few moments. "Meh... Messy and unrefined. Well, not that I have a better refinement in the initial stages of release. Show me more, cousin." The light of the tower of reiatsu eventually faded, bringing sight once again to the pair of Kuchiki. Surrounding the area were countless books, sending out numberless pages with glowing green text in an arcane language. "Interesting. Large Bankai, but is it powerful?" Floating papers were generally not too intimidating, though they seemed to have latent powers possibly held within the glowing ink, much like the ink that was currently poisoning Iro's mind.
The papers floated around the mesa in which the two Kuchiki stood, just moving with the wind currents and drifting towards the ground, while the many books hovered just out of reach, ready to attack at a moment's notice. Some of the many papers settled on the Cubane shield, not doing much but getting in the line of sight. "Is this all they can do? Get in the way?" As in retaliation, a surge of papers slammed into the shield, and it just vanished. It wasn't broken, wasn't smashed through, it was simply negated and ceased to exist. Even though his brain was weakened, he still had superhuman instincts at this point. Faster than the papers could move, a foggy film appeared around Iro's entire body. Most of his Carbon objects were completely black, however he could make them like treated glass if he wished. They weren't good for seeing through, however vague colors could be made out through them. This film was formed at three times the speed of the papers, and had much less of a distance to travel.
Whereas the pages of the Tomes had to cover multiple feet of distance in order to crush the Captain of Squad 11, the film that grew out of his body needed no more room than a mere fraction of an inch. As soon as the film formed, he was protected completely from the onslaught, though he did expand it slightly with a thin wire still attached to himself in order to facilitate enough air inside the bubble in order to breathe. The bubble was, at full size, six and a half feet tall, and one foot in radius, shaped like a large bullet. Unbeknownst to Iro, having the bubble expand and let in more air before closing had harmful effects to himself. The gas that was released by the paper had been allowed inside the area, and was now working its way through his respiratory system. The increase in mind loss would be unnoticeable, so the Kuchiki would be unable to do anything about it. However, the papers would be unable to pierce the hard physical defense that had been constructed, simply crumpling as they slammed into it. "Is that all you got? Give it another go. If you're good enough maybe you can see my Bankai for a few moments."
